Once-Abused Dog Gets to Celebrate First Christmas With Vet Who Saved Him

A dog was just 12-weeks-old when he was brought into an animal hospital with signs of abuse, but now he gets to celebrate his ‘first proper’ Christmas with the veterinarian nurse who helped save him.

Terry the Whippet arrived at the Hull PDSA Animal Hospital in East Yorkshire, England, where he was treated by nurse Rachel Coombes.

The 42-year-old fell in love with the puppy and told her colleagues that she would adopt him, and later brought him into her home.

“I just felt a connection as soon as he was brought in, as he was in such a state.”

“He hasn’t looked back since—and is having the best of life right now. He enjoys running around the garden and going to the beach.

“He has formed a close bond with my son Stanley and will always be there by his side.”

After Terry was brought into the vets in November 2021, the vet discovered the white of his left eye and his lips were both bruised. Three of his upper incisors were missing and another tooth was broken.

I Thought They Outgrew This

Family here. One getting a bath. It sounded like the water was running a long time to me. Then the dreaded call "There's no hot water." On a Sunday, the day before Christmas.

With thoughts that it would be Wednesday before I could get a new heating element, I cut the power and checked. Both elements were good. I had suspected only one was burned out, but both were intact and not grounded out. At that point the water had warmed up, so couldn't check the thermostats. Reassembled and turned the power back on.

Conclusion: One person had used all the hot water. One person.

Now all I have to contend with is a burned out oven element, which went as I was checking the water heater. That will be a part I'll have to order.

Missouri lawmakers anticipate challenges in 2024 after record-breaking budget and declining revenue projections

The state of Missouri is expecting a decline in general revenue in 2024 following a record-setting budget approved earlier this year.

The projections leave some lawmakers concerned about the state’s future.

It’s a constitutional requirement for the General Assembly to pass a balanced budget by May.

Over the past few years, lawmakers have approved income tax cuts, and counties can now freeze property taxes for seniors. These cuts are causing concern for some.

Earlier this year, Gov. Mike Parson signed off on the largest budget in state history, which included nearly $3 billion to expand Interstate 70 to three lanes across the state.

“I argue if you can put the taxes back into the taxpayer’s pocket, they are going to spend the money,” said [state house speaker] Plocher. “They are going to be able to afford those necessary items, food, shelter, cars, things like that, that just go back into the economy and employ more Missourians.”

But they are not going to be able to expand interstate 70.

Christmas already......

Greetings from Australia, where it is 2.15 am on the eastern coast. Australia does not have the spiritual heritage of many other countries. However, we have yet to succumb to the awful "Happy Holidays" that emanates from America. So I hope and pray that everyone has a joyful Christmas.

Concerning Chinese, Japanese and Korean Christianity

This thread is a reply to certain posts concerning Chinese Christianity in my thread on potentially heterodox parishes and local churches, as this formed the basis of an interesting discussion with @bbbbbbb @MarkRohfrietsch and @FireDragon76 which was off-topic to the previous thread:

Blatant interference by foreign missionaries in China is not a good idea if you care about a Christian witness there. It is a settled matter among longstanding Christian groups in China, that foreign missionaries endanger Christian mission. That is why the national Protestant church is called the "Three Self Church". This predates Communism, and has to do with the Chinese peoples' desire to uphold self-sufficiency in all matters, including religion.

What I care about is the restoration of religious freedom.

The fact is, by the way, that Christianity is a foreign religion in China, and always will be of foreign origin, but so is Buddhism, which is one of the four “traditional” Chinese religions (the others being Taoism, Confucianism, and Chinese Folk Religion, which influenced Confucianism and is largely administered by Taoist clergy - Confucianism is also completely suppressed in the PRC and is only freely practiced in Taiwan, the diaspora, and, for the time being, in the Hong Kong and Macau SARs, and who knows how long that will last given that the treaties requiring the autonomy of those regions as a prerequisite to their surrender to mainland China are, unsurprisingly, but disappointingly, being completely ignored by the brutal dictatorship of Xi Jinping, yet no meaningful sanctions are being applied to China, just as no sanctions are being applied to Azerbaijan for what they are doing to the Armenians. It seems like the world will tolerate any abuse as long as Christians are the victims, but I digress. Speaking of which, Islam is massive in China, but more people are outraged by the Chinese human rights violations against the Muslims in Western China than they are by the human rights violations against Christians throughout the entirety of China.

