  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God's promises! How do you see them? (Numbers 13:1-15:41)

PARASHAH: “Shelach’l’ha” (send for yourself) NUMBERS 13:1-15:41.

Do you see God's promises in a positive or negative light? Canaan was a good land, but a land with pagan peoples and giants. God had shown his strength and might to deliver his people from Egyptian slavery. Would He fail his people now since he promised to give his people the land of Canaan? The people saw the "light of God" in the past. That same light would be the path for tomorrow. The tribal leaders couldn't see that, which brought disaster. There was a reality in the land of Canaan, but also a reality of the power of God to overcome the 'giant" obstacles. How do you see realities in life? in negative outcomes or positive outcomes?

Most of us know the story of the 12 spies that were sent to spy out the land of Canaan, sent by Moshe by the word of YHVH. But let’s look at the story carefully and see what we can dig out of the sand pile, we might find some valuable stuff hidden in the sand.

The word of Moshe to the 12 tribes was that they might select from each tribe a leader to represent that tribe, so the list is read. Among those selected, we are going to concentrate on two of the leaders;

“Kaleb” son of “Yephuneh” from the tribe of Y’hudah, and “Hoshea” son of “Nun” from the tribe of Ephrayim”.

The story goes as follows as we read the Torah. The 12 are sent out on a “reconnaissance” mission to “spy out” the land. What do we mean by that? Any time an army is going to invade a territory, the army needs to know how many men the enemy has, what they have, where they live, their fortresses, etc. This is a common battle strategy, nothing new. Adonai has already “promised” them the land, done deal! Yet they still have to go into battle, but the battle already has the outcome, Israelites win! This is what Adonai sees looking up the “finite” timeline in the “finite” dimension” and we must remember that HE sees ALL THINGS from the “infinite” timeline, the things that have already come to pass, even before they “pass”

Another thing we might are the words "Sh'lach-Lecha" (send for YOURSELF). In other words, Adonai is saying to Moshe; "I have already given you the land, you will win the battles, you will vanquish the enemy, yet, be my guest and check out the land. See what it has to offer, all the blessings, the richness of the land. Sure, they have some big and tall guys there, but they won't be a problem because I will be with you. Remember the Egyptian army? they're at the bottom of the sea now. So, check out the land and make invasion plans."

They travel throughout the land of Canaan for 40 days, they see many things, the fruit of the land, grapes, pomegranates, figs, date palms, etc. It is indeed a land flowing with “milk and honey” (figs and dates). Yet the beginning of verse 28 starts with BUT! or NEVERTHELESS! (Efes) in Hebrew, then a negative report follows; the people are strong, the cities are walled, and the “giants” (and not the team from New York) I mean “the big tall guys” It is very easy to spread discouragement among the people, (vs 32) “and they gave the children of Israel an evil report of the land”.

Imagine that your father promises to give you a brand-new Mercedes Benz for your birthday, and he says; “go to the Mercedes dealer and check it out son!” so you go and look at it, you look into the motor, inside, then come back and say; “Hey pop, this is going to eat up a ton of gas, the insurance is going to be high, it might get stolen… Well, Dad might say, “OK son, forget it then, if you feel that way!”

The only ones that saw the promise of YHVH were Kaleb and Hoshea, they looked to the promise, but the rest of the leaders set their eyes on the “circumstances”. Going back to verse 16, it points out something interesting; Moshe changes the name of “Hoshea” to “Yehoshua” This is very interesting and sheds light on internal symbolism. The name “Yehoshua” contains two names in the Hebrew language “YH” (Yah) and YESHUA! When we look at the full name “Yehoshua Ben Nun” from the ancient paleo-Hebrew letters and their symbolism, one could get the following message; “Behold and let the eye see (that God, the All-consuming fire) extends the hand to receive the nail, to give (BEN) life to the house (to families) and by the nail, (His) life was given up so that (we) might have life!” (NUN) So, "Hoshea" means "safe, to save, salvation, secure, "Yehoshua" is "God saves, salvation is from Yah, security is from God.

