Trump shows world leaders "Trump 2028" merch at White House 'gift shop'

Obviously you don't listen to CNN. They have an objectively dismal and appalling view of Trump. And his sycophants.
No sense chatting with someone who laughs at violating the Constitution.
Do you listen to CNN?

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

Among those with genuine PhDs in relevant fields, the number who reject common descent is really, really tiny. Vanishingly small.
I beg to differ. I am finding more scientific people each day questioning evolution or Darwinism.

I agree these people are Creationists or Intelligent Design followers but they are starting to realize Darwinism isn't all that it is cracked up to be.

I believe that ALL who ever lived will be in God’s Kingdom

well we know our will is not separate from Gods will, but none the less Adam chose to eat of it and so iniquity was found in him, as in his nakedness was revealed to him with the help of the women who God removed from him for this very purpose, seeing he was naked before the serpent entered into the garden by way of the law in the form of a commandment spoken ... to say we choose a serpent/devil is to say we create our own image of self and therefor God\truth, and so this image by way of a tree bearing two fruits becomes our curse ... cursed is any man hung on a tree or reasons between two sons ...
The law of our mother/mind (like the scriptures) can not be broken ... without the losing of our soul, which has been the door to the truth of self from the beginning ...

Businesses are raising prices after tariffs — even on unaffected goods

AN OPEN QUESTION
is how Trump will deal with national debt and deficits. Also, each state must confront increased costs that have been shifted from the federal government to them. The richer states will cope. The poorer ones will be much more challenged. For example, hospitals and clinics will likely not close in states on the coasts, but morely likely in more rural states.
We seen this movie before.
The Big Beautiful Bill is a larger version of "What's the matter with Kansas" Sam Brownback style.
And yes, some rural hospitals already struggling are indeed closing.

Hegseth Boosts Video of Pastors Saying Women Shouldn't Vote, Advocating Repeal of 19th Amendment

Uh huh...and since the 1970's how many women have been in a position of power to make the change an didnt follow through?
Maybe if we voted more women into Congress, they'd reach the majority they would need.

Trump Orders Federal Law Enforcement to Patrol D.C.: ‘Plagued by Violent Crime for Far Too Long’

...in his own words yesterday: (it seems D.C. has replaced Chicago....as the MAGA punching bag)
You'll say, oh, so terrible. No, we're getting rid of the slums where they live. Caravans of masked youth rampage through city streets at all times of the day. They're on ATVs, motorbikes. They travel pretty well. Entire neighborhoods are now under emergency curfews. Just this past weekend, gunfire through -- went through, and you saw that, the Navy yard.
I saw it this morning. I saw that they fought back against -- I see they fight back until you knock the h*** out of them, because it's the only language they understand. But they fought back against law enforcement last night and they're not going to be fighting back long because I've instructed them and told them whatever happens -- you know, they love to spit in the face of the police as the police are standing up there in uniform.

They're standing and they're screaming at them, an inch away from their face, and then they start spitting in their face. And I said, you tell them, you spit and we hit, and they can hit real hard. It's a disgusting thing. I've watched that for years, for three or four years, I've watched them, the police are stand -- and they're told, don't do anything under any circumstances.

And you can see they want to get at it and they're standing there and the people are spitting in their face and they're not allowed to do anything. But now they are allowed to do whatever the hell they want. This dire public safety crisis stems directly from the abject failures of the city'OK local leadership.

The radical left City Council adopted no cash bail. By the way, every place in the country where you have no cash bail is a disaster. That's what started the problem in New York, and they don't change it. They don't want to change it. That's what started it in Chicago. I mean, bad politicians started it, bad leadership started it. But that was the one thing that's central, no cash bail.

And you're OK with citizenry disrespect of law enforcement?

Trump Orders Federal Law Enforcement to Patrol D.C.: ‘Plagued by Violent Crime for Far Too Long’

...more red meat for MAGA:

“The laws are weak,” said Jeanine Pirro, the former Fox News host now serving as Trump’s U.S. attorney for D.C. “I can’t touch you if you’re 14, 15, 16, 17 years old, and you have a gun.”

Pirro is among many right-wing influencers who back up the president’s assertion that D.C. is a city under almost-constant threat. The amplification has been especially acute over the last seven days, since Trump posted on his Truth Social account about a member of his administration who was “left dripping with blood” after he was attacked by a group of youths near Dupont Circle. In that time period, discussion of crime in D.C. spiked nearly 300 percent among such influencers compared to the prior week, according to a Washington Post analysis of posts and podcasts from over 200 accounts. Trump himself has fanned interest in the topic with additional posts to Truth Social and X as well as in fundraising emails.

Non-Trinitarianism

Not worrying about the Trinity is not the same as denying the Trinity. For about 300 years, it wasn't an issue. It is hard enough to follow Christ in the real world, and the Trinity does not change the actions we must take. It does not rob Christ of His glory.
Of those with saving faith, who "worries" about
the Trinity, or
justification, or
imputation, or
passive and active obedience of Christ, etc.?

What Does Acts 1:4 Mean by Saying that Jesus was Eating Salt with Them?

Interesting. I never noticed hals.

