As Trump Drains the Swamp, Which Alphabet Agencies Should Go First?

NPR supports Trump
Well at least I didn't squirt Trump beer out of my nose when I read this...

Bias Rating: LEFT-CENTER (-2.8)

Is NPR Politically Biased?

NPR has received criticism from all sides of the political spectrum regarding its bias; however, the most common critique is of a liberal bias. Here are a few examples of viewer complaints:

  • “I am writing to see why, objectively, there is a clear anti-Trump, liberal-oriented bias against President Trump? I thought that NPR is a public-based radio organization that is supposed to present itself as objective…”

If God can replace Israel, He can replace the Church, too

None of which changes the principle of Nu 12:6-8; i.e., prophecy is given in riddles (dark sayings) and not clearly, making it subject to more than one interpretation--my interpretation being different from yours--the only rule being that all interpretation must in in agreement with NT teaching, because God does not contradict himself in his word written.

There is no Biblical reason for not agreeing with the Biblical principle above.

So God "insults" himself in his holy word of Nu 12:6-8 that prophecy is given in riddles (dark sayings) and not clearly. . .
(I'm thinkin' that it's you who is insulted thereby.)

No further comment needed.
I can't believe you are doublling down on something so preposterous. God is just elevating Moses a bit due to his commitment to being very close to God's word on the matter of the Law. He is *not,* as you suppose, speaking negatively towards the Prophets and the way He has chosen to speak to them through "riddles" and "dark sayings," which I think you are mischaracterizing as subject to individual impression.

Is Paul degrading his words when he says that he "sees thru a glass darkly?"...

1 Cor 13.9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Is Jesus, who gave the Revelation to the Apostle John, degrading the way John relayed his visions in the language of "riddles and dark sayings," or parables, apocalyptic language, and the kind?
You are completely mischaracterizing prophetic language that *God chose to use* when you say it is "subject to several interpretations."

God's word is always subject to being interpreted by bad actors in a misleading way, which is what I think you're doing right now. And that's why I'm not letting it go as you seem to be begging me to do now.

Here it is again....

Numb 12.5 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, 6 he said, “Listen to my words:
When there is a prophet among you,

I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,
I speak to them in dreams.
7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;
he is faithful in all my house.
8 With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the Lord.

The fact God is elevating Moses in no way is intended to suggest the way He speaks to the Prophets is untrustworthy and "subject to interpretation." It is just harder to understand, not at all indicating that those who are confused can then misinterpret the prophecy any way they see fit!

We are living in the Trump era’: White House Report Card

Some do, some don’t. That you will have to research for yourself.

I agree.

Many companies have absorbed the costs or imported products before the tariff, so prices haven't risen much yet. Price changes likely won't appear for several more months.

Some companies may continue to absorb the increased tariff costs, but large retailers such as Walmart or Amazon are unlikely to sustain the absorption of a 15% cost increase on products for an extended period. They will eventually pass that to consumer.

If American consumers, who are also voters, are willing to pay higher prices to increase U.S. revenue for the Treasury, this could be considered positive news for the country. Historically, conservatives have opposed such forms of taxation, while Democrats and liberals have supported them; however, it is possible that perspectives are shifting, and some conservative Americans may now also support paying higher prices for products in order to boost government revenue.

Speaking of Hurricanes, take a look at this:

Historical Hurricane Tracks
Here's a graph of minor and major hurricanes for the US:
1754321687563.png

As you probably know, climatologists did not predict more hurricanes, but they did predict that we'd see more major hurricanes and those with increasing strength. Which is what the data show.

Why hurricanes and pecans? Because of that natural range map. Compare that to the recorded hurricane tracks. Since pecans do well across the Southeast,
I grew up in Iowa. We had pecan trees. There are people who grow them there for a living. However, actual recordings of increased hurricane strength nicely matches the increase in Atlantic and Gulf temperatures. And of course, hurricane strength is a function of the water temperature.

For those who have left the Roman Catholic Church

Pardon my intrusion. But I am tired of the political threads. This one seems more spiritual.

I am still in it but I appreciate your point. I was baptized at a month old and went to Catholic elementary school. But I had a spiritual awakening at about 22. Now there are some Catholics that I feel right at home with in a more open form of spirituality.. But others not so much. For them it seems to be all formula. But this thread reminded me of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal which I have not heard much about since the 80's.

