CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another New World Order?

Way back when the Berlin wall was breaking down, George Bush Snr and compatriots were fond of quoting a "new world order".
They weren't looking very far ahead. Now there is another "new world order" on the horizon, this time led by China, with India a rising star while Russia has trouble subjugating Ukraine.

Since they spouted their NWO rhetoric, there have been two Gulf Wars, 9/11 and war in Afghanistan which ironically was one of the factors which led to the fall of the USSR. China is enjoying a meteoric rise in just about very field, and Islam has become an emerging force, while the Church struggles in the West.
Crystal balls in politics are notoriously fickle.

The art of deception (mind manipulation) is about turning positives into negatives and negatives into positives, or making them appear as if they're equally the same so no one can see the difference.It's not just a matter of lying to one's self; it's consciously holding a contradiction....as if it's true! That's impossible, I think.
Any reasoning based on something false will end in a contradiction. We can consciously hold contradictory thoughts ---> Cognitive dissonance, Happens all the time.
