  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Masked gunmen rape Christian woman, tie husband to tree in religiously-motivated attack

'Both of us ... cried our hearts out, our minds numbed by the trauma and unable to think anything'

LAHORE, Pakistan — Masked gunmen robbed a Christian man and then tied him up and gang-rape his wife after learning the couple’s faith, sources said.

Adnan Masih, a 34-year-old brick kiln worker in Faisalabad District’s Chak 62-GB Channan village, and his wife were headed home on a motorcycle on the night of March 25 when two masked gunmen stopped them, he said.

“They snatched my cell phone and some money at gunpoint and then started threatening me to give them more money,” Masih told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News. “When I told them that I was a poor Christian and an ordinary worker at a brick kiln, they started whispering something into each other’s ears.”

Nobody wanted to invite Mrs. Vance home in Greenland

Maybe the “one-world-government” will be economic in character?
I don't think there ever will be a "one-world-government" because of people like me, who simply won't allow it to take off in the first place.

A global leadership with "ZERO" competition? The idea itself is a total abomination according to every respectable organization or group on earth.

Tonight, my area is at high risk for severe storms.

Hey all
Hello my brothers and sisters, I haven’t posted in awhile, but I’ve checked here daily everyday

Tonight in my region of the US. My state and my area is at an extremely high risk for tornados and high winds, unfortunately I’ve been scheduled to work at least halfway through it’s projected hit time, leaving me away from home by only a few miles. I’m deathly concerned about my beloved chickens and my family, and moreover my life itself-please; if it’s no inconvenience to anyone, please pray for my soul and all that is in my life, but more importantly pray for the Lords will to be down whatever that may be. If I do go to be with the Lord tonight, I love you all for all eternity and I’ll see you all there-

Hey all, I cannot thank you all enough for the prayers, me and my family and my chickens are all safe and fine-I love you all and Jesus first before forever. Thank you my brothers and sisters

Kidney donor detained by ICE in Chicago area hopes to save brother's life, release now pending

What has happened to his Asylum claim?
What about the fact that after being here for a year he still has not taken a genetic test for compatibility. I mean, I thought his brother was in need of a transplant and that was his excuse for coming here illegally. Or did God miraculously heal his brother's kidney so now there is no need/rush?

A self-deception ethic going a-churching

Interesting.

Most pro-wrestling angles, matches, story-lines are fairly simple. Its a face (good guy) vs a heel (bad guy) and it revolves around their struggles against each other as told through interviews (promos), matches and occasionally skits.

A number of pro-wrestlers are Christian and there are a small handful of independent pro-wrestling federations that are Christian based.

Futurist Only Daniel 11, Part 1

With this overview done, let’s discuss Daniel 11 in more detail.

When Jesus was discussing the abomination of desolation referred to by Daniel, he is referring to a future event in Daniel 9:27, Dan 11:31, and Dan 12:11.
Dan 11:29 At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time will not be like the first. 30 Ships of Kittim will come against him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and rage against the holy covenant and do damage. So he will return and show favor to those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation.
In Numbers 24:24, we see these ships of Kittim attack the Assyrian (and Hebrews in the Eber reference).

But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Assyria and Eber; and he too shall come to utter destruction.”
This event will take place in the ‘latter days’ (Num 24:14).

This ‘he’ in Dan 11:29-31 is the Assyrian. This individual has literally nothing to do with Antiochus Epiphanes which happened a few hundred years prior to when Jesus is speaking. It literally has nothing to do with the destruction of the Jewish temple in 70 AD – unless you think that we have experienced ‘great tribulation’ for almost two thousand years…

This ‘Assyrian’ (the ‘he’ who is placing the abomination) is the Daniel 8 Little Horn. And he is not ‘suddenly arriving’ in the chapter here at verse 29 – the Daniel 8 Little Horn starts showing up at Daniel 11:21.
Dan 11:21 In his place a despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a time of peace and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 Then a flood of forces will be swept away before him and destroyed, along with a prince of the covenant.
He is the ‘despicable person’ who doesn’t get legitimate political power. He illegitimately seizes the kingdom via political intrigue. He is seizing the ‘kingdom of the North’ which is out of the kingdom of Greece that split into four component parts: North, South, East, West (Daniel 8:8 and Daniel 11:4).

