The Harris campaign has described Texas as “ground zero of the nation’s extreme abortion bans.” The Friday rally will be “centered on abortion rights,” the Post reported.

Beyoncé, a Texas native, previously performed at a rally for Hillary Clinton in 2016, just days before the Democratic presidential candidate lost the election to Donald Trump.

Harris has used Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” as a walkout song throughout her campaign.

As understood by my church, apostolic succession is a historical claim, that our present bishops were ordained by previous bishops, who were ordained by previous bishops, ..., who were ordained by the earliest bishops. Whether the office of "bishop" dates to the time of the apostles or slightly later is something I'll leave to historians, but the earliest bishops would at least have known and studied with the apostles.

By the nature of it, the idea of apostolic succession isn't something we would expect to see described in the New Testament, because most of the apostles were still living when the New Testament was written.

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being prejudiced against Catholics in an op-ed published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette — the largest newspaper in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

“There was once a time in our nation’s history when both parties agreed on a common set of ideals, among them the understanding that an individual’s First Amendment right to practice his or her faith supersedes the political agenda of any bureaucrat, elected official, or political party,” Vance wrote in the Oct. 24 op-ed.

LAHORE, Pakistan — A court in Pakistan on Friday returned custody of a 16-year-old Christian girl to her parents after a Muslim man had kidnapped and forcibly converted and married her, sources said.

Diya Iftikhar was abducted from her home in village Chak No. 126-GB Sheroana in Jaranwala, Faisalabad District, Punjab Province, by Ghazaal Jutt and two accomplices, Afzal Jutt and Ramzan Jutt, on Sept. 12, according to her parents. Additional Sessions Judge Jaranwala Azhar Iqbal Ranjha today granted the petition for recovery of custody filed by the girl’s mother, Shahida Iftikhar.

“Diya Iftikhar was targeted by Ghazaal Jutt because of his hatred against Jaranwala’s Christian community,” said Asher Sarfraz, chief executive of Christians True Spirit (CTS), which provided legal support to the victim’s family. “The girl was abducted against her will and coerced on gunpoint to record a statement claiming that her conversion to Islam and marriage to Jutt were voluntary.”

His first question is answered by the First Cause argument, remembering what "infinity" really means.

(OSV News) — A community of Benedictine Sisters in a key election swing state is deploring “false and misleading information about their membership” posted on social media by a Republican Party political operative.

The Benedictine Sisters of Erie, Pennsylvania, issued an Oct. 23 statement noting they are “pursuing legal counsel” regarding “public defamation” after self-described “door-knocking guru” Cliff Maloney alleged on X (formerly Twitter) that while “53 voters are registered” at the Mount St. Benedict Monastery, “turns out … NO ONE lives there.

“We knocked on the door because a Republican mail-in ballot is unreturned,” wrote Maloney, founder of The Pennsylvania Chase, a door-to-door campaign funded by the Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania political action committee, in his Oct. 23 post. “Our attorney’s are reviewing this right now. We will not let the Dems count on illegal votes.”

(OSV News) — Some two dozen works of the late Pope Benedict XVI’s pre-papal writings will be made available in English, many for the first time, in a new translation project led by the academic division of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries.

Libreria Editrice Vaticana, the Vatican’s publishing house, has granted Word on Fire the exclusive English-language rights to translate and publish the collected works of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, which were written in the late pope’s native German.

Word on Fire announced the news in an Oct. 24 press release, with the nonprofit’s founder, Bishop Robert E. Barron of Winona-Rochester, Minnesota, describing the value of the works as “inestimable.”

“They will serve future generations as a great repository not only of theological and spiritual wisdom, but of the history of a particular moment in the life of the Church,” said Bishop Barron in the statement.

A legal education group centered on religious freedom released on Friday its 2024 “Faith and Freedom Index,” which found that many states “overburden and are even hostile” toward faith-based nonprofits in the U.S.

The Napa Legal Institute’s report found that some states, including Massachusetts, Michigan, and Washington, ranked low for religious freedom, while other states such as Alabama and Indiana had “robust protections” for faith-based nonprofits, according to a Napa Legal press release.

Napa Legal’s vice president and executive director, Mary Margaret Beecher, said the index “shows that states must actively engage in the battle for religious freedom and a flourishing civil society.”

This sort of frustrates me a bit. In the last couple of years we have seen more and more information come out about how Trans ideology is unscientific and rather an ideological belief. The British NHS closed its gender clinics based on the ideology and staff admitted many patients were misled. Scandinavian nations who are world leaders in gender health are abandoning Trans ideology and going back to evdience based therapy.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) who underpinned health policy for most nations Dept of Health made all sorts of claims that were not based on the evidence or at least many unknowns. But claimed they were safe.

Professionals and academics who seen this coming even years ago have been made out to be the idiot bad guys, uncaring and hateful. While the gender ideologue professors are held up as the gods who cannot be wrong.

It reminds me of the church scandel of abusing children. As more truth comes out about how this ideology has harmed young people and even children being indoctrinated in schools we will see another major scandel. But this time it has been done by the Leftist State regime and its agents enforcing a new kind of State religion, Trans ideology.

The Pentagon updated it at the end of September. Although military policies are routinely updated and reissued, the timing of this one—just six weeks before the election and the same day Hurricane Helene slammed into the Southeast—struck right-wing misinformation merchants as suspicious.

They latched onto a new reference in the updated directive—“lethal force”—and soon were falsely claiming that the change means Kamala Harris had authorized the military to kill civilians if there is unrest after the election.