Now here is something funny, although I am not ordained I make my living as a hospital chaplain. When I pray with patients it is extemporaneous and I am welcomed more by non Catholics. We seem to connect at a level beyond denominations. Glory to God for that!

On the topic of intimacy with Jesus, I think it is an ongoing relationship building just as with anyone else. Daily Gospel reading helps. Talking about Him with others also. But the main reason I stay is the Eucharist. That sacrament seems to pull it all together for me, a physical reminder that He enters and dwells within me.

But gain, that one on one experience is our goal. We do not always "feel" it.
I hear you about being tired of the political threads. In my own case my siblings and I were raised, baptized and confirmed strong confessional Lutheran. In my teens and 20's I fell away and lived a very secular lifestyle(this was in the '70's). I attended Calvary Chapel southern California with a friend who had been New Age and was now a strong Christian. Went to a Saturday night service and went forward at the altar and re-dedicated my life to Jesus Christ. I was in my early '30's at the time. I've been following Christ ever since, quit the party lifestyle, got married and had kids and now grandkids. I have also returned to my confessional Lutheran roots(and our children were raised in that) due to my study of ancient Christian history and Church Fathers and belief in the Real presence and regenerational baptism. However I don't regret my days in Calvary Chapel. They have a love and heart for Jesus. Also they have a strong emphasis on Christian living as a young adult which seemed to be lacking in mainline denominations.
I'm really torn. As a matter of fact I was going to start a thread on the difference between Catholic/Protestant/Orthodox and the strengths/weakness of each branch of Christianity but I decided not to because I was afraid it would devolve in to causing offense.
Nevertheless, I have been attracted to Orthodoxy/Roman Catholicism due to their reverence for the Eucharist which I believe is right(I think we are too dismissive even in the Lutheran Church) and Apostolic Succession, but I love the simple and strong Gospel and preaching of the Protestant churches, and I feel Christian children's education (which I was involved in in the WELS) is so strong in the confessional Lutheran churches.

Marriage Advice Help

Hi Everyone,

I’m coming here because I need some advice. My marriage is in a tough place right now, and I’m scared it’s heading toward divorce. My wife and I have been seeing a counselor (not a Christian counselor), but we’re still so divided on many things.

One of the biggest issues is about having children. When we got married, we both wanted kids, but recently my wife told me she’s not sure she wants them anymore. That was painful for me to hear, but I’m trying to be understanding and compromise.

Another problem is communication. My wife often says that I don’t ask her about her feelings or open up enough. I was raised in a home where we didn’t talk about feelings, while her family has always been very open and emotional. I try hard to communicate better, but it feels like no matter what I do, it’s never enough.

I’ve recently started doing weekly check-ins with my wife where I ask her about how she’s feeling, how things are going with intimacy, and what I can do better. This has helped her feel more heard because I know I’ve struggled with communicating well, especially since I’ve also dealt with a porn addiction for most of my life.

Right now, I’m using Covenant Eyes and really trying to live in the light and stay accountable. But I haven’t been perfect. I messed up recently when Facebook reels showed me some explicit content, and I intentionally watched it, and she found it in my history. She felt completely betrayed, and I understand why. I’ve since deleted Facebook from my phone because that’s always been a weak spot for me. Facebook on my browser has accountability software, so I can browse safely. I made sure to tell her that I know I messed up and that I want to keep healing and fighting for purity.

But when we argue, she brings up all my past mistakes, the porn, my struggles with communication, or that I want someone who’s more intimate but less emotional. It really hurts because it feels like no matter how hard I try now, I’m still just the sum of my past failures in her eyes. I feel like the work I’m doing now doesn’t even get seen sometimes.

I want so badly for things to get better, and I’m trying to take real steps. I just wish she could see that I’m not the same person I was back then.

Recently, we got into a huge argument about politics. She said I don’t care as much as she does, and she wants a partner who shares her level of interest. I tried to explain that while I know it’s important, I just don’t feel as strongly as she does, and I wish that could be respected. But she this as not caring about what matters to her.

Finances are also a point of stress. We have a budget, and I try to explain where we are financially, but sometimes these conversations turn tense. She’s very unhappy in her job and vents about it daily, which adds more strain, and I feel the constant need to try and help her be happy.

Intimacy is another struggle. She’s unhappy with her appearance, so when I don’t initiate sex (and I'm scared too because of her unhappiness), she feels like it confirms her fears of being unattractive.

