#20 in Christian persecution, Mauritania

Country rank 20

Region North Africa
Population 4 902 000
Christians 11 000

20MAURITANIA

Mauritania does not allow freedom of religion; it is illegal to leave Islam and follow another faith. Converts from Islam to Christianity face very severe pressure from their communities, perceived as bringing shame on the family and likely to be shunned and physically abused. If they make their faith public, Christians can be accused of apostasy in a religious court, with severe consequences, or charged by the authorities with terrorism or cyber-crime offences. Christians have been detained and prosecuted for ‘undermining national security by insulting Islam and threatening Mauritania’s sacred principles’.
It is very difficult for Christians to meet or worship together, and almost impossible for believers who have converted from Islam. Even foreign nationals (such as aid workers or migrants) holding Christian meetings could be seen as evangelising to local Muslims – for which they can be prosecuted.
Meanwhile, violent Islamic extremist groups, including a branch of al-Qaeda, are active in the eastern border regions of the country, posing a danger to any Christians discovered there.

Who am I in Christ?

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 ESV

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

It is very popular in today’s Christian culture here in America to hear people talk about “Who I am in Christ.” Largely I hear this spoken in regard to people professing faith in Jesus Christ but who are still living in deliberate and habitual sin. And to alleviate the guilt, even while they are engrossed in sinful behaviors, they are being told to claim who they are in Christ, as though how they live has nothing whatsoever to do with who they truly are.

But just because a fish calls itself a donkey, it does not make itself a donkey. And who we are, in reality, is not who or what we claim to be, but who or what we are in practice, in reality, not just in the imagination. And “in Christ” is not who we are just because we claim it with our lips. For example, I can go around claiming to be an accountant, and I can claim all the attributes of an accountant for myself, but if I am not an accountant, just claiming it with my lips does not then make me one.

So, what does it mean to be “in Christ”? To be “in Christ” requires that we have been crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. And it requires that we now walk according to the Spirit, in practice, and no longer according to the flesh, and that sin is no longer our practice, but that righteousness and obedience to our Lord are now what we practice. For if sin is what we practice, and not obedience to our Lord, we don’t know God, and we do not have eternal life in him.

And to be in Christ requires that we continue in these walks of faith and obedience to our Lord until our Lord returns for his bride. For our salvation is progressive, and it will not be complete until our Lord returns for his bride and he takes his faithful ones to be with him for eternity. So to be in Christ is to remain in him, steadfast in faith and obedience to our Lord. It does not mean we live in absolute sinless perfection (1 John 2:1-2) but that we are walking in holiness and in righteousness in obedience to our Lord and not in deliberate and habitual sin. For if sin is what we practice, we will not inherit eternal life with God.

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

So, be very careful about claiming to be something and someone you are not, in reality. For claiming to be a sheep doesn’t make you one. Being born of God and of the Spirit and then living like a sheep is what makes you one. So, if you are still living in deliberate and habitual sin, and if righteousness and obedience to our Lord are not what you practice, then according to the Scriptures you are not one of the Lord’s sheep, and what you are being taught as truth is not the truth that is in Christ Jesus.

“But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:20-24).

So, what does it mean to be “in Christ”?

• Crucified with Christ in death to sin (Rom 6:3-7)
• Raised with Christ to walk in newness of life (Rom 6:3-7)
• Dead to sin and alive to God (Rom 6:11)
• Obedience to Christ leading to righteousness (Rom 6:16)
• Set free from law of sin and death (Rom 8:2)
• Walk not according to flesh but according to Spirit (Rom 8:1-17)
• Minds set on God’s Spirit (Rom 8:1-17)
• Debtors, not to live according to the flesh (Rom 8:12-13)
• By the Spirit put to death deeds of the flesh (Rom 8:13)
• A new creation: the old gone, the new come (2 Co 5:17)
• Crucified with Christ; no longer I live, Christ in me (Gal 2:20)
• Faith working through love (Gal 5:6)
• Faithful in Christ Jesus (Eph 1:1)
• In Christ might be to the praise of his glory (Eph 1:12)
• We are his workmanship, created for good works (Eph 2:10)
• Truth in Christ – put off old self, put on new self (Eph 4:20-24)
• Not living in sin, not making sin practice (Gal 5:16-21; Eph 5:3-5)
• Suffer for the sake of the name of Jesus (Php 1:29)
• Have same mind and attitude as Jesus (Php 2:5-8)
• Saved by Grace and called to holy calling (Eph 2:8-9; 2 Tim 1:9)

So, don’t just claim it, live it! And if you are not living it, then please don’t claim it. For that is hypocritical to claim what you are not. For we are what we do, not who we claim to be, and not just who we think we are. So be true to who you say that you are.

