  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Faith requires a corresponding action!

SCRIPTURE: 'But they couldn’t reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.” Luke 5:19-20.

LESSON: Faith has to be expressed through corresponding actions. However, the corresponding action has to be led by the Holy Spirit, who teaches us all things, taking what is of the Father and declaring it to us. The followings are a few ways to know if the corresponding action is as led by the Spirit:
  1. It is complementary to what you're believing God for, not opposed to it
  2. It is not a substitute for God's power. As it works alongside (complement), there will always be an emptiness that only God can fulfill. E.g. Although the people were able to bring the paraplegic to the Lord, he still needed to speak the healing word for the power to be released to heal the paraplegic. Therefore, Don't hesitate to apply for job opportunities or admissions, for example, even if you feel unqualified. However, continue to seek ways to develop yourself to enhance your chances of success.
  3. Following the 2nd point above, it does not take the glory that belongs to God and give it to another person or thing.

Please pray for my father's faith

My father Moses Hai(his Arabic name Musa, though he denied any prophet in Bible) is an atheist who worships self and sience, though his father was a secular Muslim (died in 1950's) . Sometimes I argued with him about God Vehemently . I want to be kind and patient to him, bless but not curse. He looks like my enemy, I need to love my enemy . And I need to repent for I do not honor my father and mother. I fall into serious depression and fear the Lord would abandon me. Prayers are very appreciated.

Crucifying Christ All Over Again

Jesus Christ was falsely arrested for a crime he did not commit. Those who arrested him took him to the high priest’s house. And the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking him as they beat him. Then Jesus was led away to the council of the chief priests and scribes who began to question him as to who he said he was, if he was the Christ (the Messiah they had been awaiting). Yet he did not give a direct response, but he referred to himself as the Son of Man. So they asked him if he was the Son of God. And he said, “You say that I am.” And so they sought to accuse him.

And then he was brought before Pilate, who found no guilt in Christ. And then he was sent to Herod, and Herod also did not find Jesus guilty of the false charges being brought against him. So, Pilate intended to release Jesus after he had punished him (see Luke 22:47-71; Luke 23:1-17).

So, who were Jesus’ accusers? They were the Jews, right? They were Jesus’ own people – his brothers (family), neighbors, friends, fellow Jews, the rulers in the temple of God and those who taught the Holy Scriptures. And who said that they found no guilt in Jesus? They were the secular rulers of the people, not God’s Holy people, right? Correct me if I am wrong here. And who insisted that Jesus be put to death? Who was insisting on him being crucified? Was it not the chief priests, the scribes, the rulers in the temple of God and the people of God at that time who were the Jews?

Luke 23:18-25 ESV

“But they all cried out together, ‘Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas’— a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection started in the city and for murder. Pilate addressed them once more, desiring to release Jesus, but they kept shouting, ‘Crucify, crucify him!’ A third time he said to them, ‘Why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.’ But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed. So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted. He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus over to their will.”

Do you realize that many who call themselves Christians and who say they believe in Jesus Christ are doing this to Christ today? How? What did Jesus say to Paul (then Saul) when he was persecuting the Lord’s servants and witnesses? He said to him, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.” And that is not the only time in the NT Scriptures where we are taught that if we mistreat the Lord’s true servants and witnesses that it is as though we are doing it to Christ (see Acts 26:9-18; Matthew 18:1-7; Matthew 25:31-46).

So, when professing Christians persecute the Lord’s true servants and witnesses for doing what the Lord has said and what the Scriptures teach that we all must be doing, as his followers, it is the same as calling for Jesus Christ to be crucified all over again. And do you realize that this is happening much in today’s modern market-driven “churches” and among what seems to be the majority of those who call themselves Christians? And do you realize that they are being incited to do so by their religious leaders?

Yes, this is truth! For many people who call themselves Christians, at least here in America, are being incited and encouraged and manipulated into rejecting a large portion of the truth of the gospel and to believe the lies of the enemy, instead, which are blended in together skillfully with the truth. For many are being taught that if anyone teaches that we must repent of our sins and that we must follow Jesus in obedience and that we must live holy lives, they are to regard them as teachers of “works salvation.”

