In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

3 Ways to Become Childlike to Enter Heaven

Jesus emphasizes that, no matter what we do, endure, or become as Christians, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven without becoming like little children. Why is this childlikeness an indispensable requirement to enter the kingdom of God?

What instruments do you play?

I play acoustic guitar, some bass and piano. Oh an the harp. I like rythm and blues. I get jealous of those who can play lead lol. But I most definitely love a good lead. Derek Trucks being one of my favorites.

Oh and just out of interest I have done some recording. What do you think of virtual instruments. I know its cheating a bit. But it does allow you to play all sorts of instruments. Though limited in its realness. Nothing like the real thing.

In Spirit and In Truth

John 4:21-26 NASB1995: Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

If you have not read this story before, I encourage you to read it in its full context (John 4:1-42), but I will try to summarize it for you here:

Jesus was on his way to Galilee, and he had to pass through Samaria. Now, traditionally Jews had no dealings with Samaritans who were a mixed race of Jews and Gentiles. The Jews traditionally despised the Samaritans, and often they would go around Samaria rather than to walk through it, from what I understand. So for Jesus to walk through Samaria, and then to have a conversation with a Samaritan woman at a well was highly unusual. But he asked her for a drink of water, and then they talked for a little while.

And Jesus used this opportunity to share with her the message of the gospel, essentially. And he used the subject of water as a catalyst to speak to her of living water which has to do with our salvation from sin and our eternal life with God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives via biblical faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives, in death to sin and in walks of obedience to our Lord’s commands, all in the power of God. This water refreshes us spiritually and it makes us new in Christ Jesus.

Then Jesus told the woman to go call her husband, fully knowing that she had no husband, that she had had five husbands, and the man she was living with presently was not her husband. And after she confessed to him that she had no husband, Jesus declared to her what he knew of her history. So she perceived that he must be a prophet. And following that she stated that her people’s fathers worshipped in the mountain where she was located, but the Jews claimed that only in Jerusalem was the place of worship of God.

What Jesus said to her next is very relevant to our lives today and to the church today. For, when Jesus Christ died on that cross, and he rose from the dead, and he ascended back to his Father in heaven, and he sent his Holy Spirit to indwell his followers, the physical Jewish temple of God was no longer the holy temple of God. Now God, by his Spirit, lives within all who believe in Jesus Christ, and we now are the temple of God. Absolutely no physical building is “the church,” but we who believe in Jesus are the church.

So, we do not have to go to any specific location to worship God. We now worship him in spirit and in truth in any location or day of the week or time of day. For he dwells within us, his body. So no building called “church” is “the house of God.” We who believe in Jesus Christ are the house of God. No room in those physical buildings called “church” is the sanctuary of God, and we are not standing on holy ground when we enter into a physical building or into a particular room in that building, which is not of God, but of man.

So please understand that the church is not a place you go to and then you leave until you go back the next week. The church is the body of Christ who by faith in Jesus Christ were crucified with Christ in death to sin, and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as servants of righteousness in walks of obedience to our Lord, by his grace and in his power. And we can meet together anywhere, even on the internet, or via a phone call, or via a video chat. Meeting is what matters.

But not just the fact that we meet together, but with what purpose we gather together, whether or not our purpose is biblical. For the Scriptures teach that we are all ministers, and that we all are to minister to one another, and we all are to be teaching, counseling, exhorting, and encouraging one another in our walks of faith in obedience to our Lord and away from all that is worldly and fleshly and sinful. And we are to be warning each other against all that is false so we can follow after the truth.

As the Deer

By Martin J. Nystrom
Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Proof of mathematical classes P=NP using Religion

The P versus NP problem is a major unsolved problem in theoretical computer science. Informally, it asks whether every problem whose solution can be quickly verified can also be quickly solved.

To cite Preprint

most simple solution to that or any problem: asking Jesus Christ.
Why? He knows all perfectly. Why?
All-knowing Source of Life gave us wisdom. You cannot know all and
at the same time doubt that the All-knowing One exists. One's existence
can explain how Prof. Srinivasa Ramanujan got his insights.

