  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Passover 2025

Historians debate when exactly Jesus was executed. It was probably around Passover, but it may not have been exactly on the observance of the Passover.
Your cited historians [whomever they are] don't know scripture.

Ex 3:
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5 (A) Your lamb shall be without blemish

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
(PARSING: VERSE 3; On the "10th day" of the beginning month. On the Jewish calendar Nisan is the beginning month!(SEE Esther 3:7)

VERSE 5; The chosen (by the father/head of the household) lamb had to be without blemish

VERSE 6; on the "14th day" the sacrificial lamb was killed!

On Nisan 10, God the Father's ""without blemish/sin free chosen Lamb/Jesus"". Rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. On Nisan 14/PASSOVER God's chosen sacrificial sin atoning Lamb was killed!
(NOTE: there was a Passover lamb/killed on the 14th day of Nisan & there was a Passover meal eaten on the 15th day of Nisan.

Additional supporting scripture

Lev 23:
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.

6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Biden says damage Trump has done to Social Security is 'breathtaking'

“Well, look what's happening. In fewer than 100 days, this new administration has made so much … done so much damage, and so much, it's kind of breathtaking it could happen that soon,” Biden said.
Biden avoiding saying his successor’s name. In his nearly 30-minute remarks, the 82-year-old often sounded hushed, with several distinct outbursts in defense of Social Security and its recipients. His only indirect mention of President Donald Trump was to call him “this guy.”

What changes has President Trump made to Social Security?
NONE except for exposing the theft of money that was paid to criminals

Love One Another

And you COMPLETELY missed the point... VERY, VERY few people who claim they are Christians live a life that aligns with what they say. The most effective way to spread the gospel is when a NON believer asks you about what makes you different just standing on a corner yelling at passer by is a COMPLETE waste of time IMO as far as being effective and useful and THAT was the point you CLEARLY did not reply in the context in which I presented my view

What God has Prepared for Those who Love Him

“Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written,
“’What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him’— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:6-10 ESV)

We who have been called of God to proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light are all who are of genuine God-gifted and God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ. Not one of us is exempt. We are not to be withholding the truth of the gospel from the people of the world, and we are not to shirk our responsibilities to the body of Christ to minister to one another’s needs and to exhort one another in the faith.

But so many people today who are professing faith in Jesus Christ are not living the faith that they profess. They are not walking in the ways of the Lord, but they are still living to gratify the desires of the flesh. Their lives are centered around themselves and what they want out of life, and they are not centered around Jesus Christ and what he wants us to do in love response to him for what he did for us in dying on that cross for our sins.

And so it appears, at least here in America, that not many professers of faith in Jesus Christ are living the lives that God called all of us to live. And they are not impacting other people’s lives for Jesus Christ, because they are not compelled to do so. For so many of them are being taught that nothing is required of them other than an innocuous “faith” in Jesus Christ which makes no requirements for dying to sin and living to God to do his will.

But Jesus gave his life up for us on that cross to redeem us out of our lives of slavery to sin so that we will now serve God with our lives and honor him in all that we do. He saved us and called us to a holy calling so that we will now live in submission to him as Lord (Owner-Master) of our lives. And he has a plan and a purpose for each one of us that he wants us to do, in his power, if we will just surrender our wills to the will of God for our lives.

For to love God is to submit to him as Lord, and it is to surrender our lives to him to do his will, and it is to deny self, to die daily to sin, and to follow him in obedience to his commands. For if we claim to know him and to be in fellowship with him but while we continue living in sin, and while we do not obey him with our lives, then we are liars who do not live by the truth. For love is not just what we speak, but it is shown by what we do.

I Will Lift My Eyes

An Original Work / December 12, 2012
Based off Psalms 121-125

I will lift my eyes to my Lord Most High.
My help comes from Him, who saved me from sin.
He will not let your foot slip, and He who watches will not sleep.
Our Lord watches over you, and your life He will keep.
I will lift my eyes to my Lord Most High.
My help comes from Him, who saved me from sin.
I give thanks to Him.

I will lift my eyes to my God in heav’n.
I look to the Lord. My sins, He’s forgiv’n.
Because of His great love for us, He made us alive with Christ.
Through the kindness of our Savior, He gave us new life.
I will lift my eyes to my God in heav’n.
I look to the Lord. My sins, He’s forgiv’n;
My home, now in heav’n.

