  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” But she was...

    The Church in Humility

The Lord Jesus has led me to write a series of devotions on the subject of the church. This will be the fourth in that series, as I am looking into what the church should look like and how we should function as the body of Christ. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to...

    The Knowledge of His Will

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the...

Why would God want the defeat of Japha and other cities rebelling against Rome in 66-70? (Solved)

I read Josephus' Wars of the Jews, and his Testimonium about Yeshua makes me think that he was probably a Messianic Jew. He ascribes the Romans' defeat of Japha and the First Century Jewish revolt to the Lord's will, but it isn't clear to me what reasons the Lord would have for that defeat. You...

    According to His Will

1 John 5:1-5 ESV Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his...

Hearing From God, Discerning God's Voice From Satan's And Discerning God's Will

God does speak to people within their spirits and not just through the Words of the Bible, but of course, He speaks continually through the Bible and never contrary to the Written Word. When it comes to hearing from God and how you know....faith is the #1 factor....there are other tools that...

I Have a Right to Promulgate My Children's Fvorable Consideration!

Do we, really? Have you ever been in a group of people like a parent of a child or the child themselves on a sports team, in a Scout Den or Pack or even in a Youth Group at church and experienced the leader giving repeatedly favorable considerations to their child? Such behavior is surely not...

    Love and Steadfastness

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5, 13 Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the...

I have a predicament: trying to discern God's will in the world of dating.

[Disclaimer: I don't have too much time to edit this. My apologies for any sloppy writing or grammatical errors that may cause confusion.] Preface I used to be "spiritually conservative." I would be skeptical when people would say things like "God put xyz on my heart," or "God told me to do...

Are You Truly Seeking To Do The Will Of The Father?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ tells us that the kingdom of heaven is already here: “When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs. Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the...

    God's Role in Marriage?

Hello All, Today I ran into an article that presents an idea I have never heard of: "God gives us freedom to choose if we marry and, by extension, whom we marry. There’s no biblical support whatsoever for the idea that we decide if we want to marry and, if we choose to marry, then God tells us...

    Following God's Will

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22 (NIV) We are all fractured individuals. None of us is perfect. The world we live in makes it difficult to stay pointed in the right direction. There are too many temptations, too many distractions...

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3 If we follow the advice found in Proverbs, we are to dedicate whatever we do to God and seek His clear direction. Unfortunately, the devil is working against us by camouflaging God’s guidance, trying to get...
