  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sing a Song of Mercy

Sing a song of mercy,
Of Jesus, Savior, King,
Gave His life up for us,
Our offerings to Him bring.

When He died for our sins,
‘Twas so we’d die with Him,
Walk with Him, obey Him,
And not live for a whim.

Life with Him is Holy,
For us He purified,
Crucified for our sins,
For that is why He died,

All our sins forgiven
So we’d live just for Him,
Walking with Him daily,
Go not out on a limb.

Sharing now the gospel,
So others know Him, too,
Live for God, to please Him,
Not do what others do.

Share with all the people
The love of God for us,
By His grace and mercy
Our lives not be a bust!

[Can be sung to the tune of “Sing a Song of Sixpence”]

The Peace of Christ Rules

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” (Colossians 3:12-15 NASB’95)

If we are the chosen of God, holy and beloved of God, who have trusted in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives, then this means that we have been crucified with Christ in death to sin, and we were raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. And to be holy means to be set apart by God to be separate (unlike, different) from the world because we are being conformed to the likeness of character of Jesus Christ, by God’s Spirit.

So, as those who have been transformed by God in heart and mind, so that we no longer walk in sin, and so that obedience to God is now what we practice, we are to put into practice the divine virtues of God in our lives. And the first one listed here for us is “compassion,” which is similar in nature to God’s grace and mercy. We should be people of God who are moved emotionally by the misfortunes of others and who reach out to minister to the hurting, the lonely, and the forgotten, as led by the Spirit of God.

The second virtue is “kindness.” And all of these virtues, because they come from God, and not from the flesh, must agree with God and his divine character and will for our lives. So this kindness is also goodness and uprightness, and/or it is lovingkindness. And this has to do with meeting real needs, in God’s way. Thus, lying to someone to make him or her feel better is not kind. Speaking the truth in love to others is kindness. Doing for others what is for their good, in the eyes of God, is biblical kindness.

The third virtue mentioned here is “humility.” And if you are someone who is humble, you do not think of yourself more highly than you ought or more lowly than you ought, but you think of yourself with sober judgment as God sees you. So you are not a braggart. You are not conceited. You do not have an overly exaggerated opinion of yourself. But you have an honest opinion of who you were and of who God made you to be, by his grace, giving all the glory to God. And you are willing to be a servant to God and to the people.

The fourth virtue is “gentleness,” which is the same as “meekness,” which is not weakness, but it is controlled strength. For Jesus Christ was meek, but he was not weak. He was strong morally and spiritually, and he spoke the truth in love to the people, even though many rejected what he taught as a “hard truth,” and so they deserted him. So, in order to be gentle we make no compromises with truth and righteousness and morality or with the gospel message, but we speak the truth in love, in humility of mind and heart.

The fifth virtue is “patience,” which has to do with not being quick tempered, but being slow to anger, not being too quick to jump to conclusions and thus ending up making faulty conclusions and not well thought-out responses. This also has to do with waiting on God’s timing for him to act in our circumstances, trusting in his timing, believing that he knows what is best for us. It is learning to wait on God while remaining steadfast in heart and mind in walks of obedience to the Lord, even when we lack understanding.

The sixth virtue is “forgiveness.” The Scriptures teach that we are to forgive others as God has forgiven us. And this is something we must do whether or not the person who sinned against us ever repents of his/her wrongdoing and then changes and treats us better. For we who are born sinners have no right to not forgive others of their sins if God, who is perfect and holy, by his grace has forgiven our sins. And we are to forgive even our enemies. And if we do not forgive, it will turn to bitterness and to hard-heartedness.

Beyond all these things we are to put on (agape) “love,” which comes from God who is love, and which means to prefer what God prefers. This is a love which centers in moral preference and so it prefers all that is holy, righteous, morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to our Lord. For the believer in Christ it means to prefer God’s choices and to obey them in his power. And so when we love with this love we will treat others as God treats us, and we will not willfully sin against them, but we will be kind to them.

And if we let the “peace” of Christ rule in our hearts and lives, then we will be at peace with God and with his plan and purpose for our lives, and we will be walking in obedience to his commands, and we will not deliberately and habitually be sinning against the Lord and against other humans. And we will not compromise morality or holiness or godliness, but we will be pure in heart and mind. And we will trust our Lord with our circumstances, even through our trials, and we will put our lives in his hands, and rest in him.

Based off of Col. 3:1-17; Eph. 5:19-20

Let the word of Christ dwell in you,
As you teach with all wisdom,
Teaching one another to not
Think on earthly things;
Think instead on things above,
Where Christ sits with God, in love,
Saving us from all of our sins,
Cleansing us; made new within.