Praise be to the Lord, who is on our side.
Our help found in Him. He gives peace within.
Those who trust will ne’er be shaken. God will supply all we need.
Our Lord has done great things for us. He’s our friend, indeed!
Praise be to the Lord, who is on our side.
Our help found in Him. He gives peace within.
I can count on Him.

Letitia James Referred for Federal Mortgage Fraud Probe

It should be quite easy to determine the validity of some of the accusations, such as Letitia allegedly stating her father was her husband. I look forward to seeing the documents.
Just one more example of liberal hypocrisy! Karma must be a real thing, this self righteous prosecutor gets a dose of her own medicine. She posted: “Roses are red, Violets are blue, No one is above the law. Even when you think the rules don’t apply to you. Happy Valentines Day” You can’t make this stuff up.

The Cross of Christ

Jesus Christ died on a cross,
Put our sins to death,
Rose again on the third day
To give us new breath.

Put our sins to death with Him
So we’d die to sin,
Walk with Him, obey His word,
Our sins be forgiven.

Fellowshipping with our Lord,
One with Him by faith,
Living for Him, do His will,
Doing what He saith.

We His servants are to be,
Doing what He says,
Following daily where He leads,
For we are His friends.

Hear Him calling us to do
What He’s planned for us,
Calling us to Him be true,
In His righteousness.

Live for Jesus every day,
Walk in truth, no lie,
For that, sacrificed Himself,
So to sin we’ll die.

Share the gospel with the world
So they’ll die with Him
To their sins, now live for Him,
Have life now in heaven.

Don’t be fearful, some oppose
Us in what we do,
But be faithful to His Word,
Give Him what is due.

The 7 Last Words and the Nicene Creed: ‘I Thirst’

The fifth word from the cross points to Christ’s real bodily suffering — and his divine thirst for our salvation — as foretold in Scripture and confessed in the Creed.

Editor’s note: For more than 20 years, Father Raymond de Souza has preached the “Seven Last Words” devotion, a traditional meditation on the seven times Jesus speaks from the cross on Good Friday. Made famous in recent times by the Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, the meditations are usually organized around a particular theme. For 2025, Father de Souza chose the Nicene Creed as his theme, as the Catholic Church marks this year the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea. These meditations were preached at Holy Cross parish in Kemptville, Ontario, where Father de Souza is the pastor. The first three parts are here, here, here and here.

“After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said (in order to fulfill the scripture), ‘
I thirst.’ A jar full of sour wine was standing there. So they put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to his mouth” (John 19:28-29).

The fifth word from the cross is the shortest: “I thirst.”

It is the only time that Jesus speaks of his physical pain and suffering. The sufferings were intense. Along the Via Crucis, we mark those three falls of Jesus. The suffering and the pain under the weight of the cross were pushing Jesus down. We know that his passion took an enormous physical toll, because after Jesus had died on the cross, and the report is given to Pilate, he is surprised that Jesus has died so quickly. It was possible for people to hang on a cross for days. The debilitating cruelty of the Passion — the scourging, the crowning with thorns — had already weakened Jesus.

The fifth word speaks of that. The Passion was not some kind of elaborate play, but real in its physical pain and suffering. It is a bodily act, this redemptive crucifixion. It is a particularly cruel method of execution. Jesus suffers: He falls. He bleeds. He thirsts. That suffering, sweating, bleeding, thirsty body of Jesus is not an abstraction or a theological principle, it is a flesh-and-blood man in agony. The Nicene Creed summarizes all that very briefly:

Washing of feet at Vatican highlights Holy Thursday call to reject world that ‘betrays’ for profit

During the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti reflected on Jesus’ humble act of washing His disciples’ feet, calling the Church to become a Eucharistic people who serve with love rather than seeking power or profit.

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, Archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica, urged Catholics to reject a world that “betrays” people for economic gain and power, instead embracing the “power of service” exemplified by Christ washing the disciples’ feet at the Last Supper.

The prelate presided over the Mass in Coena Domini on April 17 at St. Peter’s Basilica, which included the traditional washing of feet ceremony with laypeople who work in or frequent the basilica.

