  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The blood of the covenant in the Old and New Testaments

Exodus 24:
8 Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Matthew 26:
27 [Jesus] took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
In the OT, Moses sprinkled the blood on the people. In the NT, we symbolically drink the blood to get it inside us.

Hebrews 12:
24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel
i.e., blood that cried out to God.

Three chapters earlier in Hebrews 9:
18 Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. 19For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” 21 And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
This described a type of Christ's sacrifice and blood sprinkling. They used dried hyssop as a handle and wool to soak up the blood for sprinkling. The true type was described in:
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation)
Instead of a human high priest, the true type has Christ as the high priest.
12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Instead of animal blood, the true type is the blood of Christ.
13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

This blood of the new covenant gets inside us to purify our conscience to serve God.

Jesus said: Surely I am coming SOON. Really?

The Bible ended with Revelation 22:

6 he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”
7 “behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done."
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.d Amen.
As modern readers of the prophetic book of Revelations, should we ignore the idea that it is coming soon since the word "soon" seems to mean thousands of years?

No, we should not ignore that. We should interpret that according to its broader historical, cultural, and literary context. Here is mine:

The emphasis here, as elsewhere in the NT, Jesus wanted every generation to be ready for his second coming.

Exactly when will that be?

Jesus himself answered in Matthew 24:

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
The more important question is this: Am I ready to welcome Jesus' coming?

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! :)

What Taking Communion Symbolizes

It was the time of the Passover. Satan had now entered into Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus’ 12 disciples, and he went out and betrayed Jesus to the death. But Judas Iscariot was still with Jesus and the other disciples for the Passover meal. And during the meal…

Luke 22:19-20 ESV

“And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’”

Now this is something we do as Christians at the gatherings of the church, but perhaps not in all such gatherings. And we call this “taking communion.” It is the time when we as the body of Christ collectively reflect over what Jesus Christ did for us in dying on that cross for our sins and in being raised from the dead. We bring that to remembrance as we drink of the fruit of the vine and as we eat of the bread. But this is a time, not only of reflection, but of worship, thanksgiving, prayer, self-examination, and repentance, too.

[Jn 6:48-58; 1 Co 10:16-22; 1 Co 11:23-25; 2 Co 13:5-7; 2 Pet 1:10-11]

Now this time of remembrance is not to be taken lightly, and it is not to be only a religious practice or ritual we go through. And these symbols of the bread and of the fruit of the vine are not only symbols of Jesus’ death on that cross for our sins, but they symbolize the purpose for why he died on that cross which was to deliver us out of our slavery (addiction) to sin and to give us new lives in Christ, no longer to be lived in sin and for self, but to be lived now in obedience to our Lord in walks of holiness (Romans 6:1-23).

And not only that, but our taking of the cup and of the bread is symbolic of us participating with Christ in death to sin and in living to righteousness. And remember here the words of Jesus when he said that if we would come after him that we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity, but if for Jesus’ sake we give up our lives of sin to live for God, then we have eternal life (Luke 9:23-26).

So, not only is the lesson here that this remembrance of what Jesus did for us is not to be in form only, but it is to encourage us strongly to be putting what he did for us in practice in our daily lives. For it is also a warning to us that if we do not die with him to sin but we hold on to our old lives of living in sin, that we will not inherit eternal life with God. For Jesus also said that not everyone who says to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one DOING the will of God (Matthew 7:21-23).

“Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world” (1 Corinthians 11:27-32).

So, please take this to heart. For we cannot just go through the motions of religious practice and expect that God will be pleased with our lives.

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

By Joachim Neander 1680 tr. By Catherine Winkworth 1863

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near;
Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee;
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
If with His love He befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord, oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him;
Let the Amen sound from His people again,
Gladly for aye we adore Him.

Just some rambelings

We have been reading about David in Samual. I thought I would make a general comment about God, and man’s heart. Firstly God does not make mistakes, if He has called you to a thing He believes you can do it, but we need to wisely consider the way we go about His call. Saul was not chosen as a mistake God said when Saul failed to rule wisely:

1Sa 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

God said He had planned to use him in the same way as David, God said He would have established his kingdom over Israel forever. This was a reference to being of the lineage of Christ. Disobedience robbed Saul of this honor. This failure shows us how we, as people should never cease to rely closely on the LORD for His plan for us is great if we continue in Him, yet even the best man for the job can fail. David’s defeat of Goliath shows us another thing, God certainly knew David’s heart, that David had a heart of “massive” faith. David also had a heartfelt love for God, writing many of the Psalms. Yet now let’s look at the sad side of human nature, even the faith-filled, worshiping David fell into sin. Don’t be surprised if even the greats are not perfect, having fears, and doubts. But we should honor the faithful, and remain faithful in our own hearts.

