I really do not understand what you are saying, it does not make sense to me. If you are correcting me, please explain what you are saying. If you have a question about my comment, I will gladly try and answer.

What I do know is that "Faith over Fear" has a sin problem as he says, "I am trying to get sin out of my life!!!! ".

I was trying to help him find his way back into a place he wanted to be, with Jesus. This seemed important for "Faith and Fear" and his questions sounded urgent to me.

God hates sin. There are no differences in sinners, they are sinners. They come in all shapes and forms and sin for all kinds of reasons- just like you and me. We all have to build our faith to fight off sin and it takes work to do so- every day in every way. Supporting each other in Christ is our best choice to win the race against sin. Wouldn't you agree?
Faith over Fear appears to me to have anxiety issues. We get lots of folks who suffer from anxiety and OCD on CF. I thought you came on a bit too strong to be honest. They asked you "Are you saying as long as I have sin in my life I can’t have a relationship with God????" and it did kinda sound like that. Like you were stipulating sinless perfection. Support has to be measured. Some folks are pretty fragile.

You said God used to speak to you but no longer. I gave you the bible reference to explain what happens when you sin. If you want to have a relationship with God and He commands you not to sin, what do you expect from him when you knowingly sin? You are mocking Him. You have the choice not to sin. Nothing good is easy. God is nothing but good.

Galatians 6:7-8 ESV

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. [8] For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
I’m by no means any angel… I have to say I truly would never mean to mock God!!! I understand Jesus Christ is the only thing that matters and he should be exalted and lifted up. I’m striving to be worthy of his love…I will say in the past seven months I have made remarkable changes to be excepted by God… I was twelve when God first spoke to me. I made some seriously wrong choices and took some wrong roads and went astray. I’m 19 now and have done some stupid things yes…but I’m moving forward.... I am at the make it or break it point… My life is a mess. Some of it is completely out of my control. I know God hates sin!!! I am in a battle for my life spiritually right now. I haven’t had the benefit of a Christian home so I’m finding my own way. I don’t know How long it will be before I’m sinless perfection. I really don’t think that is possible? I’ve been trying to brain wash myself and Believe that God isn’t just interested in the people who’ve got it together. I don’t know? Anyway I’m not super biblically educated YET. I will be eventually... I’m not playing games about receiving salvation and serving God.. I want it to bad!!!! Once I get what I’m looking for I’m gonna be like white on rice and twice as hard to get off!!!!
I wanna know my blessed savior and love him like I’ve never loved before. I wanna be HIS !!!
I won’t quit… till I get what I want…. I hate to lose and this is one thing I can’t afford to lose…

Thanks-
Sorry I made that previous comment… didn’t mean to cause trouble….

I couldn't vote for anything on the list, however I do believe that in most cases, water baptism is required. In emergency death bed situations, I believe that stating Jesus is your savior or nodding your head when a preacher asks if you believe Jesus is your savior will also allow Jesus to advocate for you to the Father. If one is able, I believe that water baptism is required to enter the kingdom.

Welcome to the club.
I have to say I truly would never mean to mock God!!! I understand Jesus Christ is the only thing that matters and he should be exalted and lifted up. I’m striving to be worthy of his love…
None of us is worthy. That's why Jesus had to die for us.
I will say in the past seven months I have made remarkable changes to be excepted by God…
That's not how it works. What really happens is we seek God and God makes remarkable changes in us through the work of the Holy Spirit.
I was twelve when God first spoke to me.
Most or all of us have some high point in our relationship with God that we will never quite experience again. So don't set the bar too high.
I made some seriously wrong choices and took some wrong roads and went astray. I’m 19 now and have done some stupid things yes…but I’m moving forward.... It's not possible. The apostle Paul who was what we would call a chief among Christians, called himself the chief among sinners and a wretched man. So even the best of the best battled with sin.