But some of them are okay with teachings on repentance and walks of obedience to the Lord and on holy living. But if anyone teaches what Jesus and his NT apostles taught – that if we walk in sin, and if we do not obey our Lord, and if we do not walk (in conduct, in practice) in righteousness, that we will not inherit eternal life with God – then the people believe that those who teach such are being legalistic, that they are self-righteous, uncaring, unloving, and unsympathetic, and that what they are teaching is false.

But not only are they being persuaded to reject the truth of what Jesus and his NT apostle taught with regard to our salvation and eternal life, and how that is impacted by how we live, but they are being persuaded to reject the servants of the Lord who are sharing those truths with the people. But not only that, and this is where this parallels this story even more, they are exonerating and they are embracing and they are releasing of all guilt those who are teaching them lies and who are leading them astray. For they want the lies over the truth because the lies don’t confront them in their sins.

But no matter how many times they reject the truth in favor of the lies, and they reject those who are telling them the truth while they are embracing those who are telling them lies, it does not alter the truth of God’s word. The truth is still the truth whether or not people believe it. And so when Jesus said that not everyone who says to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one DOING the will of God the Father, that truth still stands. So if you are walking in sin and not in obedience and not in holy living, you will not enter into God’s heaven regardless of what you profess.

My Heart’s Desire

An Original Work / June 29, 2013
Based off Rm. 10; Lu. 9:23-26; Ep. 4:20-24

Loved Ones, Oh, my heart’s desire
Is that you might come to Jesus.
Many appear zealous for God,
But they do not trust in Him.
They have not submitted to the One
Who saved them from their sins;
Not forsaken their sins,
Nor have they obeyed their King.

The word of the Lord is near you:
The word of faith we’re proclaiming:
That you must confess your faith
In Jesus as your Lord and King:
Believe in Him as your Lord,
And follow Him where’er He leads.
Share the gospel; be a witness,
And meet others’ needs.

Beautiful are the feet of those
Who bring the good news of Jesus:
Anyone who would come to Him
Must deny himself today;
Die to sin and self, and
Let the Spirit transform you in heart;
Put on your new self in Jesus,
Yielding to the cross.

What scripture that is not often talked about or referenced do you like? i'll start

Peter asked, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?”

Luke 12:41

I love this verse because Peter breaks the 4th wall when asking this. It's almost as if he could sense Jesus was not just addressing everyone then, but everyone every time

Repent & be baptized ISN'T the message for the Church today

The phrase gospel of the kingdom & references to “the kingdom of God” and “the kingdom of heaven”

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words: [ 1,,G932, basileia ] KINGDOM
"The fundamental principle of the Kingdom is declared in the words of the Lord spoken in the midst of a company of Pharisees, "the Kingdom of God is in the midst of you," Luke 17:21, marg., that is, where the King is, there is the Kingdom.

OT Gospel of the Kingdom: Israel only, message begins with John the Baptist 25-26AD Is retired 70AD/Temple destroyed. Will be redeployed after the caughting-up of the Church (Thes 4)

NT Gospel of the grace of God: Begins with Paul's return from Arabia (Gal 1) 35-37AD still operating. Will be retired at the catching up-up of the Church (Thes 4)

A glimpse of God's promised coming Kingdom to Israel:
2 Sam 7:12-13, 1 Chron 17:10-14, Isa 9:6-7,11:1-9, Dan 2:44,7:13-14, Mic 4:1-5, Zec 14:1-21, Lk 1:32-33.

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Matt 19:28 Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

All the above OT teaching's are kingdom promises God made to Israel's fathers (Rom 15:8). Are necessary context, in understanding Jesus kingdom teaching & preaching messaging. (Matt 3:2).

Matt 15:24 Messiah answered & said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
(SCRIPTURE PROCLAIMS: Jesus was sent, ONLY, to the lost sheep of the ""House of Israel"")

Rom 15:8 I say that Messiah was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
(SCRIPTURE PROCLAIMS: Messiah was sent to minister to the circumcision/JEWS, To fulfil OT promises made to the Hebrew fathers)

Acts 11:19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
(MY NOTE: This is after Stephens death (6 yrs after Jesus death & resurrection) these Jewish converts that had fled Israel. Running for their lives from law zealots like Saul. They are still only sharing Christ with other Jews!).

