DENMARK’S GREENLAND ILLUSION Sovereignty without power

The existing 1951 treaty with Denmark (Greenland added later as a party) largely permits expansion of US military assets without any significant discussion. Where there might be more discussion necessary might be basing of US combat forces. But just more technical bases...that wouldn't require more than advance notice of intentions from the US.I had a thought on this recently. There have been mining contracts made that have not had anything done for 10 years. Some of this is probably the harsh conditions; but some of the delay is getting permits through both the Danish and the Greenlander regulatory agencies. My thought was this, what happens if the U.S. needs Arctic early warning and missile interceptors in Greenland and Northern Canada and the countries won't approve the installations or will only do them on short term leases? Do we let 57,000 Greenlanders put millions of people at risk of nuclear annihilation?
That's whole world of difference from a corporation establishing environmentally damaging resource extraction.