Let’s focus for now on establishing that the Daniel 8 Little Horn is the despicable ruler of the Kingdom of the North described in Daniel 11 by comparing the two chapters.
Dan 8:8 Thus the goat became very great, but at the height of his power, his large horn was broken off, and four prominent horns came up in its place, pointing toward the four winds of heaven.

[The goat’s great horn, representing Greece, splits into four parts.]
Dan 11:2 Now then, I will tell you the truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. By the power of his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.
3 Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great authority and do as he pleases. 4 But as soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the authority with which he ruled, because his kingdom will be uprooted and given to others.

Dan 8:9 From one of these horns a little horn emerged and grew extensively toward the south and the east and toward the Beautiful Land.

[The Daniel 8 Little Horn/ the illegitimate ruler takes over the Kingdom of the North (Dan 11:15-20 describes his two predecessors, one who invades Israel and the next who is described as a tax collector for the glory of the kingdom). He moves to south and east to arrive in Israel.]

Dan 11:21 In his place a despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a time of peace and seize the kingdom by intrigue.
He casts some of the host/ army to the ground. This event is the 4th Trumpet's 'a third of the stars fall' in Revelation 8:12.

Dan 8:10 It grew as high as the host of heaven, and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the earth, and trampled them.

[The Hebrew word for ‘host’ is ‘tsaba’ which can also mean ‘army’. The king of the South can also mean Israel as ‘south’ is the Hebrew word, ‘negeb’, which can refer to the Negev which is part of the land allotment of Judah.]

Dan 11:25 And with a large army he will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South, who will mobilize a very large and powerful army but will not withstand the plots devised against him. 26 Those who eat from his provisions will seek to destroy him; his army will be swept away, and many will fall slain.

He magnifies himself and overthrows the sanctuary.

Dan 8:11 It magnified itself, even to the Prince of the host**; it removed His daily sacrifice and overthrew the place of His sanctuary.**
He magnifies himself and overthrows the sanctuary.

36 Then the king will do as he pleases and will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and he will speak monstrous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been decreed must be accomplished. 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers, nor for the one desired by women, nor for any other god, because he will magnify himself above them all.

Dan 8:12 And in the rebellion, the host and the daily sacrifice were given over to the horn, and it flung truth to the ground and prospered in whatever it did.

[When it says, ‘in the rebellion’, this is sort of a placeholder for when the Daniel 7 Little Horn, the Rev 10 Mighty Angel, has confirmed the covenant to create a pause in the war that was taking place in Daniel 11:29-45 (which is Rev 9:13-21) (the covenant is ending hostilities). Remember that at the end of the war and killing taking place in Rev 9:13-21, the survivors ‘do not repent’ (Rev 9:20-21) which indicates that the rebellion is still going on.

When the ‘dragon’ (the Daniel 7 Little Horn, the Rev 10 mighty angel) breaks the covenant and goes into heaven to make himself like God at the 7th Trumpet, he subsequently gives his throne over to the beast from the sea and a mortally head wounded individual (Rev 13:2). In other words, the ‘dragon’, the Daniel 7 Little Horn is giving the daily sacrifice over to the Daniel 8 Little Horn.
It is the same situation as described here in Ezekiel 44:

Ezek 44:6 And say to the rebellious house, to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: O house of Israel, enough of all your abominations, 7 in admitting foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, to be in my sanctuary, profaning my temple, when you offer to me my food, the fat and the blood. You have broken my covenant, in addition to all your abominations. 8 And you have not kept charge of my holy things, but you have set others to keep my charge for you in my sanctuary.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How long until the fulfillment of the vision of the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host to be trampled?” 14 He said to me, “It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be properly restored.”

