Still not sure if you're claiming the vaccine does nothing to prevent the spread or if you're just caught up on it being less than 100% effective. The lack of numbers and analysis isn't helping, either.

You'd have to look at Israel, which despite their highest vaccination rate in the world is still battling a surge of cases, and is doubling down with 3rd, and even 4th doses of the same vaccines.

Weigh risks vs benefit with their doctor and keep in mind that the vaccine is not an end all be all, that they still have to take precautions because they can still get sick even if vaccinated.
and more importantly, they can still spread the disease to those who are vulnerable who cannot be vaccinated.
