What Was Mary Doing When Gabriel Appeared?

If You Believe in Christmas, It Would’ve Been in May. I decided it was a beautiful Spring Day with soft breezes blowing. The harsh Middle East winter was in the past, and March and its roaring winds had come and gone. Balmy April, with its showers, had nourished the earth and coaxed new life from old growth.

That morning she had dressed in a hurry to get outside, joyful and content in her teenage world. She was proud of her tunic, having spun and woven the fabric herself. She had another one safely stored for best wear. Breakfast of bread and figs done, she’d rushed her morning chores, eager to get away from her younger siblings.

Donald Trump to visit Scotland amid US court action

If he leaves the country, will he return to face charges?

I need a breakthrough

Lord, I am at one of my lowest points in life today. I know I cannot ask You for anything, because I am judgemental, bitter, ungrateful, and with a lot of luggage. But I am so tired, Lord. I am overwhelmend, overtired, overworked and overstressed and it has been going on for years. I am tired Lord. Why I can never rest? Will there ever be a breakthrough for me? Will I ever have a time of rest? Will I ever be able to reconnect with myself? With that sparkle that gave me joy and purpose, that made me want to write, to laugh and to pray? Too much work and too much worry. I have no voice to pray anymore. Help me Lord. Do something. Do not let me drag in this for more years. I am old, and tired. Where are You? I know I do not deserve anything, but I need You!

New laws imposing strict abortion limits fail in South Carolina and Nebraska, despite GOP majorities

Conservative dissenters block abortion limits in Nebraska, South Carolina

The failure of strict new abortion laws to advance in two conservative-dominated legislatures on the same day this week signaled a mounting fear among some Republicans that abortion bans could lead to political backlash.

A near-total ban on abortion failed Thursday in South Carolina, just hours before a six-week ban fizzled in Nebraska. Abortion remains legal in both states until 22 weeks of pregnancy.

While it was [all 3 GOP] women who helped defeat the measure in South Carolina, in Nebraska it was an 80-year-old man who stalled it. Sen. Merv Riepe, a longtime Republican who would have been the decisive vote to advance the bill to a final round of voting, abstained over his concern that the six-week ban might not give women enough time to know they are pregnant.

Conservatives have pushed GOP leaders to seize the opportunity to enact strict bans, but voters across the country have repeatedly demonstrated their strong support for abortion rights, striking down antiabortion amendments even in conservative states like Kentucky and Kansas.

During a particularly heated debate, some Republican lawmakers opposed to the near-total ban said that abortion foes sent them plastic spines and notes urging the recipients to “grow a spine.” The move only seemed to strengthen their resolve.

After the South Carolina bill died Thursday, Students for Life Action, the political wing of the Students for Life antiabortion group, posted on Twitter, telling supporters “not to be fooled by fake pro-life Republicans.”

Several Republican-led states have successfully pushed through abortion restrictions this year, despite public opinion. In Wyoming and North Dakota, lawmakers passed new legislation outlawing almost all abortions. And Florida’s Republican-led legislature passed a six-week abortion ban earlier this month, which was signed into law hours later by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

[Despite the failure of the near-total ban in SC,] a separate six-week ban in South Carolina already passed the Senate and could still become law this session if the House passes the bill before it ends in six days.

A prayer to really overcome our predominant passions

One of my favorite prayers is composed by Blessed James Alberione, an Italian priest, Church communications visionary and founder of the Pauline family. Called “To Overcome the Predominant Passion,” it, in true Blessed Alberione style, gets straight to the point without beating around the bush, as our prayers (or at least mine) sometimes can.

It goes like this: “Jesus Master, you have said: ‘Truly I say to you: whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my Name, he will give it to you.’ So, in your Name I ask for victory over my predominant defect (pause). Here me, O Jesus.”

How marvelous is that? First, it forces you to identify — if you haven’t already — and then articulate the biggest barrier to holiness that you battle (that darn “predominant passion”); second, it exudes with confidence and trust in God that he will be able to bring about “victory” even when you might be doubting your own ability to harness your biggest faults (see: your predominant passion); and third, it contains a clear “ask” rooted in humility. When you pray that prayer, for example, you know exactly what the goal is, you know God will be there with you — and you know that the only blockade to success is one’s own self. In order to overcome our “predominant passion,” we have to be willing to put in the work. Alberione’s prayer is also bold and direct — maybe even a little demanding. The “so” makes me smile every time — as if we’re saying, “You promised this, Lord. It’s time to make good.”

Is the Eucharist a Symbol, or Is It Real? Why not both?