From this follows the equality P=NP of classes
as solution to another Millennium Prize problem.
The proof of Riemann Hypothesis is first step of proving the
generalized Riemann hypothesis; indeed, general L(s)-function
is proportional to Riemann's zeta(s) function: L(s) = tau(s) zeta(s).

Then, at least some zeroes of zeta-function are zeroes of the
L-function. If however, some zeroes of the L-function
are off the critical line Re(s)=1/2, they are zeroes of the coefficient tau(s).

Such functional precision means that tau(s) acts like L(s), but zeta(s) is not 1.

Therefore, proof of Riemann Hypothesis can imply proof of its generalization.
Latter consequence is many special cases of P=NP: Miller-Rabin test runs in polynomial time if general Riemann Hypothesis is true;
as well AKS primality test, Shanks-Tonelli algorithm, Ivanyos-Karpinski-Saxena deterministic algorithm.

That seems similar to something i'm hypothesizing about chess based on my research... at higher levels, it may not be possible to explain winning moves discursively in any form using syntax in a precise manne. Perhaps you can have perfect evaluation, and perfect play, but not both. I'm trying to do more research and reason from analogy from there, at least gesturing towards an answer: it's also possible that the highest truths of something like chess may not be reducile to finite analysis or discrete logic.

Doubts multiplied

Peter2 >
May be the whole of my belief lies in :
the ridicule of Christ on the cross might come from God trying to teach men not to fear looking ridiculous, since Jesus didn't fear to let his messianity look ridicule.

I believe such is God's and Christ's glory.
So that whatever offense, ridiculous or else, they may add to Christ's sufferings, it 'll turn to God's glory
I haven't reached the point of no return, but I suppose that the above quote nevertheless has a testamentary dimension.;)

Here is my motivation:

As truth seems to be less and less accepted these days, in favor of a supposed decorum, I wanted to re-express, in this last thread, my appreciation for the moderators for their flexibility.

The subject is indeed difficult, since I am expressing my feelings, which are that no Muslim would consider republishing the offensive cartoons of Mohammed that led to the beheading of Samuel Paty.

As for me,
I think it would be to God's honor if I republished the satirical representations of the Last Supper by the transvestites at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, if one of them had been beheaded by a christian.
Indeed, the message of the cross is that any humiliation of Jesus, even posthumous, even post-resurrection, is absorbed by the glory of the resurrection.
Thus,
what in my eyes would truly defile the cross would be this possible beheading. The parody of the transvestites, in comparison, is nothing but ignorance.

Conclusion:
My idea of God's honor is diametrically opposed to the idea that Muslims have of the honor of their god.

Protesters storm Home 2 Suites in Minneapolis, one Federal officer injured

I know a DNR officer who single handedly captured several escapees. IIRC, he caught them making their way through a swamp / river basin. They have more authority than many might think.
Those some feisty fish.

THE PURPOSE OF TONGUES IN THE ASSEMBLY

It's important to understand the history of it in the Old Testament to know what is actually happening in Corinth when Paul speaks about it, both encouraging, and rebuking.

Tongues is just a sixteenth century word for languages. I think that some people like the term 'tongues' because it giveth them a magic hocus pocus feeling. It just means languages. No need for the sign anymore. It's primary purpose has went and gone. The secondary uses that were necessary to keep it Biblical went with it. One of the main reasons tongues were spoken at Pentecost pointed towards A.D 70. as was noted in the link provided, God's judgment on Israel. Tongues were also spoken to show by way of miracle that God's "Promise of the Father" that was owed to OT saints was being given, the NT indwelling that all Christians receive the moment Jesus places the Holy Spirit in them, called the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It also showed that God was undoing the confusion of languages that He caused way back in Babylon to evangelize the whole world. The Gentiles were now grafted in per Romans 11:17-24 to provoke Israel to jealousy. Please at least glance over the link provided if you're going to respond. Thanks.

Dave
And I have a hard time why some say we are GRAFTYED into Sheep or GRAFTED VINES or into BRANCHES

WHEN we are PLACED into Christ in. GAL 3:28 WHERE the Greek word ARE //. ESTE is in the Greek

PRESENT TENSE AND are ONE. // HEIS in. the text with CHRIST. !!

