[Matthew 19:17 KJV] "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."
[Matthew 19:17 NIV] ""Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.""
The new Bibles remove God from this verse and thereby negate it saying Jesus is God.
Yet again you have used the phrase, "The new bibles", as though all translations of the bible newer than the KJV remove the word "God" from Matthew 19:17. They don't. For example:
NKJV (Mat 19:17) So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One,
that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
MKJV (Mat 19:17) And He said to him, Why do you call Me good? There is none good but one,
that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
WEB (Mat 19:17) He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but one,
that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
YLT (Mat 19:17) And he said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one is good
except One—God; but if thou dost will to enter into the life, keep the commands.'
CEV (Mat 19:17) Jesus said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good?
Only God is good. If you want to have eternal life, you must obey his commandments."
It is more accurate to say, "Some new bibles remove....." rather than stating that all do. It is clear from te five examples I have given that all do not remove God.