[2300 days describes the time amounts of Revelation: 5 months (Rev 9:5) + an hour, day, month, year (Rev 9:15) + 1260 days (Rev 11:3) + 3.5 days (Rev 11:11) + 70 weeks to ‘finish the transgression’ (Dan 9:24).]
[…]

Again, the little horn arises out of the four parts of Greece.
Dan 8:18 While he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Then he touched me, helped me to my feet, 19 and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end.
Dan 8:20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat represents the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king.

The little horn arises out of the four parts of Greece.

He is skilled in intrigue.

Dan 8:22 The four horns that replaced the broken one represent four kingdoms that will rise from that nation, but will not have the same power.
Dan 8:23 In the latter part of their reign, when the rebellion has reached its full measure, an insolent king, skilled in intrigue, will come to the throne.

He is skilled in intrigue.

Dan 11:21 In his place a despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a time of peace and seize the kingdom by intrigue.
Dan 8:24 His power will be great, but it will not be his own.

[It will not be his own because he is not the legitimate ruler of the kingdom of the North as described in Dan 11:21.]

He destroys the mighty men and the holy people.
Dan 8:24 He will cause terrible destruction and succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men along with the holy people.

He destroys the mighty men and the holy people.

Dan 11:25 And with a large army he will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South, who will mobilize a very large and powerful army but will not withstand the plots devised against him. 26 Those who eat from his provisions will seek to destroy him; his army will be swept away, and many will fall slain.

He arises during a time of peace.

Dan 8:25 Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause deceit to prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of peace he will destroy many,

He arises during a time of peace.

Dan 11:23 After an alliance is made with him, he will act deceitfully; for he will rise to power with only a few people. 24 In a time of peace, he will invade the richest provinces and do what his fathers and forefathers never did. He will lavish plunder, loot, and wealth on his followers, and he will plot against the strongholds—but only for a time.
Dan 11:27 And the two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table, but to no avail, for still the end will come at the appointed time.

He stands against the prince of princes.
Dan 8:25 and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands.

He stands against the prince of princes, Michael.
Dan 12:1 “At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.