Trans state rep Leigh Finke calls for agitators to keep storming churches until ICE is out of Minnesota

Thanks Riley, people forget to some extant both Catholics and Orthodox have multiple churches within single communions.
Correct- the Catholic Church has eastern rites and Anglican use in full communion with the Pope, and the Orthodox Church has national Churches, and even a western rite.

Thousands of UFOs in the night sky may be imminent.

A strange engine and a job in that dream have come in the scene. It's probably prophetic.

I just received a parcel that I wasn't expecting. I didn't buy nor requested it. Someone gave it to me as a gift.

And it looked EXACTLY like the strange engine in my dream. It's not an engine but it looked identical to the engine in my dream, totally weird!

It seemed like we're now on a countdown.

I don't think it's the rapture nor the 2nd coming. The few people that were spared were from mixed backgrounds from many different beliefs including pagan and Atheists. The aliens looked like the beings the Native Americans drew and it seems these events are deeply connected to them.

This is all too strange yet the events in my dream are slowly unfolding. It all starts with a powerful EMP attack or even an AI virus. Planes just start falling from the sky and the armed forces of the world are crippled without firing a shot. The soldiers are totally helpless, all they could do is stand and watch. No nuclear explosions, I think the nukes were crippled too, somehow.

Mob who stormed Cities Church told kids their parents were 'Nazis' who were 'going to burn in Hell': affidavit

I think they should have said what they wanted to say from a picket line on the sidewalk, and not inside the church to disrupt worship there.
Agreed. That would have been more appropriate.

No mo' mowers and yo' leaf blowers...

for little lawns they may work...but when I've seen the vast rolling acreage that people in the upstate region have, I can't imagine any of the reps from that part of the state would be on-board with it.

I take the upstate corridor on i-90 from Buffalo to Syracuse (then north up to Watertown) when I make trips up to the Canadian cabin... there's huge stretches up there where it seems like everyone has 5+ acres by the looks of it, and from what I'm seeing, the majority of battery power mowers can handle about 1/4 of an acre before needing a recharge.

John Deer started making those Z-track riding mowers that are electric and can do 1-2 acres per charge....if you've got $6800 bucks to buy one and a 220 quick charge line installed lol...otherwise, the front of your property will be ready to mow again by the time you've taken 3 charge breaks to finish the back.
Checked another brand that wasn't zero-turn, and it runs around $4,800 US. Same 2-acre limitation. Meanwhile, a gasoline powered riding mower by the same manufacturer and same size runs around $2,220. At current gasoline prices, that's a difference of 886.9 gallons. That's about 591 weeks for me. A rough estimate taking in dry spells comes down to almost 74 years of mowing to make up the difference.

Struck out looking for a drop-in battery to evaluate the cost. The charger for the battery runs nearly $600, so that's likely part of the initial expense.

Would also like to see how well it performs in Bahia grass. It presents a challenge to the electric push mower I have. For that matter, it presents a challenge to gasoline powered mowers, if it's a spell of wet weather and the stuff is thick.

The reason I have an electric push mower is the same reason I have an electric chain saw: Engine issues. After the replacement carburetor I put on one didn't last out the season, I went electric rather than thrown good money after bad. It does what I need. The best thing is I happened to get it on clearance as the store was clearing out mowers to make room for Christmas stuff. End result is I paid right at what I would for a gasoline powered push mower.

No more than I use a chainsaw, it made more sense to go electric - except there's no way to charge the battery when the power's out. The gas motors will require maintenance, or at least they do around here. The battery is interchangeable with the chainsaw battery, so I could use the mower battery in the chainsaw - the other way around would have too short a run time.

Health and Healing Study

"'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.'" (Matthew 6:33)

My understanding is this means that while I submit to God, He will provide the health and healing that I need for doing whatsoever is really His will. So . . . when I get in some problem, the first thing I might do is *answer*to*God* > submit to Him, in order for Him to have me do whatever He pleases. And it seems, included, that God teaches me how to take care of myself, in ways I have never been told, but yes using things I have learned in study and past experience.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" > in 2 Corinthians 12:9.