In the introduction to his classic Catholic Catechism, Fr. John Hardon describes well the perennial challenge of the Catholic Church to strike a balance between the manifold and false “either/or” propositions that constitute the great heresies and errors of Church history and what Fr. Hardon called the truth of “the eternal and.” For example, the pantheist says the universe consists of God alone. The material is mere illusion. The materialist says it is all and only matter. The truth is, it’s both. The Protestant says we are saved by “faith alone”; the various Pelagian sects say it is by “works alone.” The truth is, it’s both. The Monophysite says Jesus is God alone; the Arian (or the Jehovah’s Witness today) says he is man alone. The truth is, he’s both. The list could go on and on.

So it is with the Eucharist. For many, there are only two options. Either it is a symbol or it is Jesus. I know this was my thinking when I was Protestant. “When Jesus says, ‘This is my body,’ or ‘Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man,’ it is obvious he is speaking symbolically,” I would say. “Bread and wine were to nature what Jesus Christ is to our super-nature. Bread and wine are obviously excellent symbols of Jesus Christ.” In my mind as a Protestant, if I could show communion to be symbolic, I had proved my point. The idea of “both/and” was never even a consideration.

Futurist Only The History of the Confusion of Eschatology

I find it fascinating to examine all the various views of eschatology and how they originated. There is so much confusion that has resulted from everyone having parts of the truth but never the whole truth. My research hasn't just been about trying to find the facts but also the history of how the truth has been hidden (usually deliberately). There's enough material for my next book but I'm going to try to lay it out. Most likely everyone will find here something offensive to their base assumptions.

The history of the calendar is probably the most important thing to start with. From the very start God set the sun and moon in place in order to signal exactly when His appointments (Feast Days) should happen. Originally the year was 360 days and the moon cycle 30 days exactly. This can be seen in details given about Noah's flood, the calendar given during the Exodus and the meeting time arranged between David and Jonathan.

The calendar changed significantly and suddenly at some point. This new calendar of 365 1/4 days and moon cycle of 29.5 days threw the majority of ancient cultures out of sync and caused massive problems for them. Many records exist that describe cultures had to suddenly add 5 or so days to the year in their system after about 700 BC. One source for this is in Albiruni's work. Another is in the Bible during the reign of King Hezekiah. God gave him a sign that the sun would change position. After this an entourage from Babylon came to visit to ask what had happened to change the calendar.

Ezekiel contains a subtle reference to this new calendar arrangement. The Jewish calendar now needed an additional month added every 2 or 3 years. This intercalation month follows the Metonic cycle of 19 years. The Jews were one culture that developed this cycle based on their need to observe the first sliver of the moon after the New Moon phase and tying the start of their year to the ripeness of the winter barley in order to determine when to observe the Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits. This system lasted until the destruction of the second temple. After this, the sacrifices could no longer be made and the population began to lose the connection with the winter barley. As they were forced to disperse they could no longer even observe the state of the harvest and needed to come up with an entirely calculated calendar across the vast distances. Also, the head religious leaders actively buried any prophetic fulfilments that Jesus was the Messiah. So in around 350 AD, the modern Jewish calendar system was enforced. This made Passover occur usually 1 month before it had been and it hid the actual year that Jesus died on the cross and resurrected. The Metonic cycle they used was actually shifted by 1 year to that which was in place when they relied on observation during Biblical times. Almost no one recognizes this fact and this has only recently been discovered. This is one reason why consensus Christianity thinks Jesus' crucifixion happened in 33 AD and not actually in 31 AD.

As an aside and proof, the relationship between 360 day year/30 day moon and 365.25 day year/29.5 day moon can be investigated using Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion. It shows this could not have been any other way.

This modern Jewish calendar now obscures the proper interpretation of the 70 Weeks prophecy in Daniel and the 430 day prophecy in Ezekiel. No one can understand these correctly unless the proper observed Jewish calendar (and associated Metonic cycle) is used. That's why there is so much confusion about these very important prophecies. But it gets worse. Now we have to contend with the specific anti-semitic issues that the Roman Catholic Church introduced around that time. Constantine and his head religious leaders enshrined anti-semitism into their religion from the start. They said anyone who celebrated Easter at the same time as Jewish Passover should be excommunicated and therefore no longer be part of society. In actual fact they were working with some part of the truth. The new Jewish calendar did in fact celebrate Passover at the wrong time of when it should have been celebrated and they recognized this. However, instead of enshrining the proper calculation for the Passover, they put in a different calculation and renamed it Easter which then combined the Pagan spring festivals of the female fertility goddess (and Easter sunrise) into the state religion. In addition they had no understanding of Jewish culture and the Feast day rules, so they assumed the crucifixion happened the day before the weekly Sabbath (Friday) and not on the special Sabbath before the Feast of First Fruits (Wednesday of that year). Jesus' prophecy of 3 days and 3 nights has been totally confused from that point as there are not 3 literal days between Friday and Sunday.

