FBI raids home of John Bolton, former Trump national security advisor

Normally, the FBI would be tight lipped.....but I suspect Bondi will be crowing about something by the end of day.
Often in such cases where a crowd has gathered there will be pictures or videos of officers carrying things away--boxes of records, computers, etc. Has anything like that surfaced?

Trump 1.0's National Security Advisor John Bolton's House Raided by FBI

This is informative. However, the case remained open for four years. If Bolton were not implicated, it would be expected that the FBI would have closed the investigation during that period.

edited - just another poster saying DOJ closed the case during Biden administration.

Well, if the DOJ didn't have a case to win in court, why keep it open?

Let's see the "new evidence" in the bright light of a US Federal Court Room. Bondi's DOJ has a very poor record to date.

Jesus & Social Justice

The exercise of which compassion had to be bought and paid for with the execution of justice, where there was no compassion to the one suffering the execution of that justice.
God provided for the execution of justice by sending Jesus to the cross. For those that believe the verdict is now innocent. For those the try to justify themselves, the verdict is guilty.

Trump 1.0's National Security Advisor John Bolton's House Raided by FBI

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

We can't have an informed opinion about the episode until we know what, exactly, was in the warrant and what probable cause was affirmed.

As someone with over 30 years in the IT field, I am puzzled that any administration keeps paper copies of national security information. With today’s technology, classified data can be accessed digitally as needed and deleted remotely, making physical copies unnecessary. Current systems can even prevent printing or photographing such information. That's why reports of President Trump, President Biden, or VP Pence having classified documents at home never made sense to me.

It appears that the practices of the US government in managing sensitive documents lag significantly behind current standards, by approximately 15 years.

We probably won't know the answer until the government shows its cards at the first hearing.....meanwhile, a private citizen, who has been openly critical of the Trump administration, has to lawyer up....

I'll be very surprised if the government has anything on him....(sure, Bondi will make a lot of noise but when her prosecutor has to produce in court....we'll see).
Do we even know if the FBI actually found anything to take away?

What if God isn’t sending a savior through the ballot box?

God, Family and Country makes good sense to me but God, Family and Guns is very iffy though. Guns are for killing or injuring. They don't sit well with God.
Legally defending one's life with a gun doesn't sit well with God?

And you know this, how?

Did God send the Israelites out to war unarmed?

FBI raids home of John Bolton, former Trump national security advisor

Per the NBC article, it sounds like this is the continuation of the investigation that had started back in the previous admin...

If there is any merit to the notion that perhaps Bolton was leaking things to the media, it was almost certainly for the purposes of trying to manipulate the public into being on-board for some war or another.

Bolton is one of the most notorious war hawks in our lifetime. He never met a war opportunity he didn't like.

Even if the intent behind continuing the investigation was retaliatory, I see the prospect of "Holding Bolton to account for anything wrong he's done or ways he's manipulated the public" as a net good no matter what kind of administration's doing it.

The prior investigation was dropped by the DOJ in 2022 (believe it went as far as invoking a Grand Jury). Why was it dropped? Typically, Federal prosecutors will drop a case when they don't think they can win in court. But that was the DOJ of 2022......

Is This The New Normal?

Hey are actively participating in the allowance of the breaking of federal immigration law by harboring illegals. In fact they invite them.
They were bussed there by Texas, too, or did we forget that? I think the claim was “now they’re your problem, and Boston accepted them.

Trump 1.0's National Security Advisor John Bolton's House Raided by FBI

A little clarity:

"During the first Trump administration, the Justice Department opened a criminal investigation into Mr. Bolton after publication of his 2020 book, “The Room Where It Happened.”
At first, the White House tried to block publication of the manuscript, arguing Mr. Bolton had not sought appropriate approvals. The court rejected the effort.
Separately, a federal grand jury issued subpoenas as part of a criminal investigation. While there has been little noticeable activity on the case for years, it continued into the Biden administration and has become more active in the second Trump term." --NYT

Democrat Appellate Judge overturns half billion dollar fine

Are you saying the banks never appraised anything and just loaned him the money? None of the banks said he defrauded them. They all got paid, right? James ran on "I am going to get Trump"...
Bad faith argument.

If you don't understand how Trump broke the law read the court documents. It is not rhe obligation of posters here to inform you of such basic information.

Democrat Appellate Judge overturns half billion dollar fine

1. He still did it.
2. He still broke the law

But listening to him speek you'd think he was exonerated.

But there's no inherent racism in the system. It's classist. Or maybe both but likely.

Rich white guys break the law all the time (in fact it was one of the arguments in defence of trump). Sooo often that the prosecution of Trump was characterized as targeted.

A black guy sells after market cigarettes and ends up getting killed by the police.

Illegal Immigration

Nonexistent.
I have no doubt that there are cases in which government representatives have illegally or unjustly used law enforcement resources to punish personal or political opponents. The problematic part is trying to apply that to Trump.

The reality is that running for public office - especially the presidency - puts your life and the lives of those around you under a microscope. Illegal activities that you might otherwise have gotten away with may come to light, and when they do, you might end up getting prosecuted for them or facing other personal or political consequences. This goes for both sides of the political aisle. Do you think anyone would have cared about Hunter Biden if his father hadn't run for president? John Edwards probably would still have a political career (and possibly even his marriage) without his presidential run. And so on.

Antisemitism all time high in UK

Im simply asking anyone to show me something I can gain enlightenment from, or appreciation of, in regards to anything within Palestinian culture.
No one can show you that, it's a quest you will have to make for yourself. No doubt there are elements in any culture from which you could gain enlightenment from or appreciate. But, just as a suggestion, Palestinian culture offers us an example of resilient Nationalism which has lasted for over a century. Whether you can appreciate or gain enlightenment from it is up to you.

Whitehouse liat of complaints...

Provided to the Smithsonian.

White House releases list of Smithsonian exhibits it objects to

Awwwwww. The president doesn't like what's in the world famous museum. He thinks history is meannie weenie.

We can all agree the best thing to do is change history right?

It's hard to take this guy seriously. And it so sad people can't handle their own history; refuse to acknowledge the bad things in history. Just refusing to take, not even responsibility, but just acknowledge it happens.

Their own misdeeds are so hard to hear.

Jesus & Social Justice

Depends on if you are Christian or not. Under most religions, this would be true but amongst Christians this isn't how it works.

We all deserve death because we all have sinned. Since Jesus died for those sins, we have an out, through faith.

We look at justice through the same lens. Compassion.
The exercise of which compassion had to be bought and paid for with the execution of justice, where there was no compassion to the one suffering the execution of that justice.