In any situation I can receive and submit to how His grace has me be and what He has me doing. And it is not only about myself, but God is all-loving; so this grace is working for His all-loving good . . . not only for my own comfort and convenience!
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
A closer walk can preclude illness. In the event of illness, when we turn to the Lord for guidance in seeking healing and if necessary discipline, that too is seeking first the kingdom.

First Amendment doesn’t protect protests that disrupt church services, civil liberties org. says

In the aftermath of last Sunday's storming of Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, a nonpartisan civil liberties group says that the First Amendment does not protect protesters who interrupt church services, refuting claims made by political commentator Don Lemon.

In a post written by one of its board members, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, which specializes in First Amendment cases and represents clients from a wide range of backgrounds and political beliefs, stressed that houses of worship are not public forums and that entering a church to disrupt a service is not a protected form of protest.

Continued below.
Protesters can protest church services but not on private property, owned by the church. Other restrictions may also apply, depending on local ordinances.

Prayers

Please pray that God will allow me to have good health today, less anxiety and safe blood pressure. Also please pray that if it is God's will my son Jakeb will be happy and healthy and God will allow me to hear him laugh or see him smile. Today is my birthday and I thank God for allowing me to be with my family for so many years. Please dear God allow me good health today and to please keep my blood pressure down now and through my doctor appointment and please allow us to keep power to keep us warm. Dear God thank you for Your great mercy and allowing us to be warm. Thank You Dear God for hearing my prayers and answering so many. I ask in the name of Jesus. I love You Dear God and I love You Dear Jesus. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. God bless you for praying for us so often. Carmen

Oh praise GOD. I fully understand your prayer. Did you know He said if we know He hears us then we know we have the petitions/prayers we asked for. You should know He always always always hears the prayers of the righteous those that are born again. Right standing because they believe in Jesus.

For me.. years... yet in one moment this year Nov 24 our 41 Anniversary it was just gone. See I learned He cannot lie if He said it He will do it so no matter what I see or hear or feel I stand on His word and I do not put God on some time clock. Did He not say if two shall agree.. we agree that by His strips you "were" healed.. Peter and John said to the people looking at them "why do you look at us as if we did this by our own power? that NAME FAITH IN THAT NAME healed this man". Yeah there was no prayer.. in JESUS NAME.

You asked your friend.. you asked your best friend.. you asked your Savior you asked your GOD and Abba. Do you really think He can say no? He already said YES! I can not speak of things I do not know. So hold on.. KNOW He heard you.. the GOD of all things.... heard YOU.. so hold on.. in JESUS name .. all you need is faith in GOD... anxiety? Go in Jesus name.. it has to go. it has not choice here.. safe blood pressure..something else I told you I fully understand :) has to come down to what you asked.. safe pressure.

I spoke to my babies before they were born.. always spoke the word over them and gave them to Him.. now 30/34 and no matter what I see or hear or feel.. He is at work in their lives. So remember who your talking to.. health for today only? :) yeah every day you walk up.. resting in His peace.. His joy.. His strength...His power...His armor. You know David n Psa 4 said "Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!" then just a few verses later.. ooh FIATH said "The Lord will hear when I call to Him"

Know He is in you KNOW He is for you .. never against you.. He is not sad or upset with you.. and loves you more so much more then you know. Cares about all those needs...even the hmm silly ones? Praise GOD

German cardinal: ‘For me the Synodal Way is over’

Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki of Cologne has declared the controversial German Synodal Way process finished in his eyes, expressing skepticism about plans to establish a permanent synodal conference.

A German cardinal has declared his participation in the controversial German Synodal Way finished, expressing deep skepticism about plans to establish a permanent synodal conference.

“For me the Synodal Way is concluded,” Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki of Cologne said according to CNA Deutsch, the German-language sister service of EWTN News.

The proposed synodal conference concept represents the latest iteration of plans to establish a permanent body in Germany in the wake of the controversial process, following repeated interventions by Pope Francis and the Vatican.

The cardinal’s remarks, made in an interview with Cologne’s Domradio, came as he confirmed he will not attend the sixth synodal assembly taking place this week in Stuttgart.
