No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. Pray Jesus Christ's Gospel of Peace spreads in Bangladesh in order to End the violent political protests caused by the death of a political leader

Pray Jesus Christ's Gospel of Peace spreads in Bangladesh in order to End the violent political protests caused by the death of a political leader:

Do the angels in heaven celebrate the atonement of Christ?

The reason why I ask this is that our church leaders regard the communion service as really a tradition that needs to be done but doesn't engage them personally. It's the only time they ever use the liturgy. That part is just bolted onto the service. And in administering the bread they all utter a flawed statement. "This is my body, broken for you". Jesus's body was not broken. It's not in their liturgy nor the pew bibles. It's specifically prophesied AGAINST. He was whipped and bruised but "Not one bone shall be broken...". I think our leaders are just...embarrassed. It's all so primitive for them. Cannibalism...etc
They prefer to preach about refugees, boat people, women's issues. But IN HEAVEN they celebrate the victory of Christ on the cross over the devil, the world and our rebellious estrangement from God. And the Angels glorify the Son and celebrate. What do you think?

Hegseth to overhaul chaplain corps, toss ‘unacceptable’ Army spiritual fitness guide, 'streamline' list of recognized religions soldiers can have

“Our chaplains are chaplains, not emotional support officers, and we’re going to treat them as such,” Hegseth said in a video statement to the force on Wednesday.

He took special aim at the Army, saying its current spiritual fitness guide is pushing secular humanism, and he ordered the service to cease using the program immediately. “It mentions God one time. That’s it,” Hegseth said. “It mentions feelings 11 times. It even mentions playfulness, whatever that is, nine times. … In short, it’s unacceptable and unserious. So we’re tossing it.”

Hegseth said the Pentagon is working on a new program, which could curtail what qualifies as a faith or belief recognized in the military.

In 2017, the Defense Department updated what qualifies as a recognized religious denomination or belief system, with a list of 221 groups that ranged from the mainstream to obscure Christian sects, Wiccans and atheists. Hegseth blamed such changes on “political correctness” and an “ongoing war on warriors.” The department will create a new list of religious affiliation codes, he said without specifying what religions or belief systems are in and which ones are out

Are there still money changers in the church today?

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

Matthew 21: 12-13 Then Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who were selling and buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. He said to them, “It is written,

‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’
but you are making it a den of robbers.”

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

Mark 11:15-18 Then they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling and those who were buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves, and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. He was teaching and saying, “Is it not written,

‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’?
But you have made it a den of robbers.”

And when the chief priests and the scribes heard it, they kept looking for a way to kill him, for they were afraid of him because the whole crowd was spellbound by his teaching.

What do you think, are there still money changers today and should they be 'driven out'? God Bless All :)

'Remarkably candid admission' as DOJ lawyers admit to court that Trump is targeting blue states in cutting energy grants

Part of the Trump administration's energy policy involves energy grants to individual U.S. states. And according to the Washington Post, government lawyers admitted, in a December 15 court filing, that the decision to cut energy grants was based on partisanship.

Post reporters Meryl Kornfield and Hannah Natanson, in an article published on December 17, explain, "The Trump Administration acknowledged, in a court filing this week, that a decision to cut energy grants during the government shutdown was influenced by whether the money would go to a state that tended to elect Democrats statewide or nationally. Government lawyers also wrote in the filing that 'consideration of partisan politics is constitutionally permissible, including because it can serve as a proxy for legitimate policy considerations.'"

The "remarkably candid admission" in the filing, according to Kornfield and Natanson, "echoes" Trump's "frequent vows to punish cities and states that he sees as his enemies, from withholding disaster relief for Southern California to targeting blue cities with National Guard troops."

If we want to split hairs, I guess the Administration is not 'admitting' the fact, but it is not contesting the fact. And the footnote definitely has a whiff of "yeah, we did it, and there's nothing wrong with it."

THE PURPOSE OF TONGUES IN THE ASSEMBLY

It's important to understand the history of it in the Old Testament to know what is actually happening in Corinth when Paul speaks about it, both encouraging, and rebuking.

