Being a Godly Example

Paul, along with Silvanus (Silas) and Timothy, wrote this letter to the believers in Jesus Christ in Thessalonica. And as we read this first chapter together, I would like for us to imagine the letter is being written to us, and for us to consider how much of this might be applied to our lives today.

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10 ESV

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”

Now, all this is not going to apply to us specifically, but I see maybe four or five main points here which describe the kind of character we should have as followers of Jesus Christ. So, as we read this we should ask the Lord to show us what applies to our lives and where we need to change.

Labor of Love

We, as followers of Jesus Christ, should be those of strong faith in our Lord, who have died with him to sin and who are living to him and to his righteousness, in daily practice. And we should be doing the works of God which he prepared in advance that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). We should be laboring for the Lord, doing the work he has called us to do, and doing so in steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus. For we should see that we now belong to Christ and that he is the one directing our lives.

Chosen by God

I love what this says here, how the apostles recognized that these Christians were chosen by God, because they didn’t just accept the gospel in word only, but they were those who were putting the faith of the gospel into practice in their daily lives. They were living what they said they believed, and they were not just mouthing words of faith in the Lord. But this was not a casual thing for them, but they were passionately operating in the power of God and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction of truth.

Imitators of Christ

Now, this kind of imitating is not the mocking kind or the kind that is just pretending to be someone else. This means we are literally modeling our lives after Jesus Christ and his life which he lived when he was on the earth. It means we are becoming like him in character via the Lord conforming us to his likeness, as we cooperate fully with God’s work of grace in our lives. And if there are truly godly people in your life, you can follow their example, but be careful, for not many people are surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Sharing the Gospel

These believers in Jesus Christ received the word of God in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Now, if you are serious about your walk with the Lord Jesus, and if you are living holy lives, dedicated to the Lord and to his service, and if you are sharing the truth of the gospel, and if you are exposing the lies, you are going to be afflicted, for you are going to be hated, rejected, and persecuted. But we are to accept that as part of what it means to follow Jesus, and to do so with joy.

And because of their walks of faith, and their willingness to suffer for the sake of the gospel, these people became an example to other believers in Jesus Christ, so they literally modeled what the Christian life should look like. For, not only were they sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, but they were living the gospel. Their lives were surrendered to Christ, they were dying daily to sin and to self, and they were following the Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands (New Covenant).

Turn from Idols to Serve God

And here they modeled the message of the gospel of Christ by how they lived their lives. For they turned away from sin and from idols to serve the living and true God, to do what he commands, and to follow our Lord Jesus wherever he led them, and to say whatever he told them to say. They were not those who were giving lip service only to the Lord, but they were walking the talk. They were living and they were modeling for others what they professed with their lips. All glory and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Cause and Effect?

Something interesting- it makes sense to say that God created time, He is outside time, He is not bound by it! However did God also create cause and effect? I am leaning toward yes as God created all things and is not bound by anything, nothing at all! If God created cause and effect He is not bound by it, God is outside of cause and effect! It is pretty wild to think about this!

The audit noted a litany of problems that occurred through lax oversight. There was no evidence that FBI fingerprint checks were conducted for 174 out of 229 EIS employees and that while such checks were conducted for 25 employees they failed to conduct such a procedure in a timely manner. Only for 30 employees did such checks occur in a timely manner. Background checks for child abuse and neglect were only conducted in a timely fashion for 9 EIS employees out of 229. For the rest, the vast majority did not have any such check documented. It further noted that the ORR waived its own Child Abuse and Neglect check requirement for 51 employees out of 200.
The whole process is sick and twisted. I can't express my disgust when Mayorkas claimed ignorance on the bracelets, or that the Biden administration lost track of 85,000 children.

We often hear that the Catholic Church has forbidden the reading of the Bible! Have you heard this? Yeah, me too! But, this is another one of those big myths which has worked its way into the popular dialog but one that has not been proved from Church teaching and documents.

The second is a list of Catholic Bibles from ancient times that prove the charge against the Catholic Church false, since the Forewords and Prefaces prove that the Catholic Church PROMOTED the reading of Scripture.

Pope Francis Says Traditional Latin Mass Was Being Used in an Ideological Way

The Pope spoke about the Latin Mass in a private conversation with Jesuits on the second day of his April 28–30 trip to Budapest, Hungary.

Pope Francis said he implemented one of the changes of Traditionis custodes, the 2021 motu proprio restricting the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass, because the allowances granted by his predecessors were “being used in an ideological way.”

The Pope spoke about the Latin Mass in a private conversation with Jesuits on the second day of his April 28–30 trip to Budapest, Hungary. The text of the April 29 meeting with Jesuits was published by the Jesuit journal La Civiltà Cattolica on May 9.