Even if all of these things were corrected, most modern Christianity would still not have a complete and proper understanding. One other major deliberate decision was made that affects us all to our modern age. Our New Testament is based on Greek and not the original language it was written in - Aramaic. The tradition of using Greek manuscripts is again mostly a result of anti-semitism and reaction to not use the "language of the Jews". Hebrew was a dead language during the time of Jesus Christ and the second temple age. The exile in Babylon had forced them to adopt the lingua franca of the time - Aramaic. While it is very similar to Hebrew (and Arabic, for that matter), the population forgot how to speak it (check out Ezra). They had translated the Old Testament into Aramaic and this is what they used in their synagogues. They did not use the Greek Septuagint as is commonly stated. The Jews wanted absolutely nothing to do with Greek culture. They had revolted against Antiochus Epiphanes only centuries before. They held Jews who knew Greek in disdain ("hellenizers"). Their religious texts actively discouraged anyone from learning Greek. Josephus contains several passages where this is described in detail. He even had to serve as translator between the Romans and the Jerusalem population during the 70 AD siege. The Romans didn't speak Aramaic. And the Jews did not understand Latin or Greek (the lingua franca of the West).

So the Roman Catholic Church enshrined the Greek manuscripts. This was especially true when the break happened with the Church of the East. They used and still use the Aramaic manuscripts - the Peshitta. The western Church after the Reformation continued to use the Greek based on tradition and due to ignorance of even the existence of the Church of the East. This continued until the 1800's when there was much renewed scholarship of newly discovered manuscripts from the middle east area. The Aramaic manuscripts were being newly translated. These scholars revealed that the Church of the East claimed the Peshitta was the original language that the New Testament was authored in. They showed that many problematic passages (especially some sayings of Jesus) suddenly were understandable because of errors of translation from Aramaic to Greek. They showed that the problems with differences in the many Greek manuscripts could be explained due to various translation and copying errors of the original Greek translators. They showed that the Greek displays disjointed grammar and awkward structure leading them to invent a term called "Koine Greek" - a Greek never spoken but only found in written form. The other main document where Koine Greek is found is - the Septuagint - a known translation of Hebrew into Greek. This type of grammar results from the specific decision to translate word for word as it is found in the Aramaic manuscripts in order to preserve the original intent and phrasing.

And very recently another major proof has been discovered. The Bible code phenomenon shows so many equi-distant letter spacings in the Old Testament that it is statistically impossible that it was solely human authored. God must have been involved. Many people have tried to find the same proof in the New Testatment - using the Greek. No one has been able to find the same number and quality in the New Testament. However, some have investigated the Aramaic Peshitta. And they do find the same number and quality of Bible codes within the Aramaic manuscripts. This shows that God wrote his Word in the Old Testament using Hebrew (and some Aramaic) and the New Testament using Aramaic.

I'll stop here for now. As you can see, our modern age of Christianity has inherited many, many corruptions from across the centuries. And these have not been corrected mostly due to human ego and stubbornness and our sin nature. However, when we do humble ourselves enough to investigate and recognize that we have been in error, many prophecies, problematic passages and wrong theology suddenly resolve themselves and the confusion is removed. And that is why I find this discussion so interesting. In the comments, you can see examples of all the issues that I have laid out.

If you want to know more, there is a series of videos that explains a lot of this in great detail:

Budweiser is not now, nor ever will be, your friend

For many Catholics, it came as a shock when Bud Light hired “trans influencer” Dylan Mulvaney to sell beer. What is going on here? Isn’t Budweiser the beer of flyover country, construction workers and dive bars? Why would they do this?

But these questions don’t get at the most serious problem for a Catholic. Isn’t it good to believe the truth and bad to believe falsehood? Isn’t it true that male and female are different by nature in God’s creation?

Dylan Mulvaney may say he is a female, and even believe it, and follow some stereotypes for women. But aren’t all these things false? And isn’t it always harmful to live by lies, not by the truth? And isn’t it deeply, deeply wrong to “influence” others, especially young people, to take pleasure in lies? So, why is Budweiser selling beer by promoting something that is deeply wrong?