Acts 10:28 Peter said unto them, Ye know how that it is an """unlawful""" thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean
(BTW: Jesus died on the cross 7 yrs before Peter tells Cornelius (an Italian/gentile) "IT'S UNLAWFUL" for a Jew to hang out with a gentile, Jesus faithfully kept the law)

Matt 15:26 Jesus said; It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
(MY NOTE Jesus calls this gentile woman of Canaan a dog. Jews often referred to Gentiles as "dogs" Matt 7:6 )

Gal 4:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
(SCRIPTURE PROCLAIMS: God sent forth his Son """made under the law""" to """redeem those under the law/JEWS""")

Jesus's in the flesh mission was to the lost sheep of the ""House of Israel"" ONLY!

Gentiles were considered ungodly/unclean (living outside of covenant seals). Just being in their presence could make a Jew ceremonially unclean (Jn 18:28)

A/the new covenant doesn't/can't begin until after Jesus dies.

Heb 9:
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
(MY NOTE: Jesus kept, lived, taught & fulfilled the old covenant Mosaic laws. There can be no new covenant until after Jesus (the Testator) dies.

Study tips from a pro:
Myles Coverdale; Bible theologian/translator. He wrote the Coverdale Bible. Say's don't judge scripture by what is spoken, or written only.

When dissecting any verse of scripture. Ask yourself, of whom, to whom, with what words, what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what is written before and what follows any single verse context.

Who was preaching the repent & be baptized gospel of the kingdom message? JESUS, John & the 12!
Who was Jesus talking to? JEWS UNDER THE LAW! Reread Matt 15:24, Rom 15:8 above.
What's the timeframe? PRE-DEATH!
Where? ISRAEL!
To what intent? REDEEM THOSE UNDER THE LAW/JEWS! Reread Gal 4:4-5 above.

The gospel of the kingdom message Jesus preached was for Israel ONLY! This message is void of Jesus sin atoning death & resurrection. The OT God given Levitical animal sacrificial system dealt with (covered) Israel's sin.

Gentiles had NO PART in the All Jewish repent & be baptized gospel of the kingdom message.

Eph 2:
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
(SCRIPTURE PROCLAIMS: Pre-death & resurrection, gentiles were: ""strangers living outside covenant seals of promise"" ""having no hope"" living without God in the world)

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
(SCRIPTURE PROCLAIMS: But NOW post death & resurrection. The blood of Christ has brought you near.)

Acts 10 records dispensational message change. From the ALL JEWISH gospel of the kingdom promise. To the gospel of the GRACE of God.

The Lord thru Peter opens salvations door to gentiles! The NT good new/gospel of the GRACE of God (void Mosaic law adherence). Is open to ALL, Jew & gentile.

Acts 10, Seven years after the (Acts 2) Holy Spirit out pouring. Peter has a vision, it tells him to eat unclean creatures. Peter argues with the Lord 3 times & the Lord says. Peter, if I make/say it's clean, ITS CLEAN! Peter then goes with the unclean gentiles that had already been traveling to find Peter.

Acts 10:
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
(MY NOTE: These gentiles don't repent of anything, don't bring a animal sin offering or adhere to any Mosaic laws etc. They hear about Jesus sin atoning death & resurrection, believe it (nothing more, nothing less/FAITH) & Christ (who knows everyone true heart) baptizes them with His FOREVER indwelling (Jn 14:16) eternal salvation sealing (2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, Eph 4:4) Holy Spirit. Also see Eph 1:13. They heard, believed & received Christ's FOREVER indwelling Holy Spirit)

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(MY NOTE: If any gentile had received the Holy Spirit 7 years ago at the Acts 2 Pentecost. These Jews (to include Peter) wouldn't have been astonished!)

Next the Risen Lord gives Saul/Paul the NT gospel of the GRACE of God message (Acts 20:24) and sends him to gentiles/all other nations (Acts 26:14-18)

The NT gospel of the GRACE of God message is: Jesus died for your sins, was buried & rose on the 3rd day (1 Cor 15:1-4) for your justification (Rom 4:25)

Salvation is offered by the GRACE of God & accessed by FAITH (Eph 2:8, Rom 5:1-2). Placed in Jesus sin atoning sacrifice.

If you'll read the Acts 10 account. They heard about Jesus sin atoning death & resurrection, BELIEVED, were saved/baptized by Jesus with His Holy Spirit & then partook in baptism. This public action was confirmation of their faith. An outwardly expression of the inner spiritual change.