At any rate, it should be stressed that mainland China, from a missionary perspective, was first served by the Church of the East, until the genocide of Tamerlane and his sons killed off all members of that church in China, Mongolia, Tibet, Central Asia, the island of Socotra off the south coast of Yemen, and everywhere else outside the Fertile Crescent and Malankara, so that only the Assyrian and the Nasrani / Mar Thoma Christian ethnic groups remained. Later, northern China was evangelized with considerable success by the Russians, with the last Orthodox bishop of Shanghai, St. John Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco, being much venerated among the Orthodox Christians. Additionally, the Anglicans did a superb job in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and the Roman Catholics in Macau.

Probably due to the Sino-Soviet split, the Chinese Orthodox Church was completely suppressed, and there is no Orthodox equivalent of the state-run “Patriotic Catholic Association” or its Protestant counterpart, and tragically the beautiful Orthodox cathedral in Harbin is a museum. Hopefully the improved relation between Russia and the PRC might change this, but it has not thus far, and I am not holding my breath. My view is that the northern portion of mainland China ought to be regarded as the canonical territory of the Russian Orthodox Church (since the Church of Japan is also an autonomous part of the Moscow Patriarchate), whereas the southern portion and Tibet ought to be regarded as the canonical territory of the Assyrian Church of the East, which fortunately has a very good relationship with the Moscow Patriarchate, and the Christian community in the former British and Portuguese colonies and surrounding regions on the West Coast ought to be jointly administered by a united Anglican-Methodist-Presbyterian-Congregationalist church modeled on the Church of South India, the Church of North India and the Church of Pakistan, and the Roman Catholic Church (provided Fidelis Supplicans is revoked), until such time as the blissful state of religious freedom currently enjoyed in Taiwan can be introduced to mainland China, or alternately, a Christian government emerges in China which can suppress the pagan religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, etc.

I am, to be clear, calling for direct foreign leadership of the churches in mainland China, as the ideal solution for a transitional period, in order to ensure that certain doctrinal errors such as the Prosperity Gospel are eradicated, and at the same time to protect Chinese Christianity from the unscriptural permissiveness towards homosexuality which seems to be overtaking all of the Western denominations, even the Roman Catholic church. And I am also suggesting that the suppression of the heathen religions of China would be desirable, if possible, since, while some may disagree, I do not believe that false religions benefit a society once Christianity has been introduced. The only reason why religious freedom is desirable is it prevents a situation such as happened in some Western European countries such as the Netherlands and Geneva where state control of religion resulted in people being forced to abandon traditional Christianity or worship in secret. And it can be argued that the Golden Rule compels religious freedom, although this point is debatable, however, I myself do support religious freedom to a point (the problem being where you have dangerous cults such as the Wahhabist movement within Sunni Islam, or the Jafari movement in Shia Islam, both of which are comfortable engaging in terrorism, and also Scientology, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and more extreme cases such as the Rajneeshis who terrorized rural Oregon in the 1980s and were responsible for the first bioterror attacks in US history).

Bored with the church enamored with Israel

I notice that many dear Christians seem to have rather given up on the church
and are enamored with prophecy about Israel.

When the kingdom of God in the millennium is brought up they run to Daniel and the OT
and go on and on about promises to Israel.

When Revelation or Matthew is discussed MOST of their understanding in influenced by OT prophecy about Israel.
I do not under estimate the importance of God keeping His promises to Israel.

But this ignoring and under appreciating the church is not good.
Why give up in boredom on the glorious church?

She is God's eternal purpose and Christ's bride and wife. (Eph. 5:25-27)
She is "the pillar and base of the truth" (1 Tim. 3:15)

ALAN DERSHOWITZ: Read The Letter Harvard’s Student Paper Won’t Publish

It’s a telling irony the paper that reassured its readers “Free speech is the guiding principle of this Editorial Board” refuses to publish a letter calling for less censorship and viewpoint discrimination on campus.
That reflects Harvard’s double-standard approach to free speech: contextual free speech for the enemies of Jews and their state; censorship for supporters of Israel and critics of Harvard.
He nailed it.

Is God interested in our health?

God is very interested in our spiritual health so would He not be interested in our physical health.?

1Corinthians 3: 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Genesis 7: 1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

So God told Noah about the clean and unclean animals and then told Moses about them.

Exodus 15: 26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Does God care more about the Israelites than the Gentiles?