I’ve been trying to brain wash myself and Believe that God isn’t just interested in the people who’ve got it together. I don’t know?
Those whom Jesus chose as his apostles were a long ways from having gotten it together. Peter especially, who's considered the chief apostle, certainly did not have it all together. Nether did Moses or David or anyone else God chose. But what they all had in common was their desire to get it together for God.
Anyway I’m not super biblically educated YET. I will be eventually... I’m not playing games about receiving salvation and serving God.. I want it to bad!!!! Once I get what I’m looking for I’m gonna be like white on rice and twice as hard to get off!!!!

That's what God wants to hear. What we supply on our end is genuine desire like you have expressed and then he helps us achieve those desires. Bit by bit, step by step.

Sorry I made that previous comment… didn’t mean to cause trouble….
You didn't cause trouble, you brought out the differences in people.

God's purpose for us is to glorify Him.
If only you could believe, you would see the light. Your sight may be swallowed by darkness but the light is still there. Look around, change your focus, and let the light find you.

The above is the first thing I read when I sat down to try and respond to your post, it made me think of this situation. I did not plan to write so much but apparently I had a lot to say which is nothing new!

I woke up to this feeling of being 19 like it was yesterday, and in a panic, no, more like a feeling of bouncing off the walls, no, that's not a good way to describe my feelings at the time either. I just could feel what we all feel when things seem to pile up, one on top of the other and there does not seem to be anywhere to turn that makes any sense. It's natural to have these feelings. Life is full of times when we feel the pain of something giving us trouble. Something making things difficult, if not impossible, to deal with in the moment. I remember my Mom used to tell me, "Think about good things". She didn't tell me not to worry, didn't tell me what to do.

No one can tell us what to do when we go through dark times. All we can do for each other is to try and comfort each other. So, in all my years I have learned many things that work for me and that I understand but that is for me, everyone else is different and what works for me may not work for them.

For example, I learned that whenever I go through pain of any kind, after it's over I always learn something really good about the situation or myself. I call it no pain, no gain. I never think of that while I am in pain and only understand how important it is, afterward. There is no point here but to tell you all of us go through pain and after we live through it, we have something to be thankful for. That's God's profound way of turning something bad into good if you can understand what I am saying. Another saying that follows this idea is, "If it doesn't kill you, it will make you a better man!"

What I see happening here, with you, is that you are experiencing a time of choice and you know that in your heart. That is the truth of the matter. The choice is really difficult to understand for you and you do not know which way to turn. That type of situation is also common for all of us, so you are not alone in your thinking. That is part of aging and maturing, we learn how to change from thinking like children to thinking like adults, or at least that is the idea.

So, God enters into this in so many different ways and I'm the one who has been appointed to tell you this apparently because I woke up and felt it necessary to pray about you, the people that challenged what I had said to you earlier and how to handle it all and I had no idea what to do. For me back at 19 and to this day also with how to handle this situation which seems impossible to get it all into words without sounding stupid or saying the wrong thing or mis-leading you or coming off like a know-it-all or putting the wrong idea in your head and on and on. Instead of going into frustration or making myself panic, or bouncing off the walls, I do/did what God leads me to do. I think about the good things I could tell you, and I thought about how easy things could be for you if you could go into the future 10 years- to only look back to now and realize how things just are not as they seem.

And how wonderfully things worked out and all the good things you learned. Or, because you kept doing what you keep doing, nothing changed and you remained in the same state of going nowhere fast or upward and onward. Another way of saying, "Keep doing the same [insert word here] thing, keep getting the same [insert the same word here] results." Choose a word- stupid, sinful, positive.

Choices are easy if you bring Jesus into your life. Choices become impossible most of the time when Jesus is not in your life. It's because we do what makes us feel good if we can. We have little self-control and make way too many bad decisions.

All these things I say to you come straight out of the bible. God's book of instruction to live successfully. When people judge you and label you or tell you to do this or that, that goes against what God teaches. You are for Jesus or you are against Him. If it goes against God then it is against Christ. It is anti-Christ.