Budweiser has no stake in the heartland

No member of the Godhead takes control of your life. You have to practice self-control. You have to overcome sin and temptation! Part 1

I have heard so many false statements in my years that I am beyond getting worked up when I hear them. (Well, almost, lol) Some are more ludicrous than others. Some are more stupid than others. Some are more far-fetched than others. And some are more cringe-worthy than others. None of these "sayings" are found in Scripture.. They are all made-up slogans that become "Traditions of Men."
There is one that I hear periodically that really irritates me. Some person will give their "testimony" about how he/she was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Of course, they were always "hard-core" addicts with habits that ran into "thousands of dollars" daily. And then, after "praying/calling out to God, God miraculously not only takes away the "addictions," He also takes away any desire." Sigh, this just isn't true! 1. No way to verify the piece of fiction. 2. I researched but could not find any evidence of a drug addict also being an alcoholic. Different drugs, different highs, different effects. 3. Talk to any former drug addict, alcoholic, or smoker, and they will all tell you the same thing; while they have overcome the physical and mental side of their past addictions, the desire never goes away. They will always crave what they have broken away from. I know sheep who were once hooked on something. God never took their "desire" away.

But this only covers a very limited number of people. What I am about to address is an attitude among millions of pseudo-believers that after one "gets saved," a member of the Godhead will take control over their life and enable them to live a sanctified, holy life. They are no longer able to sin. To use a simple example, one of these people believe that even if tempted, one member of the Godhead, or all three, will "prevent" them from committing sin. As if one of these is walking down a candy aisle, lusts after a certain candy bar, and actually reaches out to steal the candy bar but will be physically prevented from grabbing the candy bar.

This nonsense is taught by one or two slogans, "God/Jesus/Holy Spirit" will change your life," or "Changed lives." Some even say God/Jesus/Holy Spirit will take control of your life. None of these "slogans" are in Scripture. Just a thought. If one of the three takes control of your life, does that mean you still have "free-will?"

After being immersed in the Holy Spirit, the sheep become a new creation. This is not a "new them," like they have been remade or "new and improved". Rather they are a new creation. Not new, as in the sense of renovation or recreation, but new, kainos, fresh, of a new kind, recently made. What is the new creation? It is the spiritual birth of a sheep. It is a new spiritual man being born of God's will, John 1:13. A new creature that didn't exist before. Instead of being a natural man, a sheep is now a spiritual man who lives in opposition to the prison flesh of the natural man.

Here is how Jehovah does things under the Renewed Covenant. Jehovah mentioned this the first time all of the way back in Deuteronomy.

Deut 30:6 "And Jehovah will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your sons to love the LORD thy God with all of your heart and all of your being..."

Isn't this a command for believers?

Deut 6:5 (This is part of the Shema) And you will love the LORD your God with all of your heart, soul, and might. Deut 11:13.

Yeshua said this was the greatest commandment! Mat 22:36-38

Besides being the greatest command, it is obvious that millions of Jews in the Old Testament, for thousands of years, did not obey this command. Why is that?

There are hundreds of verses in the O.T. where Jehovah, His prophets and leaders commanded the Jews to obey Jehovah, Ex 19:5, Lev 22:31, Deut 5:32-33, 11:1.
But we know that throughout the history of the Old Testament, only a very small percent of the Jews faithfully and continually obeyed Jehovah. Because while Jehovah commanded, it was up to the individual Jew to obey. The problem was that the Jews who disobeyed were natural men with evil hearts. Hearts of stone. These were men who lived according to the lusts of the flesh.

Scripture is very clear, describing the hearts of natural men. Substitute the word "mind" for the heart. When Scripture speaks of the heart, it is speaking of the mind. These verses describe the minds of natural man.

Gen 6:5 The thoughts of the mind were continually evil

Gen 8:21 For the thoughts of natural man's heart is evil, starting in his youth.

Jer 17:9 The mind of a natural man is decitful, above all else. His mind is wicked..."

Ecc 9:3 The minds of the sons of man are evil and full of madness.

We know, according to Scripture that the natural man, represented by the flesh, is at constant war with Jehovah, Yeshua, Holy Spirit, Scripture, and the sheep. We know the flesh hates God, Yeshua, Holy Spirit, Scripture, and the sheep. We know the flesh loves to sin, loves to satisfy itself, and is arrogant, selfish, and self-centered. The flesh cares nothing about Jehovah or obeying Jehovah. Whether you like it or not, whether you believe it or not, Jehovah created Adam with a sin-nature, not a capacity to sin. Scripture does not descrobe Adam as perfect. The sin nature was passed on to Eve because she was made out of the same substance as Adam. Fathers pass on the sin nature to their offspring. This is one of the main reasons Yeshua could never have been born of an earthly father; He would have been born with a sin-nature!