Another big source of pain for me is faith. In all this I have not been perfect either. I get angry easily because of all these things I feel like I'm juggling, I’ve said hurtful things and cursed when I shouldn’t have. I know that’s not how God wants me to behave, and I pray daily that He changes me.

I’ve asked my wife if we can talk to a pastor for help, but she doesn’t want the church involved. I feel so stuck because when I do try to communicate, it often feels like the blame is turned back on me. She says I should talk more about my feelings, but it’s exhausting for me because I’m already carrying so much at home, I do most of the cooking, cleaning, and caring for our dogs.

Lately, she brings up divorce a lot. She says she feels bad for me, like maybe I’d be happier without her. But I don’t want to give up. I’m scared, and I feel like I can’t talk to my church leadership because she doesn’t want them involved.

I feel alone and I really don’t know what to do to save this marriage. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Another look at the moon landing.

Sorry but Yes.
So you doubt that God has control over his creation and is powerful enough to do a miracle? Oh dear.

I'd forget about conspiracy theories and read the Bible, if I were you.
(Not that I'd ever be you because conspiracy theories are ridiculous and just theories.)

Another look at the moon landing.

Why have we never been back to th moon ?

A few comments I have read on line.

Randy Senna
· 6y

Can't do it now and couldn't do it then.
Wrong.
Anyone who dares investigation will flat out come to the conclusion we absolutely did not send men to the moon.
The US sent several of them actually - and some of them walked on it.
I would challenge you to even watch the astronauts press conference upon return.
Which time?

Everything in me tells me that it was a hoax… it's just unimaginable that man had that technology and resource to send a manned spaceship from earth to moon and back.
So he didn't watch it on tv and doesn't know his history.
Oh yes……its a hoax!!! No man has been on the moon.
Several have, and 12 of them have walked on it.
4 of those 12 are still alive and some of them are Christians - simple as that.
Then come back and tell me we sent a tin can named Apollo to the Moon and back.
Tin can? No. Well designed rocket, yes, several of them.
Some of them had problems or caught fire after take off - I guess it was also a hoax that men lost their lives and children were left without fathers?

How is it relevant to consider ourselves, believers, as regards any degree of kingship with Jesus, when praying?

It's like being the little brother of the almighty King of Kings.
Thank you, ozso. Actually, i have the feeling like Jesus introduces us into a filiation of God, but does it mean he valids us as brothers. They have first to do the will of the Father, haven't they ?

Watch: CNN Cuts Tulsi Gabbard Off as She Lays Out the Inconvenient Facts of the Russia Hoax

Why are you denying reality? The media not only reported what others said, they fueled the narrative by offering their own opinions and speculation.

Of course you don't, because while you can see the propaganda coming from Fox, you seem completely blinded to the propaganda that spews from other media sources.

At what? Democrats ranting about a STOLEN!!! election? Democrats calling Trump an "illegitimate president?" Both of those things would indicate that something shady happened with votes in the election. That's why they said it again, and again, and again, and again until more than 2/3 of Democrats believed that Russia had tampered with vote counts.

So what's your alternative explanation? What do you think they meant when they said the election was STOLEN!!! and that Trump was an "illegitimate president?" Have you even watched the compilation video I posted? You should. Then you might understand just how much Democrats and the media were gaslighting the public.

Here it is again, for your reference:

Yes, Democrats saying the election was stolen, not the news media making that absolute claim. View your video with a little more focus. I say FOX is in a league of it's own given the Dominion lawsuit where we see not only did their news personalities have Trump on speed dial, advising him, but that outlet is now the conduit for how he fills his cabinet. There is now 23 of them. Let me know of news personalities were literally on the campaign trail with a candidate other than FOX. I can't think of any. So yes your equivalency claim in fact, to use your word is"blind". Moreover, I don't have to have an alternative explanation. It's your claim, and it's fact deficient.

Another look at the moon landing.

Are you suggesting that God, the Creator and Sustainer of ALL of His creation, could not stop the earth from rotating and stop everybody from being launched off the earth at the same time?

Sorry but Yes.

So yet another deflection instead of answering the questions put to you.

And what were they again ?

a “dagger through the heart of climate-change religion”

How confident are you in that data and why?
I told you why.
Notice that several independent agencies came up with data that very closely agree.

In science, that's very strong confirmation.