I Will Lift My Eyes

An Original Work / December 12, 2012
Based off Psalms 121-125

I will lift my eyes to my Lord Most High.
My help comes from Him, who saved me from sin.
He will not let your foot slip, and He who watches will not sleep.
Our Lord watches over you, and your life He will keep.
I will lift my eyes to my Lord Most High.
My help comes from Him, who saved me from sin.
I give thanks to Him.

I will lift my eyes to my God in heav’n.
I look to the Lord. My sins, He’s forgiv’n.
Because of His great love for us, He made us alive with Christ.
Through the kindness of our Savior, He gave us new life.
I will lift my eyes to my God in heav’n.
I look to the Lord. My sins, He’s forgiv’n;
My home, now in heav’n.

Praise be to the Lord, who is on our side.
Our help found in Him. He gives peace within.
Those who trust will ne’er be shaken. God will supply all we need.
Our Lord has done great things for us. He’s our friend, indeed!
Praise be to the Lord, who is on our side.
Our help found in Him. He gives peace within.
I can count on Him.

Self-Denial

I am reading now in the book of 2 Corinthians.

Paul had just written the Corinthians about the affliction that he had faced where he and his companions despaired of life and felt that they had received the sentence of death. But then he praised the Lord for the deliverance they received from God. And then he spoke to them in reference to a previous communication in which he knew that he had caused them pain, which could be a reference to 1 Corinthians, chapter 5, when he admonished them concerning the man who was in their midst, who was living in immorality, and of their need to deal with that issue appropriately.

For then he went on to tell the Corinthians that it was now time to forgive the man, although he did not specifically say who the person was. And he stated that the punishment given by the majority was enough for him, and so they needed to reaffirm their love for him. And then he spoke of how, when he came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, that his spirit was not at rest because he did not find his brother Titus there, so he took leave and went on to Macedonia. And that leads into today’s passage of Scripture:

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 ESV

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.”

So, let’s look at the context here to help us to understand what this is saying to us. Paul had victory over Satan when Satan was attacking him via other people to the point to where Paul and his companions despaired of life and felt the sentence of death. And Paul was victorious over the enemy when his admonishment to the Christians appeared to result in this man repenting of his sins so that now it was time to restore him back to fellowship with the body of Christ. For it is always a point of rejoicing when painful but necessary correction results in what is good and right and godly.

So, it appears here that Paul was expressing praise to the Lord that his ministry, which was of God, and which was being led by the Spirit of God, resulted in victory over the enemy and in changed lives and in deliverance from enemy attacks. It is always a blessing when we can see the fruit of our labors, for we can’t always see them, at least not in this life. But it is encouraging when we can actually experience and hear of and witness the good results of our acts of obedience to the Lord Jesus, not because we need praise, but because we rejoice in the good being done in others’ lives.

And it is always good when we can experience victory over Satan and against his evil plots against us, and when his attempts to destroy us are overpowered by God’s grace and mercy in our lives. And it is good, too, when we can see the positive results of our walks of obedience to our Lord, for that encourages our hearts. And it is so encouraging when we have the freedom still to spread the truth of the gospel and to know that it is reaching people far and wide, and that it is making a difference in other people’s lives for the glory and praise of God, and for their good.

And we who believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives should all be ministers of the gospel of our salvation, and we should all be proclaiming the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light (1 Peter 2:9). So we should all be engaged in spreading the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ/God everywhere, in victory over darkness, and in leading the people to forsake their sins and to follow the Lord Jesus in walks of holiness and righteousness, in obedience to our Lord.

