Ted Cruz endorses Donald Trump for president

After seeing the Iowa results, Cruz said Trump had clearly won the GOP nomination. He called on Republicans to unite behind Trump to focus on beating President Joe Biden.
“At this point, I think the contrast needs to be on substance and policy and records,” Cruz said. Cruz criticized Biden’s handling of border security and called for a crackdown on illegal immigration, which has an outsized impact on Texas, he said. Cruz, and other GOP leaders across the country, routinely attack Biden’s immigration policies.

May the best man win.

Prayer for Israel

I'm asking for prayer for Israel that no weapon form against Israel would prosper and every tongue that rises up against Israel in judgement be condemned. I'm asking for prayer that the Lord would stop Hamas and those that would want to see Israel destroyed from attacking them and He would bring peace in this situation and defend Israel from it's enemies. Thank you for all of your prayer.

marriage is hard

so today was a horrible day.. my husband and I had a huge argument in the morning because I told him that hes hurting our son everytime he tries to talk to his dad, my husband says "sh" or "stop" and our son (age 3) gets really sad and starts crying and comes to me when im suppoesd to be working on my schoolwork, which i get up at 5am to do so that it doesnt interfere with my time with the kids and cooking/cleaning. maybe i shouldnt have said it, but i did my best saying it calmly, i rarely ever yell at him or raise my voice unless its a really bad argument. anyway, I was going to go to the store to buy groceries with the kids which was my plan since yesterday and then he told me he would cancel the card if i left and he was implying that I was going to buy alcohol (i used to have a bad drug problem before i was a christian but i havent touched drugs in 4 years almost and i did relapse drinking but that was a year ago for one day and before that it was like 6 months prior) and it made me really angry so i just left alone and he got really mad because he works from home and he got stuck with the kids. I shouldnt have left but i was so angry and he was following me around the house nonstop criticizing me and i just oculdnt take it anymore. i was trembling and i just was overloaded with stress. i had a miserable day because I keep replaying all the thigns he said to me "im tired of you. im done with you. you dont do anything. you dont keep up with the housecleaning, you get an F for a wife, your not a mother, i would fire you if i could..." he said sorry and took it all bak and i forgive him but im so angry and just hurt from all that stuff and i know i messed up too by leaving i was gone for like an hour but im just freaking hurt. my heart aches and my soul is just in utter suffering. i dont have friends. i wish so bad i had one friend. since i sobered up, i had to get rid of all my freinds because i only wanted to be around christians and get away from the bad drug scene. i never made friends after that. as much as i try... they are always just shallow surface talk-about-the-weather kind of aquaintances from church where i have to put a straight face like everythign is perfect. i feel so freakign alone. i hate myself sometimes for even allowing myself to get so out of control and crying and negative mentality and letting sadness overtake me. i have a lot of attachment issues from my childhood and i know that plays a role, i have always since i was a kid felt unloved, unwanted, misunderstood, and im just so sick of myself already I jsut want to be with Jesus so He can take all this pain away and wipe the tear from my face. my husband always shuts me up, never listens to me like just to be a listenign ear for mypain, tells me to be quiet when im crying and rolls his eyes at me when i tell him i feel emotionally neglected. its like the pain never ends. jsut to be clear i am NOT suicidal in anyway... i just want the pain to stop. i want stronger faith, i want to be better at cleanign the house and everythig beign sparkling clean but its impossible without giving up my time with the kids and prioritizing taking them to the park and making sure they are happy. i do laundry and i do organize everyday, i clean the house in sections so its never full 100 clean. for example, i do the bathrooms deep cleainging one day and then the floors another day and deep clean the kitchen another day..etc.. and basic organizing throughout each day. im so exhausted. i just want to be heard and seen and loved. i know Jesus can do all these thigns. i beg and pray but the feelings always come back. why cant i just be stronger, not this friendless loser that nobody appreciates. im so sorry to sound so negative and self-depricating. i dont feel well at all today. pray for me please. and il pray too. tell me you hear me if you read this. :( anyone out there, please just see me... btw, i only said the bad stuff my husband does, but he is actually a really good husband but not when hes mad or feelign depressed or when we fight its bad, but dont think hes bad. hes a good husabnd.... he just struggles sometimes just like me. im not any better than he is.

The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.

The nations were in uproar and now the time has come for your retribution, and for the dead to be judged, and for your servants the prophets, for the saints and for those who fear your name, small and great alike, to be rewarded. The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.'
[Rev 11:18]

Who would they be, these ones who are destroying the earth?

UFO Phenomenon?

Hi everyone- what is your take on the UFO phenomenon? Is it aliens? A demonic deception? Or are they a super-secret US military aircraft? Personally I would be willing to bet almost anything that these UFOs they are seeing are not aliens but an ultra deep-black US military aircraft. Back in the 1940's the Nazi Germans were working on anti-gravity, there is absolutely no telling what they have got now! There are rumors going around on the internet that the US government is in possession of an aircraft with an anti-gravity drive called the TR3B-A and they have already had this thing out to orbit around Neptune and back. The idea that these UFOs are aliens are the perfect cover-story for the US government, if everyone is convinced these are aliens they will not know that the US government is violating their airspace and spying on them! Our government may have things that are so secret even the president of the united states does not know about them, the only people that know about them are the people that are working on them, probably out at Area 51.