St. Augustine on Satan's deceptions in the last days

SATAN’S END-TIMES DECEPTION:
St. Augustine on False Signs and Wonders
St. Augustine’s observation in City of God (Book 20, Chapter 19) offers a profound warning about Satan’s activity during the end times.
He identifies Satan’s strategy of deception through false signs and wonders, unprecedented in scale, designed to lead people astray. This prophecy aligns with biblical teachings and Catholic eschatology.
Let us delve into the implications of Augustine’s insights, the biblical foundation for his warning, and how Catholics can guard themselves against such deceptions.
---
St. Augustine’s Insight: A Lie Disguised as Divine
The Nature of Satan’s Deception
Augustine warns that Satan will perform "false signs and wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9) that mimic divine power to mislead humanity. These will be so extraordinary that many will believe they could only come from God.
The deception lies in the fact that these wonders are designed to appeal to human pride, curiosity, and desperation, drawing people away from the truth of Christ.
He writes:
"They shall believe a lie, because they refused to love the truth and be saved" (City of God 20.19, quoting 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).
Unprecedented Power
What distinguishes these false wonders from prior instances of satanic activity is their unparalleled scope and effectiveness.
Augustine asserts that Satan will, for the first time, unleash his full power, which God has previously restrained. This aligns with Revelation 20:7-8, where Satan, after being loosed for "a little while," deceives the nations one last time.
---
Biblical Foundations of Satan’s False Wonders
1. Jesus’ Warning
Jesus explicitly warns about false messiahs and prophets in the end times:
"For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24).
These signs will be so convincing that even the faithful will be tempted to doubt or falter.
2. St. Paul’s Description of the Antichrist
St. Paul describes the "man of lawlessness" who will be empowered by Satan:
"The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing" (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10).
This highlights that Satan’s ultimate aim is to lead souls into eternal perdition by presenting counterfeit miracles that distract from God’s truth.
3. The Book of Revelation
Revelation 13:13-14 portrays the beast performing great signs, such as making fire come down from heaven, to deceive humanity. These wonders are designed to mimic divine power and to compel worship of the beast, symbolizing ultimate rebellion against God.
---
Theological Implications
1. The Power of Satan Is Limited
While Satan’s power is real and formidable, it is not equal to God’s. Augustine emphasizes that Satan can only act within the boundaries permitted by God.
This truth reassures the faithful that Satan’s wonders, though astonishing, are ultimately under God’s sovereign control.
2. The Test of Faith
The end times will be a period of purification, where true believers are distinguished from those who are lukewarm or easily deceived.
As Augustine notes, those who "refuse to love the truth" will be deluded. This echoes 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12, where God allows deception as a consequence of willful rejection of truth.
3. The Role of the Elect
Augustine points out that even the elect may be tested but will not ultimately be lost. The Church teaches that God grants special graces to sustain the faithful during trials, fulfilling Jesus’ promise that "the gates of hell shall not prevail against [the Church]" (Matthew 16:18).
---
Satan’s Tactics in the End Times
1. Counterfeit Miracles
These false wonders may include healings, displays of supernatural power, or manipulations of nature. They will be designed to imitate Christ’s miracles, creating confusion about the source of their power.
2. Exploitation of Human Weakness
Satan will exploit fear, suffering, and the desire for solutions during times of crisis. By presenting himself as a savior figure, he will deceive many into abandoning their trust in God.
3. Division and Confusion
False signs will likely cause division within the Church, as some may be swayed by their apparent authenticity, while others hold fast to tradition and Scripture.
This division aligns with Satan’s strategy to "strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered" (Mark 14:27).
---
How Catholics Can Prepare
1. Deepening Faith and Knowledge of Scripture
Catholics must immerse themselves in Scripture, the Catechism, and the teachings of the Church to discern truth from falsehood. Jesus’ warning in Matthew 24:4—"See that no one leads you astray"—emphasizes the importance of vigilance.
2. Receiving the Sacraments
The sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation, provide the grace and strength needed to resist temptation and deception. The Eucharist, in particular, fortifies the soul against spiritual attacks (John 6:56).
3. Cultivating Discernment
Spiritual discernment, guided by the Holy Spirit, is crucial. Catholics should test all spirits, as St. John advises:
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God" (1 John 4:1).
4. Remaining Humble and Prayerful
Pride and self-reliance make individuals vulnerable to deception. Humility and constant prayer, including devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, help safeguard against Satan’s snares.
---
While St. Augustine’s warning about Satan’s unprecedented power during the end times is sobering, Catholics can take comfort in the ultimate victory of Christ.
Revelation 20:10 assures us that Satan’s reign is temporary, and his final defeat is inevitable:
"And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
The faithful are called to remain steadfast, relying on God’s grace and the truth of the Gospel.
By clinging to Christ, the Church will endure even the greatest deceptions, fulfilling the promise of salvation for those who persevere.
