His nephew said BH had switched directions before. He will no doubt just move to a new angle like many of them do. When something goes stale and the numbers fall, go to something new to prop up the ministry/empire.

The power of positive thinking may no longer appeal to a world that has learned to think self entitled (which of course is opposite to what we are to be). Will he continue to promote an anti-Christ ideal in a new way or do a total flip?

Oh forgot the list of claims Hinn has made over the years.

• Claims he and a Catholic priest channeled the power of God to heal practically every patient at a hospital in Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, Canada.[7]
• Claimed to have video of Jesus walking around in one of his meetings. When asked to show the video, his staff said it had been “misplaced.”[8]
• On Dec. 31, 1989, Hinn went into a trance and said God was giving him (in real time) prophecies about major events that would occur before the end of the next decade. Hinn predicted the total collapse of the American economy within a decade. He declared that during the 1990s the East Coast would be be ravaged by earthquakes; a female would be elected as president; Fidel Castro would die in office; a “short man dictator” would arise; the rapture of the church would occur; and the homosexual community of America would be destroyed by fire “in ’94 or ’95, no later than that.”[9]
• Claimed God told him by divine revelation that there are nine members in the Godhead.[10]
• Claimed that as a young man he was in his room talking to the Holy Spirit. When called to supper by the “woman of the house,” he said, “as I was about to leave, I felt someone take my hand and say, ‘Five more minutes. Just five more minutes.’ The Holy Spirit longed for my fellowship.”[12]
• Claimed that an image of Jesus appeared on the wall of his church and “stayed for eight weeks.” Hinn says, “Even the people who studied the Shroud of Turin came to see this image. …the mouth [of Jesus] would move, the Lord’s mouth would move…but His mouth would only move as I was preaching.”[13]
• Claimed (repeatedly) that he once saw a man raised from the dead on the platform on which he was standing. When later questioned by a reporter about the incident he said, “I did not see it. In that one case we did hear about it.”[14]
• Regularly “slays in the Spirit” people who get up on stage by touching them on the forehead or cheeks, waving his coat at them, or yelling, “Fire!” Once he even managed to slay himself! This practice has not one shred of biblical support.[15]
• Claimed to have a department that verifies all his healings.[16] I have spoken with a former employee of Hinn who says not only that the healings are not verified but that such a department does not even exist.
• Seed-faith theology is a staple in Hinn’s teaching. He promises people that if they “sow a seed” (translated, give him money), God will give them a “harvest.”
• Teaches that “if the preaching of the gospel lacks signs and wonders, it’s an empty shell.”[17]
• Claimed the Holy Spirit told him women were originally intended to give birth out of their sides.[11]

I've always let God worry about the money, and so far He's never left me short.

I was very short for many years, but I never actually worried about it. My wife did however and left me over it.

I always say if you think a particular scripture doesn't apply, rip that page out. Then after a year see how much of God's word you've written off as moot.

You may not violate any of them, but those scriptures still apply to us all.

I also have a similar saying.

No and no. His message is a sham, his teachings are self serving, any who decide to give money and time to him or decide to follow him are making poor decisions.

Because he put his security in riches instead of the Kingdom. He was troubled at the thought of giving up worldly security.
Perhaps as part of education, secular and Christian, that everyone should live on the street for a year, before choosing a path in life.

Only one way to do it. Be a good steward of the Lord's estate.

Hint: only few are able to do it. Is what makes it hard for the rich to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

I think it would wise to err on the side of caution. Don't overestimate yourself in a manner of speaking - something that is taught in the Bible many times and with examples.

There is only one who can judge right and that one knows everything (all-knowing). There's a lot of things we don't know.

I attended a vineyard church several years back. if you read their statement of faith you would believe they were pretty solid. if you listened to their preaching and stance on various issues, you would think otherwise.

What he said is what a lot of preachers have been saying for a long time.