God never overlooked sin, but we must remember that none of us will be perfect. Remembering to forgive one another in the same way Christ forgave us, not focusing on the “persons” faults, but allowing for growth as God forgave David:

Col 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

Storing unreliable energy

In the interests of talking about something else: anything else!

The problem with wind and sun is they are both unreliable.
So who has bright ideas for storing energy , or the product of energy, till needed, other than big batteries.
As electric car stats show , big batteries are not a great idea. The immediate Cost is much of the CO2 they purport to save.So it can be tens of thousands of miles before they are other than a negative impact!

The golden oldie is pushing water uphill, as the mountain reservoir at snowden wales does.

But im thinking more of such as windmills on north fuerteventura. canaries.
Desalination costs lots of energy. These desalinate water , and can stockpile clean water to use when wind isn’t blowing.
So the product of energy is “ stored” as desalinated water.
Great idea! A stable product.

So ideas …

What other energetic processes can be done locally to windmills , to allowing stockpile Of energy or product of energy?

Word Up!

John 1:1-5 NIV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

So the Word... Logos...
My sense of this word, and please help me understand it better, is that 'Word' means the saying, message, expression and action of God.
Everything God does outwardly, every Activity of God is 'God in Action'... So Jesus is God in action.
(That's what it's saying to me at the moment)
It's kind of like Being and Doing... God the Father is the Being of God, the Existence, Awarenes, Reality... and Jesus is the Doing of God..
.. Is that anywhere near the mark?

(That would also make the Holy Spirit an aspect of Jesus, Jesus (God) active in your heart)

Why was Jesus Hated?

Jesus Christ,
Who is the Son of God,
Taught the narrow way,
Not the way that’s broad.

Did not participate He
In the ways of man
But He followed God,
And He lived God’s plan.

Walked the narrow way,
Led a righteous life,
Obeyed God’s commands,
Free from sin and strife.

Shared the gospel truth,
He opposed the lies,
Called out hypocrites,
Told them they would die.

Said to follow Him
We must deny self,
Die to sin each day
And put self on shelf.

Said if we hold on
To our lives of sin
We will lose our lives
Not be forgiven.

If we die to sin
And we live to Christ
Free from sin’s dark grip,
In Him we’ll have life.

So, repent of sin,
Obey His commands,
Walk with Him in truth,
Your life in His hands.

Would like advise as want to give what I don’t need to those who can help poor to whom I can ?

I would like to give my belongings to those in need that I am not using now which is not my brothers things but it would take a long time to be able to sell to make money and may not be best at it so want to give to an organisation who can be trusted to seek to sell for fair price I thought perhaps Vincent De Paul would be easier though not to encourage such faith if I don’t know that I don’t care if have other Christian faith but how can I be sure they will and I think money should go to those most in need in poverty no food but don’t know if they give to them and don’t know who I should give to that I would like help to find appropriate organisation that will seek to sell for good price and give to those most in need.

End of the World

According to Catholic teaching we’ve been in the ”end times” since Jesus was crucified. What does the RCC teach about it? What I’m getting at is this, could it be thousands or even millions of years from now? I know there are people who make all kinds of predictions and I know that Scripture says ”no one knows when” it’ll happen but CAN it be that far from now?

What's it like to be an Anglican priest?

Elsewhere on the forum, @AlexB23 asked me, "So, what is it like to be an Anglican priest in general Mother Paidiske? How does that differ from say Protestantism, Catholicism or Orthodoxy?"

I couldn't answer properly there, so I thought I'd come and start a thread, and maybe others might like to comment or contribute as well.

It's an interesting question, and I'm not sure I can answer it, because I don't kow what it's like to be an Orthodox or Catholic priest, or a Protestant minister in another denomination.

I guess part of what I'd have to say is that it probably depends a lot on where in the world you are. I'm in Australia, and the Anglican church here is very different than it would be in some other parts of the world. Here, the Anglican church is (in general) aging and declining, and a lot of my work is about trying to help my parish community reconnect with its local community and discover new ways of building life together. My parish is gently growing, but that's hard work.