MODERN EXAMPLES of False Signs and Deceptions:
A Catholic Perspective
While St. Augustine wrote about Satan’s extraordinary signs in the end times, many examples today reflect the groundwork being laid for such deceptions.
These contemporary manifestations exploit technology, culture, and spiritual confusion, aiming to undermine faith, distort truth, and lead souls astray. Here are key examples:
---
1. The Manipulation of Technology and Science
Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a “God-like” Entity
Some promote AI as a force capable of solving humanity’s greatest problems, even as a replacement for religion or God. For instance:
AI "prophets" generating moral or ethical codes.
Predictive algorithms mimicking omniscience, creating the illusion of divine-like foresight.
This fosters idolatry by encouraging people to place ultimate trust in technology rather than God.
Deepfake Technology and Virtual Reality
Deepfake videos and virtual reality create hyper-realistic deceptions. These technologies could be exploited to fabricate miracles, false appearances of Christ, or other phenomena, leading many to confusion and misplaced devotion.
Example: A deepfake of a religious figure delivering heretical teachings might deceive millions, particularly in a digitally dependent world.
---
2. False Messiahs and Spiritual Leaders
Self-Proclaimed Prophets
Numerous individuals claim divine authority or supernatural powers, drawing large followings. For example:
Leaders of cults who perform staged "miracles" or use psychological manipulation to appear divinely inspired.
Claims of healing or visions that are later proven fraudulent.
Example: Jim Jones (Jonestown massacre) manipulated thousands into believing he was a divine leader, leading to tragedy.
The Prosperity Gospel
Preachers of the prosperity gospel promise health, wealth, and success, often performing theatrical “healings.” These false promises exploit desperation and undermine true faith in God’s providence.
---
3. Pseudo-Spiritual Movements
New Age Practices
Practices like astrology, crystal healing, and channeling spirits often claim to tap into divine energy but are rooted in occult practices. These lead people away from Christ and towards reliance on false, deceptive powers.
Example: “Energy healers” who claim to perform miracles through vague, unverified spiritual energy.
Modern Witchcraft and the Occult
The resurgence of witchcraft, Tarot readings, and pagan rituals glamorizes spiritual powers apart from God. Social media influencers normalize occult practices, especially among younger generations.
---
4. Cultural Idols and Ideologies
Celebrity “Worship”
Many modern celebrities or influencers are treated as quasi-divine figures, with their influence surpassing traditional religious authorities. Fans idolize their lifestyles, opinions, and even moral dictates, replacing Christ as the ultimate model of virtue.
Example: A celebrity promoting anti-Christian values through popular platforms can mislead millions into moral relativism.
Relativism and Secular Humanism
The idea that truth is subjective undermines the objective truth of the Gospel.
Promoters of relativism often present this worldview as enlightened or compassionate, but it leads to confusion and spiritual blindness.
Example: A cultural trend declaring all religions equal in truth dilutes the unique claims of Christianity, leading to syncretism.
---
5. Exploitation of Natural Phenomena
False Interpretations of Cosmic Events
Natural events like eclipses, pandemics, or environmental disasters are often manipulated to incite fear or bolster false messianic claims.
Example: Groups interpreting the COVID-19 pandemic as a sign of the world’s end to manipulate followers into cults or extremist ideologies.
Climate Change as a Pseudo-Religion
While stewardship of creation is essential, some elevate environmentalism to the status of a pseudo-religion, claiming humanity’s salvation rests entirely in human efforts rather than divine providence.
Example: Movements that idolize nature to the exclusion of God, attributing divine-like qualities to the Earth itself.
---
6. Persecution and Division Within the Church
Scandals in the Church
Satan sows division by amplifying scandals within the Church. False narratives or exaggerated reports can lead many to doubt the Church’s holiness, fostering apostasy.
Example: Media exploitation of abuse scandals to erode trust in the priesthood and sacraments.
---
How to Discern and Resist False Signs Today
1. Grounding in Scripture and Tradition
Regular study of Scripture, the Catechism, and Church teachings enables discernment. Christ warns:
“You will know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16).
2. Sacramental Life
Frequent reception of the Eucharist and Reconciliation strengthens the soul, providing grace to withstand deception.
3. Vigilance in Prayer
Praying for wisdom and discernment, particularly through the Rosary, invokes the intercession of the Blessed Mother, who crushes Satan’s deceptions.
4. Seeking Guidance from Faithful Leaders
Trust in orthodox priests, bishops, and theologians who remain faithful to the Magisterium helps navigate confusing times.
---
CONCLUSION:
Standing Firm in Christ
The false signs and wonders of today are precursors to the extraordinary deceptions St. Augustine predicted for the end times.
These phenomena challenge Catholics to remain vigilant and steadfast in their faith.
By clinging to Christ and the truths of the Church, the faithful can resist Satan’s lies and prepare for the ultimate victory of Christ, who will destroy all deception and establish His eternal kingdom.
The first person who comes to mind is Lebron James. He was dubbed "The Chosen One" before doing anything. He has "Chosen One" tattooed on his back. He calls himself "King James". No one gave him that nickname, he took it. He's been doing everything to consolidate his influence on major networks to the point where he has media plants who target basketball players who diminish his greatness. He's a true luciferian.