HAKKA

Han Chinese, Hakka in China

Rev. T. H. Hamburg and Rudolf Lechler were the first missionaries sent out by the Basel Mission. They arrived in China in 1846 to commence work among the Hakka. They experienced great success, and by 1922 the Hakka Christians numbered 30,000. Today, most of the estimated 150,000 Hakka Christians in China are located in southern Guangdong. In the 1800s the Taiping leader Chung Wang, a Hakka, pleaded for missionaries to have patience with his people. "You have had the Gospel for upwards of 1,800 years; we only, as it were, eight days. Your knowledge of it ought to be correct and extensive, ours must necessarily be limited and imperfect. You must therefore bear with us for the present, and we will gradually improve. We are determined to uproot idolatry, and plant Christianity in its place."

Han Chinese, Hui'an in China

Christianity

There are several Catholic, Three-Self, and house churches among the Hui'an Chinese. Although Fujian has one of the largest Christian populations in China, the Hui'an have generally proven more resistant to the gospel than the several other Chinese groups throughout the province.

True Pic: Herod's grandson from 2000 years ago. 1500 Protestant churches closed in 2019 before the pandemic- Lifeway Research. Reverse it this way:

(The image is below-backed up by Oxford University.)King Herod Agrippa the First is the grandson of King Herod the Great-the one who wanted baby Jesus killed. Herod Agrippa I was the last Jewish king who ruled over Jerusalem and Judea. Acts 12 mentions "Herod" killing the Apostle James, but it is talking about Herod Agrippa the First.
Acts 12; About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2 He killed James the brother of John with the sword, 3 and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread. 4 And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.(ESV)

We can be 100 percent confident that Acts-and the entire Word-is accurate and true by faith of course. And since most Christians have some-even a tiny bit- doubt, evidence is also given for edification. Jesus told us that the Great Commandment is to love the Lord God with all our strength, heart, soul and mind.

-Even in the famous Gospel passage of Paul's in 1 Corinthians 15, he reveals to us that 500 people saw the risen Jesus at the same time. The apostle is giving evidence for the resurrection.

This -below-is the authentic image of King Herod Agrippa I. It can be used freely for any educational purpose -even sent to an unlimited number of people/seats.

( A license like this could normally be a thousand dollars or far more for an image[especially involving use by multiple seats(i.e. different churches/organizations) so if you want, please make good use of this rare opportunity. Other coin images I have put on this forum, cannot be sent to an unlimited people/ seats.) The Oxford Handbook of Greek and Roman Coinage can be referenced because they authenticate a very similar coin. The renowned late Roman historian Michael Grant pleaded with Christians to use numismatics(coin science) to prove the Bible.

1500 Protestant churches closed in America in 2019-a year before the pandemic( Lifeway Research.)
Protestant Church Closures Outpace Openings in U.S. - Lifeway Research
Dr. Paul Elliot, the Bible Literacy Centre and Barna Research showed in 2011 that 75 percent of Evangelical youth leave the Christian faith. (Josh Mcdowell says it's 80 percent.) Their main reason stated is that they no longer believe the Bible is true and no one in Church has answered their doubts.
Never has it been simpler to edify the Christian church-going kids/youth/adults. But one actually has to do it. I give an example in the "Stones Cry out " link of how it has worked for me with a youth from the Bible-belt who was crying because her friends told her the Bible was myth. I also give free pics of proven 2700 year-old images of
Isaiah 36:1-2. A pastor friend is using these proven pics to keep his flock in Christ lifelong. It works because Roman 10:17 proclaims: " So faith comes from hearing, and hearing the Word of God." These proven images are pictures of the Word of God.
Can Stones Cry?

Thank you so much for spending time for reading literally my 2 cents. Thanks for your replies(remember youth are peeking in from the web.)

Merry Christmas/Happy Christmas
Thank you and praises to you forevermore Lord Jesus for loving the Church and I with all of your heart, soul and strength!