In general I have the impression that some other traditions expect their priests to be more authoritative; more of a "father knows best" model of ministry. Whereas the Anglican ethos is more that the priest is a resource and support to the people in their walk with God, but not someone who is there to tell you where or how to walk (if that makes sense)? We value collaborative leadership and a participatory model of governance, where laity are involved at every level.

I don't know if that answers your question much, but maybe it's a starting point for a good discussion!

WHAT DOES CHRISTIAN MEAN ?

There are many people that call them selves CHTISTIANS ,

The Greek word CHRISTIAN / CHRISTIANOS means that a person is a FOLLOWER of Christ , found in Acts 11:26 and in Acts 26:28 .

One church say that they began in Matt 16:18 as there beginning .

I as a MID-ACTS DISPENSATIONALIST use Acts 9:5 , 1 Cor 12:3 and 1 Tim 1:15 and 16 to prove Christianity began with SAUL/ Paul as this is where the BODY OF CHRIST began and 1 Cor 12:13 and Gal 3:28 . and Col 1:18 .

Others say it began with PETER in Matt 16:18 say that PETER / PETRA , I WILL BUILD/ OIKODOMEO which is in the Greek FUTURE TENSE , ACTIVE VOICE , and in the INDICATIVE MOOD , ACTIVE VOICE , and SINGULAR and believe that the BODY OF CHRIST could NEVER start in the OLD COVENANT and never in the NEW COVENANT ,

But who is the REAL STONE ?

In 1 Peter 2:4 we see who the real STONE IS , and called a Living STONE and disallowed indeed of men , who was Israel and that is why the Greek FUTURE TENSE in used , and will all happen in the MELLIENIUM . called the 1000 years reign of Christ .

The apostle Peter is dead and will NEVER start an EKKELESIA .

Christ is called A STONE of STUMBLING and a ROCK OF OFFENCE .

Kansas Police stage ‘chilling’ raid on Marion County Record newspaper, seizing computers, records and cellphones over public info not published

Eric Meyer, owner and publisher of the newspaper, said police were motivated by a confidential source who leaked sensitive documents to the newspaper, and the message was clear: “Mind your own business or we’re going to step on you.”

The city’s entire five-officer police force and two sheriff’s deputies took “everything we have,” Meyer said, and it wasn’t clear how the newspaper staff would take the weekly publication to press Tuesday night.

The search warrant, signed by Marion County District Court Magistrate Judge Laura Viar, appears to violate federal law that provides protections against searching and seizing materials from journalists. The law requires law enforcement to subpoena materials instead. Viar didn’t respond to a request to comment for this story or explain why she would authorize a potentially illegal raid.

A confidential source contacted the newspaper, Meyer said, and provided evidence that Newell had been convicted of drunken driving and continued to use her vehicle without a driver’s license. The criminal record could jeopardize her efforts to obtain a liquor license for her catering business.

[The newspaper suspected a friend of her husband (who is divorcing her) may have been the source. Although the DUI conviction is legitimate, the paper didn't run that aspect of the story.]

As a journalism professor in Illinois, Meyer said, he had graduate students from Egypt who talked about how people would come into the newspaper office and seize everything so they couldn’t publish. Those students presented a scholarly paper at a conference in Toronto about what it has done to journalism there.

“That’s basically what they’re trying to do here,” Meyer said. “The intervention is just like that repressive government of Egypt. I didn’t think it could happen in America.”

Just thinking about the ol' WMD situation

I recently saw a Matt Damon film about the early days of the WMD search. I'm just wondering, was anybody ever held accountable for the lies they told while starting an illegal war against another sovereign nation?

They seemed to tie it in with 9/11 and did a double attack on Iraq and Afghanistan. While spending about 20 years in a losing war in Afghanistan and crippling the economy and safety of Iraq. Did our military even find one WMD? I don't think so and GW Bush should be in prison IMO for the thousands of Iraqi, Afganistan, and US military deaths that his administration was responsible for. Not to mention all of the injured and disabled US military personnel for being put in an untenable situation that they could not fight their way out of situations without being forced to kill local citizens and be exposed to not only IED and gunfire but chemical cleanup that gave my brother-in-law terminal cancer (may he rest in peace)

Why isn't anybody talking about this fiasco of human lives being snuffed out and still struggling to get things like clean water and power for their people?

