I have a friend that I known for 15 years or so. He has cerebral palsy, which means that he has to have crutches to walk. He is in his mid 60's, living alone in an apartment, no children or wife, and works a minimum wage job. Over the years, he helped someone out and acquired a tremendous amount of debt. He is trying to pay it off as best as he can.

Lately, he went to the hospital due to his back. He says that he cannot walk and his back is hurting him. After a while, it seems to be better, but the doctors cannot find anything really wrong with him. He says that he has to get back to his apartment and back to his job, but he feels like he might lose either one or both because he has been away for a month. He keeps saying that the church or the people around him don't help him, and he feels that God has abandoned him. Please keep him in your prayers. His name is Richard. Thank you.

Do you think it is ok if the husband just was a regular Christian rather than being a very strong Christian?

Ok so here I am five days before Christmas trying to shop for a white elephant exchange my family decided to do this year. My sister's calling it a "your favorite things" exchange (kinda like Oprah) where we gift something we have that we really like (not the one we have but buy another one like it to give). Problem is I don't do small things or knick knacks really, so I got nothing. I was hoping to find something Catholic but unconventional (as in, NOT a rosary, statue, icon, devotional book, etc) since my wife, kids and I are the only Catholics.

That said I'm trying to reel my family into the faith by exposing them to more Catholic stuff so I wanna find something that's useful and applicable to them but also might pique their curiosity about the faith.

If ya have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

So then from the rise of the little horn in 508 AD when Clovis converts from paganism to Catholicism or in 538 AD when the last of the three arian groups are defeated and the Catholic Church is dominant ,, until 1798 there is 1260 years of protestant persecution.

It's common for presidents to give federal workers the day off on Christmas Eve, depending on where it falls on the calendar.

This year marks the first time that Trump has ordered Dec. 26 to be a federal holiday.


It's a poor excuse for picking the taxpayer's pockets every December 24th through December 26th.

The Administration for Children and Families, which oversees ORR, said via email that earlier this year, it put in place “enhanced vetting policies” for adults who will care for the children after their release.

According to eight officials at ORR, who asked not to be named because they fear losing their jobs, the government largely stopped releasing children to sponsors in early November, even those who had cleared the vetting process.

Eight immigration attorneys across the country — in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Miami, Charlotte and Washington, D.C. — said that since early November, they have not been able to get kids with cleared sponsors out of ORR custody in most cases, even after sending letters to ORR demanding they be released and threatening litigation. The attorneys said the government has not explained why it won't let the kids go.

i'm seeking for your feeling or advice about my moral and christian donating at CF.

Indeed,
i never donated, but i use the forum enough to feel spiritually wealthier, and thus the question occurs to my mind.
But, first and foremost, i thank CF for the services it proposes

Even if donating, you probably guess it won't rival the gift of the poor widow of the Scriptures.
It'll remain a modest gift, not specifically for CF (even if not indifferent), but rather for my own self centered feelings of righteousness.

A parameter, that i believe not very relevant is :
It looks in my own and thus subjective perception of CF ressources that CF's other donators are far wealthier than i am, and still less relevant : i feel like my country, France has become poor, or spending above what it should. You could say : "give back France what is his, and to God, as well". Actually, i think it wouldn't be unrelevant.

Another parameter a bit complacent with my conscience, is : May be my participations at the friendly exchanges of ideas is a bit compensating, and the gratuity of CF' services testifying of christianism.
But indeed, if i find this complacency as easy as the yoke Jesus speaks of as being his, i am yet looking for where to position the "cursor of donation"

Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), considered one of the leading seminaries in the U.S., has launched its first series of Arabic-language curriculum.

Starting this fall semester, the 101-year-old seminary expanded its ministry reach with online courses taught in Arabic for students pursuing either a Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies (GCCS) or the Master of Biblical and Theological Studies (MBTS), DTS announced on Dec. 5.

Under the program, the initial cohort of 10 students based in both the U.S. and the Middle East, are taking courses in a pre-recorded, online format with reading materials and resources in Arabic. Their first course is a biblical study of the theological concept of Trinitarianism, according to a seminary spokesperson.

Led by Milad F. Dagher, director of DTS-Arabic and associate professor of Old Testament studies, DTS’ Arabic-language program was launched following two years of discussions among DTS leadership about preparing students for ministry in Arabic. Then-DTS President Mark Bailey and current President Mark Yarbrough — who was also Dagher’s seminary classmate — were involved in forming specifics about Arabic-language instruction. In January 2024, Dagher began working remotely as a part-time adviser at DTS.

York St John’s University has been accused of discriminating against Christians by allowing the performance of a gay-themed Nativity play.

In the play, Jesus is described as the coming “King of the Gays,” while his parents are a lesbian couple named Mary and Jo. The play, called "A Gay in a Manger," is the work of the university LGBTQ network.

A preview of the play states, “Mary and Jo packed their pride flags and set off on the long journey to the best gay club this side of the Red Sea – Heaven. My brother is back with his "boyfriend" after they broke up. My brother went to a mental hospital after he got drunk, tried to harm himself, went to a mental hospital. Then he continued to do other destructive behavior.
Unfortunately, they are back together.
I know for a fact he habitually cheats on him and have proof of that.
Please pray my brother will turn to Christ and leave that lifestyle all together.

Trump’s DOJ offers states confidential deal to remove voters flagged by feds • Stateline

The U.S. Department of Justice has sent confidential draft agreements on voter data sharing to more than a dozen states, part of the Trump administration’s effort to obtain unredacted voter rolls, with one of its attorneys saying 11 states have shown a "willingness to comply."

The agreement — called a memorandum of understanding, or MOU — would hand the federal government a major role in election administration, a responsibility that belongs to the states under the U.S. Constitution.

A Justice Department official identified 11 states that have expressed an interest in the agreement during a federal court hearing in December, according to a transcript reviewed by Stateline. Two additional states, Colorado and Wisconsin, have publicly rejected the memorandum of understanding and released copies of the proposal.

Neff’s courtroom disclosure, which Stateline is the first to report, comes as the Justice Department has sued 21 states and the District of Columbia for unredacted copies of their voter rolls after demanding the data from most states in recent months.
