The cardinal also said that it is permissible for the commingled ashes of deceased and baptized persons to be set aside in a permanent sacred place if the names of the person are indicated so as to not lose memory of them.

Under certain circumstances, it may be permissible for a Catholic to keep a small portion of a deceased loved one’s ashes in a personal place of significance if some conditions are met, according to the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

The guidance came from a letter written by Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, who serves as the prefect for the dicastery. The recently published letter was sent in response to an inquiry from Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi, the archbishop of Bologna, Italy.

According to Cardinal Fernández, the ecclesiastical authority may consider and evaluate a request from a deceased person’s family “to preserve in an appropriate way a minimal part of the ashes of their relative in a place of significance for the history of the deceased person.”

However, this can only be the case if the family rejects “every type of pantheistic, naturalistic, or nihilistic misunderstanding,” the letter emphasized. It added that the ashes of the deceased “are [to be] kept in a sacred place.”

I am watching a YouTube video about FLDS (a polygamous Mormon sect) where it was mentioned that they forbid their members to celebrate Christmas (they allege it is a pagan holiday). So, I am wondering why so many religious groups, specifically Christian (or maybe "Christian") groups hate Christmas so much? Is there anything in scripture that can be used to justify it?

Praying for healing for my wife from bitterness and unforgiveness which has lead to depression
Been an ongoing thing. Ive seen that bitter and unforgiving tree take root deep into my wife's heart over the words of others that have hurt her and i think ultiamtely from parents that didnt give her the love and foundation she needed. Even well intentioned words and often words that the devil has twisted (conspiratorial thinking) can get in there and really damage her.
She has struggled from borderline personality disorder for quite some time. Quite destructive on our family (1 daughter).

Praying for complete restoration. her Joy is absolutely sucked away. In many ways i see her being handed to the tormentors (Matthew 18:34) and sometimes on a dialy basis is plagued by the hurt.
Some days are very depressed days, with swearing and using God's name in vain (she doesnt usually swear). Fortunately my daughter recognises it and im hoping God protects her mind).

God is one nature, one being, but three persons.
Three distinct persons.
Jesus is God, he is of that divine nature, and wholly God... but at the same time wholly man.
He's God the Son, that unique person. The Son is not the Father.
And he had that distinct Person since always.
Ok.

Looking at the other two Persons of God....
They also each have their own distinct and separate persons.

God the Father is also of this Divine God Nature, but it's also distinctly the Father.

Also, the Holy Spirit is also, the distinct Person of the Holy Spirit.

We talk about Jesus Christ having two natures, but that is to do with his human/divine nature... not, as far as I can tell, to do with his being the unique Person (Son). That unique 'God the Son'-ness is included in his Divine Nature.

God the Father and the Holy Spirit can't be said to have two Natures in the same way as Jesus, because their Father-ness and Spirit-ness don't constitute something different from their divine natures.

Or... Am I wrong to separate Jesus's Humanness from his Son-ness?

Sorry, if this is a convoluted question, I hope you can see what I'm trying to figure out and clarify?

Second question... In the New Jerusalem, will Jesus still have human nature... will he walk the streets with a human body and mind?

Good day, I'm asking for prayer for the return of my wife Cindy-Ann and restoration in my marriage, for Dwayne .Please pray that unforgiveness is removed and the Lord fills our hearts with love for each other. It's not the Scriptures themselves I'm discussing. It's the way I've always heard this book of the Bible presented, and I'm thinking there is a better, more accurate way to draw lessons from these events. I am not presuming to criticize the Bible. The book of Esther is told as a narration, not as a commentary. It says this thing happened, then that thing happened, and this person said this and did that, without making any evaluation on whether any of it is good or bad. (Possible exception in Haman's case. In his prideful hatred, he was obviously scheming.) The story is told, and included in the Bible, for God's reasons. I'm not saying He, or any words in the book, are wrong.

Yet every sermon I have heard on the book of Esther goes along the lines of, "Bad Queen Vashti! She got the punishment she richly deserved for disobeying her husband! Good Queen Esther! She was properly meek and subservient!" Not to mention that Esther was chosen based on her looks in the first place. Everybody knows looking beautiful and doing as she's told is a woman's only purpose in life. If she isn't meeting that standard, it's OK to kick her out and get a new one. Again, the Bible isn't stating this, but that was apparently the thinking of the day, and some people use this book to illustrate that it should still be so.

You know what? If I were in Vashti's position, I wouldn't have come either. King Ahasuerus and his cronies had been drinking and partying for days, and it is outright stated that they were stinking sloshed. Then to summon her just so he could put her on display, showing off how beautiful she was? "Hey, y'all. (hic) I gotta great idea. Wanna have some fun? Let me call my wife in here, so you can check out the eye candy. Hey, sweet cheeks, get in here!"