Although salvation comes by Gods GRACE & is accessed by FAITH ALONE. There are some prerequisite understandings needed.

You must acknowledge God is, understand you've sinned (Rom 3:23) against a sovereign Creator God's rule & are under a death sentence (Rom 6:23) in need of rescue. That Jesus is the only path to pardon. You confess your sins & ask Him to come into/indwell your heart & forgive/rescue you from your sins. He has promised to accept all true confessions (1 Jn 1:9). Jesus knows every heart & is absolutely faithful.

Understand with your confession, you're agreeing to marriage union commitment. You become His BETROTHED, the Holy Spirit is His promise, your engagement ring (See link at bottom).

He accepts every true seeker that approaches with a contrite heart. At acceptance Jesus gives the convert GIFTS: His Holy Spirit (Acts 10:45, 11:17), A declaration of righteousness (Rom 4:5 & 5:17-18) & eternal life (Rom 6:23, Jn 5:24).

NT Gospel of Jesus Christ:

1 Cor 15:
1 Now brothers and sisters, let me remind you [once again] of the good news [of salvation] which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and on which you stand [by faith].

2 By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].

3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

PARSING:
Vs 1, ""The good news of SALVATION"" preached to you, ""which you accepted by FAITH"". (NO H2O NEEDED!)

Vs 2, You were SAVED by FAITH & reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed & set apart for His purpose. (NO H2O NEEDED!)

Vs 3, The most ""important"" SALVATION information needed is: (Vs 3) Christ died for our sins (Vs 4) was buried & He was raised on the 3rd day.

Synopsis: The gospel/good news whereby you are SAVED by FAITH placed in: Christ' sin atoning sacrifice/offering/payment: He died/Shedding His sinless perpetually cleansing (Heb 10:14) God blood, was buried & rose on the 3rd day. (Father receipt, sins required payment received & accepted. (NO H2O NEEDED!)

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed "ye were sealed with that holy Spirit'' of promise
(PARSING: You heard & BELIEVED about Jesus sin atoning payment & resurrection. Then (Matt 3:11, Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16) by Jesus, you were <PAST TENSE > SEALED with God's promised Gift of His FOREVER (Jn 14:16) SALVATION SEALING (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, 2 Tim 1:14) indwelling Holy Spirit.

Rom 10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of FAITH, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT be SAVED. 1 Cor 15:
(PARSING Confess Jesus as Lord, BELIEVE He was Raised from the dead. For with the heart man BELIEVES unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Heb 9:22 In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].
(MY NOTE: WATER BAPTISM doesn't/can't remit/pardon sin. Repentance doesn't/can't remit/pardon sin. Only FAITH in Jesus sin atoning BLOOD sacrifice/death & resurrection)

Eph 2:8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you HAVE BEEN SAVED [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through FAITH. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
(MY NOTE: Salvation is accessed by GRACE thru FAITH.

9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
(MY NOTE: No SELF-WORKS needed or ALLOWED!)

All thanksgiving, praise, glory & honor belongs to Christ our Lord!

How to avoid “rookie mistakes” as a new Catholic convert...

Many of us who became Catholic – especially if we came from Evangelical Protestant backgrounds — entered the Church full of excitement, fervor, and a desire to do what we’ve done our whole Christian lives, which is to share our experience of Jesus with everyone we encounter.

In doing so, however, some of us have let our zeal run ahead of our prudence, and either ended up with strained relationships, an inflated sense of the role knowledge plays in the Christian life, and even spiritual burnout.

Sam Guzman, who grew up Baptist, looks back at some of the mistakes he made in his own first days as a new Catholic, and shares some thoughts for anyone who’s excited about discovering the Catholic Faith but wants to get things off on the right foot as they begin the next phase of their journey with Christ.

The main source used by liberals to falsely claim and label conservative groups as hate, anti government, white supremacy

Yes they are liberal leftist themselves (Southern Poverty Law Center) that specifically targets many conservative groups that oppose their leftist liberal agenda

They falsely claim many conservative groups as hate, anti government, and white supremacy, while not even documenting the many leftist groups as hate or antigovernment, BLM, Antifa, (Nation Of Islam) Louis Farakahan, Etc

Rep. Dean Phillips wants ‘moderate governor’ to jump into Democratic primary to unseat Biden

“I would like to see a moderate governor, hopefully from the heartland from one of the four states that Democrats will need,” Mr. Phillips said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

As examples, he named Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

Is there anything that you admire about Muslims?