Let the peace of Christ rule your hearts,
As you sing songs unto Him;
Speak to one another with psalms,
Hymns, and spir’tual songs;
Always giving thanks to God,
In the name of Christ, His Son,
Who gave His life up for us all,
And gave us eternal life.

Let the love of Christ within you
Rule in your hearts; grace within,
Purifying you from your sin,
Make you whole within.
Forgive as the Lord forgave.
Show His kindness ev’ry day.
In word or deed, whate’er you do,
Glory give to Jesus Christ.

God will honor you if and only if you honor God

Concerning the House of Eli, 1Sa 2:
30 the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.
The promise was conditional.
But now the LORD declares: Far be it from Me! For I will honor those who honor Me, but those who despise Me will be disdained.
In the context of Eli's family, God honored those who honored him, whose failure to honor God led to their downfall.
Proverbs 3:
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Prioritize God by giving him the firstfruits of your resources. In return, God promises blessings and abundance.
Psalm 91:
14 "Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
God promises to honor and protect those who love him and acknowledge his name.
John 12:
26 "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."
Jesus taught that God the Father will honor those who serve him faithfully.
When we prioritize God—through worship, obedience, faithfulness, and service—he responds by blessing, protecting, and elevating us. However, this principle does not necessarily mean material wealth or worldly success; it can refer to spiritual blessings, peace, and eternal rewards.

Houthis post cryptic video of American flag-draped coffins

Trump has ordered 'decisive and powerful' airstrikes against Houthi terrorists

Houthi rebels in Yemen posted an animation online that depicted American flag-draped coffins floating near destroyed Navy ships.

"These terrorists really cannot tell the difference between delusions and reality," Hussain Abdul-Hussain, a research fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), said in a post on X along with the Houthi animation.

The animation starts out with somber music and depicts a coffin draped in an American flag floating in water, then slowly zooms out to reveal dozens of similar flag-draped coffins floating away from destroyed warships.

Is Minecraft Evil or Spiritual Dangerous? Can Christians Play Minecraft?

I played a MMORPG called Everquest for 20 years. I was addicted from age 10-31. I only quit video games completely recently. due to a gambling addiction with buying in game currency leading to me being broke early in the month. Im not familiar with minecraft to well, but my hubby who passed away recently 7 months ago played it. I dont know if your aware of what everquest is, but its got scary elements, theres even a planar portal called Plane of Torment, where creatures and the players battle evil creatures and the music and sound is people screaming in pain and the music is horrfic to listen to. I hated doing torment for a weapon peice i needed for my musician toon. I took my revenge on the main boss, Known as The lady of torment, Saryn. It was my way of getting past the fear. But yes everquest is highly addictive and i wouldnt reccomend for anyone below age 21. Besides that the community is highly toxic and sexual . Stay out of games like that unless your in full control of yourself. it can easily lead to bullying, gambling, and fear filled dreams.

Getting prepared and ready for the mark

The word tells us we won't be able to buy or sell anything without accepting the mark of the beast. But my question is, if that would include having to pay bills and taxes with it as well. If that's the case, the only way we can survive would be to live detached from the world deep in the wilderness and learn survival skills. If we can't pay for our mortgage or rent without it then I truly believe we better start to learn how to survive off the land. What are your thoughts?
Thank you. Eric

My thoughts are that anyone who thinks they're going to make me kow-tow to an anti-Christian hegemony should get ready for disappointment.

'They/Them/Turtle': Oregon mental health advisory board includes member who identifies as terrapin species

I mean I understand the story of the tortoise and the hair and how slow and steady can win you the race sometimes. But that doesn't mean you literally become a turtle in life. I wonder if he walks around and does stuff real slow. If he doesn't then he is not living the true identity of a turtle. He is breaking the turtle identity code.

Similar to how grown men and women can break the Ponying code if they are properly immerced into the Pony space from humans to Ponies. As Ben says "who are we to judge they don't identify as real Ponies once they enter the Pony space". " what makes us so Cis-human that we should judge others and not use their pronouns like nay and giddy up".

I don't think I can link the video as its a bit risky in that once grown adults enter the Pony Space it can beome a bit kinky lol. But for those who wish to view it at their own risk its posted on Facebook under Ben Shapiro. Its not explicit just strange and kinky which we happen to see a lot of nowadys on the streets.

Here is an image which I think would be pretty safe as I think its advertised on TV. Its a bit like any Drag Queen story time when men dress up in various women charactures or story book characters. which seem to be family friendly. Or like the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydeny or around the world which are suppose to be family friendly and are even more explicit than Ponying lol.