People are going to make comments about what I am saying they are going to pick it apart and make it sound like something else, they do the devil's work because they have evil in their hearts. They do not have the Holy Spirit with them. But you know what I say is true because you understand it and that's because you have the Spirit of truth in your heart, that is obvious to me but not to the anti-Christ.

So, do you have a bible? If not, I like using the Blue Letter Bible. There is an app and an online version. It has mega resources for Bibles and associated tools to study God's word. In particular, what I like, is listening to a pastor who is long gone from the world but will live on forever because of his work recording his thoughts on every chapter and verse in the bible. He did this so that he could help those people willing to climb on board his bus and take a 5-year trip reading through the bible. His name is Vernon McGee and if you decide to check it out you can search him out and listen. It's just another way to learn and I think Vernon's style is what I can relate to and enjoy. You may like something else, the point is to use the tools that fit your hands because the work will be so much easier.

I bring this up because in your plight of not knowing which way to turn you could choose to refocus on that which is good for you because God is good, He will be good for you. And every time from now on you could stop and realize that when you start to have these uncomfortable feelings and start to bounce off the walls you can stop yourself and say, I can turn to God because God will never leave me or forsake me. He will always provide what I need at the time that He thinks is best for me. And you know that everything will come to pass and you will have made it through with God's help to become a better man. The most important thing is to wait for the Lord. You do not have to do anything else. He will, without a dought guide you at the time you need to move and go forward. Everything in any direction will be good. If it is bad, it is not God guiding you. Wait for the Lord. weight for the good. You have a lifetime. Patience is a virtue. This takes the pressure off you as you give your trouble to Him and WAIT FOR HIM. TRUST HIM. The truth will set you free.

This seems to me to be a good choice. I have lived a wonderful life in the truth. Challenging, difficult, painful, and with no regrets because of my strong faith in the truth and God. I have been blessed. As my life nears the end I see so many things differently and how important being young is. We have to remain innocent like children to enter the kingdom of God yet life in this world constantly tries to steal our innocence away. The balancing act God created between one extreme to the other (young and old, this or that, ying vs yang, black and white, up vs down, etc) is how he teaches us to survive throughout a lifetime, which in the short term or long term means coming to Him. How do we survive between two extremes? We have to have a standard to follow. Do you follow what is tried and true, God's word, or what you think or your buddies think? God tells us straight out not to trust other men. Not even your own family! It is all truth as said in the bible.

But who am I? Who could believe what I say So not rust me, I am just another man? Why does it matter?

All this is up to you. You should do the right thing and as I have signed, be well (take care of yourself physically and mentally) and good (do the right thing, live in the light and the truth) in hope ( keep praying in faith for those things you cannot understand or see).

I would not make that judgment or label someone as you have. I do not know what is in Faith over Fear's heart, nor do you. When you say "We get lots of folks who suffer from anxiety and OCD on CF",- who are we? Do you have a frog in your pocket? So people contact you and tell you these things? lol.

Do you know what is in my heart? What experience I have or do not have? You said, "Some folks are pretty fragile." What did I say to break anyone's fragileness? I did not label anyone or make a false judgment against them, you did. The truth is sometimes hard to swallow but the truth always prevails. Jesus is the truth. You are with him and the truth, or you are against Him.

Which are you Ceallaigh? Are you for Christ or against-Christ? Is it that you choose to sin regularly or just every once in a while? How much sin is ok for you? Or me? Do you expect to get God's fruits when you choose to sin? What about the good folks who do not choose to sin, should they get the same reward you do as a sinner? If so, what would be the reason not to sin?

Do you have a religion and serve a god of your own imagination- an idol (yourself) who tolerates sin?

God does not tolerate sin. You cannot maintain a fruitful relationship with God and choose to sin. You obey God or Dis-obey/neglect Him. If you obey you recieve His fruits. If you disobey or neglect Him, He will discipline you. You will be separated from Him.