During the question and answer session, Pope Francis said he was concerned about a “reaction against the modern,” or what he calls in Italian “indietrismo,” which translates in English to “backwardness.”

“It is a nostalgic disease,” he said, explaining that this is the reason why he made it necessary for priests ordained after July 16, 2021, to seek authorization from their bishop and the Holy See to offer Mass according to the 1962, pre-Vatican II liturgical books, what is commonly referred to as the Latin Mass.

In Theory, Not in Practice

Matthew 18:15-17 ESV

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”

Have you ever tried to do this? If so, how did it go? In my experience, it didn’t go so well. Sometimes it did, but most times it didn’t. For this is not something that is generally practiced today within the gatherings of the church (or what is falsely being called “church”). For one, from what I have observed, most people will not confront others who have sinned against them, at least not in a kind and loving manner and with the end goal of reconciliation.

What I have often found to be the case is that they would rather cut those people who have sinned against them out of their lives rather than to speak the truth in love to them about their sins with the end goal that the others will repent and will turn from their sins and that there will be reconciliation. For it is easier for them to gossip about the offenders and to vent to other people about the wrong done to them rather than, in love, to help those who have sinned against them to have changed hearts and lives.

Now, to a certain degree, I sympathize with them, for it doesn’t always go so well if you do lovingly confront others with their sins against you. Sometimes they will get angry with you, or they will deny that they have done you wrong. And we do need to make certain that we do not accuse others wrongfully of what they did not do. I have had that done to me more than once, kind of like Job’s friends did to him. So, we do have to have real evidence that a sin actually occurred and that we were not mistaken.

But in cases where there were no witnesses and the others deny they did anything wrong, then it is really hard to prove you were actually sinned against, like in cases of emotional and mental abuse which leave no physical scars, and so there is no proof of wrongdoing. And then there are cases where the one doing the sinning is in a protected status, such as a man who gives a lot of money to the church. No one will go against him, even if they know the evil he is doing and continues to do to others.

And even if those who have sinned admit their sin, and they do not deny it, but they also are those who sin habitually without any genuine repentance, if they will not repent, and if they will not change their wicked ways, if you try to tell a pastor, for instance, hoping he will do something, chances are pretty good he will do nothing. For confronting sin in sinful human beings is not something most want to do today, for they are more concerned about not offending the sinners than they are about doing what is right.

Now, I am certainly not saying that no one is doing what this passage teaches, but from my experience I have not witnessed much of this being done or being done right, and sometimes the one who is trying to confront others ends up being treated as though he is the one sinning, instead of the other way around. And, again, this goes largely to the fact that it is not a popular thing to do today to confront anyone in their sins, and it has to do with those “protected” individuals, too, who no one will touch.

So, ideally this is the way it should be done, but we don’t live in an ideal world, not even within the gatherings of the church (or what is called “church”). And so much of the church has now gone the way of the world, and rather than confronting sinners with their sin they are placating them in their sin, or they are ignoring their sin, or they are telling them that their sins no longer matter to God. And so they are literally giving their adherents permission to continue living in sin, even knowing they are hurting others.

So, we live in a mixed up world where those who are doing right are often accused of wrongdoing while those who are doing evil are often lifted up and approved and even praised. The truly righteous are looked down upon while the truly evil are applauded. And this isn’t just in the world this is happening, but this is happening within the gatherings of the church (or what is called “church”). There is so much crooked stuff that goes on behind the scenes in a lot of “churches.” And many pastors are not men of God but they are charlatans building their earthly kingdoms.

Again, I am not saying that all congregations or that all people professing faith in Jesus Christ are like this, but from what I have observed from many years of experience in multiple locations, and from what I have listened to and read in people’s sermons and in the books they write, and from many years of serving in areas of ministry within the gatherings of the church, including being a “church planter,” along with my husband, twice, and from attending their training classes, this is the norm, not the exception.

But regardless of what others do or don’t do, we should always do what is right, even if we get mistreated in return, or even if we end up being treated like the “bad guy” while the truly bad guys get away with their evil, which happens a lot these days. But we should exercise good judgment in this, and if a woman has been sinned against by a man, I believe she should not try to confront that man on her own. But there again, she may not get any volunteers to go with her, either, or even have others who will believe her.

I pray my apologetics does not offend

They say that Adam (Male and Female) was the Crown of Creation, yet by far, most heterosexual Males will tell you that, the Female constitutes the primary Jewel of the Crown which gives him Value (self worth), She is a Cache full of Precious Gems, and without which he sees himself as just another sweaty head band, hoping to one day metamorphose into the Crown he knows he can be.