Government-Funded NGO Caught on Undercover Video Giving ICE Evasion Training

Chinese-American Planning Council Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer Carlyn Cowen was caught on undercover video giving ICE evasion training during a radical activist meeting in New York City. This radical far-left NGO has ties to top New York Democrats such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Rep. Dan Goldman and Governor Kathy Hochul.

Just one more example of Democrats using taxpayer money for political purposes.
Gateway Pundit bashing Democrats? Oh noes! How will they ever recover?

Politicians spending taxpayer money? Oh noes! How dare they allocate money to help their constituents!

God in All Things

God in All Things

In the lily's bloom so white and pure,
I see God's glory strong and sure.
For as its petals shine so bright,
God’s majesty beams with holy light.

Mountains stand, unshaken and tall,
Like God’s strength that never falls.
Through storm and time they still endure,
A rock of refuge, firm and sure.

Like a river flowing free,
God’s mercy washes over me.
It carves the stone, it shapes the land,
Yet lifts me up with gentle hands.

Flames refine like trials test,
God’s justice burns yet gives us rest.
Not to destroy, but make us whole,
And cleanse the dross within the soul.

Look to the stars in endless height,
Each one a promise shining bright.
For as they glow through darkest skies,
So God’s covenant never dies.

The wind unseen yet felt so near,
Speaks of God who’s always here.
He breathed in dust, and man was made,
His Spirit still gives us life today.

Like finest gold that gleams so true,
God’s commandments shine anew.
No rust can stain, no time decay,
His holy words never fade away.

As pastures call the sheep to stay,
God’s love will never turn away.
His voice still calls, both firm and mild,
To lead us home, His wandering child.

As evening fades and peace draws near,
God’s Sabbath whispers, “I am here.”
A holy time, a gift so blessed,
In Him alone my soul finds rest.

When morning breaks with golden rays,
I see God’s truth that lights my days.
And when the night begins to fall,
His presence shines, the light of all.

God is everywhere, in all we see,
In earth, in sky, in you, in me.
His love, His truth, His mighty hand,
Forever rules the sea and land.

Pew data profiles demographics, beliefs, and practices of U.S. Catholics

Nearly 20% of adults in the United States — approximately 50 million people — call themselves Catholic, but the American Catholic population is diverse in its beliefs, its adherence to Church teaching, and its religious practices as well as its social and political views.

Much of this data was revealed in the 2023-2024 Religious Landscape Study conducted by Pew Research Center, which was published earlier this year.

The analysis by Pew finds that the proportion of the Catholic population in the United States has fallen over the past decade and a half, as about 24% of the country’s population identified as Catholic in 2007. The religiosity of those who identify as Catholic has also decreased in that time frame.

Immigrants currently make up about 29% of the American Catholic population and children of immigrants make up an additional 14%, accounting for 43% of the total number. Hispanic Catholics account for most of the immigrant or first generation Catholic segment and have also become a larger percentage of the country’s overall Catholic population, growing by 7 points since 2007 and now making up 36% of American Catholics.

Pope’s condition shows ‘slight improvement’ as medical care continues

Pope Francis continues to show “slight improvement” in his respiratory condition as he receives ongoing medical care at the Vatican, according to the latest update from the Holy See Press Office on Friday.

According to the Vatican, the pope’s mood remains positive as his pharmaceutical, motor, and respiratory therapies continue. The Holy See also noted Sunday’s Angelus might be conducted differently compared with recent weeks, with more details expected on Saturday.