Tongues is just a sixteenth century word for languages. I think that some people like the term 'tongues' because it giveth them a magic hocus pocus feeling. It just means languages. No need for the sign anymore. It's primary purpose has went and gone. The secondary uses that were necessary to keep it Biblical went with it. One of the main reasons tongues were spoken at Pentecost pointed towards A.D 70. as was noted in the link provided, God's judgment on Israel. Tongues were also spoken to show by way of miracle that God's "Promise of the Father" that was owed to OT saints was being given, the NT indwelling that all Christians receive the moment Jesus places the Holy Spirit in them, called the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It also showed that God was undoing the confusion of languages that He caused way back in Babylon to evangelize the whole world. The Gentiles were now grafted in per Romans 11:17-24 to provoke Israel to jealousy. Please at least glance over the link provided if you're going to respond. Thanks.

Ashamed to show my face

Hi, I am sorry if my posts are not emanating Catholic stuff these days but I'm beating myself up over something that probably no one else gives a fig about.

I made a joke during a speaking event (low-key stuff, in their Parish Hall) yesterday and while I have been complimented for my sense of humor, I still hate how I did it.

The priest was talking about different religious orders, and when he was on the Benedictine order, one of the bullet points on the slide was that the order likes to "retreat" from the issues of the world.

Here I inserted my 2 cents and I asked in a lighthearted, jovial manner, "Does that mean they like to run away from their problems?" and the priest indicated that this is kind of what it meant and I said something like "Yeah, I tend to run away from my problems" and the priest said (he wasn't impolite when he said this) something like "Well, then the Benedictines are for you." And I said "Ok."

Now, in the past, during my last two formation courses, people have pleasantly laughed when I said things and have told me I'm funny, but I feel so embarrassed about last night. I know, no one will care right? And if they do care, they'll get over it.

However, the next time I step foot in that church and walk up to the front pews to sit, I'm going to be known as the person who made that joke :sigh:

Pete Hegseth Vows Top-Down Cultural Shift To Rebuild the Military Chaplain Corps

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth released a video announcing directives to “make the Chaplain Corps great again.”

“I’m here to tell you about a real problem facing our nation’s military. It’s one you’re probably not aware of, but it’s a really important one, and it’s been going on for far too long. The weakening of our Chaplain Corps,” Hegseth stated.

Hegseth explained that George Washington established the Chaplain Corps in 1775 with the intention of it being the “spiritual and moral backbone of our nation’s forces.” Hegseth quoted Washington as saying, “The blessing and protection of heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger.”

At Pentagon Christmas Service, Franklin Graham Praises ‘God of War’ “We know that God loves. But did you know that God also hates?"

Typical Christmas sermon, I suppose.

Speaking at a “Christmas Worship Service” at the Pentagon on Wednesday (Dec. 17), evangelist Franklin Graham celebrated that God is not just a God of love but also of hate and war.

“We know that God loves. But did you know that God also hates? Do you know that God also is a God of war? Many people don’t want to think about that, or forget that,” he declared as he stood on stage near two Christmas trees with a nativity scene and a Hanukkah Menorah in front of them.

Graham briefly recounted a story in Exodus 17, where Joshua led the ancient Israelites in battle against the Amalekites as Moses stood on a mountain holding up his arms. Graham said that not only did they win the battle, but God remembered how the Amalekites had attacked the Israelites. So Graham then turned to 1 Samuel 15, where the prophet Samuel told King Saul to kill all the Amalekites.

"Don’t spare them, but kill them, both man and woman, infant, nursing child, ox, sheep, camel, and donkey.’ So Samuel gave the instructions for the mission. Now, people will say, ‘But, Franklin, that is so hard; that’s not the God I believe in.’ Well, you had better believe in him.”

As Graham notes, some Christians find the story of the genocide of the Amalekites a little difficult to wrestle with; but it seems the new breed of masculine Christianity that has arisen has elevated the story, proclaiming it openly as an example for the troops.

Cross or Crucifix

Growing up in the Roman Catholic Church the Crucifix was always the symbol we had in the home. After leaving the church and becoming Pentecostal, now it is a Cross.

Which do you choose, and why.

Let's show our good Christian attitude and take jabs at each other.

For me - I choose the Cross, because I view it like I view the empty tomb - the Risen Savior.

Accidental double post. Sorry.