I personally am such a heterosexual Male, who however believes first things should be (or come) first, I have been practicing abstinence since the day I was Called from on High (1986), I also believe that we should all strive to be the best we can be, and not let anything or anyone Discourage, Dissuade or Detour us in this endeavor;



For when we give it our all, we sleep well at night, even the regretful things cannot be regretted when we known that we are sincerely trying to incline appropriately, and attain unto whatsoever is in our ability to achieve appropriate things.



Yet to pull this off we will need a Good Competent and Able Sovereign Author upon whom we can Trust and Rely, to save us (primarily) from ourselves, who only seem to know enough to get ourselves into trouble, reaping things that we have no desire to reap, and settling for less (in our own personal esteem):



(Hypothetically) We can all have the same…,Whatever, but (Theoretically) those who acquire or attain unto such things ill begottenly, those things will neither satisfy nor equate in value to Whatsoever is attained or acquired appropriately by others who were otherwise seeking to acquire or attain unto the very same thing.



As Children, we want what we want when we want it, of course this want (desire) is subject to change (and be forgotten or abandoned) the moment we get whatever we imagined we needed so bad.



Herein lies the perverse propensity lurking in the crevices of a foolish or immature imagination to perceive a Desire as a Necessity, and subsequently a thing to pursue First.



If I truly Want (Lack and subsequently Desire) something, then I should First Seek what is Necessary to attain and or achieve that Lacking yet Desired thing, so that I may dowse the flame of my Desire satisfactorily, for (according to Proverbs) the hearts desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Or how can we say, that we truly desire something when we are willing to do anything and everything, but what is required to attain or achieve that thing lawfully?


Yet a wise Child will earnestly pray to be given only appropriate desires, and have any inappropriate desires removed and barred from them, or what Child knows enough to discern between appropriate and inappropriate, or what child should depend upon an incompetent Child for Guidance and Direction?



Adam is clearly a Microcosm of Adamah (Earth) as Kha’vah (Eve) represents the Oxygen (Life Giving properties) of Shameyim (Heaven) (the Earth’s Atmosphere), together they constitute the World, otherwise referred to as the מלכות Kingdom, the very same word renders Queen;



Thus Females represent the Seat of Divine Authority, as Males represent the Divine Footstool, for Heaven is his Throne, and the Earth is his Footstool, where he rests his feet, or rather, puts his foot down.



We are instructed to Seek the מלכות Kingdom/Queen First and her Righteousness [Divine Justification], and all of our basic necessities would be provided.



Every parable spoken by Yeshua pertained to מלכות the Kingdom/Queen, whom the prophet Yeshayahu (Isaiah 51) likens unto Sarah [lit., the Dominion], and the Cavity (Heaven) from which we were Excavated, with Abvraham being depicted as the Rock (Earth) from which we were Quarried, and the Righteousness of Yah whom we are to Seek.



Nevertheless, Heaven declares ‘Women and Children Rule over my People’, which is to say, there are No Men governing over us, No One Mature enough to be rightfully called a Man;



Subsequently all Womankind is as a Widow with Child, if only she knew how to raise (and wean) him to be a Mature being, and united with a Wife, then he would qualify to be called a (whole) Man, he would that is, in the estimation of a Worldly standard, but from a Divine perspective he would be deemed No Man, but reckoned as Alohym.



The most common Crime/Sin committed by Women is when they refer to a male Child as a Man, the second most common Crime/Sin committed by a Woman is her neglect and or abandonment in her responsibility to raise (and wean) her Child, but rather keep him symbiotic, and dependent on her, and thereby establish proof that he is but a Child.



Girls, many Guys are depending on you to do your behalf, that they (the Males) may also qualify to perform their behalf, the question is, are we truly willing to do what it takes to satisfy necessary requirements, or should we continue to pursue our inept imaginations just to end up glorifying something that is yet short of the glory?



There is no greater gift or propensity than to have and exercise than the ability to please the one seated on the throne, however to do so Conscientiously, it requires us to Know him, wherefore we study his Word to align our Walk and Talk to draw closer to him, in an acceptable fashion.

In my personal estimation, there is only one context in which we are all truly equal, and that is, we all have the ability to Please or Displease our Maker, let us strive to put a smile upon his face.

Was the last supper and the Seder the same meal eaten by Jesus and the disciples or was it a different meal?