I'm confident in what I posted because I know the location of the station and note the data for each day in two databases: Microsoft Access for work and LibreOffice Base for myself. And it's not following what we are told is happening.
Data has to be accurate. And it has to actually measure what you propose to measure. Your graph doesn't measure average world temperature. It appears to be a graph of the number of over-100 degree days in the United States. But it's not identified.

It's like you noticing that your house is getting warmer and warmer, but someone says that the back bedroom has more moments when it's much cooler.

So that's two data sets that disagreeing with what we're told.
Like your back bedroom disagreeing with the observation that the house as a whole is getting warmer. HVAC guys can tell you that there are a number of reasons for this. I had one room like that myself. It's important to make sure that your measurements are accurate and that they measure that which you want to measure. BTW, here's the graph of average temperature in the United States, using presumably the same stations you're mentioning:
1754320647594.png

What area, exactly, does your graph represent?

It's been a relatively cool summer here in the Seattle area.
I have two sons living there. Both say it's been unusually hot last month.

Something's not lining up.
Yeah. First, your graph doesn't measure average temperature. And second, it appears to be for a local area. Can you show us the source, so we can check that out?

You can, of course, dismiss the data I've cited as not global mean
Not measuring the thing you propose to measure will produce errors, yes.

But then there's the problem of explaining why it's not following what we are told is a global trend, especially since we're dealing with more than one site.
Let's look at your measurements for the United States:

  • The frequency of extremely hot days has increased since 1970 in 195 U.S. locations analyzed by Climate Central.
  • About 71% (139) of these locations now experience at least 7 additional extremely hot days each year than in 1970.

Which is very significant.

So who's off?
We'll know that when we see the source and verify what area is measured. Even by your criteria, the U.S. is hotter than it was in the past.

For those who have left the Roman Catholic Church

You write that holy scripture is the only source of doctrine and I say that is manifestly not true. The holy scriptures are useful for doctrine according to saint Paul who wrote - All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching - this no one denies, but it is far from saying that holy scripture is the only source of doctrine.
And that is were we differ

Another look at the moon landing.

I'm not alarmed, I just don't believe it did, it would be like the film ' The day the earth stood still' ^_^
It doesn't matter what you believe - Joshua prayed, they had 24 hours of daylight and they were able to defeat their enemies.
Whether, 3,000 + years ago, it was literally the sun which stopped or the earth, the effect was the same.

The point is that a) a miracle happened and b) you are condemning science, astronomy and everything else because of your literal interpretation of one verse.

We are living in the Trump era’: White House Report Card

You tell me tariffs have been in place since April yet cross the board prices have risen between 1.7 and 2.3%.
That was pretty much an across the board 10% wasn't it? The 90 deals in 90 days was just more Trump nonsense. The change date was a couple of days ago and that got slid again pending if you have a dictator on trial for trying to steal an election or not. Here's the thing. Large companies can eat some or all of that tax hike, but that's not going to last forever. (Some companies held off on price hikes as Trump delayed tariffs. That ends soon) Small and mid size companies can not. We already seen some of those fold up shop.

Hamas knows exactly what it is doing. Starvation is a bargaining chip; the emaciated hostage is a living press release.

That ship has already sailed. You have an entire population that has been traumatized, including children who see little in the way of hope. Any Israeli presence in Gaza will be a target for terrorists for many years to come. The only solution for peace at this point is a ceasefire in Gaza, the removal of all Israeli forces and settlements in the Palestinian territories, and the establishment of a Palestinian state. This would also have to include a plan for rebuilding Gaza. Since this is an unlikely outcome, we can unfortunately expect the cycle of violence to continue.

People with nothing left to lose will do things for reasons other than money. There will be no shortage of recruits willing to join Hamas, even if Hamas can no longer pay members for joining their ranks. Israel has also provided Hamas with thousands of tons of unexploded ordnance that they are and will continue to use to make IEDs and other weapons of mass destruction to use against Israeli forces and perhaps even Israeli citizens at some point in the future. Hamas is also not the only terrorist group operating in the Palestinian territories. There will likely even be some new groups that will be formed in the future as a result of this conflict as well as individuals that will act alone in carrying out terrorist attacks against Israel and its allies. It's a bleak outlook, but terrorism always thrives where there is conflict and often reaches places that are far removed from it.

You're welcome, and yes, there is much more to the article than what I shared.
I’m going to disagree with you. Forming the police state is the logical next step after ceasing fire. The IDF is not just going to pack up and leave. How the police state will be formed remains to be seen.