So, since natural man will refuse to believe or obey Jehovah, why do some Jews, a small percentage, obey Jehovah? Because Jehovah put something inside of Able, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Ezra, Nehemiah, etc., that overrode the flesh and sin nature and created a desire and ability to obey Jehovah. These men weren't "chosen" by Jehovah because He saw that they would "choose" to obey Him. He created them to obey Him!

Is 43:7 Every person that is called by my name (called by others as one of Jehovah's) I have created him for my glory. I formed him. I made him. (The way they are)

Is 64:8 O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, You are the potter. We are all the work of your hands.

Jer 1:5

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay? From the same lump, He made one vessel a vessel of honor and another a vessel of dishonor.

In the Old Testament, we observe that Jehovah has to do some work on the natural man to enable the natural man to obey Him.

Ps 119:35 Make me to go in the paths of thy commandments...

Ps 119:18 Jehovah, open my eyes, that I may behold wonderous things out of Your law.

Ps 119:27 Make me to understand the way of your statutes.

Now, hundreds of years later, we come to a description of how Jehovah will work among the sheep under the Renewed Covenant.

Jer 24:7 I will give the sheep a mind to know me and know that I am their God. They will be my people and I will be their God. They will return to me with all of their mind.

Jer 31:33 But this will be the (Renewed) covenant that I will make with the (spiritual) house of Israel. After those days, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their minds. I will be their God and they will be my people.

Eze 11:19-20 I will give them one mind(unity) and I will put a new spirit inside you. I will take the stoney (natural) heart out of their flesh and will give them a mind towards me. That they (will want to) walk in my statutes and ordinances, and they will perform them. They will be my people and I will be their God.

Do you see everything Jehovah has to do for His sheep to obey Him? Jehovah is doing all of the work neccessary for a sheep to be a sheep! There is nothing in here about Jehovah "asking permission" or "seeking cooperation" from the people in order for Him to work!

Dan 4:35 "...and He does according to His will...among the inhabitants of the earth, and none can stay (interfere with or prevent from working) His hand..."

Ps 115:3 But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever He pleases to do.

Does Jehovah do this for all people? of course not!

Eze 11:21 But as for them whose mind walks after detestable things and abominations, I will repay their way upon their head.

Rom 1:28 And as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind.

"Gave them over" means Jehovah abandoned them. As Jehovah, He could have given them a new spirit and a new mind, but He said, "Nope, I ain't gonna do that." Can you understand that if Jehovah wanted everyone to "get saved," He could and would make that happen? Jehovah could have put a new spirit and mind into Hitler, Stalin, Mao, King Leopold, Grengas Khan, Charles Manson, and Ted Bundy if He had wanted to save them! Nothing is impossible for Jehovah! 2Thes 2:13

Eze 36:26-27 I will give you a new mind. I will put a new spirit inside you...I will put my spirit inside you and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will hold on to my judgments and will preform them.

Eph 2:10 For we (the sheep) are (a result) of His workmanship...

Heb 8:10, 10:16.

Everything spoken of here is spiritual work! The Renewed Covenant operates in the spiritual. Salvation is through the spiritual, not the natural mind and flesh. Everything is understood through the spiritual mind, not the natural mind of the flesh.

Ok, so what we have is not that the Godhead is going to prevent the sheep from sinning, rather Jehovah gives them the desire, will, and ability to obey Him. Whenever you see the word "power" in the New Testament, replace it with the word ability. In the case of the candy bar, you were tempted, or rather your flesh is tempted. But because you are a sheep you not only remember the 8th commandment, your spirit doesn't want to steal the candy bar, even though your flesh does. Because you have the spirit and mind that Jehovah put within you, and you are led by the Spirit.
The biggest battle all sheep face is between the flesh and the spirit. Sheep sin when they allow the flesh to take over!

Testing the Spirits

1 John 4:1-3 ESV

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

Now I am going to begin here by stating that we need to test these words here against the rest of Scripture, and it helps to use an interlinear to understand what this word “confess” actually means, too. For this is not saying that if someone just makes a verbal confession of Christ as having come in the flesh that it means that person is from God. All of 1 John up to this point debunks that idea alone. And the word “confess” literally means to be in full agreement with and alignment with, which is evident in other ways.

