In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The group The Resurrection Project has been representing Gonzalez since his detainment last month.

The group said his brother, Jose Alfredo Pacheco, has end-stage kidney failure and needs a kidney transplant.

Supporters said a year ago, that detained brother sought asylum in the United States from Venezuela with the goal of donating his kidney and was allowed, up until last month, to care for his brother in Cicero, while under an order of supervision, which required him to wear an ankle monitor.

We knew who this guy was, where he was, and why he was here. But ICE needs to hit those quotas.

As has become common in these cases (and as the rest of the sentence after that comma make clear) doctors look for networks to play a game of musical kidneys.

What has happened to his Asylum claim?

And from the end of the article:
“The Resurrection Project said its been told by an ICE official that Gonzalez could be transferred from Indiana to the Chicago ICE field office as early as Friday and released under conditions.”

As with the case with Mr Khalil, ICE seems to have been instructed to haul detainees across state lines

What about the fact that after being here for a year he still has not taken a genetic test for compatibility. I mean, I thought his brother was in need of a transplant and that was his excuse for coming here illegally. Or did God miraculously heal his brother's kidney so now there is no need/rush?