Roberson's Word Pictures of the New Testament has:
Being assembled together with them (sunalizomenos). Present passive participle from sunalizō, an old verb in Herodotus, Xenophon, etc., from sun, with, and halizō, from halēs, crowded. The margin of both the Authorized and the Revised Versions has “eating with them” as if from sun and hals (salt). Salt was the mark of hospitality. There is the verb halisthēte en autōi used by Ignatius Ad Magnes. X, “Be ye salted in him.” But it is more than doubtful if that is the idea here though the Vulgate does have convescens illis “eating with them,” as if that was the common habit of Jesus during the forty days (Wendt, Feine, etc.). Jesus did on occasion eat with the disciples (Luk_24:41-43; Mar_16:14).

Vincents:
Being assembled together (συναλιζόμενος)
From σύν, together, and ἁλής, thronged or crowded. Both the A. V. and Rev. give eating together in margin, following the derivation from σύν, together, and ἅλς, salt: eating salt together, and hence generally of association at table.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

Pehaps this explains it simply enough for you to understand:

A scientific hypothesis is a proposed explanation for an observable phenomenon. In other words, a hypothesis is an educated guess about the relationship between multiple variables....A scientific theory is an explanation for a natural phenomenon that is widely accepted among the scientific community and supported by data. Scientific theories are confirmed by many tests and experiments...

Read the link; it seems about as simple as one can make it and still be accurate.
So based upon the masterclass article you gave me it should be the Hypothesis of Evolution not the Theory of Evolution. Because with the little information science has from our past (remember only 50 pieces of a 100,000 piece puzzle), they are just making educated guesses (yes, they may have some facts but nearly enough to form a Theory :)).

I still think it's word salad and scientist should understand that (if they are smart as they claim) when explaining their works. They should say "hey this is very very cool and informative stuff, I want everyone to understand it". But I must say, you link to the Masterclass was very helpful, thank you for the refresher course :). Now if doing searches on the internet were that fulfilling.

Inflation is down, but that's the rate at which prices are increasing. Prices are still going up (on average). To go down, the inflation rate would have to be negative.
Please show us that inflation is down. I think that inflation rates are up from 2024 and from what we have been used to since the recession except for the year after the oandemic.

The Fed had a goal of 2% for a couple of decades. They are now concerned as inflation has passed 3% and will likely hit 4% next year. That isn't terrible. However, it will need to focus on developing a new target that is best for the US. Trump's new system may work, but because of the national sales tax on imports, the overall inflation target will likely move to 3% or so. Companies and households can learn to adapt to that rate or even 4%.

AI is the shiny new toy — why the alarm?

Um...The Gregorian Calendar drops three leap days per 400 years, so the Julian calendar advanced three days every 400 years in regards to the Gregorian. The drop in the days when the Gregorian Calendar was adopted seems to correspond to the the Julian calendar at the time of the First Council of Nicaea, maybe to preserve when Easter occurs in respect to the seasons. Anyway, the difference in days between Gregorian and Julian is Days = Whole Portion of (current year / 100) - Whole Portion of (current year / 400) - 2. So for 2025, 20 - 5 - 2 = 13, so the Julian date should be Gregorian Date + 13. Today's August 12, 2025 Gregorian, so adding 13 days to it should give August 25, 2025 Julian Calendar.

This turns out to be on Wikipedia, with something confusing about leap day, but I think that has more to do with going from Julian to Gregorian. Haven't tinkered with the numbers though.

The neat thing is that this 13 day difference between calendars should remain through this century. The year 2100 will be a leap year on the Julian Calendar but not the Gregorian, so before February 29, 2100 on the Julian calendar the difference will be 13 days, but starting on that day the difference will be 14 days, and remain that through the century.

Maybe that was what the Wikipedia article was talking about.
Sorry. Reverse that. A quick check proved it's the other way around. Eastern Orthodox Christmas, December 25, 2025 Julian calendar, is January 7, 2026 on the Gregorian calendar. So August 12, 2025 Gregorian calendar is July 31, 2025, Julian calendar. The difference is still 13 days.

To recap, to go from Gregorian to Julian for the rest of this century, subtract 13 days. To go from Julian calendar to Gregorian, add 13 days.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

It's funny, there are people with PhDs and they don't align with the evolution theory.
Among those with genuine PhDs in relevant fields, the number who reject common descent is really, really tiny. Vanishingly small.
Just because I'm very rusty on my "theory" and "hypothesis" definition does mean I can't present an argument against evolution.
Go for it. I've been looking at creationist arguments for several decades and have yet to see a good one, but anything is possible.

Non-Trinitarianism

Those who deny the Trinity have to scale down the gospel--and they do.
Those who deny the Trinity deny the majesty of God, for they have him
begetting inferior beings (human Jesus) that are not divine,
redeeming by proxy instead of himself, not involving his person in the redemption (by the Son) and sanctification (by the Spirit) of men,
paying no personal price and,
thereby, they rob him of his glory (Ex 14:4).

They have to make God too small--and they do.
They take out the very heart, core and meaning of the Christian faith in God.
Not worrying about the Trinity is not the same as denying the Trinity. For about 300 years, it wasn't an issue. It is hard enough to follow Christ in the real world, and the Trinity does not change the actions we must take. It does not rob Christ of His glory.