Well, let’s think about this for a moment. First there is the Scripture which speaks of Satan’s (the devil’s) servants masquerading themselves as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:12-15). And then we are warned against false prophets who come to us in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. We will recognize them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-23). And then we are warned against those who teach a different doctrine other than the one Jesus and his NT apostles taught (2 Peter 2:1-22; 1 Timothy 1:3-7; 1 Timothy 6:3-10; Jude 1:3-23; Matthew 24:11-14; John 10:1-15).

So, what this tells us is that a person can verbalize a confession of Jesus as having come in the flesh but be a wolf in sheep’s clothing or a servant of the devil masquerading himself as a servant of righteousness. So, just because someone says something with his lips doesn’t mean at all that is what he truly believes or that what he confesses truly represents what is in his heart. For the way these false teachers are able to deceive the people is by making verbal confessions of Christ as Lord and as having come in the flesh, etc. But the way they deceive is through the doctrines that they teach.

So, in order to properly test the spirits to see which ones are of God and which ones are not, we need to do more than just look at what a person professes with his lips. For liars and deceivers abound who will profess one thing with their lips while they will live another. And they will say the right words to convince others that they are of true faith but in order to gain their confidence so that they can deceive them. For they will tell enough truth to be convincing while they begin to insert lies in with the truth to deceive.

And then if we look at these character traits of these false teachers, and if we see these character traits in those professing Christ as Lord, that should be an indication to us that these people are not of God, as well as we must test what they are teaching against what Jesus and his NT apostles taught (in context). So, one character trait of them is that they are liars and deceivers, and they are also lawless, for they do not obey the Lord and his commands (New Covenant), in practice. Many believe and are teaching that we do not have to obey the Lord or repent of our sins. Bad sign right there!

They will deny Jesus’ words and his teachings by the things that they teach, and they will deny him, too, by their actions. They will create their own gospels out of their own imaginations which are not consistent with the Scriptures, in context. Often these false doctrines are taught via Scriptures pulled out of their contexts and made to say what they do not say. For these liars are haters of righteousness which is why many are teaching against obedience and against repentance. And they are giving their adherents carte blanche to continue in deliberate and habitual sin, only now without guilt.

Many of them are also those who are sexually immoral, who are full of lust and greed. They are shepherds who feed only themselves and not their flock. Many are wild, uncontrolled, and undisciplined and they are teaching their followers to be wild at heart, too, and to be followers of the flesh and not of God. For they themselves are followers of the flesh and are those who wander from the truth and who follow after lies. For they are ungodly people engaged in ungodly deeds, and they are leading others to do the same. For they are worldly people devoid of the Holy Spirit (see noted verses above).

1 John 4:4-6 ESV

“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

Now, here again we must test these words against other Scriptures, because this is not saying that everyone who professes to be a child of God and a believer in Jesus Christ is truly from God and has overcome those who are liars and deceivers. And it doesn’t mean that everything we verbalize is from God and that everyone should listen to us and that if they don’t that they are not from God. Now, if what we are teaching is from the Scriptures, clearly in agreement with the full context of what is being taught, then those who are truly from God should be those who will listen to us. I agree!

Now I want us to take a look at what the first 3 chapters of 1 John teach so that we have the correct context here. For in 1 John 1 we read that if we say we are in fellowship with God while we walk (in conduct, in practice) in darkness (sin, wickedness), we are liars. And in 1 John 2 we read that if we say that we know God but we do not keep (obey) his commandments (New Covenant), we are liars. And we read in 1 John 3 that whoever practices righteousness is righteous, but whoever practices sinning is of the devil. So we are not of God and they are not of God if what we practice is not of God.

So, we are of God if what we practice is dying daily to sin and to self, and righteousness, and obedience to our Lord. We are not of God if what we practice is sinning against our Lord, unrighteousness, and disobedience to our Lord and to his commands. And we should be teaching what the Scriptures teach in their context, and if we do, those who are also of God, in truth, should thus listen to us. But alas, many who claim to be of God are listening to the liars and deceivers, instead, and they are not listening to the truth, but they are rejecting the truth in favor of the lies.

So, test the spirits against the full context of these verses mentioned here and what they teach, including the ones I will yet post. For many liars disguise themselves as true believers in Christ in order to deceive you. So, test everything you read or hear or think you see in prayer against the fullness of the Scriptures and what they teach us under the New Covenant so that you are not led astray by those who fake their Christianity. And then follow Jesus in obedience and live holy lives to the glory of God, by his grace.