When we look at the name “Kaleb Ben Yephuneh” from the ancient Hebrew symbolism, we could get this message: “The house is anointed for instruction” (Kaleb) and “behold let it be made that from the mouth comes forth instruction” (Yephuneh). I guess it depends on how one looks at the letters, perhaps another rabbi would come up with something different, but this is how I personally look at the names from the ancient perspective.

The result was that panic and discouragement spread throughout the camp, and it wasn’t just a few thousand Israelites, but rather a few million, discouraged by 10 negative leaders. And 10 out-vote 2! Even though Kaleb and Yehoshua tried to encourage the people, the negatives won over. As the saying goes, you can put a few rotten apples in a barrel of good apples, and the good ones will never correct the rotten ones, but the rotten ones will infect the good ones with rottenness.

Those 10 negative leaders should have had the outlook of General Ben Gurion who said: "The light from yesterday is the path of tomorrow" If God was faithful in the past, he would be faithful now, and forever!

As a result, the Israelites had to stay in the desert wilderness for 40 years, 1 year for each day the spies were in Canaan. Then, to make matters worse, they tried to go into the land without the blessing of Adonai, and they were beaten back. YHVH wanted to destroy them all, yet Moshe intercedes for them, and Adonai listened to Moshe. This is the same way Yeshua intercedes for us to the Father, on our behalf when we “get rotten” (miracle we’re still in the land of the living? Or no?)

As we wander this earth for "x" amount of years, are we trusting in the provision of the LORD? Will we follow his glory cloud? or will we wander off the path? Something to think about?

Going to chapter 15, we read something interesting from verses 38 to 41, about making and wearing “Tzitziot” or “fringes” on our garments. There are many “traditions” in Judaism, such as the wearing of “Yarmulkes” (head coverings) and Ashkenazim dressing in black and white with black hats, even the lighting of two candles comes from “tradition” Tradition isn’t bad, as long as we understand the meaning behind the tradition. But one should NEVER teach “tradition” as “commandments” there is a world of difference between the two.

However, the making and wearing of Tzitziot, IS a commandment, however many do not follow it, I guess it is up to each individual. One can read it and say; “God says it but I won’t follow it” or “God says it and I will do it” We all have the choice to do or not to do. Whatever the Holy Spirit convicts us to do.

No one knows how the original Tzitziot were made, none have survived 3000 years. Today, there are many different styles and “knot tying” and “wrappings” of the thread when making Tzitziot.

One only has to go to YouTube and look up “Tying Tzitziot” and you will have quite a few videos of instructions on “how to” That is the way I learned, from watching a few YouTube videos on “making Tzitziot”.

But what do the Tzitziot symbolize? The scripture tells us in verse 39, “to remember the commandments”. The blue cord reminds us of the “blue sea” where the Israelites crossed, and the “blue” of the heavens from whence our Messiah and LORD will break through to return to earth. Today, we use 4 long cords, one of which is blue and is the longest. This cord is used to do the wrappings, and all 4 are used to make the knots. When one ties the knots, it is customary to say, “BaShem Mitzvah Tzitzit” (in the name of the commandment (of making) the tzitzit.

There are 5 knots, symbolizing the 5 first books of the Torah, the number “5” also symbolizes “grace” then there are the windings of the blue thread. The 4 cords are folded over so as to give the appearance of “8” cords, “8” is the number of a “new beginning” which we all have when we are “born-again”

The windings go as follows (but to get a good view and idea, you need to go to YouTube and view the Tzitziot tying videos) 7 windings, then knot, then 8 windings, then knot, then 11 windings, then a knot, then 13 winding, then the final knot. Why the 7, 8, 11, and 13 windings of the blue thread? Well, these spell out the name Y H V H using numbers. “7” being the “perfect number of God, then 7+8=15 which are the sum of the letters Y + H (Y=10, H=5). 11 = “V +H” (V=6, H=5) so now we have the infallible name Y H V H. “13” is the sum of the word “ECHAD” (oneness of God) Alef=1, Chet=8, and Dalet=4. 1+8+4=13, it also symbolizes the 13 attributes of Adonai found in Exodus when Moshe asks to “see God” and his “Spirit passes before him”

