  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Practical Christian Series. - Strife.

In God’s world, strife is an abomination and so it should be for the Christian. This is not the same as having Righteous indignation for something that is appalling. Whenever strife exists, then so will every device of satan including confusion, usurping and distrust. All these retard or put to...

Thoughts on Baptism in the face of death

A close friend died last weekend and I put some thoughts down on paper to help work through the grieving process. The Lutheran theology on baptism is almost the most wonderful thing - Holy Baptism itself being the top. Death, Water, and Praise I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. +Pax

    Oh! The Blood.

God demanded blood for the atonement of sin. At least that’s what most religious thinking states. For only by blood can we ever quell God’s wrath for our offense? The use of blood sacrifice is not new nor did it start with God’s people but has been a part of the human condition since the...

    Fear of Death

So I've had this fear of death since I don't know when and the BIBLE describes Hell pretty vividly which is a bit of a scare/threat to turn people from their sinful lives I'm assuming. But I've read online that some people think this is a wrong reason for seeking Jesus and the right thing is to...

    Life and Death

Monday, July 24, 2017, 7:23 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “Unless You Are Born Again.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read Romans 6 (ESV). Newness of Life (vv. 1-11) What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died...

    Some Requests

Can you on CF pray for a woman my mom has met at whose daughter who had her baby way too soon and the baby died. Please pray for that family, I can't imagine what that is like. Grief is hard, and a premature baby like that must be very hard on the parents and the family. Also, my mom has had...

What about people who died before Christ was born?

How exactly can I explain to someone where non-Christians went before Christ was born and died. Where did the Jews go? Would it be fair for God to send to hell all the other types of people who were born in different lands and had no control over that? What if they tried to be good people...

    Is Purgatory real?

I will just get to the point: Is Purgatory real? Didn't Christ already pay for our sins (taking the punishment for us) when He died in the Cross? Aren't we covered in the blood of the lamb? This life on Earth is a waiting place for us; why go to another waiting place? Aren't we made clean...

    Fear of Death

I have a fear of dying. It seems to primarily come to mind when I go to bed at night. The fact that I will one die frightens me. I like to think that I will not die until I reach a much older age (I'm 27 going on 28) and that by then I will be ready. However, we all know that death doesn't...

Letter To The Faithful - Do Not Be Afraid !

Do not be afraid ! Do not be afraid of the world! For we are called and placed in it, so as to interact with the lost and make known the Christ in us. I know that many may find it a challenge to be in certain places where we are concerned that it may not be conducive to our Christian Faith, as...

    No Assurance

A lot of people already know but, I struggle with impulsive thoughts and fear of having committed the unpardonable sin, by apostasy (Hebrews 6:4-6, had a period of strong doubts and depression leading me to call myself atheist and Taoist for a while) or blasphemy (cursing and blasphemy against...

    The Lake of Fire

I have noticed lately that discussions on the Lake of Fire is favoring those who think that the punishment is greater than the crime and that the Lake of Fire is actually a Lake of Love and people will get converted in the Lake of Love then they will be let into heaven or that the length of stay...

Health Care that may hasten the end of someones life

people approach the end of life and everyone would say they would like a quick death with dignity. For many that isnt possible. Several levels of debates about medical intervention in this continue: Assisting death by administering a lethal drug for those with irreversible symptoms OR a step...

Was Jesus required to die the way he died?

Hello! This is a topic I've always had trouble understanding: Was Jesus required to die to save us? And did he have to die the way he did? Is there a direct link between his death, the way he died on the cross, and saving us/forgiving our sins? What I mean is, could he have otherwise just said...

    Things Hidden

Monday, March 13, 2017, 8:55 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “Is He Satisfied?” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read Revelation 22 (Select vv. NASB). Awesome! If God asked you to kill someone from another group, would you?

(Feel free to move this if it should be in Ethics and Morality instead.) Now before you say "God would never do that!" keep in mind that in the Old Testament, there were several times where God commanded entire cities to be destroyed and killed, including the infants. And disobedient children...
