  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do the Ten Commandments still apply under the new covenant today?

Thats not what the Scripture says, it was the opposite

Eze 20:13 Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

God said Remember to KEEP the Sabbat day holy, so you are saying unbelief id doing the opposite of what God said. That sound awfully similar to what happened in the graden.
All men had to die, is that not clear enough, all had unbelief.

Deuteronomy 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the Lord sware unto them.

Hebrews 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Do the Ten Commandments still apply under the new covenant today?

I showed you sabbathblessings, it is impossible for the stone commandments to exist alongside the scripture of faith, and also it is impossible to push sabbath keeping, those in the law kept sabbath and fall by unbelief..

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

60 Minutes edits Trump Interview

Trump loses cool as he's grilled on '60 Minutes' — but CBS cuts it from broadcast

The question, asked by CBS News' Norah O'Donnell, related to clemency for Binance cryptocurrency exchange founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, who pleaded guilty to money laundering violations before being let out of jail, at the same time the Trump family was expanding its business ventures into cryptocurrency and after they made a deal with C.Z. himself.

"This is a question about pardons," said O'Donnell. "The Trump family is now perhaps more associated with cryptocurrency than real estate. You and your son, your sons, Don Jr. and Eric, have formed World Liberty Financial with the Witkoff family, helping to make your family millions of dollars. It's in that context that I do want to ask you about crypto's richest man, a billionaire known as C.Z. He pled guilty in 2023 to violating anti-money laundering laws."

Key portions of this questioning, The Beast reported, did not make it into either the 28-minute TV edit or the 73-minute "extended" cut of the interview

The comments were found in a transcript on the 60 Minutes Overtimesite, the Beast reported.

I hope Harris can get a few million dollars out of this.

Why?

When I donate to a charity I don't micromanage those people. Do you?

Besides, I have it on good authority your tax dollars were used to put up several new signs in Yosemite National Park. So don't worry about this money.

Or did you believe that the 2$ a month that a taxpayer spends on the poor gives them carte blanche to control every aspect of "The Poors" diet and lifestyle?
Because unlike charity, you are literally compelled to pay taxes against your will lest someone with a gun comes knocking on your door.

The Schumer Shutdown

It's not the job of the President of the United States to provide benefits. It's the job of the Congress to vote and pass bills so the president can sign them. The Republicans in the Senate have done their job repeatedly, while the Democrats in the Senate continue to stand in the way which is why the government remains shut down.
If only the democrats in the Senate would vote for the government to be open again, benefits will once again flow to their constituents. Until then, we wait, and wait....
Congress already passed the bill.
It was signed into law.
The money is already there.
The president's job is to "execute the law"
And in this case to execute providing those congressional emergency funds to snap participants.
Why a judge has to basically force him to do his job tells you what kind person he is.
But again, unlike times before let's hope he doesn't choose to ignore this judge.

I mean holy moly.

Trump third term

Sometimes. And sometimes human voices are merely human. Hence, the challenge of discernment.

Trump's messages do not remind me of the messages from the prophets recorded in Scripture, so I am not tempted to think of him as a prophet.

You've mentioned prophets in your own church who spoke of Trump. Unfortunately, since I have not met those speakers, I cannot assess their message or their character. Thus, for the time being, I am assuming that their messages are also merely human messages. But it's possible that if I met them, I would see a spiritual character in them that would persuade me that they were speaking for God, or at least speaking out of a state of deep communion with God. Currently, they are an unknown to me.
Have I been that unclear? I have never said Trump’s messages were from God or that he was a prophet! He IMO is chosen to do a job that’s it . I never said they were in my church. Here is one prophecy from 2007 . Long before Trump decided to run. Kim Clement calls Trump by name and said he would have two terms . Believe what you will but this is factual. The 2025 Government Shutdown Thread

‘Utterly shameful’: Congress to crush US record this week for longest shutdown

There’s no chance for Congress to resolve the shutdown and reopen the government before crossing the historic threshold Tuesday.

The ongoing funding lapse will hit the 35-day mark Tuesday night, eclipsing the partial shutdown that ended in early 2019 and also occurred under President Donald Trump. ["I am proud to shut down the government for border security"]

Do the Ten Commandments still apply under the new covenant today?

Obviously fulfilling the law of Christ is not breaking any of the commandments as clearly shown in this verse. The He who said is God and the commandments that is being quoted is the Ten Commandments breaking one we because the transgressor of the law, which is sin 1John3:4 and no one is saved in their sins Heb10:26-30 we are saved from sins Mat1:21 we need a transformation in Christ oRom6:1-4
HERE SABBATHBLESSINGS, and ANONE ELSE, here are the TEN COMMANDMENTS, SET IN STONE, OR NO LONGER...

1. There is one commandment to fulfil, how do we need a law to not bear false witness, when we receive the SPIRIT OF TRUTH ?

2. If by faith we make ourselves a eunuch for the kingdom of heavens sake, how do we need a law to not commit adultery ?

3. If we believe in Jesus Christ laying HIs life down for us, and we believe in laying our lives down, and HIs kingdom not from here, why would we need a commandment to not kill. ( we receive the love of God by belief in Jesus Christ laying HIs life down for us)

4. so we need a law in stone to tell us to not steal, or by faith you give all you have.

5. Do you need a law to tell you to not idol worship, when covetousness is idolatry and you now believe to know this.

6, do we have to be told as Israel was, to not keep the commandments of men, to not do good for their mother or father, or you now have faith more than them.