The worlds first real hologram

The challenge in making a real hologram is to get the photons to stop in the air, some cars have a hologram in the window, but it is a solid thing, what you do instead is to use a projector, and then you use harmless dust, or smoke, to stop the light, in the future you can make a machine, which constantly emits harmless dust, and then send the image directly on, then you get a movable machine as well, this is the world's first real hologram well, nothing like it has been created

written upon our hearts meaning?

what does written upon our hearts mean? we can't abandon logic just to satisfy our traditions. So we shouldn't just superimpose whatever law as law upon our hearts if it simply doesn't make sense. laws written upon our hearts are inherently natural laws, laws that we don't have to be told to know they exist. For example, I don't need to be told not to steal, murder or lie to know these are things I do not want to happen to me. These are universal morals and they are universal because that's the way we are designed, hence the "written upon the heart" aspect.

When it comes to laws with a focus towards God I still believe that within us all is a longing to connect with our creator even if we reject it there is still a void, or incompleteness of us all that can only be filled by God. Perhaps anecdotal but I don't think an unpopular perspective among Christians or monotheists at large. If we believe in God then it only makes sense that we are designed to worship him too.

Sabbath is also written upon our hearts but in order to understand what this means we have to eliminate the aspects of the Sabbath that we have to be told to understand because these things are not naturally understood and therefor cannot be written upon our hearts. A system of ritual rest performed once a week on a certain day are all things we need to be told to understand so that we may follow. The following may still be good, but these aspects of the sabbath are not written upon our hearts because, without the knowledge of this information, we are ignorant of it.

So what aspect of Sabbath is written upon our hearts? it goes back to the 7th day. the values of the 7th day extend to the completion of the creation. 7 itself is a number of completion and it is regarded this way because of creation. God does not cease work because he is tired, he ceases because the work is finished. and it is this finished work that ushers in the completion of the 7th day. the 7th day is the antithesis to before creation, contrasting light/darkness, complete/incomplete, full/empty, etc... indeed a power spiritual metaphor regarding the process of salvation upon our own lives.

it is this longing and desire for completion that is "written upon our hearts". This is something we do not need to be told in order to know it and it is often said that without God people feel empty or have a void within them that cannot be filled. It is not just salvation that fills this void, light spoken into darkness triggers the new creation within us, but the goal is the work of Christ within us to be complete to usher in the 7th day and this is the universal desire that is written upon all our hearts. if we look to verbatim etched-in-stone law as that focus then we've misunderstood what "written upon our hearts" actually means.

Could Earth be inside a black hole?

"And for that matter, could our universe be inside a black hole?"

"A black hole looks very much like the Big Bang in reverse. … The math looks similar," Khanna said. While a black hole collapses in on a tiny, highly dense point, the Big Bang exploded out of such a point."

Could Earth be inside a black hole?

need advice about Godly relationship

Greetings, I come looking for relationship advice. But first, some context.

I’ve only had two relationships in my life, and both were with intent for marriage. One of them was with someone serious, smart, and somewhat harsh. One of them was very abusive. My dad has also been in and out of my life since I was young. I believe it’s important to disclose these contexts because I still know God can help prepare me to stand by someone confidently, regardless of the trauma of my past. I’ve wanted a family ever since I can remember, I know it’s my path.