The 88-year-old pontiff has improved his respiratory function, mobility, and voice, while recent blood tests indicate a mild improvement in infection markers, Vatican officials said.

Although the pope still requires supplemental oxygen, his need for it has slightly decreased. During the day, he receives standard oxygen therapy, while high-flow oxygen is administered through nasal cannulas at night as needed.

Will the mills come home?

A link would be beneficial. Any chance of you providing one?

What mill has had 275,000 layoffs?
It seems you missed the above request -
I think a president has a responsibility to choose cabinet members who have the experience and background and willingness to learn to be effective.
Last week, we saw incompetent Cabinet members put the lives of our Air Force pilots at risk. We saw Waltz used Gmail for govt business as well as Signal. With that kind of security, our enemies could easily hack in.
This president is not like other presidents. His staff are not like other leaders.
His demands don't have a foundation in the good of our nation.

Post-election data shows nonreligious population in U.S. has plateaued

According to data from the 2024 Cooperative Election Study (CES), the number of Americans who do not identify with any religion has largely stopped rising and has even slightly decreased among certain generations.

The Harvard-run CES is conducted before and after U.S. presidential and midterm elections and is then uploaded for analysis to Harvard’s “Dataverse” online repository. The study includes 60,000 American adults interviewed to survey how they vote.

Ryan Burge, the research director for the religious outreach initiative Faith Counts, said on X on Wednesday that the 2024 data reveals a plateau in the country’s population of “nonreligious” or “nones.”

VA rescinds punishment for chaplain, affirms sermons can be explicitly Christian

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has confirmed that chaplains can preach sermons with obviously Christian content at affiliated medical facilities and has rescinded a letter of reprimand after a chaplain was punished last year.

In a letter written in late February but recently made public, VA Secretary Doug Collins said "there is no national or local policy or standard operating procedure which inhibits Chaplain sermons."

"To the extent that there have been any proposed changes to any existing policy, those proposals will not move forward and have been rescinded," wrote Collins.

Hamas quietly erases 3,400 ‘casualties’ from its own war fatality lists, research shows

Hamas has quietly removed thousands of names from the casualty lists it has been releasing since the beginning of the war, according to a researcher who has closely tracked the changes throughout the conflict.

Research by Salo Aizenberg, a board member at the U.S.-based organization HonestReporting, revealed that more than 3,400 previously reported deaths have been erased from Hamas’ official lists.

Aizenberg has been highlighting discrepancies in the reported figures since October 2023.

Is Nightwish a Christian Band? Or is Their Music Satanic?

Their former lyrical content was much more centered around imagination, fantasy, longing, the pain of the poet, the tribulations of sin and even themes of Christianity. They're a band from Finland who formed on a civilization resting on cultural christianity, so that did play into the lyrical themes.

However, as soon as I found out who Richard Dawkins is and the fact that he introduces the the first song from 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (Which I still think is their last good album) with "The deepest solace lies in understanding. This ancient unseen stream. A Shudder before the beautiful.", I began to realize that as Nightwish's music has gone into a much more secular humanist/naturalist perspective on their lyrical content, their music has stagnated. I mean, really stagnated. They're not even the same band they were back with classics like "Oceanborn", "Wishmaster", "Century Child", and "Once". No more Marco Hielata on bass and vocals now. So 3 out of the classic lineup of 5 are no longer with the band: Jukka (drummer and friend of Tuomas), Tarja (Original singer), and Marco (great bass player with a great set of vocal pipes).

I'm not here to say what is and what isn't "kosher" to listen to. That's not for me to say. I follow my conscious. If it made me feel uncomfortable to listen to even in my agnostic days, I would skip over it. I'm sure members of the 101st Scripture Squadron will descend on this comment with possible indifference while I hope not. I appreciate educated individuals but I don't really have anything to say as I'm on my own spiritual journey and I'm no longer interested in anyone but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and am pursuing that through scripture and will be getting confirmed down the line.
