  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Personal Preferences

Romans 14:1-4 ESV As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the...

    Bad thoughts

Hi, I have severe OCD, tourettes and other problems and I get bad thoughts sometimes. I feel bad because I was scared that I said a bad word (which I didn't) but I was obsessing over it and the word actually formed in my head and I thought a horrible thought about someone I truly care for. I...

    Death of my son

My walk-in faith took a turn when I was 52 years old, just after the death of my only child. I was living my life as a “normal person” or so I thought. In my younger years I believed we were good old boys, worked hard, played hard, drank hard, dishonest at times, had some hatred and anger but it...

I Think I've been Fighting A Demon, but Something Amazing Happened

So for a long time now I've felt so down, tortured even. I was raised a Christian, but after high-school I stopped going to church and didn't have much of a relationship with God. I didn't stop believing, but I felt like I was becoming more distant. I met my wife, got married, got a good job and...

Question: Will God forgive your sins if you ask Him?

More Bible --- less traditions of man. In the actual Bible we are told to confess our sins to God - because only God can forgive sins. "IF anyone sins we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ the righteous" 1 John 2:1 "there is ONE mediator between God and man - the man Christ...

    Needing advice (adultery)

So I have shared portions of my story in a couple of places on here but I want to start a thread to get my thoughts out there and get some feedback. I am a 24 year old male. I have committed a couple of acts of adultery against my wife and God. About 3 months ago an inappropriate friendship (I...

Extreme fear whether Jesus will forgive me or not.

Hi, I have severe OCD (OCD is an obsession of irrational thoughts), anyway, I am very afraid God won't forgive me because I get so terribly afraid if I really committed a sin or not. For instance, my brother used to have a Gameboy and I worry if I broke it along time ago. He doesn't talk about...

    Being loving

This is what Jesus has taught me about walking the Narrow Path. Being Loving Being loving to others is being patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and looking past other’s faults. Being loving is not being jealous or envious of others, but happy for other’s success. Being loving is not having...

    Sweet Fellowship

Ephesians 2:1-3 ESV And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh...

    Forgiving My Past

My first marriage many years ago was an abusive one. The relationship was brief, thankfully, and I rarely think about what I experienced at his hands. One memory, however, troubles me from time to time... We lived in a house that had been made into four apartments, two downstairs, two upstairs...

    A Look in The Mirror

James 1:12-18 NASB Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself...

    Love Forlorn

An Original Work / August 1, 2018 The numbers of people in this world of ours who are suffering because of spousal unfaithfulness and abuse are astounding. The sad reality of it all, though, is that these numbers are high even among those who call themselves Christians. Porn addiction...

    The Light of His Love

    Going South

An Original Work / July 13, 2018 You say you believe, But then you deceive. You claim you’re a Christian, But it’s just a religion. You say He is Lord; With Him, not accord. You claim His forgiveness, But turn church into business. You say you are saved, But, you’re still depraved. You...

    Wedding Garments

1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other...

    No Forgiveness for the Unrepentant

The following are not my words, but I hold to the same opinions. This is something that churches across the country need to hear. Regardless of what you're comfortable with, the Bible cannot be changed. "Have you ever had it happen that when you rebuked an abuser, not only did she refuse to...