But not many are going to rejoice over what we are sharing with them, especially if we are telling them the full gospel message, the whole counsel of God, and if we are not cutting the message of the gospel short in order to make people feel good or in order to not offend them with the truth. And a lot of these people who will reject what we are telling them are those who profess faith in Jesus Christ, but with a false profession of faith via a false gospel message which is telling them lies which are sending them to hell.

But those who they are listening to are speaking from the flesh, and not from the Spirit of God, for the Spirit does not speak lies, but the truth. So if you are being convinced that you can make a one-time profession of faith in Jesus Christ, have all your sins forgiven, and now be guaranteed heaven as your eternal destiny, regardless of how you live, and absent of denial of self, death to sin and to self, and of walks of obedience to our Lord, then you are being fed lies, and not the truth.

For Jesus said that if anyone would come after him that he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow him in obedience. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity. But if for the sake of Jesus we die to sin and live to his righteousness, in his power and strength, then we have the hope of eternal life with God. For Jesus said that if we deny him (by our actions) he will deny us when he returns (Luke 9:23-26; cf. Romans 6:1-23). Also:

Songs in the Night

An Original Work / December 18, 2013

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25 NIV ‘84

Lord, I praise You forevermore.
You, my Savior, I now adore.
Hope in heaven awaiting me,
Because You died at Calvary.

I have been forgiven,
And I’m bound for heaven.
Jesus set me free from
All my sin, I say.
I will praise Him always!

Lord, I love You for all You’ve done:
Overcame death, my vict’ry won!
Jesus saved me, and now I’m free!
I rejoice in His love for me.

I will walk in vict’ry!
My sin is but hist’ry!
I am free to please Him
With my life today.
I will love Him always!

Lord, I thank You for giving me
A new life bought at Calvary.
Loving Jesus, I meet with Him.
Tender mercies now flow within.

Lord, I am so thankful;
Through my Lord, I’m able
To sit at His table;
Fellowship with Him.
I will thank Him always!

Death Resulting in Life

Video Talk

2 Corinthians 4:1,7-12 ESV

“Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart… But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you.”

“The ministry” Paul was addressing here was the ministry of delivering the message of the gospel to the people. But the gospel that he taught is not what many people are teaching today. He taught what Jesus taught which is that we must, by faith in Jesus Christ, die with Christ to sin and live to him and to his righteousness, in obedience to our Lord, by the grace of God and in his power and strength. The old self must be crucified with Christ so that we can be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer living as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness.

And that is why he and the other apostles were being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ and for sharing the truth of the gospel, because they didn’t teach what many people are teaching today. For they renounced disgraceful and underhanded ways, and they refused to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word. But they taught Christ crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. And they taught us being crucified with him in death to sin and us being raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, not like our old lives, but now as servants of righteousness and holiness.

For we don’t just “get saved” and now all our sins are forgiven and heaven is guaranteed us when we die regardless of how we live. And obedience to our Lord and death to sin and living to God and to his righteousness are not optional, and they are not mere suggestions. But many people these days aren’t even suggesting that we live holy lives, but they are teaching that we do not have to repent of our sins, and that we do not have to obey the Lord, and that no works are required of us at all, because they are appeasing the flesh and they are ignoring so much of what the Scriptures teach.

So, when this says that we have this treasure in jars of clay, this is not suggesting that the Lord will use us despite our lifestyles, and regardless of how often we deliberately sin against him. For, as jars of clay in the hands of the Master Potter, we are being molded into the likeness of Jesus Christ, as we yield control of our lives over to our Lord. And what this means for us is that we are always carrying in our bodies the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our bodies. So, we are to be those who are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Therefore, we are those who have been crucified with Christ in death to sin, and who have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer living as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. Daily we are to be putting self and sin to death, by the Spirit, and walking in holiness and righteousness, in obedience to our Lord, in the power and strength of God. And this means surrendering our lives to the Lord and to his service, being willing to be hated and persecuted for the sake of the gospel and for the sake of the salvation of human lives.

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

Lyrics by Frances J Crosby, pub. 1875
Music by Robert Lowry, pub. 1875

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.

Children’s Choir Stopped Mid-Performance While Singing National Anthem at US Capitol

In a shocking turn of events, the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir was interrupted and stopped while singing the National Anthem in Statuary Hall at the United States Capitol.