[26] "Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: [27] "the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today; [28] "and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. - Deuteronomy 11:26-28 NKJV

[4] In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. [5] And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, [6] because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son." [7] Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? [8] If you are not disciplined--and everyone undergoes discipline--then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. - Hebrews 12:4-8 NIV

We as in the members of the forum. If you stay around long enough you'll see what I mean. They usually say outright that they suffer from anxiety issues and OCD. And yes, they also contact me through private messaging seeking further assistance.

There are liberal secular types who basically think it's okay to sin and refer to the type of verses you quote as "clobber verses". And then there are those who are struggling. The faint of heart and the troubled. When it comes to the former, I tell them the same things you are saying. When it comes to the latter who are in fear, I try to take it easy on them.

Even John MacArthur who teaches a very strong Lordship Salvation message is gentle when gentleness is needed:

I do have a Bible ( King James Version )

King James is hard for most people to understandith. I often read the bible on my phone using biblegateway. The default translation it uses is a lot easier to read.

It happens. Some here have thought I'm a girl.

Quick story:

One day the devil decided to have a yard sale. He put all his tools out on a table. A man came by and asked the devil what was the most special tool on the table? The devil picked up a worn out wedge and said this is the most special. I’ve used it alot. The man asked why is this tool so special? The devil said well a wedge divides things. First I use it to divide Christians from God. Then I divide the home and once I’ve got that I’ve got the church. You see this tool is very special…………………

————————————————————————
I am living in a divided home. My parents won’t speak, ride or sleep with each other. The devils wedge has surely worked. But it only worked because we gave the devil place in our home. We put a for sale sign on our house.

Resist the devil and he will flee!!
We welcomed him in our home and entertained him. Now he doesn’t want to leave.

Don’t give the devil place in our relationships with fellow believers!
Division Has no place in Christianity!!! We all need to focus on the one goal Jesus!!! Not the path we take to get there. We’re all gonna have differences but let’s agree Jesus is the almighty KING Of KINGS!!!!

This has been on my heart today just thought I’d share it.

Could you explain to me salvation in fullness. How do I know for sure without a shadow of a doubt I’m going to heaven. I had believed I was saved at twelve but I don’t know anymore. I attend a baptist church but I believe I’m non denominational . I don’t know???? I want to do right and live for Christ. I pray and pray but I don’t hear Gods voice anymore. I use to have this can’t help but shouting feeling but now it’s gone!!

How do you know you have receive God's free gift of Eternal Life and will spend eternity living with God. Have you believed in Jesus for God's free gift of Eternal Life (salvation), that is do you believe Jesus is the resurrection and the life, the promised Messiah / Only begotten Son of God. If so you have received God's free gift of Eternal Life and are a permanent born again child of God.

Assurance does not rest in actions you are doing for God, feeling you have or thinking you are hearing God's voice. Assurance solely rest in God's promise, that all who believe in Jesus have crossed over from death to life and will not come into judgment.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

If you simply can not believe this promise from God, then you will never truly have permanent assurance during your life physical earthy life.
------------------
J. Wilbur Chapman tells the following true story of how D.L. Moody used John 5:24 to help him gain assurance of salvation:

I was studying for the ministry, and I heard that D.L. Moody was to preach in Chicago. I went to hear him. Finally I got into his after meeting. I shall never forget the thrill that went through me when he came and sat down beside me as an inquirer. He asked me if I was a Christian. I said, “Mr. Moody, I am not sure whether I am a Christian or not.’

He very kindly took his Bible and opened it to the fifth chapter of John, and the twenty-fourth verse, which reads as follows: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and beleiveth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.”

Suppose you had read it through for the first time, wouldn’t you think it was wonderful? I read it through, and he said, “Do you believe it?”

I said, “Yes.”

“Do you accept it?”

I said, “Yes.”