Have you ever been a woman surrounded by a bunch of rowdy, intoxicated men? They weren't about to stop with just gawking and leering at her. They were going to be slurring out catcalls. Chances are, they were going to get handsy. Who knows what could have happened to her? Of course she wouldn't come.

So the King's advisors were afraid this was going to set a precedent, and all women everywhere were going to start disobeying their husbands. Rest assured, my husband would NEVER expect me to place myself in a dangerous predicament, and no good husband ever should. King Ahasuerus would have been a lot more respectable if, after he sobered up, he apologized to his wife for his unreasonable demand, and took steps to see that it never happened again.

That would have made him a better King. But then Esther wouldn't have become Queen, and if she hadn't become Queen, then she wouldn't have had the opportunity to intervene when her people were threatened. That's what the book all leads up to. But instead of focusing on Esther becoming Queen by God's design, so she could be in a position to save her people, a lot of preachers spend too much time contrasting Esther with Vashti, one being good and the other being bad. Some people even lump Vashti into the same classification as Jezebel, just because she wouldn't jump when her husband called her. Proper womanly character is not the central theme of the book. God placing people where He can use them to make great changes, is.

I did hear one preacher say, when leading a Bible study, that perhaps God was protecting Vashti by taking her out of an abusive situation. After all, if her husband would so willingly expose her to that kind of danger, then somewhere down the line, he and his drinking buddies might have ended up doing something even worse to her. Things like this almost always escalate. They don't get better. At least that's a small departure from the typical "Vashti was bad and disobeyed her husband, and kicking her out on her ear was completely justified" interpretation that I usually hear.

When pinned to the wall by the women in the group, the preacher did admit that Vashti did nothing wrong. She was only protecting herself.

All three are Petrine sees, Saint Peter the apostle was bishop of Rome and he was also bishop of Antioch at a different time, and Alexandria, how is it Petrine? It was founded by Saint Peter's disciple and helper, Mark, who was bishop there.

I seldom have anything in common with Bill Maher, he is after all an ideologue. However looks like he is not far gone enough that him and I cannot have common grounds. So much of what his stance is very inline with my own such as stop looking at race to determine if it is good works or charity, stop politicizing something and making it into an identity & playing the victimhood Olympics. Bravo the "Liberal" west might actually have hope to live up to its meaning.

"Weaponisation of the DOJ" seems to be a hot phrase being parroted about in USA right wing circles.

But what does that actually mean?

It comes down to levels of weaponisation. It isn't just yes its weaponised or no it's not.
I don't even like that term "weaponisation" It's very hyperbolic and seems to be solely used to put the audience into a state of fear.

Idealistically Lady Justice is supposed to be blind. No one is supposed to be able to press down and tilt the scales in their favour.
The person leading the justice department is typically a political person (a member of the ruling party, assigned to the position by the president or prime minister), but their job is to manage the DOJ machine, not to make it favourable for their party or leader and aggressive to opposition parties. They are there to support governance, funding and policy, not to make operational decisions e.g which case to take up and which not to. They can get involved in special circumstances to which they ought to appoint a Special Council and this Special Council is to be an independent highly qualified professional rather than a party member politician.

So to this regard the department are supposed to follow general policy and procedures and apply the law to incidences of crimes or potential crimes regardless of who the suspect or criminal is.
It helps if the AG steers clear of being the person to make operational decisions, stick to governance, stay out of operations.

In some dictator like countries, their head of DOJ equivalent has a close relationship with the president/prime minister and locks up on trumped up charges, the president/prime minister's political opposition and journalists and people that dissent. This is done in many countries. Russia for example, were locking people up for criticising Putin or even calling the Ukraine war a war.

So far in USA, no one has gone to that extreme.
D Trump campaigned on "Lock her up" with regards to H Clinton. It became a rally chant at his political rallies. It was a campaign promise. It was highly inappropriate for the presidential candidate to suggest he would interfere in the Justice system and to direct them towards investigating or charging Hilary. It was highly inappropriate for D Trump and his campaign members to claim that Hilary was guilty and to chant lock her up. In free world democracies there is a process before a person is determined as guilty, and people should expect presidents and presidential candidates to respect that process.
Perhaps in the imaginative and highly hopeful minds of some of Trump's most ardent MAGA fans they imagined and wanted Trump on first day of presidency to tap his AG on the shoulder and have the AG then send in the cops to arrest Hilary and throw her in jail. I expect those MAGA fans would have been totally fine with that and were probably disappointed that he didn't do this.
But ultimately the campaign promise went unfulfilled. H Clinton was no longer a threat anyway as the election was over and D Trump had won. It was all just hyperbolic bluster.