I worked in Saudi Arabia for 4 years. From my personal experience, I think the average Muslim in Saudi Arabia has more respect for Mohammed than the average Christian in Toronto has for Jesus.

Also, Muhammad Ali (the champ) was a Muslim and a man of conscience.

Adventists affirm Dan 7 pre-advent Investigative judgment (and then Dan 8 and Dan 9 for it being started in 1844)

Dan 7 describes the pre-advent Investigative judgment -

vs 9-10 Pre-Advent Investigative (review of books, records in heaven by "the court") --
vs 21-22 "Judgment passed in favor of the saints" -- so they are being evaluated/reviewed/discussed (as Rom 2:4-16 describes it)
See Job 1, and Job 2 for the interest/focus of heavenly courts on the saints vs the wicked..
vs 21, 22,25 Persecution of saints happens WHILE this courtroom judgment in Dan 7 takes place - and continues - until judgment completes.
vs 27 "Then comes the ADVENT" -- so all the above is "pre-Advent"

vs 9 begins after the rise and fall of the 4th empire in Dan 7 (Pagan Rome)
We see the investigative judgment in vs 9-10 (investigating out of the content of books of record) in this courtroom.

Dan 7:

9 “I kept looking
Until thrones were set up,
And the Ancient of Days took His seat;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head like pure wool.
His throne was ablaze with flames,
Its wheels were a burning fire.
10 A river of fire was flowing
And coming out from before Him;
Thousands upon thousands were serving Him,
And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;
The court convened,
And the books were opened.

"Judgment passed in favor of the saints" -- so they are being evaluated/reviewed/discussed (as Rom 2:4-16 describes it)

21 I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.

Job 1 and Job 2 give us a clear view of how the court is very interested in those claimed to be saints - taking a lot of time to review the details - but is not very interested in the idea of proving that the wicked who oppress Job "are indeed wicked" ... since that part is obvious to all. In fact in Rom 3:23 "ALL have sinned" so from the heavenly court POV the interesting part is that there is A SAINT. That claim is reviewed closely as we see in Job 1 and also in 2 Cor 5:10 "we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ" (we -- means this includes the saints)

Rev 20 describes this concept of "judgment out of books of record" -- this way

Rev 20:21 "... and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds."

And so it is in the Dan 7 example of the same thing "the court sat, the books were opened... until judgment was passed in favor of the saints"
  1. as we see in 2 Cor 5:10 EACH one judge based on "deeds done in the body whether good or bad".
  2. As we see in Rom 2:4-16 failing cases compared to succeeding cases - according to deeds "DOERS of the law will be justified" Rom 2:13
  3. As we see in Matt 7 - "not everyone who SAYS Lord Lord - but he who DOES"
By Contrast: The idea of "judgment passed in favor of the saints ... out of the books of record" without a single detail about any saint being considered -- is total nonsense as the objective unbiased Bible student will note
.
================================================
Persecution of saints happens WHILE this courtroom judgment in Dan 7 takes place - and continues - until judgment completes.

23 “This is what he said: ‘The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth which will be different from all the other kingdoms, and will devour the whole earth and trample it down and crush it. 24 As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will humble three kings. 25 And he will speak against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half a time. 26 But the court will convene for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.
Then the kingdom of this world is turned over to Christ and saints. This is the Advent of Christ so all that came before is pre-advent
27 Then the sovereignty, the dominion, and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the empires will serve and obey Him.’

Is this a rare talent for a female?

I have a sister in Christ that has shared with me many times on how to answer nonbelievers who debate you with questions challenging Christianity. In all of the Christians I have met (without counting pastors or anyone with official ministry position), I haven’t found anyone else who has shared with me such detailed way of answering objections. So I want to ask people here, how often do you find females that are this way? I recorded our last conversation regarding apologetics which I will share below in my YouTube link with our phone convo being on speaker phone. Listen to it and tell me if this is a rare case. I don’t know if this is a special talent of a rare case or what, so I want to know what your opinion is. I had told her that I’m going to put it on my YouTube page because I’m planning to start in apologetics YouTube account and I want to start with my recordings of her answers.