“Well, are you a Christian?”

“Mr. Moody, I sometimes think I am, and sometimes I am afraid I am not.”

He very kindly said, “Read it again.”

So I read it again, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and beleiveth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.”

Then he said, “Do you believe it?”

I said, “Yes.”

“Do you receive Him?”

I said, “Yes.”

“Well,” he said, “are you a Christian?”

I just started to say over again that sometimes I was afraid I was not, when the only time in all the years I knew him and loved him, he was sharp with me. He turned on me with his eyes flashing and said, “See here, whom are you doubting?”

Then I saw it for the first time, that when I was afraid I was not a Christian I was doubting God’s Word. I read it again with my eyes overflowing with tears.

AMBASSADOR HAT ON

While I appreciate that people in this thread are willing to help Faith Over Fear with her issues relating to salvation, I’d like to remind folks here of a couple important CF forum rules.
  • Do not personally attack (insult, belittle, mock, ridicule) other members or groups of members on CF, or use nicknames to do so. A list of unacceptable names can be found here.. Address only the content of the post and not the poster.
  • "Calling out" a member is an unsolicited comment about another member in reference to something they may have said, their personal beliefs, their signature, or their avatar (challenging the member in a negative manner). This applies to any thread, whether the called out member is participating in that thread or not. Do not quote, or make comments about another member, in your signature or user title.

Please refrain from psychological speculation about other members and what mental health conditions they may have or what spiritual condition they are in, as that is calling out. It is also off-topic for this thread as we are discussing the requirements for salvation.

If you see a post that violates the CF Terms and Rules, please report it to the moderators using the Report button in the lower left hand corner. Do not respond to that post calling out the member for calling out someone else, as that just compounds the violation and makes matters worse. Thanks!

Romans 10:9-17

9 That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead THOU SHALT BE SAVED .
****10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.***"
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto ALL that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him OF WHOM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed THE GOSPEL. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then FAITH COMETH BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD.

Man complicates the simplicity of salvation & the word of God with private interpretations of men whom make doctrines out of WHAT IS NOT GOD'S/CHRIST'S DOCTRINE!

1.the gospel must be heard to stimulate faith to believe.
2.the Holy Spirit must convict and draw ppl to the realization of Christ blood sacrifice for THEIR SINS, as the only means to be forgiven of God.
3. they must believe in their heart that HE is truth & will set one free of separation from God & the sin state they are in.
4. confession of this belief in faith by his grace in his D, B,& R must be made from the heart and his word obeyed in a life crucified in him, until the end of one's life !

I listed ten items of faith that Christians may regard as essential to salvation. It will be nice to know everyone's opinion. If I missed a necessary condition of salvation, please list it in your comments.
None of the above, on their own. As its been taught: "At the evening of life we shall be judged on our love". Unpacked and properly understood, that's the most profound and concise summary of the gospel I've ever heard.

If God believing church going people should agree on anything from The Bible concerning doctrine. It should be what condition does God require to receive He free gift of Eternal Life salvation.

It does not and this just shows how weak the visible church and to some degree the invisible church of believers has become.

Of course water baptism is required to enter the kingdom of God, under the gospel of the kingdom.

The real question you should be asking is whether that offer to enter the kingdom still exists today.

Yes. By turning to God in faith, relying on Him now rather than ourselves, He freely accomplishes in us what we cannot on our own by our trying to obey the law. By the Spirit, under grace, our righteousness already easily exceeds that of the Pharisees and teachers of the law; obedience is finally possible as man enters relationship with God, a union that he was made for and without which man exists in a state of injustice-and death. This relationship reverses the unjust alienation from God that Adam initiated for man.

It all begins with and is based on faith, which leads to hope and love, because we know that God first loved us. And that love is what compels obedience of all the other commands given in the bible, said to be necessary for eternal life. This has been the consistent teaching of the ancient churches in the east and west since they received it at the beginning.