DHS demands 'detailed records' of student visa holders at Harvard

There is no way that I as a taxpayer should have to be paying for the discrimination and civil rights violations that go on at Harvard. If they want to be anti-Jewish let them spend their own endowments.
The government is on a fishing expedition among students' private records. This has nothing to do with taxpayer dollars and everything to do with MAGA's War on Education. Remember how Mao went after the "intellectuals"?

Holy Thursday and the mass of the Lord's supper.

Do any of these resonate with you?
Well, I'm not into traditions, but humility and service and . . . what is it? Oh, remembrance . . . yes. These are what I should be valuing. But how am I, really, as a person? I can say, Yay these things, but I need how God makes my character really His love's way.
Jesus' commandment to love one another as he loved them
Definitely meaningful . . . needs to be meaningful all the time, not only on scheduled days. And how are we to know how Jesus was and loved?? We were not there with Him. But in us Jesus can grow so we become loving in sharing with Him in us. This is to be discovered, then, as we grow in Christ and His grace changing our character. I find this includes being humble, in the sense of not looking down on anyone, but being all-loving. And love as family with others who are into all-loving.

The term "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, meaning "command," referring to Jesus' commandment to love one another as he loved them.
Now, I am well aware that Jesus has told us to love each other the way He has loved us, plus we have scriptures of our Apostle Paul >

"forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you" (in Ephesians 4:31-32);

"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)

But hearing the word "Maundy" . . . it does not quite call my attention to this.

But . . . pointing out that this means a *command* . . . Jesus commands us to love like He has loved. So, this is not just some nice platitude, but required. Jesus really does want us to be so blessed ***in~sharing~with~Him*** so we can love like Jesus in us loves. He wants this intimacy for every one of us. This is not some ideal for only certain special super-saints. This is basic, commanded, what God's grace does in every one of us whose character is being cured and matured by God's grace.

He is the One who is super and spiritual and holy to do this in any of us.

So, yes we do have the Lord's Supper in "remembrance" of Jesus. And this should have our attention not only during special occasions, but all the time. I would say the "remembrance" of Jesus can include being in His love as remembrance of Him. And then keep on living and loving in this love. We might get a special inspiration and blessing of grace during a traditional ceremony, but this can be a "model" of how to keep on being all the time.

And prayer can be like this. While we are in prayer, we can get more with God, but then stay this way while doing different things and relating with different people. Get modeled in prayer . . . prepared in God's love . . . so then we are the right way in this love all the time with different people and doing different things.

And any time we are sharing with another child of God - - - we can be strengthening one another in this.

I now think of what Jesus said to Peter >

"Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren." (Luke 22:31-32)

Ok, so now I am getting something > this is a sample of how Jesus loved us. Jesus knew how Peter would deny Jesus three times. And this happened before Peter denied Jesus three times > already Jesus had prayed for Peter to come back to Jesus and then to strengthen his brethren.

So, are we loving people by praying for them with forgiveness even before they do things to us???????

And Jesus did not only pray for Peter to get so blessed. But Jesus prayed for Peter to also strengthen others the way the prayer of Christ got Peter blessed. So, the prayer of Jesus was all-loving prayer, not just favoritistic for Peter. And the benefit of Jesus' prayer was to minister on from Peter to others.

Jesus says, "your brethren" > all the brothers and sisters of Peter . . . all of God's family in Christ . . . no one being less or more than anyone else, but all to become "conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (in Romans 8:29)

So, with Jesus pray with this hope > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7) < in God's love, pray with Jesus. Share so with Jesus and one another. Jesus did not pray for Peter to only get out of his sin trouble, but to get into all-loving sharing with God and spread the grace of this to all of us.

Is the Anti-Christ Among Us?

I think we are really missing some things here.
First Satan is a copy cat because he has to be, he cant create life.
Keeping with that concept I think the last AntiChrist will be a hybrid, a Nephilm he will look human but he isnt just like the Nephilim before the flood were not human. These fallen angels were attempting to KEEP man in a fallen state. They were attempting to PREVENT the coming of Messiah.