I also believe that some of the phenomenon with aliens is a demonic deception, I have heard stories about people that thought they were being abducted by aliens in their bedroom at night and they cried out to God and instantly it stopped and they were back in their bed unharmed! Back in the middle ages people thought this phenomenon was witches, but now in modern times it has switched to aliens.

Trump wins Iowa caucuses: A Catholic look at the results

(OSV News) — Former President Donald Trump won the Iowa caucuses Jan. 15, according to multiple projections, marking his first electoral victory in a contest he has led in polling.

Early projections showed former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — the remaining Catholic candidate in the race — battling for second place with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy coming in a distant fourth place.

The 2024 Iowa caucuses came amid a blizzard in the state that stymied travel plans and events for some candidates in the closing stretch of the race. The blizzard was so severe that Bishop William M. Joensen granted a general dispensation from the Sunday Mass obligation to the faithful of the Diocese of Des Moines for the Jan. 13-14 weekend.

The race was called for Trump before caucus meetings had concluded in some precincts.

States may hold either primaries or caucuses in the presidential nomination process, with the latter type of contest often requiring voters to attend caucus meetings, rather than simply voting. To secure the Republican nomination, a candidate needs to win 1,215 delegates.

Practical religion

Victor Hugo wrote Les Misérables, it is a book about justice become cruel, a society grown harsh, prisons about punishment and suffering, and that offers no path to redemption. Yet in the story is a bishop, the good bishop, who - while poor himself - gives all the wealth he has to redeem a thief.

What do you think of it?

Psalm 50-Sung in Aramaic

Login to view embedded media Login to view embedded media A psalm of David

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy kindness:
According to the abundance of thy mercies, blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done what is evil in thy sight: So that You are justified when You speak, And blameless when You judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy kindness: According to the abundance of thy mercies, blot out my transgressions.

Pope Francis: ‘I like to think of hell as empty’

Pope Francis appeared on Italy’s most popular prime-time talk show on Sunday night where the pontiff shared how he hopes that hell is “empty.”

Three million people in Italy tuned in to watch the nearly hourlong television interview with Pope Francis on Jan. 14 in which the pope responded to resistance to the recent Vatican declaration on same-sex blessings, previewed prospective papal trips to Polynesia and Argentina, and spoke of his fear of nuclear armageddon.

The 87-year-old pope began his appearance on the television show “Che Tempo Che Fa” by joking that he is “still alive” and has no plans to resign.

“For as long as I feel I still have the capacity to serve, I will go on. When I can no longer do it, it will be time to think about it,” Francis said.

Hell as ‘empty’?

Scotland Police Lost £5,500 for Wrongful Arrest of Preacher

Imagine a "free" country where someone being offended is enough to get you arrested. No investigation no hearing out the other side. While being cuffed the police can't even tell you what is the exact thing you said that was considered offensive. Then caught lying over the phone about their wrongful act until the you have to get a freedom of info filed against your own police force to get a straight answer. The cherry on top of the cake the police lost the suit you filed against them. One would imagine this being China or Russia or some autocratic nation but this is Scotland, UK.

£5,500 is too little for what could have ended up in prison time. IMHO the police should pay at least 10x the amount and the specific officer should be jailed for the same time as an actual hate crime. Getting away paying with tax payers' money is unacceptable. But hey UK has been a "progressive" autocratic state for some time now.

Walking by the Spirit

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:16-24 ESV)

So many professers of faith in Jesus Christ here in America today are still deliberately and habitually sinning against the Lord in these various ways mentioned here in this passage of Scripture. They are still addicted to sexual immorality, sensuality, idolatry, fits of rage, envy, drunkenness, and the like. Yet they are convinced that their salvation is secure because they make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and/or they will have all kinds of excuses for why they cannot live a morally pure life in obedience to the Lord Jesus.

And so this passage of Scripture deals with those situations.

For those of you who are full of excuses for why you cannot live morally pure, honest, and faithful lives, and so you continue in deliberate and habitual sin, the solution is that you must walk (in conduct, in practice) by the Spirit (and not according to the flesh), and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For those who continue in deliberate and habitual sin against the Lord are not walking by the Spirit, but they are still walking according to the flesh, to please the passions of the flesh.

And this is because their lives are not under Holy Spirit control but they are still under the control of the flesh. Their lives are not surrendered to Jesus Christ to do his will, and they are not living in submission to Christ as Lord (Owner-Master). For they have not truly died with Christ to sin, and they are not daily dying to sin and living to God and to his righteousness. And they are not walking in obedience to his commands and following him wherever he leads them, for they are still in control over their own lives.

And thus many of them are doing what they call “struggling” with sin, which usually means that they are habitually yielding to the flesh and giving in to the desires of the flesh and they are doing the exact opposite of what they know that they should be doing. But this will go on in the lives of many who profess faith in Jesus Christ and who are convinced that their sinful addiction will not impact their relationship with God and their salvation and their hope of eternal life with God. So this passage deals with that, too.