The Miracle Dog

This is a story my cousin told me. Her mother was hospitalized with heart problems and she was at her side constantly while her husband was at the grocery store. Her husband was loading the groceries into his car when a strange dog came out of nowhere and jumped into the car. He tried everything to get rid of the dog and he couldn't do it, if he physically threw the dog out it would just turn right around and jump in the other door. Finally he came to the conclusion that he was not going to get rid of this dog and they were going to have to keep it as a pet! He drove home with the dog in the passenger seat and as soon as they got home it jumped out, as soon as my cousin saw it she gasped! The dog had a great big heart on one side of it, in it's markings! She took this as a sign from God that her mother would recover, and soon enough she did! The dog has since passed away but I got to see it, there really was a perfect heart shape on one side! My cousin has a tremendous prophetic gift and things like this happen on a regular basis! The picture of the dog is below

Principals from Space-Time in the Bible

X, Y, Z space flows through T time to form the 4 dimensional Space-Time Continuum. Each of us is an “observer”, always located at a single point in Space-Time known as an event. All the events in your lifetime, including birthdays and graduations, are assigned coordinates on a map of Space-time, a single point designated by Width(x), Height(y), Depth(z), and Time(t). The path we are on throughout our lives, called a Wordline, consists of a series of connected events forming a path in space-time from birth to death. Once you have discovered the “Wordline” for an object or even a person it cannot be changed, it is the complete “story” of it's or their lives. Everything that has ever happened to you is located on coordinates in the space-time continuum in your Wordline, from your first day in kindergarten, to that test you failed in grade school, to your first car, to when you got married, to the day you die, everything you do. The bible says that we will each be judged after we die based on the things we have done in our lives. Could this be the spiritual equivalent to the “Wordline” in the laws of physics? If we are on the wrong “path” in life (the Wordline) we can choose to repent and change our Wordline for the better! In physics the Wordline cannot be changed, it takes a miracle to do that (salvation)!

Chinese-linked firm building near US military bases: Report

A new report claims a firm owned by a Chinese company that is planning to construct a manufacturing facility near multiple U.S. military bases in the Midwest has well-established ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

According to a report by The Daily Caller, which is based on research by Heritage Action and The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project, Cnano Technology USA Inc. (Cnano USA) is planning to build a 333,000-square-foot facility located in Johnson County, Kansas. The facility will be used to manufacture parts used in electric vehicles batteries and other products.

The Daily Caller reported that the new $95 million manufacturing facility will be located roughly 35 miles from Fort Leavenworth and about 70 miles from Whiteman Air Force Base.

Cnano USA is owned by C-Nano Technology Co., Ltd., which was launched by Cnano Jiangsu Technology Co., Ltd. (Cnano Jiangsu), a China-based organization, according to an annual report published by Cnano Jiangsu in 2022.

The Daily Caller reported that Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 social responsibility report shows that dozens of CCP members are employed by the company. Additionally, the company’s website shows it has “undertaken a number of national 863” projects, which The Daily Caller said is a reference to a program by the Chinese government that has been accused of being used to steal U.S. technology.

Rhino Finds Love at First Sight When He’s Matched to Help Save a Species–And the Video Will Touch Your Heart

A black rhino looks like it has found a mate in time for the holidays—and, in time to help save a species.

The 4-year-old, which was born on Christmas Eve in 2019, has just reached maturity after being moved from a zoo in Lansing, Michigan to a newly designed home in Palm Desert, California.

Newly captured videos shows the triumphant day when Jaali was first introduced to Nia—a female black rhino from the Cleveland Zoo that was also moved following a match-making appeal from the Association of Zoo and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan.

Their first interactions are precious, but also critical. African Black Rhinos are classified as critically endangered and the pair’s new caretakers at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens are devoutly committed to the conservation of this species.

“This first introduction between Jaali and Nia is the culmination of 4 years of habitat design research and construction to build the perfect home for this pair of endangered black rhinos,” said Allen Monroe, the zoo’s president.

The California team hopes that, with a little luck—and after a 15-month gestation period—they will have at least one more to add to the species’ diminished numbers.

God Speaks through the cat

Something that happened- Years ago while I was still living in my parent's house I was in my room sitting on the bed praying and the cat was sleeping on the bed behind me. Suddenly I felt a paw tap me on the shoulder, I turned around and the cat looked right at me and said a loud "RAAARR!" I think God was trying to get my attention! I think God spoke through the cat! Maybe this was God's sense of humor?

High rates of depression in Iran

Hi everyone, something interesting- apparently Iran, the islamic republic of Iran, has very high rates of clinical depression, something like 15%-20% of Iranians have symptoms ranging from mild to severe depression. In contrast rates of depression in the USA are around 8.3%, much lower. There is a good reason for this! I think a spiritual force may be responsible for this, Iran is one of the most evil places in the world, also they adhere to a very radical form of Islam and Islam is the official state religion and the country is something like 99.5% muslim, conversion from Islam to Christianity carries the death penalty. Also the Iranian government hates Israel and that also may be a cause for this!