God told Eve that from her the messiah would come and that he would crush the head of the serpent and the serpent would bruise his head. So why the flood have you asked why I mean that world was DESTROYED I think we gloss over stuff like that without really spending time on what it means LITERALLY. The entire surface of the planet was different after the flood GONE was the old world and all life outside of that on the Ark, God destroyed it because if he hadn't those fallen angels would have succeeded in their plan.

Genesis tells us that "ALL FLESH was corrupted," that man's almost ALL the animals and All the :humans were tainted. My point is this, and I will use an analogy. Imagine you are a football team and you are 20 yards away from being able to kick a game winning feild goal but you have to get 20 yards and in the process you run out of time to kick the game winning field goal IMAGINE what that team is thinking... we were so close to winning I could taste is. Now apply that to what the Fallen angels were thinking. They didn't abandon their first estate as peter puts it for punnai. It is crystal clear that they HATE MANKIND. You would most certainly believe if you had done just a few things differently, you would have succeeded.

The AntiChrist will look physically like a normal person you wont be able to tell he isnt human. He will be a Nephilim a hybrid, and NOT human. Things are about to get so weird and difficult to accept because it is so far beyond what 99% of christians believe about the end times. You can only get there when you are reading scripture if you accept ON ITS FACE what the text is saying. It will be such a strong delusion that if GOD did not shorten those days, EVEN THE MOST ELECT mature believer would be deceived.

The antichrist will be the son of Satan himself a hybrid. Satan is motivated by destroy Gods people and being the father of lies So asking if he is walking around today is the entirely WRONG question but WHAT is his is more on target because if I am correct and give the warning that the end would be so shall those days be like The Greek implies it will be the SAME.

Consider the legends of atlantis what destroyed it? A flood. Where do the mythical ancient gods and demigods come from... the world before the flood it was far more advanced than what people think and it will be like that at the end. Immortality will be the promise of the mark of the beast. How do I know that? Because scripture tells us that those who have taken the mark "WILL SEEK DEATH but not find it..." we need to stop alogorically these verse and accept them on there face

Unchurch will FLOCK to them with the promise you will never grow old and you will never die. Imagine you being at your physical peak how many will FLOCK to that???

Trump about a court decision on illegal immigrants

It may not be a bad idea.

"THE LURE OF A GOLDEN VISA

The number of Chinese using investment migration programs worldwide tripled between 2010 and 2015, the AP found among the countries in its survey . In the last decade, Chinese have taken 75 percent of the investor visas issued by the United States, 70 percent for Portugal and 85 percent for Australia. China also remains the top recipient of investor visas in Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Spain, Hungary and Malta.

Malta! There are very few Asians in Malta, I am surprised. The idea is to bring money into the country offering the visa or residency.

FBI, EPA, and Treasury told Citibank to freeze funds of Habitat for Humanity and other orgs as Trump administration tries to claw back climate money

“Can you proffer any evidence that [the grant] was illegal, or evidence of abuse or fraud or bribery — that any of that was improperly or unlawfully done, other than the fact that Mr. Zeldin doesn’t like it?” Judge Tanya Chutkan said.
Unsurprisingly, the answer to the judge's question is 'no'.

Judge rules against Trump admin after it couldn’t find evidence of fraud in clean energy program

A federal judge ruled against the Trump administration in the case that alleged fraud in a Biden-era clean energy program, unfreezing roughly $20 billion in funding meant to support projects like new solar energy arrays and efficiency upgrades for small businesses.

Judge Tanya Chutkan on Tuesday ruled in favor of the eight nonprofits that sued Citibank and the Trump administration, finding that the Environmental Protection Agency unlawfully terminated the program. Chutkan ordered the congressionally appropriated funds to be unfrozen at 2 p.m. Thursday and distributed to the nonprofits they were originally intended for.

The Trump administration said it will appeal.

Reciting Bible verse in sleep!

Hello @Laodicean60, you had a heart attack in September? Are you ok now?

Thanks!

God bless you!!