Iranian Christian Family Fears Arrest, Deportation

[8] prayers in [1] nation have been posted for Christian family.
Turkish officials in cities like Istanbul have been increasingly deporting Iranians.
The Turkish government has made it increasingly difficult for Iranian Christian refugees to remain in the country. Iranians do not need a visa to visit Turkiye, so some Iranian converts to Christianity fled there in recent years seeking refuge. One Iranian Christian family currently living in Turkiye faces the constant threat of being deported back to Iran. In 2017, the couple was arrested in Iran along with their entire house church before fleeing the country. If they were sent back to Iran, they would almost certainly be apprehended upon arrival and their children taken to be raised by strangers. Read More.

White House adds plaques below Biden and Obama portraits, calling them ‘the worst President in American history’ and ‘divisive’

White House staff updated the so-called “Presidential Walk of Fame” Wednesday by adding lengthy descriptions of each former president, in rhetoric that aligns with President Donald Trump’s – such as calling former President Joe Biden “the worst President in American History.”
As part of the president’s ongoing effort to customize the White House to his liking, Trump set his well-known opinions of each former president in stone by adding plaques underneath the portraits that now hang along the colonnade.
But rather than neutrally describing each president, Trump chose to invoke more color – claiming former President Barack Obama is “one of the most divisive political figures” and asserting former President Ronald Reagan “was a fan.”
An absolutely disgusting display by a petulant, man-child of a President.

Christian Leaders Denounce President Trump’s Rob Reiner Comments as ‘Vile’ and ‘Shameful’

Christian leaders and influencers have been quick to blast President Donald Trump’s comments that followed the murder of beloved filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner (78) and his wife, film producer Michele Singer Reiner (68).

According to reports, Rob and Michele were allegedly murdered by their 32-year-old son, Nick, on the afternoon of Sunday (Dec. 14). One of Reiner’s daughters alerted authorities after discovering Rob and Michele in their home with both of their throats slit. Nick was later arrested and is being held without bond. Rob was previously married to actor Penny Marshall from 1971-1981. He married Michele in 1989.

Reiner is known for directing the films “A Few Good Men,” “The Princess Bride,” “Misery,” “Stand by Me,” “This Is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “The American President.”

The life of Adam, and Eve

There are 5 different versions of this text

A few different versions are on audiobook on youtube.
The Greek one says Moses wrote it. Not all of them have the 5500 year prophecy only some do. I assume it was in the original. When Gospel of Nicodemus says Pilate went into the temple, and the Judeans opened a 70 book bible (the 70 books were the books outside the normal canon only for the wise mentioned in 2 Esdras 557-457 BC), and says the first book had a 5500 year prophecy until the messiah it could be referencing Life of Adam, and Eve meaning that was the first book or actually I believe the first book was 1 Enoch, and it originally contained that 5500 year prophecy which has since been lost.

Ceremonial sabbaths versus the Sabbath

Many Christians quote this text and fail to understand its meaning.
Colossians 2:16
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

AI almost got this right.. 'A "ceremonial Sabbath" refers to the special, annual holy days in the Old Testament (like the first and last days of Unleavened Bread or Passover, Pentecost, Day of Atonement, Feast of Trumpets) which were distinct from the weekly seventh-day Sabbath, serving as foreshadows of Christ's work, fulfilled at His cross, while the weekly Sabbath (Saturday) is seen by many Christians as a moral, perpetual command established at creation, separate from those ceremonial laws.'

We see these feast days or 'ceremonial sabbaths' in Leviticus 23..
Leviticus 23:1-44
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.
4 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
9 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the Lord.
13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.
14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord.
17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord.
18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the Lord, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the Lord.
19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest.
21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.
29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
33 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.
35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
37 These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
38 Beside the sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the Lord.
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.
41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord.

Koala on a Bus

A koala ended up hitching a ride on a bus in a suburb called Camp Hill.

It was released in bushland in another suburb called "Seven Hills".

Incidentally the suburb "Seven Hills" In Brisbane (QLD) was subdivided and marketed in the 1890s, deliberately referencing the Seven Hills of Rome.

The connection to Rome is explicit, with streets named after Roman hills, including Palatine, Capitoline, Aventine, Caelian, Esquiline, and Viminal.

Clinton-Appointed Judge Orders FBI to Destroy Evidence in Comey Case

A Clinton-appointed federal judge has ordered the FBI to destroy emails central to the obstruction and false statements case against former FBI Director James Comey, a decision that legal experts warn could cripple prosecutors’ ability to pursue a new indictment and set off a constitutional showdown over separation of powers.

An absolutely outrageous order.