All of this is to say - I’ve guarded my heart for two years now - I haven’t even considered dating and I've been doing intense work in therapy. Now, I’ve met someone who seems trustworthy, who’s kind, and wants all the same things I do. However, this is a different friendship/relationship than I’m used to. I think it's important to be with someone who knows when to call you out and lead you. However, he really isn’t like this. He’s sensitive and lets me call all the shots, and I’m not sure if I want that. In all fairness, he’s a little bit younger than me, but I never thought age mattered that much. However, sometimes, I just don’t feel right in the dynamic. I don’t feel as comforted or as safe as I should be with someone I’m considering a future with.

He's very kind, so I wonder if this dynamic is something I can grow into. Especially as someone with my background of abuse. I genuinely need the advice of people who have been in healthy relationships, I don’t have many examples to look up to. I grew up being told that someday my husband would be the spiritual leader of my household and a stronghold in my life, I'm not ready to give up on that. However, in my abusive relationship, I made countless changes for my boyfriend. I don't want to ask this amazing person to change for me.

My questions: is love a thing that can be grown into? Is love a thing that can be partially forced? Am I wrong for wanting what I want?

Thank you for getting through all of this. Anything helps -

Ana

1 dead, at least 22 hurt in a shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Willowbrook, Illinois, police say

A large group of people gathered for the celebration from around 6 p.m. on Saturday, and police were at the site to monitor the event, the sheriff’s office said.

The officers were called away around 12:25 a.m. to respond to a 911 call reporting a fight nearby.

“As deputies responded, they heard gunshots and immediately returned to the scene of the gathering,” the sheriff’s office said.

Witnesses said the parking lot was still filled with people when the sound of gunshots rang out and the scene turned chaotic. Some people started running.

After the 2022 shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, less than 40 miles from Willowbrook, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed into law a ban on assault-style rifles and high-capacity magazines in the state.

“This shooting shows that even states with strong gun laws like Illinois are not immune from gun violence due to our incredibly weak federal laws and weak laws in neighboring states.” Kris Brown, president of Brady, the country’s oldest gun violence prevention organization, said in a statement.

While I would agree that with each passing shooting like this, it highlights more and more why we need to button up some gun control laws, clearly this sort of thing doesn't happen in other developed nations with the frequency that it happens here. But with regards to Illinois (and the Chicago area in particular), I think they're missing the mark a bit when they trot out the old trope of blaming Indiana's weak gun laws for all of their problems.

While they're partially right in that a neighboring locale where it's easy to get a gun can introduce some new guns into the hands of people who shouldn't have them in their own locale, there's still some underlying cultural aspects that they're deflecting from by trying to pin the blame there.

The situation of "we have strict gun laws, but a neighboring state that's an easy drive to doesn't" is by no means a situation that's unique to Illinois/Chicago, yet they seem to be the only ones who try to deflect from their own internal city management problems by citing it.

For instance, New Jersey has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, they still have some high violent crime rates in certain cities...I don't hear New Jersey officials regularly blaming their internal issues on the more lax gun laws that exist in Delaware and PA...nor do I hear California blaming the crime rates in the southeastern part of the state on the fact that it's a close drive to Yuma, AZ where it's much more permissive.

I think this problem needs to be approached from both sides. While I'd agree that Indiana's weaker gun laws certainly don't help matters in Chicago (and the surrounding areas), I don't think that Indiana implementing strict gun laws would solve most of their problems either.

On Father's Day

Ephesians 6:4 ESV

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

In America we have one day a year where we celebrate our Fathers. It is called “Father’s Day.” And for those who had good and not negative experiences with their fathers, it is usually a day of good memories or of good times in the present day. But not everyone had a father, or if they did, not everyone had a good father. Many of us had abusive and hateful fathers who did not love us at all.

Now when this talks here about fathers not provoking their children to anger, but bringing them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, this is saying, I believe, that there is a difference between discipline and abuse. Abuse is usually done in anger and plain meanness, for no thought for what the parent is actually doing to the child, and it can be very selfish driven. Now true discipline should be painful, to a certain extent, but it should be pain which is related to loving correction, and not in rage or selfishness.