My Sheep

An Original Work / June 24, 2012
Based off John 10:1-18 NIV

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

Why the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) is the Lord's Day, in the Bible

In the Bible the weekly Sabbath is Saturday - the 7th day of the week. From Friday Evening to Saturday evening.

So it is no wonder that when the gospels say that Jesus was raised on the first day of the week - everyone knows that this means our Sunday. This is easy and obvious.

The Catholic Church document "the Faith Explained" asks the question about "changing the LORD's day from Saturday to Sunday" like this -

1965 -- first published 1959 (from "The Faith Explained" by Leo Trese page 243)

"we know that in the O.T it was the seventh day of the week - the Sabbath day- which was observed as the Lord's day. that was the law as God gave it...'remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.. the early Christian church determined as the Lord's day the first day of the week. That the church had the right to make such a law is evident...The reason for changing the Lord's day from Saturday to Sunday lies in the fact that to the Christian church the first day of the week had been made double holy...
nothing is said in the bible about the change of the Lord's day from Saturday to Sunday..that is why we find so illogical the attitude of many non-Catholic who say they will believe nothing unless they can find it in the bible and yet will continue to keep Sunday as the Lord's day on the say-so of the Catholic church"

I fully agree with - "in the O.T it was the seventh day of the week - the Sabbath day- which was observed as the Lord's day. that was the law as God gave it."

I fully agree with - "nothing is said in the bible about the change of the Lord's day from Saturday to Sunday"

Some will say "I don't care what the Catholic position is" but this idea of a "Change" for the Bible Sabbath from Saturday (the 7th day) to the first day is also mentioned in the Baptist Confession of Faith and in other denominational documents across the board.

Why then are they so clear on the fact that the Sabbath is the Lord's Day - and that a change was made via some sort of tradition - but not mentioned in the Bible.?

Is 58:13
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,

Mark 2:27 "The Son of man is LORD of the Sabbath"

Is 66:23 says that for all eternity after the cross and in the New Earth - "From Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL mankind come before Me to worship"

So no wonder in Acts 18:4 EVERY Sabbath they gather for gospel preaching in the synagogue - as Paul preached to both gentiles and Jews
No wonder in Acts 13 the GENTILES ask for MORE Gospel preaching to be scheduled for "The NEXT Sabbath" and then the next Sabbath almost the entire town shows up to hear it.

All Bible scholars know the following -
1. There is no text saying 'the first day of the week is the Lord's day"
2. There is no text saying 'the first day of the week is the holy day of the Lord"
3. There is no text saying 'the first day of the week is My holy day"
4. There is no text saying "every week day one they gathered for gospel preaching"
5. There is no text saying "the Son of Man is LORD of week day 1"
6. There is no text saying "week day one is now the Sabbath of the LORD thy God" or "is now the Lord's day"
7. There is no text says "the gentiles asked that more Gospel preaching be given to them - on the next week day 1"

Some will say "well that just adds more weight to the Catholic Document quoted above stating that there is nothing in the Bible on that point". And of course that is true it does add weight to that part of their statement.

==========================================

"They [the Catholics] allege the Sabbath changed into Sunday, the Lord's day, contrary to the Decalogue, as it appears, neither is there any example more boasted of than the changing of the Sabbath day. Great, say they, is the power and authority of the church, since it dispensed with one of the Ten Commandments."

—Augsburg Confession of Faith, Art. 28, par. 9.

"They [Roman Catholics] allege the change of the Sabbath into the Lord's day, as it seemeth, to the Decalogue [the ten commandments]; and they have no example more in their mouths than they change of the Sabbath. They will needs have the Church's power to be very great, because it hath dispensed with the precept of the Decalogue."

—The Augsburg Confession, 1530 A.D. (Lutheran), part 2, art 7, in Philip Schaff, the Creeds of Christiandom, 4th Edition, vol 3, p64 [this important statement was made by the Lutherans and written by Melanchthon, only thirteen years after Luther nailed his theses to the door and began the Reformation].

Worried about “believing” false teachers

Hi everyone!

I’m posting this today because I found myself in a situation that causes me great worry. So,for those of you who know me well,I’m a afflicted person of anxiety, and often times when I worry, which is always manifested on biblical matters,I seek reassurance and Christian advice for the matter.Well for a long time now I’ve been lax in being on guard and worried I’ve “believed”some false teachers,I cannot point out who,but one in particular is Kenneth Copeland. Now honestly I know deep down Copeland is a demonic satanic tyrant,it’s always the “what ifs” on false teachers. For example:I saw on Google images by someone obviously calling Copeland out on his lies and the scary part abou the matter was copeland dared mutter that God told him”he could save the world” unfortunately my mind went to the “what ifs” as to say, what if he means lead people to be saved?” A twisting of the simple meaning.Unfortunately I can’t shake the emotional acceptance of these what ifs.Honestly,Copeland deserves nothing more than fiery judgement for being a rotten liar.