The children, part of the esteemed Rushingbrook Children’s Choir, had traveled to Washington, D.C. last Friday, May 26th, for a scheduled Capitol tour and had received prior approval to sing a short set of patriotic songs inside the historic Statuary Hall.

However, as their angelic voices filled the grand hall while singing The Star-Spangled Banner with pride, Capitol Police rudely intervened, insisting that the children stop singing immediately. The abrupt interruption stunned the young performers, the choir director, and the assembled audience.

The Capitol Police did not allow the young children to finish the song and sought to explain to the choir director that singing the national anthem at the nation’s Capital is considered a form of protest.

Does dysnoetas mean nonsense?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum so please be patient with me if I'm doing anything that isn't proper on the forum. I wanted to get some clarification on 2 Peter 3:14-17. I read a few blog posts from Jesus' Words Only by Douglas del Tondo and wanted to get people's opinions and rebuttals. I know the forum has talked about him and his blog in the past so I apologize if I'm bringing up things the forum feels it has dealt with already, but some things on there seemed pretty convincing. I'm not convinced of everything the author puts forward, but I really have no way to verify if his translation of dysnoetas or "things hard to understand" in verse 15 means nonsense, in the sense that Peter was saying Paul's writings were nonsense (I know zero Greek). I'd appreciate some feedback from you all who have studied Greek. Thank you! Would love @Der Alte perspective on this; after lurking for a while, I can tell the guy knows his stuff.

Bible banned in Utah school district

Bible Banned From Utah School District

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Good Book is being treated like a bad book in Utah after a parent frustrated by efforts to ban materials from schools convinced a suburban district that some Bible verses were too vulgar or violent for younger children.
The 72,000-student Davis School District north of Salt Lake City removed the Bible from its elementary and middle schools while keeping it in high schools after a committee reviewed the scripture in response to a parental complaint.

A copy of the complaint obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune through a public records request shows that the parent noted the Bible contains instances of incest, prostitution and rape. The complaint derided a “bad faith process” and said the district was “ceding our children’s education, First Amendment Rights, and library access” to Parents United.

“Utah Parents United left off one of the most sex-ridden books around: The Bible,” the parent’s complaint, dated Dec. 11, said. It later went on to add, “You’ll no doubt find that the Bible (under state law) has ‘no serious values for minors’ because it’s pornographic by our new definition.”

Planned Parenthood celebrates ‘Pride Month’ with video of ‘transgender’ woman bragging about her abortion

Gender-confused woman boasts that killing her baby was an 'easy decision.'

(LifeSiteNews) — A gender-confused woman who goes by the name “Lucky” thanked Planned Parenthood for both her abortion and giving her “gender-affirming care.”

The abortion giant posted the video to kick off “Pride Month,” the annual celebration in June of the LGBT agenda, which is also named for the deadliest sin.

Planned Parenthood said it wanted to share her story to help ensure abortion becomes “normalized.”

“When it comes to your abortion, any reason is the right reason,” Planned Parenthood tweeted. “Telling your abortion story is important, and the more we talk about this essential form of health care [sic], the more normalized it becomes.”

“Hi, my name is ‘Lucky.’ I’ve had an abortion and I get gender-affirming care [sic] from Planned Parenthood. I wound up in a very, very difficult relationship. And within three months, I found out that I was pregnant,” the gender-confused woman says. “I was like, ‘oh, no.'”

She said her “abortion was one of the greatest acts of compassion” she had “ever committed.”

Glad to be on CF

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking the forums for a few weeks and decided to join up because I think it would be better to engage in some of the conversation rather than just watch from the side lines. I've been having problems with Paul as I found some blogs online that tried to depose him of his apostolic position, so any fellow Christians that have good resources on that topic, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also pretty new to using forums myself, so if I format anything incorrectly or fail to post links and such, then please be patient with me. Other than that I hope to have a pleasant time while I'm here and to grow in my faith and understanding.

Mass near Cleveland disrupted after priest discusses Dodgers controversy during Sunday homily...

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Bay Village priest is facing backlash after saying the church is “under attack” and referencing a pro-LGBTQ nonprofit in a sermon Sunday.