Now my father was an abuser of the worst kind. He abused some of us sexually and all of us physically and emotionally, and “us” includes my mother and all four of my siblings. And we never knew when he was going to blow up at us, and it could be for nothing we did at all, but sometimes it was just what he created in his own mind, or because we didn’t do something his way, the way he thought it should be done at the very second he wanted it done, and I am not speaking of us disobeying him here.

I will give you an example. This one day he wanted me to get a book for him out of a bookcase filled with books. Now he could see the book he was pointing to, but I saw a whole bookcase full of books and I didn’t know which one he was pointing to, so I didn’t go grab it because I didn’t know which one he meant. And so as I stood there trying to understand which book he wanted, he knocked me over the head with his fist. I got hit in the head a lot when I was a child.

And here is another one. Back in my day we didn’t have dishwashers. My sisters and I were the dishwashers. One of us would wash, another would dry, and the other would put away. And we would rotate these chores so that we didn’t all get stuck with doing the same job all the time. But sometimes my sisters wouldn’t get a dish clean, and so I would hand it back to them to finish washing it before I dried it.

So, this one day when I was the one washing the dishes, I had missed washing the back of the spatula when I handed it to my sister to dry. It still had grease on it. But rather than handing it back to me, she showed it to my father, I think out of spite, which she admitted many years later, and so he swiped me across the face with it. And that’s just the minor stuff. For he was particularly physically abusive to our mother, beating her regularly. We never knew when his fist would strike, and so we lived on edge and in fear.

But then I grew up and I got married and I moved out of my father’s house. And we only lived in my birth city for about 8 years after that before we moved south permanently, well, at least for the next 34 years, we did, until my husband retired. And so I only saw my dad maybe once or twice a year after that, and it was limited visits. But on Father’s Day I always felt obligated to send him a card, and that was a painful experience for me.

And maybe you can identify with this. But I would go to the card shop and pick up a card and it would talk about the wonderful father I had and so I would put it down and pick up another, same scenario, and so I would pick up another, and the same. Not one of them expressed the relationship I had with my birth father. And that was a painful experience to go through year after year after year. And then the Lord gave me permission to not get him a card at all, for that holiday is just a human tradition. But after some time of healing I went to getting him a more generic card just to show him love.

So, if you identify at all with any of what I have shared with you, I empathize. I feel your pain. I hope you have come to a place of healing and wholeness and that you are no longer living in that pain. But I know that Father’s Day is still not a day of celebration for you unless you can find something you feel that you can celebrate.

For me, I just found things that my father did that were unrelated to abuse and that were just his quirky way he did some things, like moving the pictures on the wall so many times that the walls had holes all in them, or how he always had to explain about the stack tables he had that slid in and out of one another, big to little. I can think of those things and smile. And my favorite picture of my dad is when he was a boy. I like that picture. I don’t like the ones of him when he was my dad. I’m okay with that.

So, what’s the encouragement today? If you are a dad, please know that there is a difference between loving correction and abuse. Please do not abuse your children in anger and in selfishness but correct them in love so that they might learn to be responsible and loving and caring adults. And if you had a dad like me, know that healing is there for you through Jesus Christ if you will trust him with your life and if you will relent of all bitterness and if you are willing to forgive those who have hurt you. And then let God be the one you celebrate today as your heavenly Father who loves you.

A song based off the poem by the same name

When I was lonely and afflicted,
You were there to pick me up.
You took me in Your arms,
And You held me tenderly.

Your love embraced me.
Your grace sustained me.

When my heart cried out to You
In my fear and my despair,
You never turned away,
But You let me know You loved me.

Your grace forgave me.
You did not shame me.

Then, when I answered the call,
“Here, Lord, send me.”
You sent me to where I must be.
Your mercy held me, did not fail me.
All this, You had planned, to use me.

And, when all trials and scorn
Came to test me.
You gave me all that I would need.
You strengthened me so I’d not fail You.
Your kindness blessed me, it touched me.