The FBI during the end of Obama's last term had started Hurricane Crossfire, an investigation into members of the D Trump campaign and whether they had illegally conspired with Russians in the Russian USA election interference campaign.
The DOJ didn't get involved until after D Trump took control of the white house and fired the FBI director in an attempt to kill the investigation. (This act was dictator like. President's should not look to interfere into FBI, CIA, or DOJ investigations). But anyway, the Republican acting Attorney General then recruited a Special Council to continue with this investigation (except only investigate non D Trump members of the D Trump campaign) and to also investigate if anyone helped D Trump with obstruction of Justice. The constraint that the acting AG put on Mueller was that he was not to indict the sitting president, so at no point did the investigation seek to charge D Trump with anything.

All the while the investigation went on D Trump continually spoke in front of cameras to undermine the investigation, continually and disgracefully calling it a witch hunt.
Somehow D Trump supporters and Right wing propaganda media tried to spin the investigation and paint it as the Democrats and MSM going after D Trump. When in fact the investigation was instigated and controlled by the Republicans, and the MSM were simply reporting that the investigation was happening.

D Trump appointed Bill Bar as the AG for the DOJ.
Throughout Bill Barr's tenure as AG for the DOJ he was in close contact with D Trump and spent much of his time running defense and errands for D Trump.

D Trump demanded from Bill Barr to declare widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election despite no evidence of the fraud, then pressured Bill Barr to quit.
D Trump then demanded Bill Barr's replacement Jeffrey Rosen to submit a letter drafted by Jeffrey Clark to alert state officials falsely stating "that the Justice Department had identified significant concerns that would affect the state's election results"
D Trump then brought in Jeffrey Clark and threatened to fire Rosen and replace him with Clark.
“This evening, after Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen over the course of the last week repeatedly refused the President’s direct instructions to utilize the Department of Justice’s law enforcement powers for improper ends, the President removed Jeff from the Department,” the draft letter, reviewed by CNN, says.

All of the above would be deemed as gross missuse of the DOJ. Using the DOJ as D Trump's personal department to protect him and his associates from investigations, to attack his "enemies", to try and steal the 2020 election for him.

Then under Biden's presidency, we've had Biden appoint Marrick Garland as his AG to the DOJ.
Biden stated that he would not interfere in any investigations and that he is leaving all upto Garland and the DOJ, he is not going to tell them to investigate D Trump.
When Garland created a Special Council to investigate Joe Biden's son, we have not heard Biden putting down the investigation, not heard him call it a witch hunt.

At the church I go to, every sermon seems geared to saying "we are saved" but no detail is given on Sundays or in the rare home groups about what comes next. Is prayer not needed and if it is needed why can it not be explained and discussed. Did God abolish contingency and providence and the need to look after each other's integrity, just because we are posh and upper middle class now that all crises are permanently over? Are they "one verse charlies"? A few of their more forthright young people who threw down the gauntlet to the preachers as if taking them at their word, are now looking worried. Will they be allowed to ask questions about faith? I (single old man) got told (by the group animator) worshipping in Spirit and in Truth was off-topic the other week when we were supposed to be using Jn 4. Maybe a big, round faith like in my young day wasn't meant to be right, after all. St Paul says "love believes all things" and that is outdated apparently, according to the extra authoritative religious authorities of nowadays. So my question is, given that faith is theology come alive, how can I practice as co-theologian among my congregation fellow members? Can I pick on any small points to encourage and affirm my peers in, and can they do the same for me? There is too little to believe in nowadays. I fear that if I don't attend, some genuine people with potential will not want to contact me and that may be to our mutual loss.

I am a pro-life Christian but my views are my own ( let God sort out the rest) and I didn't even force my daughter to have one. I thank God she didn't because that grandbaby changed my life.
My abortion issue is having to pay for it, Today's many abortions are just used as birth control because of kid's irresponsibility. For issues such as Kate and documented criminal acts, the state should help. I think Ken Paxton is virtue signaling like so many of our politicians do.

I was given my summons for eviction today, have 5 days to respond. I already viewed the case file and pulled the law library information for the case, and I have a draft of an answer to the case. If all goes well, I'm confident that I can win this case. Please pray for:

1. Clarity for me, so that I can find my copies of all of the eviction notices that my dad has given my over the years. I saved them, but in all of the shuffling of papers over the years, I'm not sure where they are. Finding them would strengthen my case. I hope I wasn't stupid enough to throw them all away.

2. Wisdom for the legal aid society that is going to help me tomorrow, to improve my draft answer to the summons. Please pray that I can get an attorney to help me with the case.

3. And of course, pray for victory. A father should not be evicting his daughter from somewhere when she's struggling, and especially not before unbelievers.

There are a good number of Televised church services hosted by pastors who teach that God wants Christians to be wealthy in earthly goods. Do you believe that God wants you to be wealthy in earthly goods?

I've not thought of the other planets in this way.