2 Peter 2:3 ...
'And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.'

What is the prosperity gospel? Exactly what it says, it teaches that you NEED prosperity in your material life. It doesn't preach that you need prosperity in your 'spiritual' life, which the Bible teaches, but in your material worldly life. All they are preaching is IDOLATRY, elevating wealth and possessions above God, and elevating created things above the CREATOR. This is 'another' gospel which Paul warned about ... Galatians 1:6 ...
'I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.'

1 Timothy 6:5-8 ...…"
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.'

These preachers of the prosperity gospel are certainly perverting the true gospel of Christ Jesus. But Paul says there isn't another gospel, but only one true gospel of Jesus.

Benny Hinn was worth $42-$60 million. People sent him money even if he does not ask for it.

Kenneth Copeland is worth hundreds of millions. If you could collect 10% from thousands, you might be rich too. He collected jet planes as a hobby. Does he serve money or God?

Joyce Meyers is worth millions. Joel Osteen is not poor. Creflo Dollar is a millionaire. Billy Graham died rich.

They do not care if some widow is going without in order to support their high lifestyles.

We must judge what we do know. I agree that we all have more work to do. Regarding "overestimating", if you don't know your worth by the time you are my age there is something seriously wrong.

I am no fan of any of the prosperity preachers but are you asking do we accept a confession if it meets what we believe to be true or untrue the two are not connected. How many times Lord do I forgive, 7 times. What would it mean if the Lord said 7 x 70 if you believe them or by some other subjective human feeling about the quality of the person or their apology. I would ask what you think of these confessions.

First, not me Lord it was the Serpents.

Second, not my fault Lord you gave me the woman it’s yours and her fault.

Of course these were the confession(?) Of Adam and Eve and what did the Lord do? Inspect the confessions and throw the first couple out of the Garden? Maybe the Lord gave an unrecorded fire and brimstone dressing down? The Lord slew the Innocent for the guilty and restoration.

Grace is foreign to men. It is illustrated by Noah and his sons. Noah got whacked drinking and may or may not have done something of a sexual nature. The important part isn’t what Noah did we aren’t told it is his being naked and his sons response to it. Nakedness is often used in Scripture to uncovered sin. Hence Adam and Eve naked and needing to be covered their guilt introduced the philosophy of saving self through works. So Noah was naked and whatever sin or sins he did are not revealed. We become focused on wondering what he did and can lose sight of the much greater lesson. When noah’s Son came in and looked upon his father he could not get out of the tent fast enough to tell all about his sin. Then two other sons knowing their fathers sin was uncovered walked in backwards and covered him never asking for confession, never judging him and furthering the fall of his father. Does this mean no one has to repent and confess? No, in means we are not to judge the unseen and unknown to us truth. If a man makes you walk a mile go two miles. How are we too walk with this unrepentant who is a bully at the very least? The transgression is between the Judge and the person and our reaction to them is between us and the Lord.

One of my favorite examples comes from the story of a man who rose to be the leader of his country. While in office he committed adultery and used the power of his office to cover it up. Oh yes and the man impregnated his best friends wife used his office to murder his friend by sending off to war where he was killed. When the investigator came the King lied. No it wasn’t Bill Clinton it was King David. If David had done these things in our modern times would the church have reacted as it did with Bill and Monica towards David? Unknown but quite possibly and who would have thought this murdering, power abusing king was a Man after God’s own heart?”

The devil put Man in the position of becoming judges of others as the words in the Garden show. God’s fault, serpents fault women’s fault but not my fault. The Lord calls us to walk and to forgive as He forgives, love as He loves and take The ministry of reconciliation to all the world. The Judge will not miss anyone doing anything and will know their hearts by their having accept the Son or rejecting Him. No one is getting away with anything. The man in the church who was living with his fathers wife, stepmother, was put out of the fellowship to let Satan destroy his body that he would be saved. But they were never to stop being His Christian brother. They ought to write a song, oh wait they did , Amazing Grace. It really is amazing isn’t it.

I hear you. But I am not asking anyone to accept his confession. I only posted what I saw on the internet.

I hope it is for real but only time will tell.