And, when I needed the church
To lift up me,
To hearten me so I’d not fail,
You blessed me with folks who would love me.
Their presence with me, Your praise hailed!

And, when I walked through the valley
Of the shadow of the death,
And tears flowed from my eyes,
Still Your kindness was there for me.

Your touch, it healed me.
For I believed You.

When now I think about the ways,
Of the many, many ways
That You in Your great love
Show me that You’ll always care for me,

My heart, it thanks You,
And gladness fills me, fills me.

Nevada State Trooper Saves Kitten Cowering on a Busy Las Vegas Highway (WATCH)

A police officer was captured on her dash-cam scuttling after a tiny kitten on the side of a busy highway.

Officer Estrada is seen in the video below pulling over her vehicle on the Las Vegas, Nevada highway. She quickly approaching the terrified kitty, saying “Hi, baby. You’re OK.”

But the Nevada State Trooper had to hustle after the gray feline when it bolted further toward traffic.

She finally rounded up the animal, which hid in the glove compartment during the drive back to the station.

Nevada State Police tweeted: “(We) received calls about a kitten on the on-ramp to a busy highway… and Trooper Estrada quickly responded.”

The kitten was then given some tender loving care by officers who decided to name it ‘Trooper Kitty’.

"Food for everyone!!". Then leaves without paying!!

No one was ordering or being served food at the time as the restaurant was overrun with his own staff and media.

Possible Life Elsewhere in the Biblical Sense

Let’s start at the beginning—no pun intended. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Many have interpreted the heavens, from the languages that promoted the Bible down through the ages, to be the entire universe. So, God created the universe.

Jesus was there at “the beginning,” as told in John 1:1-2, so he was there when the universe was created. In Mark 16:15-16, Jesus says to his disciples “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” What is “whole creation,” other than the universe? Of course, Jesus at this point doesn’t go into the logistics of proclaiming the gospel to this “whole creation.” Then again, he doesn’t go into the logistics of ‘going into “all the world,”’ either. He doesn’t mention preparing caravans for land, or the type of ships at sea, including the sales to use, and other details you might find in, say, a Herman Melville or a Robert Jordan novel. He leaves it largely to his disciples to determine how to get there. So, it follows that Jesus doesn’t tell his disciples how to go to other planets and heavenly bodies either.

Can anyone find where in the Bible, it says that life is only on earth? Can anyone find where the Bible denies that life is elsewhere?

Why would we think that life exists elsewhere? If we delve into the natural world, God’s world if you will, we find things that may surprise people. The elements of life, including phosphorus, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur, have been found elsewhere. In addition, an ocean of sorts has been found in that same area, in which these elements thrive. This discovery was recently made on one of Saturn’s moons, called Enceladus.

For now, it would naturally seem ridiculous for Jesus to mean for his disciples to “proclaim the gospel” to each of these elements, even if, at the time, they could go to places like Enceladus. But if the functioning elements of life can be found there, and maybe in other places, then why not life as we know it, with an intelligence comparable to ours, as well? We may not have arrived at that stage yet where we’ve actually come face to face with living beings comparable to us. But if we did, or, say, when we do, it would follow that Jesus’ command to his disciples, and to those that follow, would extend to where such life is found elsewhere.

Seen from another angle, the opening line to many Hebrew prayers is, “Blesseth art thou oh Lord our God, ruler of the universe...” If there wasn’t life in other parts of the universe, then what is it that God would be ruler over, other than the motions of the heavenly bodies and the longevity of the stars?

UFO's - Extraterrestrials

Wasn't' sure were to post this .... so if there is a more appropriate place ... please move it.

Lately there have been some reports about UFO's and Extraterrestrials as being very real and for quite some time, but kept secrete. The in depth reports I have found .... have mostly been from independent news sources .... a couple mentions in the main stream media.

Below is one. (it is about 1 hour long) There are also some from government/military "whistle blowers" testify to this as well. These people do not present themselves to be "nut cases".

My question is ....