The Mass was interrupted when someone stood up and challenged the issue. Later, police were called to an incident outside of the house of worship.

During a service at St. Raphael Parish, the Rev. Timothy W. Gareau, the church’s pastor, referenced the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence being awarded the Community Hero Award by the Los Angeles Dodgers for service to the LGBTQ community.

“Look at the Los Angeles Dodgers. Look what’s happening. Defaming the name of Jesus Christ. Defaming the name of every Christian here on Earth. It just burns a hole in my heart, angers me and embitters me. And it should you,” he said during his homily, which was live streamed online.

The videos have since been removed from the church’s Facebook page.

ga'al

How many people here have studied the Hebrew concept of ga'al? It is epitomized in the book of
Ruth when Boaz purchases the right to buy back the rights of Naomi to the land of her husband and sons lost when a severe famine caused them to have to sell their rights to their inheritance and move to Moab.

To study this you need an e-Bible that has the KJV and Strong's Concordance, or use an online Bible such as the Blue Letter Bible and a Strong's concordance, or hardest of all, a concordance, a Strong's Concordance and a KJV Bible. There are several e-Bibles available for free online such as e-sword and Xiphos which will run on Windows.

The word redeemer in the OT comes from the Hebrew word ga'al which is #1350 in Strong's. The word redeemer is found 18 times in the OT and every time it is found it is a reference to Christ.

I did this study at least 10 years ago but lost it when my old computer was hacked as I had not backed it up. I had approximately 50 megs of notes from this study. The notes were sqaved in html so the actual volume was less than that but thaty is still a large quantity of noes as this concept is found in both th OT and NT and found throughout the writings of Ellen White. My notes included both Biblical and SOP quotes. It took me a few months to do the study which I spent several hours a day doing.

In all I found 220+ texts related to this concept in the Bible as it covers every aspect of our salvation including Christ purchasing back our dominion over the earth which Adam surrendered when he sinned.

This is a fascinating study and you will find that it will be a large spirirual blessing to you if you take it up. It certainly was for me. I found out a lot I hadn't known before about the plan of salvation and God's love for humanity.

Rainbow crucifix that uses ‘LGBT’ in place of ‘INRI’ is the ultimate mockery of Christ

The illustration demeans and desecrates the pivotal point in human history: the Incarnation, Passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(LifeSiteNews) — They say a picture is worth a thousand words. What about a profane illustration that demeans and desecrates the pivotal point in human history: the Incarnation, Passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ?

The illustration accompanies an online promotion of a play by Jesuit-run America Magazine’s LGBT-targeting publication, Outreach. But the play which it advertises is unimportant. However, the illustration and what it signifies is of grave concern.

To Satan, this is a priceless work of art. It is a symbol of victory, of his vain pride pretending to triumph over the cross of Christ. It is the ultimate mockery of Christ. And it has been thrust upon us just as “Pride Month” begins.

In the illustration, LGBTQ, “Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Questioning,” has dislodged the greatest title known to man: “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” It is an attempt to simultaneously erase every other superlative by which Our Lord and savior is known: The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, who has triumphed by His blood.

That's an odd strategy for Trump...

Not sure what his angle is on this one (apart from being an obvious, petty, and superficial attack on who he sees as his main rival)

But he's been taking a number of stances recently that could be seen as somewhat counterproductive given the base he's chosen to endear himself to over the past 6 years.

He appeared to side with Disney over DeSantis

Appears to be chastising others in the GOP for being "too strict" on abortion (not two months after bragging and taking credit for "killing Roe v. wade").

He also has been taking a "not so conservative stance" on certain entitlement programs.

Had he built his base off of the Chris Sununu/Larry Hogan centrist type of republicans, this strategy may make some sense.

However, he's spent a good part of the last decade trying to ally with and energize the most right wing part of the base, only to then run to the left of his main primary opponent?? Seems like a gamble.

Only thing I can figure is that maybe he has campaign advisors in his ear giving him the impression that he'll easily cruise through the primaries, and these more "softened" stances are part of a strategy to gain more moderate/independent votes that he was lacking (and caused him to lose to Biden) in 2020.

Or, perhaps I'm giving it too much thought and it really is just as simple as the short-sighted "ready, fire, aim" mentality he's become known for.