Joe Biden’s denials shift as evidence piles up about his involvement in Hunter’s deals

President Biden’s repeated denials that he participated in his son’s foreign business transactions or ever spoke to his son about them have shifted in recent weeks amid an accumulation of evidence from bank records and eyewitness testimony that show he likely played a pivotal role in securing the lucrative deals.

Mr. Biden opted to remain silent on Friday when reporters shouted questions at him about a new Justice Department special counsel investigation of his son Hunter Biden for crimes related to tax evasion, financial schemes and potentially for acting as an unregistered lobbyist for foreign entities.

The president has long denied involvement in his son’s business deals, but a House investigation has compiled evidence that Mr. Biden helped his family pocket millions of dollars by serving as the influential “brand” and popping in on phone calls and business meetings.

Mr. Biden, at an event Tuesday in Arizona, did not deny knowing about his son’s business deals but instead stated: “I never talked business with anybody.”

Texas first grader traumatized by poster of "different colored children holding hands"; school trustee works to remove such 'ideology' from classrooms

Conroe ISD trustee argues displays of racial inclusivity and pride in classrooms should be removed

One trustee says a child was traumatized by a poster showing different colored children holding hands and had to switch classrooms.

Dungan [the trustee] wouldn't say whether she found that poster objectionable, just that she wants to avoid "situations like that" by having the board adopt stricter standards and adhere to state policies already in place, prohibiting teachers from displaying political items not relevant to curriculum.

How does the bread turn into the body/flesh of Christ?

Jesus fed five thousand men in John 6:1-14 by miraculously multiplying five barley loaves and two fish.

The next day:
35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. ...
50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Note that the Jews did not ask: How does the bread turn into his flesh?

They did not think that. They did not think in terms of transubstantiation.

How should we understand this then?

Jesus explains;
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.”
We are to understand this in terms of spiritual life. Jesus multiplied the bread. We should believe this as a sign of his being the bread of life. Such a belief would cause us to grow spiritually. It feeds our spirit.

How does the physical bread turn into the physical flesh of Christ?

It doesn't. The bread is a sign for us to believe so that we can grow—not fleshly—but spiritually.

Give us this day our DAILY bread

Matthew 6:
11 Give us today our daily bread.
daily
ἐπιούσιον (epiousion)
Adjective - Accusative Masculine Singular
Strong's 1967: For the morrow, necessary, sufficient.

HELPS Word-studies:
1967 epioúsios (from 1909 /epí, "upon, fitting" and 3776 /ousía, "being, substance") – properly, aptly substantive, appropriate to what is "coming on" (happening), i.e. suitable (apt) for the coming day.

Benson Commentary:
As the original word, επιουσιον, here rendered daily, is not found anywhere else; neither in the LXX. nor in any Greek author, nor in any other part of the New Testament, save in the parallel passage in Luke, commentators differ in their interpretation of it. That given by Theophylact, one of the most approved of the Greek fathers, seems the best: “Bread sufficient for our sustenance or support:”

"Nicodemus" was a Greek name

John 3:
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
Strong's Greek: 3530. Νικόδημος (Nikodémos) — 5 Occurrences

"Nicodemus" was a Greek name, Thayer's Greek Lexicon:
Νικόδημος (νίκη and δῆμος (i. e. 'conqueror of the people')).
In fact, the English word Nike is from the Greek Νίκη (Níkē), from νίκη (níkē, “victory”).

Peter's Hebrew name was Simon. The Bible does not mention Nicodemus' Hebrew name. Paul was a Pharisee and we know his Hebrew name was Saul.

When John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to WHERE he was baptizing

NIV Matthew 3:
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
Actually the word "where" is not in the original Greek.

English Standard Version:
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism,
ἐπὶ αὐτοῦ βάπτισμα
he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

New American Standard Bible:
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

It seems that the Pharisees and Sadducees visited John desiring to be baptized by him.

Pulpit Commentary
The Gospel according to the Hebrews (Resch, 'Agrapha.' p. 343) says that they were in fact baptized, but we can hardly suppose this to have been the case after John's words to them. Observe that the Pharisees, with their self-conscious sanctity, were hardly likely to come to confess their sins, or the Sadducees to even listen to so ascetic a teacher.