The bible does give reference of other beings existence .... however does not state anything about these other beings visiting planet earth (other than angels)

so, if the reports do indeed end up being true (and how would we know that it is?) .... then .... as Christians what are we to make of it?

the German Butterbrot tradition

When I asked this morning somewhere what they like on bread, I had completely forgotten that the Anglo-Saxon world does not know the tradition of the German Butterbrot.

The German word Butterbrot (literally: butter bread = bread with butter) describes a slice of bread topped with butter. It is still considered Butterbrot even if additional toppings such as cheese, spreads, or lunch meats are added, as long as it consists of a slice of bread with butter.

And:

The Russian language adopted the term buterbrod (бутерброд) from New High German (Butterbrot),[2] perhaps as early as the 17th century during the reign of Peter the Great. In modern Russian the term has a more general meaning, whatever the ingredient on top of the slice of bread is. From Russian, the term buterbrod was adopted into Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Georgian, Kazakh, Ukrainian, and Lithuanian.

When "God" is mentioned, is it a reference to Yeshua's God?

Provided that Yeshua's God is known as the Father, wherever God is mentioned can we safely conclude that it's a reference to Yeshua's God and our God as well?

John 20:17
17Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”

Ephesians 1:17
17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

Romans 15:6
6that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:3
3We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

2 Corinthians 1:3
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Use It or Lose It

Matthew 25:14-30 ESV

The kingdom of heaven “will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money.
“Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
“And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
“He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’
“But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”

The Lord gave each one of us life, and gifts and talents, our portion, our part in this world. And to some people he gave more than he gave to others. And what we do with what we have been given is up to us. But the Lord chooses what portions he has for us in this life. And it is my understanding that he doesn’t usually let us see into the future and to what all could be ours to have lest we be greedy and try to take it for ourselves, i.e. to fake it, to pretend as though we have more than we actually have, perhaps out of jealousy of those who have more.

What we start out with and what we end up with does depend on the Lord, to some extent, for he is the giver of life and of gifts and talents. But it also depends on what we do with what we have been given, even if we have been given little. Do we use what he has given to us for his purposes and for his glory? Or do we bury it and do nothing with it and go our own way and do what our evil hearts desire, instead? – Like Judas did when he betrayed Jesus to death, and like Cain did when he killed his brother Abel out of jealousy. But neither could not stop God’s will from being accomplished.

And this isn’t just about gifts and talents and/or about material wealth. This is about the life we have been given. So, this includes our upbringing, our experiences in life, our trials and our tribulations, our persecutions, times when we had little, and times when we had plenty, etc. What did we do with all of that? And I am including upbringing that was not godly, either, but that was abusive and neglectful and painful physically and emotionally. What did we do with all that we have been given in this life?

Did we use our experiences, good or bad, to grow in our walks of faith with the Lord, or to even believe in Jesus Christ in truth? Or did we allow ourselves to become bitter and angry and resentful like Cain did? And did we reject the Lord? Or did we fake our Christianity while still rejecting the Lord? For some people do that. They want to appear “Christian” outwardly to others but while they are living in secret and deliberate and habitual sin against God and against other humans.

But the Lord gives us what he gives us, and he allows in our lives what he allows in our lives for our good, so that he can make us into the people he wants us to be in order that we might do and be that part in the body of Christ which he designed specifically for us to do and to be for his glory and purposes. But we have the choice to use what we have been given for good or for evil, and to use it for good, and to produce good fruit, or to bury it and to not use it at all.

But if we reject what we have been given, and so we bury it, and we do not let it produce good fruit in our lives, then when our Lord returns, or when we die, we will be cast into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for we refused God and his will and purpose for our lives, and we made all sorts of excuses for why we buried what was given us so that it did not produce good fruit in us. But we have no excuse if we reject our Lord and his will and purpose for our lives and we go our own way, instead. And if we continue in deliberate sin, heaven is not our home.

For Our Nation

An Original Work / September 11, 2012

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
