  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    1 Corinthians 10:2

1 Cor 10:2 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same...

Why is there no evidence that Jesus baptised with immersion in water?

We know that Jesus himself was baptised by immersion in water (Matthew 3). John the Baptist preached that "one would come after who would baptise with spirit and fire", however, Jesus does not appear to have baptised anyone via immersion in water and yet, the apostles clearly did this long...

Do I need to be baptized again?

So I grew up in church, and I have pretty much believed and been taught the gospel my whole life. Like there was never any question for me as to whether I believed the Bible stories I was taught at church or not, I always believed it. I came to a realization the consequences of not being saved...

    Washing of Regeneration

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (MY NOTE: The term "washing of regeneration" is referring to spiritual regeneration/quickening, making you alive/born again. See...

    Mikvah - Purifying - Baptism

Mikvah means a "pool" or "gathering" of fresh water. Mosaic law mandated many ceremonial water purification rituals/ablutions. To be clear, it wasn't for the purpose bathing. One was to already have bathed, washed his hair, pared his fingernails etc. Other purification rituals required only...

Don't Let Water Baptism Stop You From The Ultimate Goal!

Water baptism is an exciting decision that many followers of Christ make in their journey of faith. However, many believers think that once they have been baptized by water, they have reached the end goal. Water baptism is the first step towards reaching the ultimate goal of being baptized by...

    Possibly not saved?

So I have been in prayer for a long time over my salvation. I came to Christ about 13 years ago. When I came to Christ, I thought I was serious. Looking back I may have been hesitant to count the cost and fully repent of some things. It's likely l may have been still holding on to some things...

    A Question About Baptism

I hope that this is the correct sub-forum for my question; while I am not entirely a new Christian, my question is kind of a new Christian's question. About a dozen years ago I first officially became a Christian by being baptized into the Catholic Church (as an adult). Over time, I fell away...

    Free Will & God's Sovereignty/Predestination

I always ponder which side was correct. Everyone always debates this. In Christianity, I wonder why there are so many disagreements, denominations as well as opinions when we are to not to be confused. I don't think God would make these matters this confusing and hard for us to understand. I...

Why Credo-Baptism by Immersion is the biblical mode of baptism

Today, as I was playing in my home swimming pool with my dad, right after my mom and I dunked him under the water, I said to my dad and mom, "Now that is how a real baptism is done. Not by having a priest pour water on my head when I was a baby." When I was 15 and went on a high school field...

When you surrender to God are all your actions for him?

So, when you're baptized, the Holy Spirit enters you, and, what truly happens to your life? Are all your actions from then on devoted to the Lord, YHWH? It's impossible to devote an action or routine to the devil, right? I want to keep the devil out of my life permanently and I really need...

Acts 2 Repent & Be Baptized Parsed

John the Baptist's purpose & baptism were preparatory, not remissive. His repeatedly stated mission was to prepare the way of the Lord (Mal 3:1, Matt 3:3, Mark 1:2–3). His "baptism of repentance" was a call for Israel to return to God (Strong’s H7725 — https://biblehub.com/hebrew/7725.htm)—an...