But the part that worries me the most is I do a lot of Bible info searching, such as meanings behind verses, advice on certain things correlating to my struggles, etc. and I’m uncertain if I foolishly may have read something by someone false.

I’m saying this today because I was reading 2 John and he wrote to the widowed woman over the danger of false teachers. Also many people who know me know I’m absolutely petrified and Terrified of apostasy,it’s my deepest darkest fear, and the Bible speaks strongly of the danger of being swayed by false teachers.

Another thing is that i don’t feel much conviction, something that is greatly worrying me.I don’t feel any conviction,I confess sins regardless if I feel conviction or not.

Overall I’m very worried over the lack of feeling conviction and even more worried because I feel apathetic about posting here.I don’t want to trouble any brothers or sisters.

China protests over U.S. prosecution of Chinese police officers

"Chinese Ministry of Public Security filed solemn representations and protests with the U.S. law enforcement agencies over the prosecution of Chinese law enforcement officers, a spokesperson from the ministry said on Wednesday.
The U.S. Department of Justice has maliciously concocted the so-called "transnational repression," fabricated evidence and flagrantly prosecuted 40 Chinese police officers, the spokesperson said."

Apparently some countries are not happy about China establishing illegal police stations of their own within their nations to "help" Chinese nationals get back to China. China is a sad panda about it :(

Hello

I just found this site while searching for Christian forums.
My name is John and I've been a Christian since a teen.
I currently attend both a non-denominational Evangelical church as well as a Baptist church.
I am a big fan of Dr. Thomas Horn and Skywatch TV. I have read many of his books and am aligned with their end-times prophecy approach. I would like to find similar discussion groups and, ultimately, prophecy conferences in the US that my wife and I could attend (1, 2, or longer-day conferences). Going to a live conference is the ultimate with the new friends one can make and the fellowship.

If anyone knows of any prophecy conferences, please let me know.

Thank you and God Bless everyone.

DeSantis signs bill criminalizing speech in Florida while on a trip in Israel

I have typically been a DeSantis supporter until recently. But this latest measure is outrageous.

H.B. 269 codifies in law the concept of "hate speech" --something that exists nowhere in the US Constitution. The bill is promoted by the ADL, Israeli government, and left-wing politicians in the state, but has the support of DeSantis as well. Among other things, the bill:

" The bill would prohibit Floridians “from distributing onto private residential property any material that evidences religious or ethnic animus for purpose of intimidating or threatening [the] owner or resident.” It would also prohibit harassing or intimidating people “wearing or displaying of any indicia relating to any religious or ethnic heritage,” such as kippahs and other items of religious Jewish attire. "
Anyone found in violation of the law will be charged with a FELONY

And while this bill is being promoted under the cover of combating "Nazis" (its always Nazis), it would open the door to all kinds of authoritarian abuse, such as:
  1. Charging a Palestinian activist with a felony for handing out flyers on a private college campus criticizing the treatment of his people by the Israeli government
  2. Charging a Falun Gong member with a felony for "intimidating" Chinese people at an airport by handing out flyers or copies of Epoch Times
  3. Throwing someone in jail for sending an angry letter to the house of a Jewish legislator. Doesn't matter what the letter says--the lawmaker is Jewish, and he feels "intimidated"
  4. Attaching a flyer on someone's doorknob that simply lists the Jewish members of Biden's cabinet (this was actually the thing that got the bill started) could land you in prison
  5. Holding up a sign that says "no men in women's sports" at a speech at a private university could be a "hate crime"
  6. Handing out Bibles in front of a store, or handing out flyers that contain Gospel messages at a shopping mall, could get you charged.
I could go on and on In Jerusalem, DeSantis says U.S. should not “butt in” when it comes to Israel’s affairs - Florida Phoenix

Mental Illness and the Democrat Party: Exhibit 3000

Go here to read the story. Arizona Democrat, Presbyterian minister, caught repeatedly swiping Bibles in congressional lounge as "playful commentary" on church and state An ordained Presbyterian Ministress, and so filled with hate towards Christianity that she engages, on video, of a game of hiding the Bible. I can see the humor in this situation but make no mistake that the raw hate which motivates her is not humorous at all.