Ellicott explained:
It is not easy to enter into the motives which led either of the sects to come to the baptism of John. It may be that they were carried away for a time by the enthusiasm of the people, or sought to guide the movement by controlling it, or to enlist the new teacher on this side or that. Anyhow, there was no repentance, and no confession, and so the Baptist met them with a stern reproof.

The Pharisees and Sadducees wanted to be baptized but John might not have baptized them. Matthew 3:
11a “I baptize you with water for repentance."

No repentance, no baptism.

诗篇130
Psalm 130King James Version (KJV)
诗篇130(KJV版本)
Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
耶和华啊,我从深处向你求告。
2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
主啊,求你听我的声音,愿你侧耳听我恳求的声音。
3 If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
主耶和华啊,你若究察罪孽,谁能站得住呢?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
但在你有赦免之恩,要叫人敬畏你。
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
我等候耶和华,我的心等候,我也仰望他的话。
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
我的心等候主,胜于守夜的等候天亮,胜于守夜的等候天亮。
7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
以色列啊,你当仰望耶和华,因他有慈爱,有丰盛的救恩。
8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
他必救赎以色列脱离一切的罪孽。
WORSHIP WHILST WAITING

There are so many words we speak every day, but some are more special than others.
Prayer is often seen as us talking to God and this is so true, but it is a two-way communication. One of the things that all of us hate doing, is to be kept waiting, in the bank, at the supermarket checkout, please hurry up is the cry.
So often we despise these times, you know these people were going to the temple to offer their sacrifices, they were probably in a long line of people waiting patiently. The times of waiting in your life are probably the most precious, the waiting times are not desolate they should be the times when God is most precious to us, it is in these times that God alone satisfies
It is not a time of silence, it is a time of worship, a time a rejoicing and a time of sweet fellowship with God.
We can cry out to God vs 1
We can praise God for all his mercies to us, for all his gracious forgiveness to us.
Next time You are kept waiting, don't complain, WORSHIP

MATTHEW 10
马太福音10
32 Whosoever, therefore, shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven.
“凡在人面前认我的,我在我天上的父面前也必认他;

33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.
凡在人面前不认我的,我在我天上的父面前也必不认他。”

CONFESSING JESUS
承认耶稣

Does this mean that we can lose our Salvation? NO
这意味着我们会失去救恩吗?不
As with everything in scripture, we cannot take one verse in isolation.
和经文中每件事一样,我们不能孤立地看一节经文。

I was thinking very deeply about this and was led to Romans 10:9-10 that reads as follows:
对此我深入地思考过,让我们读罗马书 10:9-10,经文如下,

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
你若口里认耶稣为主,心里信神叫他从死里复活,就必得救。
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.
因为人心里相信,就可以称义;口里承认,就可以得救。

The confession of sin and acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus Christ and who Christ is, is linked to believing in your heart. Salvation is the coming together of inward belief and outward confession.
承认罪,认耶稣基督为主,圣灵就依着信与我们相连。救恩随同内在信仰和外部承认一起到来。

Every time we fail, like Peter, every time we deny Christ and fail to share Him, Jesus accepts us before His Father; he is praying for us.
每次我们像彼得一样失败,每次我们否认基督,不与别人分享他,耶稣都在父神面前接纳我们,他在为我们祷告。

In 1 Corinthians 12, we read these words.
在哥林多前书12章,我们读到这些话。

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus says is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
所以我告诉你们:被神的灵感动的,没有说耶稣是可咒诅的;若不是被圣灵感动的,也没有能说耶稣是主的。

To honestly confess Christ is to speak words inspired by the Holy Spirit... the natural man cannot say these words, only the spiritual man can.
诚实地认基督就是讲述被圣灵所鼓舞的话...普通人不会讲说这些话语,只有圣灵充满之人才会。

In Verses 29-31, Jesus is stating that we are so much more valuable than anything else on the planet. That is the context of these verses, and afterward, in verses 34-36, Jesus is saying that he has come to disrupt/divide families, not to bring families together. Some families are all Christians, and we bless God for that, but for many, including myself and Helen, we are the only Christians in them. That costs us, but when we confess Jesus, He reveals us to His Father, at the point of Salvation, when we say, Jesus, You are mine. He says to His Father, this one is Mine, and Father, he is Yours. He/she has come and confessed to Me, and I have decided to show unto this world that he is Mine, and now I have the pleasure of confessing He/she before you.

What a wonderful honour!
多么美妙的荣誉!
God bless you.
愿神祝福你