I think I saw that on television at one time. Looks familiar.

Ex-homosexual Christian tells it like it is

Causes of Homosexual Orientation

I wrote this paper in 2001, but it is equally relevant today:

Abstract: The paper explores the debate between viewing homosexuality as a natural variation or a developmental condition, examining psychological factors and sociopolitical context. It discusses the role of family dynamics, particularly absent or negative father figures and overprotective mothers, in the development of homosexuality. The article also covers perspectives on advancing homosexual rights, the politicization of the topic, and the debate around genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors as causes of homosexuality. The potential for therapeutic conversion is examined.

Keywords: homosexuality, mother dependency, absent father, pseudohomosexuality, conversion therapy, neurotic family, cultural anthropology, mother goddess.

Are Advances In Scholarship And Medicine That Is Accredited to an "Islamic Golden Age" actually rooted in early Christianity?

An Assyrian friend of mine has made this argument i.e. that Christian Assyrians translated the scientific knowledge of both the Greek world, and Byzantine (Roman) Christian world into Arabic. But the scientific knowledge of the Babylonians ("Archimedes" screw is actually Babylonian) and Persians should not be overlooked. My Assyrian friend said their knowledge was also translated into Arabic by Assyrians. The Assyrians seemed to be the crossroads. The Arabs now had a large empire allowing the fusion, and the text of the Quran does advocate for leaders to be skilled in secular knowledge as well as religious.

He was correct, if by Assyrian we are including both members of the Syriac Orthodox Church (some of whom call themselves Assyrian) and the Assyrian Church of the East.

Remember, the Babylonians wound up speaking Aramaic, and so any knowledge of theirs was accessible only through the same monks, but frankly Seleucia-Cstesiphon was a backwater compared to Alexandria and especially Constantinople, which represented the apex of Greek technological progress as is demonstrated by its advanced utilities and architecture, and by the development of pyrotechnics like Greek Fire which delayed the Islamic conquest of the Byzantine Empire by many centuries (it arguably wouldn’t have happened at all without the “Fourth Crusade” in which Venice backstabbed Byzantium mightily, to the extent that the once nomadic Turkic tribe known as the Osman Bashi, which we call the Ottoman Empire but in Turkish it retains its old name, literally the “Head of Osman”, was able to conquer it, and the rest of the Islamic lands.

Israel and the Nations (Across Japan&Taiwan&China&Middle East&Israel&United States)

The Middle East、East Asia and Globalization Factors in Jewish&Western Relations

Will Samaritans lean more towards Jews or Gentiles? To what extent did the Samaritans inherit Torah? Jesus himself spent a lot of energy in Samaria. Jesus and the early church also emphasized the intermediary and buffering role of Samaria between Jerusalem and the ends of the earth. If the relationship between Jews and the West is tense, which side does the Middle Eastern Christian Church stand on? From a national perspective, the Shem ethnic group has a tacit understanding of unity, because the Lord God of Shem should be praised. If the physical descendants of the Abrahamic lineage unite in truth, it is very powerful in theology. The Japheth can only live in Shem's spiritual tent, as the Japheth cannot produce a monotheistic religion with spiritual significance. How can the theology of Japheth defeat the theology of Shem ?

Of course, Noah's blessing to Shem and Japheth emphasizes their cooperation. For the spiritual desert region East Asia (the ends of the earth) , there has been almost no concept of monotheism in history. Confronting such ignorance, the Jewish, Middle Eastern, and Western who have faith in Jesus will cooperate, proving that if East Asia does not learn the monotheistic religion of the Bible, there will be no future.

If East Asians discover that their nations are lawless and will have no way out ,they will long to establish the Torah's laws and faith in Jesus. East Asia also has a tacit understanding of cultural identity. If this tacit understanding is not based on deceit and lies, but on a shared acceptance of truth, it will become a blessing for the world.

Witnessing tips: Overcoming fears!

Thanks for the advice. My biggest struggle is not knowing what to say. I have this problem where I don't know what to say and people get impatient with me essp. when I'm surrounded in a group of people. My old high school Denny's crowd is like that. They are mostly non-believers and when we're all together they like to, not purposefully, gang up on me. I try my hardest sometimes, but I can't get my point across.

I will try your tips out and I pray that your witnessing continues to go well.
My intention is to writes scripts, or short sermons on a topic that might overcome an obstacle for potential believers.

Storms are Coming

Storms are coming, raging down,
So be careful you don’t drown.
Night is falling, darkness grim,
Evil lurking on the brim.

Enemies chanting, “We will win!”
They are walking on ice thin.
Rulers lurking, caught in sin,
They are living on a whim.

