  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

Please keep that in mind, the next time you see me called a YEC, OEC, Last Thursdayist, Omphalist, or anything else but what I claim to be.

Thanks.

(And I find it interesting that our premier "you're a YEC, whether you know it or not" poster here gave that a WINNER emoticon.)

But you ARE a YEC though. No matter how you dress it it with 'embedded age', you still claim that the Earth was created 6000 years ago. That IS Young Earth Creationism. Show humility and accept it.

French President Macron says France will recognize Palestine as a state (UK, Canada, Straya too)

Being a Christian doesn't necessarily make one on the "right" side. There have been many misinformed or otherwise incorrect people that are Christians. I am often one of them, depending on the subject, we all are.
That’s correct, thank you.

Why are the church as a whole silent about spiritual warfare?

Why are the church as a whole silent about spiritual warfare and the reality of the demonic and the attacks, and either do not want to hear about it, do not want anything to do with it, do not believe in it etc? When it is clearly happening and have happened ever since the time of Jesus and beyond and half of the bible is about it? And the command how we should do it? And talking about the attacks of the enemy? And the armour of God? how can there be armour of God to put on if we are not in spiritual battles?

OSAS - I was wrong...again

You need to take the fullness of scripture.

God does not "blot out everyone who sins" in an instant. Instead, the blotting out of sins is a key part of the final, heavenly judgment and is conditional on a person's repentance and faith in Christ.
Ok, good. Wait a second while I look for the Scriptures that say our sins are blotted out. OK, here they are...
  • Neh 4:5 - Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders.
  • Ps 51:1 - Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
  • Ps 51:9 - Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.
  • Ps 109:14 - Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
  • Isa 43:25 - “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.
  • Isa 44:22 - I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, And like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
  • Jer 18:23 - Yet, Lord, You know all their counsel Which is against me, to slay me. Provide no atonement for their iniquity, Nor blot out their sin from Your sight; But let them be overthrown before You. Deal thus with them In the time of Your anger.
  • Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
So, it seems you are right. The only way for a person to avoid being blotted out of the book of life is for his sins/transgressions/iniquities to be blotted out before the blotting out of names begins. I don't think any of this supports your argument against the idea that all a person's sins (past, present, and future) are forgiven (blotted out) at the moment he puts his trust in Christ.

Edit: Oops, I left out some words that changed my intended meaning. Fixed now!!!

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

I'll give you the benefit of this post, that you're not calling me "insincere."

I feel I have a right to express any disdain I have toward science, without science's comrades attacking the messenger, instead of the points he makes.

Even if my disdain comes from a lack of education in the scientific field, that's no excuse to shoot the messenger.

It seems to me someone was recently silenced for what he believes in, whether the silencer believed he was speaking right or wrong.

I am 100% calling you insincere, plain and simple.

And no way is your persecution complex that strong....

BUSTED - 12 False theories refuted:

But every Christian is an Overcomer for God; literally an Israelite.
That doesn't mean we can assume that it will be Christians who will build a third temple .
Jews are not likely to let Christians build, what they see as God's house. Christianity started as a Jewish sect.
Also, do you know your ancestry?
As far back as the 1600s, yes.
Genetic maths show that everyone alive today, must have some of Abrahams genes
I am pretty sure that any genes that Abraham passed on will be so minute as to be almost invisible - that's if they exist at all.
and as a Christian you are Abrahams descendant by faith. Galatians 3:26-29
That is still a long way from saying that there will be a third temples which will be built by Christians.
Ezekiel Chapters 37 to 39 give detailed prophecies of Gods peoples restoration into all of the Holy Land.
But Jesus didn't say any of this.
He talked of his return and told parables about the need to be ready. At no point did he say that Jewish, and Gentile, Christians would one day head to the Holy Land to build another temple and offer animal sacrifices.
The only thing Jesus said about the temple was that it would be destroyed one day - and it was.
Immediately the Christian will OBJECT. Is not the Church the House of God? And does God live in a House made with hands?
No, he doesn't - he lives IN his people, and has done since Pentecost.

This He finally achieves in the Church. But ... in the process of recovering man, God did TWO things;
He dwelt WITH them to have His presence on earth, and for this a House of a special construction was needed'
Why?
The Word became flesh and was tabernacled among us. The only "house" that God had was the body of Jesus - Jesus didn't own a house.
During His first sojourn on earth, this God-Man Jesus had nowhere to dwell (Matt.8:20; Lk.9:28). His rightful place as God would have been the Temple in Jerusalem,
He didn't come to earth to dwell in a palace or man made temple.
He was king - the cross was his throne and his glory.
but He is driven from there under threat of death by the rulers of Israel.
If Jesus had come to earth to live in the temple he would have lived there. No threat would have been able to stop him from fulfilling God's will
But at the end of the age, this God-Man will become the ordained, accepted and anointed King of the whole earth by military defeat of His enemies. The question is then, "WHERE WILL HE LIVE PHYSICALLY, AND OF WHAT TYPE WILL HIS HOUSE BE?
Will he live anywhere?
The throne of God is in heaven.
Ezekiel answers this. The House in which Emmanuel (God with us) will live must fulfill a number of qualifications.
Why?
It must be in Jerusalem
It must be a Palace fit for the greatest King ever to live
It must be a House that reflects the accomplishments of this great King
It must be a House that allows the correct service to such an Holy One
It must be a House that everyone of every nation can come up to pray, worship and have audience with Emmanuel
Why?
So when God sends His Son the second time as military Commander to retake Government of this earth, in His righteousness and justice HE MUST VINDICATE HIS SON IN PROPORTION TO WHAT HE LOST THE FIRST TIME.
Jesus didn't lose anything the first time - you, yourself have said that he set it aside.
And Jesus was thoroughly vindicated by God by the resurrection, Romans 1:4.
Before his ascension he said that ALL authority had been given to him
The House that Jesus will live in must reflect Who He is and what He has done Isaiah 2:1-5, Zechariah 14:16-21
It is a humbling thing but Jesus lives in us.
WE are his witnesses to who he is and what he has done - light to the world, salt of the earth, bearing fruit only by remaining in the Vine.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

The "Creationists" (then "Creation Scientists") create these elaborate science-like narratives to jam between the lines of Genesis so that modern geology, biology, and even astronomy can jammed into the text as if it were real. Creating this extra-biblical version of "creation" that is pushed as the proper religious form by people like Ken Ham. It creates nonsense like post-flood hyperevolution, continental rearrangement during the flood, and dinosaurs on the ark. Not a single one of those things is actual in the Bible.

Where AV comes in is that he has his own *personal* version of this that doesn't match any of the organizations, denominations, or the text itself.

Or the biggest one: embedded age.