7. Do you have to be told by stone commandment to keep the sabbath day holy, is not every day holy because of the Lord Jesus Christ making HIs rest eternal. ( which we labour for.)

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

2 Corinthians 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

President Trump Responds to Judge’s Ruling on SNAP Benefits

It's not humane to exploit people under the guise of asylum. The abuse of the system and abuse of the border laws that took place under the Biden administration must never be allowed to happen again.
How in the world is allowing people from Hatti going through war to seek asylum "exploiting?"
How in the world is allowing people from Venuzelua going through the chaos there to seek asylum "exploiting?
And you STILL didn't answer my question. But I don't expect you to, because obfuscation is how you roll.

To Tip or Not to Tip

I was at the Golden Corral and some old veteran was struggling to get up. The waiter would walk around but did not offer to help. There was a mother and two children seated next to him and the children offered to help the old guy on his walker. I noticed that the old gentleman gave the kids the tip. In which I thought was the just thing to do.

It is a very strange version of needing to assert "power" over others. And it sure is distasteful when it is being leveraged against the poor, downtrodden, the widow, the fatherless etc....

Hard to emulate Trump if there is nobody you are permitted to assert power over.

NOTTTTT EVER be declared righteous in HIS sight , for through the LAW is ACCURATE. KNOWLEDGE. OF SIN. !!

And the LAW was HARSH. !!

Please read Psalms 19:7-11 and explain to me why that sounds harsh to you:

“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.”

Trump opens the door for sanctions on Nigeria over persecution of Christians

Yes they say charity begins at home. But at the same time as far as world politics western leaders and through the UN or at least is suppose to be acting for the rights of all.

Its not really a Christian thing but a world politics. Which itself is corrupt and based on power and money and ideological overreach. I don;t think any world leader can be a Christian at the same time.

But based on the principles of the world being concerned for all peoples rights and western nations and the UN supposedly being the ones who are the moral leaders. Once such evil is identified its almost incumbant that they do something. Otherwise all they are is a mouthpiece that keeps pointing out these evil acts and never doing anything. Thus becoming implicit.

But really its too late for Christian action. That passed many, many decades and even centuries ago. Now the horse has bolted and its too late to shut the gate. Any action is going to make it worse. As it always has and make these evil radicals even more determined.

So I think Christians should point out these wrongs and the hypocracy and self defeating ideology its based on. Like what should happen at home. But I don't think they should protest at all. Not in the way it is being done in the political arena. Its too intertwined and will be taken as just another political ideology.
Interest in Nigeria as an oil producer heightened during the George W. Bush administration, with military policy focused on his creation of USAFRICOM and a good deal of low-level US military involvement.

USAFRICOM has been involved in Nigeria, though its involvement is mostly supportive, advisory, and intelligence-driven, rather than direct large-scale combat operations. The U.S. military’s engagement with Nigeria is generally framed around counterterrorism, regional stability, and training partnerships. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Counterterrorism Focus

  • Boko Haram insurgency (since ~2009): The U.S., via AFRICOM, has provided intelligence sharing, surveillance, and drone support to Nigerian forces to combat Boko Haram in northeastern Nigeria.
  • The U.S. has deployed special operations advisors and training teams to help Nigerian and regional forces improve counterinsurgency capabilities.

2. Training and Security Cooperation

  • AFRICOM coordinates joint exercises with the Nigerian military, such as:
    • Flintlock – a U.S.-led annual exercise in West Africa that includes Nigeria.
    • Operation Juniper Shield (regional anti-terrorism training, particularly in Sahel-adjacent areas).
  • The U.S. provides equipment, funding, and tactical advice for border security, maritime patrol, and counterinsurgency.

3. Intelligence and Surveillance

  • AFRICOM supports drone surveillance over northern Nigeria and Lake Chad regions to track Boko Haram and ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province).
  • The command shares intelligence with ECOWAS regional partners, enhancing Nigeria’s operational reach.

4. Limitations of AFRICOM’s Role

  • AFRICOM does not command Nigerian forces; all operations are in coordination with the Nigerian government.
  • Large-scale combat missions by U.S. forces inside Nigeria are extremely limited due to sovereignty concerns and political sensitivities.
  • Engagement is mostly indirect—training, advising, intelligence, and supporting regional coalition efforts.

Summary

AFRICOM’s involvement in Nigeria is strategic and supportive, focused on:

  1. Counterterrorism against Boko Haram and ISWAP,
  2. Training and strengthening Nigerian and regional forces, and
  3. Intelligence and surveillance to stabilize the region.

President Trump Responds to Judge’s Ruling on SNAP Benefits

What is the point as I read where it could take weeks or even months.
There doesn't need to be a delay, but the Republicans evidently don't care if Americans don't receive food assistance. The reason for a delay is because the states have to recode their eligibility systems with only partial funding.

SNAP could be fully funded today and without any delays if the Republicans wanted to do so. All it would take is for a standalone bill to fully fund SNAP to be brought to the floor, Republicans in Congress to vote yes, and then it moves to the Senate, where Republicans vote yes, and then on to Trump to sign it. There have already been two attempts to do this, once by a Democrat bill in Congress and a bill introduced by 15 Republicans in the Senate, but the Republican leadership refused to allow a vote on it. All 47 Democrats and 2 independents agreed to vote yes. They, along with the 15 Republicans, would have allowed SNAP to be funded before November even got here, and Americans who receive SNAP wouldn't have seen a lapse in their benefits on November 1st.

There has never been a lapse in SNAP benefits during previous shutdowns, and Republicans and the Trump administration are 100% to blame for it happening during this shutdown.