There are two questions that I ask her in the video. If you don’t have the time to look at all of it, I’m just going to invite you to watch for the first 5 minutes where I ask the first question. I was sharing with her a time when I was witnessing to a coworker about absolute truths. I asked him how do we know right from wrong, such as why is it wrong to hurt other people? And his answer was that, we have pain receptors that shows you it’s absolutely wrong to hurt others. Just watch how she responds.

Police questioned over legality of Kansas newspaper raid in which they caused death and injury

AP: Police questioned over legality of Kansas newspaper raid in which computers, phones seized

MARION, Kan. (AP) — A small central Kansas police department is facing a firestorm of criticism after it raided the offices of a local newspaper and the home of its publisher and owner — a move deemed by several press freedom watchdogs as a blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution’s protection of a free press.

The Marion County Record said in its own published reports that police raided the newspaper’s office on Friday, seizing the newspaper’s computers, phones and file server and the personal cellphones of staff, based on a search warrant. One Record reporter said one of her fingers was injured when Marion Police Chief Gideon Cody wrested her cellphone out of her hand, according to the report.

Police simultaneously raided the home of Eric Meyer, the newspaper’s publisher and co-owner, seizing computers, his cellphone and the home’s internet router, Meyer said. Meyer’s 98-year-old mother — Record co-owner Joan Meyer who lived in the home with her son — collapsed and died Saturday, Meyer said, blaming her death on the stress of the raid of her home.

A two-page search warrant, signed by a local judge, lists Newell as the victim of alleged crimes by the newspaper. When the newspaper asked for a copy of the probable cause affidavit required by law to issue a search warrant, the district court issued a signed statement saying no such affidavit was on file, the Record reported.

Why did Matthew mention "except for sexual immorality" for divorce but Mark and Luke didn't?

Mark 10:
1 And he left there and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan,
that's the location
and crowds gathered to him again. And again, as was his custom, he taught them.
2 And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” 3He answered them, “What did Moses command you?” 4They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.” 5And Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ 7‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,a 8and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
10 And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter.
target listeners: disciples in the house
11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, 12and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”
Here inside the house, Jesus didn't mention the exception: sexual immorality.

Matthew 19:
1Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
same location as Mark 10:1
2 And large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. 3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, Again, Pharisees were around. “Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?” 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” 7 They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” 8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”
Jesus mentioned the exception in the hearing of the Pharisees.
10 The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”
Jesus often spoke to the disciples privately afterward.
11But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given. 12For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”
It seems that Jesus mentioned the exception clause publicly to the Pharisees (Matthew 19:9) and didn't repeat it privately to his disciples afterward (Mark 10:11).

Now, it seems that Luke 16 took place in a different setting/occasion:
14The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. 15And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
16“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it.e 17But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void.
18“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
On this occasion, Jesus did not mention the exception.

The three sayings happened at three different times.

No path

There seems to be no path to become a believer. For Saul there was a flash of light. But for most people, it seems that they way you become a believer, is to really, really believe. Then you are saved, and you know you are saved because you really, really believe you are saved.

The problem is that I don't believe... so I can't feel forgiven and saved, I don't feel reborn... precisely because being reborn in Christ IS believing you are reborn.. and nothing ing else apparently.

But what about after you really, really believe... Do you ever get confirmation....
Did you? But don't expect any change.. correct?

Nebraska judge allows abortion limits, restrictions on gender-transition surgery

A Nebraska judge on Friday rejected an effort to block a ban on abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy and restrictions on gender-transition surgery.

Bestbuy discriminating against Christians recorded.

A bestbuy employee has a audio recording of being told that he isn't allowed to have anything Christian related in his office while management argues that "pride" related items are perfectly acceptable. He is also interviewed in the video discussing how after he tried to ask why he isn't allowed to have anything christian related to a HR type of person that even more pride related stuff showed up.

If you don't want to allow Christian related items in the work place ok fine, it's a work place intended for work and you're on their property and on their clock, but you can't deny a Christian while over indulging gay pride.

More people need to know about this because while I am not a pastor or preacher or someone out spreading the word, I do feel it's a duty of all Christians to defend each other and to defend God. And in today's society slowly around the edges were seeing a small erodding of god from our society and places like bestbuy are helping that happen by trying to surprise God but put pride people up on a pedestal.