--David
My bad, 9/2023. I'm good, I believe I was healed by the Lord. Before coming home from the hospital, they told me to start walking to strengthen my heart, and I walked a half block and had extreme shortness of breath. It scared me, and when I got home, I got on my knees and begged and cried to the Lord, commanding myself to be healed. Giving God every excuse I could think of for wanting to live. The next day, I walked a mile. 4 days later, I told my cardiologist that I had walked 1.5 miles, and the look on his face was a Kodak moment. he asked, "You didn't have shortness of breath?" This is when I realized something out of the natural happened. My kids don't believe me, and to this day, I question sometimes whether God healed me. Oh ye of little faith, lol

Faith and your experience are always refreshing to hear because God does work in our lives.

What happened Holy Thursday night? One Polish nun says she knows

WROCLAW, Poland (OSV News) — A hidden chapter of Christ’s Passion has come to light through the mystical revelations of Servant of God Sister Leonia Nastal, a Polish nun whose spiritual diary offers harrowing details of Jesus’ imprisonment before the crucifixion.

Born in 1903, Sister Leonia joined the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, founded by Blessed Edmund Bojanowski in the 19th century. She died during World War II, at just 37 years old.

Her death caused a widespread stir, as throughout her convent life she was seen as a living saint. Locals testified that after her death, the sister’s hands were warm and the smell of flowers spread through the room. In 1976, the sainthood cause of Sister Leonia began. On Dec. 2, 2016, Pope Francis issued a decree on the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Sister Leonia.

Catholic students pray, assist others amid mass shooting at Florida State University

Catholic students at Florida State University have been praying and assiting their fellow Seminoles amid a mass shooting at the campus on Thursday, a ministry leader there told CNA.

News outlets reported on Thursday afternoon that multiple people had been injured during a shooting on the Tallahassee campus. Officials said the shooter was taken into custody after the incident. The shooting reportedly took place in or near the campus student union.

Sam Nunnally, the Catholic campus ministry director at the university, told CNA via email that the ministry’s parish and facilities “are directly across the street from the FSU student union. So we could hear gunshots as the incident occurred.”

“Many of the students in that area came running up the hill towards the church and remained in lockdown here for the duration of the event,” Nunnally said.

Front-line workers and students in a discipleship training program for North Korean defectors are continually adapting their ministry to encourage the participation of more students in different regions of South Korea. At the beginning of 2025, 42 North Koreans enrolled in a new regionally based program. Pray that, during recruitment trips, the Lord will send new North Korean defectors who have a heart for gospel ministry to be trained in discipleship techniques that have been effective. Read More.

Did the Egyptians know about applying blood on their doors to prevent the Destroyer from killing their firstborn?

When did Moses warn Pharaoh about the 10th plague?

Ex 11:

Moses warned Pharaoh on Nisan 14, bright and early in the day.

God made a special distinction between the Egyptians and his chosen people on the night of the Passover.

Ex 12:

The Lord spoke this to Moses in the month of Nisan in Egypt.

The Lord told Moses this schedule:
Nisan 10, choose a lamb.
Nisan 14 before sunset, kill the lamb.

After Moses had heard all the instructions, he repeated them to the people:

On the first passover in history, they selected and killed the lamb on the same day, Nisan 14.

How much time elapsed from the time God informed Moses to apply blood on the door posts to the actual execution time?

The Destroyer would show up in a matter of hours. It was urgent.

Did the Egyptians know about applying blood on their doors to prevent the Destroyer from killing their firstborn?

No, not generally. Moses didn't announce the solution to Pharaoh. News spread slowly back then. Some Egyptians who had Hebrew friends might know; probably not many because of the short time factor. This was a unique instruction given to the Israelites during the Passover event. Gentile Egyptians were not told.
Ex 11:9 says "the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart", although the details of the blood seems to be meant for the Hebrews even if Pharaoh knew it doesn't seem like he would have responded any differently.

Given the predisposition of ancient cultures to analogous pagan-like practices, you would think some Egyptians tried to copy what their neighbours were doing, and others may have had some inside information. But the supply or motivation to slaughter sheep might not have translated well to an Egyptian audience since according to Gen 46:34 Shepherds were somewhat taboo and generally seen as unfavourable.

Perhaps Egyptians thought the slaughtering of a sheep was beneath them or something you would try to avoid association with, and certainly not smearing sheep blood all over your door. I could see such an act being considered barbaric to a people group who detested the practice of keeping sheep. If true, very few or none would be interested in following or be convinced of it in a few hours of a single night.