Though there are some similarities, I think they were different and here’s why …

First off the last supper was eaten on the Eve of the 14th and the Seder is eaten on the 15th



During the last supper there was the washing of feet
Dipping of bread
No mention of eating lamb
Nor of bitter herbs
There was the breaking of bread but it was not hidden like the afikomen but given to be eaten signifying his body to be broken for many
A cup of wine signifies his blood of the new covenant
Promises were made
Nazarene vow made

I’m asking if anyone sees similarities or differences to comment

A similar note I see is that there were prophetic utterances announced in both meals

How do I break up correctly?

Okay so, I've been on here so many times trying to analyze my relationship with my bf... I'm calling it off. He's not ready to marry me, we came very close to committing "all the way" kind of sexual sin, and in general I don't respect him as I should.

However. In the last 24 hours I've said some very mean things to him. He said he was hurt, I did a 180 and asked him not to break up (I felt dread in me when he said he was hurt, but I didn't want him to break up with me, I wanted to be the one to do it). He said we need to take a break until Saturday.

I wrote him an apology I intend to read him, because he's a person and deserves not to be sinned against (my foul words). Once I'm done reading that, I want to then politely tell him I want to break up.

Two thoughts I have:
1) after I apologize, ask him what he wants to do and hope he says break up
2) tell him I want to break up right after I apologize

I don't want to tell him I disrespect him, except--I already did last night.

So how would I politely word it that we should end things? He made mistakes on his part and I don't want to minimize those; I had told him I want to get married and he didn't take much initiative at all to move us along towards that. It's been a year and he should know by now if he wants to get married. I mean, I could just say that?

its common sense that woman want a good looking, tall , strong guy who has money. why would woman settle for average/unattractive short men who dont have money when they can get much better? stop trying to change women and tell them who they should date and be together with. you cant change biology. women work the way they do because thats how God made them. some guys act like they are owned something.

According to Dan 8:19 the vision in Dan 8 pertains to the final period of indignation or the end of the end times, which disqualifies Alexander the Great’s conquest because it took place in 331 BC, which is before the end times began.
Dan. 8:19 He said, “Behold, I am going to let you know what will occur at the final period of the indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end.

Since the vision pertains to the end of the end times and Media and Persia are no longer called by these names, this tells us that these ancient names, which are found in Dan 8:20 are symbolic of the names of these regions in the end of the end times. Today Media is called Iraq and Persia is called Iran. The fact that the vision takes place in the end of the end times and these ancient kingdoms and their ancient names are no longer in existence, disqualifies Alexander the Greats conquest as the fulfillment of Dan 8, since Alexander the Great’s conquest took place in 331 BC, which is before the end times began and he defeated Persia, which in the vision of the end of the end times symbolically represents Iran. The vision in Dan 8 depicts a war that involves the kings of Iran and Iraq, which supports the idea that the two horns symbolized King Ayatollah Khmeini of Iran and Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Furthermore Alexander the Great’s kingdom never divided into four regions when he died, it imploded when the generals he placed over the regions he conquered fought with one another until Rome seized control of the kingdom.

Dan.8:23 supports this revelation when it reveals that these four conspicuous kingdoms are committing transgressions, which are the terrorist acts that these four Muslim terrorist kingdoms have been committing throughout the earth.

Jesus revealed to me that the ten-nation kingdom is made up of those nations that surround Israel that are working together or as a kingdom to overthrow Israel and the ten kings that arise within the ten-nation kingdom are the emerging dominant leaders of the terrorist organizations that are working side by side with the kings of the ten-nation kingdom.

The fact that the horn between the shaggy goats eye symbolizes:
- the nation that helps the shaggy goat defeat the kings of Media (Iraq) and Persia (Iran), (Dan 8:5)
- the nation with the entity that breaks up without the authority of the king, which causes four
conspicuous kingdoms to grow throughout the earth (Dan 8:8)
- the nation that the first of the ten kings arises from (Dan 8:21 and Dan 7:24)

Why should we strive to get to Heaven?

Lately I've got this way of thinking that I don't want to follow rules and be someone's servant. When I pray to God I don't feel anything like I used to, the things I enjoy on earth make me happier than turning to God does.

I'm just wondering, why should we even care about going to Heaven? It seems like you have to fight every natural urge and desire you have just on the off-chance you might get to Heaven, despite the fact that we can't help our human nature and we didn't ask to exist I'm the first place. Isn't it better to go to Hell knowing you lived for yourself and didn't deny yourself happiness, than stressing out all the time on Earth just to then go to Heaven and continue being someone's servant for eternity? I feel like if I go to Hell at least I lived for myself and didn't let myself be bullied/strongarmed into following rules that I don't even really want to.


I used to be terrified of Hell and constantly try to please God, and I never felt as happy as I do when I just please myself and don't worry about it.