Of course I am not surprised. This is from a company that was recently exposed as not allowing white employees to be in the management training program.

Believe in yourself?

There is a health aspect to that in the sense of self-respect and confidence in terms of human psychology. However, as Christians, we are to put God first. Luke 14:
26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.

God dwells in us. John 15:
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Phillipians 4:
3 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Proverbs 3:
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

There is a warning in Jeremiah 9:
23 This is what the Lord says: ‘Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches.’

Should a Christian believe in himself?

I'd rather focus on God than on myself. He is infinitely wiser than me :)

The blood of the covenant in the Old and New Testaments

Exodus 24:
8 Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Matthew 26:
27 [Jesus] took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
In the OT, Moses sprinkled the blood on the people. In the NT, we symbolically drink the blood to get it inside us.

Hebrews 12:
24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel
i.e., blood that cried out to God.

Three chapters earlier in Hebrews 9:
18 Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. 19For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” 21 And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
This described a type of Christ's sacrifice and blood sprinkling. They used dried hyssop as a handle and wool to soak up the blood for sprinkling. The true type was described in:
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation)
Instead of a human high priest, the true type has Christ as the high priest.
12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Instead of animal blood, the true type is the blood of Christ.
13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

This blood of the new covenant gets inside us to purify our conscience to serve God.

Jesus said: Surely I am coming SOON. Really?

The Bible ended with Revelation 22:

6 he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”
7 “behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done."
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.d Amen.
As modern readers of the prophetic book of Revelations, should we ignore the idea that it is coming soon since the word "soon" seems to mean thousands of years?

No, we should not ignore that. We should interpret that according to its broader historical, cultural, and literary context. Here is mine:

The emphasis here, as elsewhere in the NT, Jesus wanted every generation to be ready for his second coming.

Exactly when will that be?

Jesus himself answered in Matthew 24:

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
The more important question is this: Am I ready to welcome Jesus' coming?

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! :)

What Taking Communion Symbolizes

It was the time of the Passover. Satan had now entered into Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus’ 12 disciples, and he went out and betrayed Jesus to the death. But Judas Iscariot was still with Jesus and the other disciples for the Passover meal. And during the meal…

Luke 22:19-20 ESV

“And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’”

Now this is something we do as Christians at the gatherings of the church, but perhaps not in all such gatherings. And we call this “taking communion.” It is the time when we as the body of Christ collectively reflect over what Jesus Christ did for us in dying on that cross for our sins and in being raised from the dead. We bring that to remembrance as we drink of the fruit of the vine and as we eat of the bread. But this is a time, not only of reflection, but of worship, thanksgiving, prayer, self-examination, and repentance, too.

[Jn 6:48-58; 1 Co 10:16-22; 1 Co 11:23-25; 2 Co 13:5-7; 2 Pet 1:10-11]

Now this time of remembrance is not to be taken lightly, and it is not to be only a religious practice or ritual we go through. And these symbols of the bread and of the fruit of the vine are not only symbols of Jesus’ death on that cross for our sins, but they symbolize the purpose for why he died on that cross which was to deliver us out of our slavery (addiction) to sin and to give us new lives in Christ, no longer to be lived in sin and for self, but to be lived now in obedience to our Lord in walks of holiness (Romans 6:1-23).

And not only that, but our taking of the cup and of the bread is symbolic of us participating with Christ in death to sin and in living to righteousness. And remember here the words of Jesus when he said that if we would come after him that we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity, but if for Jesus’ sake we give up our lives of sin to live for God, then we have eternal life (Luke 9:23-26).

So, not only is the lesson here that this remembrance of what Jesus did for us is not to be in form only, but it is to encourage us strongly to be putting what he did for us in practice in our daily lives. For it is also a warning to us that if we do not die with him to sin but we hold on to our old lives of living in sin, that we will not inherit eternal life with God. For Jesus also said that not everyone who says to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one DOING the will of God (Matthew 7:21-23).

“Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world” (1 Corinthians 11:27-32).

So, please take this to heart. For we cannot just go through the motions of religious practice and expect that God will be pleased with our lives.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

By Joachim Neander 1680 tr. By Catherine Winkworth 1863

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near;
Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee;
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
If with His love He befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord, oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him;
Let the Amen sound from His people again,
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