Not only does this let us know that the way out of sinful addiction is for us to surrender our lives over to the Lord to walk in his ways, and in his truth, but it lets us know clearly that if sins such as these are what we practice (our habit) and not righteousness, and not obedience to our Lord, we will not inherit eternal life with God, regardless of what our lips profess or we are convinced of that we believe about Jesus in our hearts. And so this serves as a warning to us to not let sin overtake us but to follow the ways of God.

And then if we are walking by the Spirit, and no longer according to the flesh, and we are living to please our Lord, and not our flesh, and sin is no longer our practice, but righteousness and obedience to our Lord, then our lives should reflect the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. For those who truly belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires and they have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him.

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

So, don’t let the fear of man or the influence of (humans) keep you from obeying the Lord. Don’t let what others do impact what you do and how you live. And if you are walking by the Spirit and not according to the flesh, do not fear what other humans might do to you or say about you just because they don’t like it that you are no longer walking in sin but that you are now living holy and godly lives in the power of God for his will. Just keep obeying the Lord and keep sharing your testimony of God’s saving grace.

Why Are You Afraid?

An Original Work / December 5, 2013
Based off Various Scriptures

Do not be afraid.
Your Lord is always by your side.
Serve the Lord in righteousness
Before Him all your days.

Those who hate the light
Will not come to the Lord.
They fear their deeds
Might be noticed.
So, they hate the light,
And they embrace the night.

Do not be afraid,
Although your enemy attacks.
Dare to share your testimony
Of God’s saving grace.

Do not fear their threats,
But honor Christ, your Lord.
Be prepared to give an answer
For the hope you have,
With gentleness; respect.

Why are you afraid?
For all that’s hidden will be shown.
What I tell you, speak in daylight.
Let the truth be known.

Do not be afraid
Of those who’ll take your life.
Fear the Lord with understanding.
Trust Him with your life,
And give not up to strife.

Do not be afraid.
Take courage, it is I, your Lord.
Bow before Me; now adore Me.
Oh, why do you doubt?

Listen to the Lord.
Get up and bear His name!
Run and tell the world He loves them.
Jesus came to save.
Give Him your all today.

First-World Persecution: Implications for Moral Theology

We are all aware of increasing persecution of Christians for expressing scriptural truth about homosexuality, trans-sexual mutilation, abortion, euthanasia and other issues which have been adopted by certain “progressive” governments, media and major corporations, for example, this incident involving QANTAS who I will definitely not be flying with on my upcoming trip to Australia, not that there are any really superior airlines (years ago, I remember Alaska Airlines would serve a prayer card with meals, I received one while flying First Class with them to Seattle in March of 2006, which was a lovely flight, on an MD-80, which in Alaska Airlines service had particularly nice interiors, and which I always enjoyed flying, but I would be surprised if they still do that, however, the conduct of QANTAS was particularly terrible in that case). Or in some cases simply for being Christian; there was recently a firestorm of hate launched on X formerly known as Twitter against a YouTube content creator known as Wendigoon simply because of his well-known Christian faith, in an effort to “cancel” him.

In some instances, distressingly, the persecution seems to be of conservative clergy by hierarchs in their own church.

My desire is to post a thread in General Theology to discuss specific instances of these persecutions and the theological response, since in all cases we know those who suffer for Christ our True God will be rewarded.

Now there are controversial instances that are edge cases, and some groups like Westboro Baptist Church actually aided the opposition by engaging in very nasty protesting at the funerals of deceased soldiers who had nothing to do with sexual immorality. In general, my goal is not to dwell on these edge cases, nor on the eschatological implications of this persecution, but rather on the subject as an issue of moral theology.

Specifically, I would like to review any instances you have heard of involving the potential or actual persecution of Christians for their beliefs, whether by online groups, businesses or other organizations, governments or their own churches for teaching and practicing traditional Christianity. I also have a particularly complex issue of moral theology I would like to discuss, ideally if someone happens to post a similar case they are familiar with.

How pro-Hamas rhetoric infected US high schools

Indeed, the examples of textbooks being used in classrooms nationwide promoting anti-Zionist and antisemitic tropes remain innumerable.
World History: Patterns of Interaction (McDougal Littell, a division of Houghton Mifflin Company 2009): page 1019“While the United Nations granted the Palestinians their own homeland, the Israelis seized most of that land, including the West Bank and Gaza, during its various wars.”
This is false. In 1948 the United Nations partitioned Palestine according to UN Resolution 181 between Arabs and Jews.
World History: Patterns of Interaction (McDougal Littell, a division of Houghton Mifflin Company 2009): page 270“Because the Qur’an forbade forced conversion, Muslims allowed conquered peoples to follow their own religion.” This is false. Those who were conquered by the Muslim empire became its citizens. Forced conversions were routine. The only other choices were exile, death, or a heavy tax.

We need school choice so this kind of propaganda is not forced on our children.