Crazy! Crazy! Don’t be lazy,
So much now it is so hazy.
They tell their stories, make no sense,
Feels like we’re living on a fence.

Day to day things just keep changing,
On their drums they are now banging.
Emotions high, and some are raging,
Words from rulers they are blazing.

Have you considered them as one,
They work together, play their drums,
They make their noises, raise their voices,
But while they’re singing all in chorus?

The Bible told us times would come
When men would gather all as one
And sing in chorus, play their tunes,
And act together, share their fumes.

The plan? To overtake the world.
Their plan it is now being unfurled.
The chaos? They intended that
Because they want that we should spat.

So pay attention what’s about
And pray to God, and do not doubt
That these could be the times he said
The people of the earth will dread.

Just some silly stuff.

Sometimes silliness can be inspired by imagining an authority figure saying "stop it! make more sense!" To which is replied "blalalalalala"

So with a dam, the water accumulates and then there is more and more until it overflows.

Why is it that creativity is best inspired in boring situations?

Speak God's Word With Boldness

Peter and John were arrested and put in jail for teaching the people about Jesus Christ and concerning his death and resurrection. The next day they were brought before a Council and questioned about the healing of a man who was lame from birth, and Peter took this opportunity, as he was filled with the Holy Spirit, to state that the man was healed by the name of Jesus who they had crucified, who God had raised from the dead, who was the Christ, and who was the Savior of the world.

So, the Council dismissed them and decided among themselves that they would order the apostles not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But when Peter and John heard this, they responded to them by saying that they could not stop speaking about what they had seen and heard, i.e. they could not stop sharing the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people for their salvation from sin and eternal life with God. And so the Council let them go, but only after they had threatened them further.

“When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, ‘O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,
“Why did the Gentiles rage,
And the peoples devise futile things?
The kings of the earth took their stand,
And the rulers were gathered together
Against the Lord and against His Christ.”
“’For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur. And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.’ And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Acts 4:23-31 NASB’95)

Jesus Christ, when he lived on this earth, told us that if we follow him with our lives that we will be hated and persecuted as he was hated and persecuted. He said that how he was treated so would we be treated, too, if we are his followers who are walking in his ways and in his truth, and who are doing what he commands that we must do as his followers. He promised us that we would have enemies, and that we would be brought before the courts, but that we would be given the words to say by the Holy Spirit.

[Matthew 5:10-12; Matthew 10:16-25,34-39; Matthew 24:9-14; Luke 6:22-23; Luke 12:49-53; Luke 21:12-17; John 15:18-21]

But our enemies have no power over God and his work. They can only do as much as what God allows, and that God allows for a purpose (example the book of Job). They can only persecute us and mistreat us and threaten us if God allows it, and he will always set limits on what they can do. And God uses these trials and tribulations in our lives to test our faith and to strengthen us in our walks of faith in obedience to our Lord. Through our trials we learn perseverance and we grow to maturity in our walks of faith.

So, even if it appears as though the enemy is winning, which is what it looked like when they hung Jesus on that cross to die, we can find some comfort in the fact that Jesus’ death on that cross provided the way for us to be delivered out of our slavery (addiction) to sin so that we will now serve the Lord in walks of surrender and obedience to him. And because Jesus died we can now die with him to sin, and because he rose from the dead in victory over sin we can live in him in victory over sin in holy living.

And God will allow suffering in our lives to make us into the people of God who he wants us to be to be used for his glory. If I had not gone through all the suffering I went through in my life, I would not have been prepared for what these last 21 years of ministry were going to cost me, and I would not have had the strength to withstand all the trials and tribulations that have been part of this ministry, and I would not have had the endurance to learn new things and to keep pressing forward in sickness and in health.

So, the devil, and our enemies, may be able to hurt us, yes, and they may be allowed to kill us physically, yes, but they can only hurt us spiritually if we let them. And if they kill us, word may get out about it, and that may mean the spreading of the gospel message even further. Many of the sufferings that I had were what brought me to this place of total surrender to the will of God for my life to the point to where I would follow Jesus where he takes me even if everyone turns against me and deserts me. I needed that!

And if we are being persecuted, we can call out to God, and we can pray for even greater boldness to keep speaking the truth of God’s Word regardless of how much opposition we receive, in return. We must trust the Lord through it all and not let our enemies and our persecutors get the best of us. We must not yield to our circumstances, but we must yield to the will of God for our lives despite our circumstances. For God is in control and he has a plan and a purpose for everything he brings into our lives. So trust Him.

[Revelation 6:9-11; Revelation 7:9-17; Revelation 11:1-3; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 13:1-18; Revelation 14:1-13]

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
