The only problem with that teaching is that there is only seven days in the week not eight and God has only blessed and made holy the seventh day according to the scriptures *Genesis 2:1-3 which he commands us to keep as a holy day of rest *Exodus 20:8-11.

Six days shall you labor and on the seventh rest. He didn’t say on the seventh day of the week, he was referring to the seventh day after the six days or work. So if I work Monday-Saturday that’s six days and the seventh day would be Sunday. Now I know what your thinking, every time the Bible mentions the “seventh day” it’s referring to the seventh day of the week. What day was Jesus resurrected on? The scriptures say He was resurrected on “the third day” but we know He died on a Friday so obviously the term “the third day” isn't referring to Tuesday. The term “the third day” was referring to how many days after His death just like the seventh day in Exodus 20 is referring to the seventh day after the six days of work.

What day is the first day? The week started at creation on the first day and work ended on the sixth day. Genesis 1 God rested on the seventh day blessed and sanctified the day for holy use Genesis 2:1-3. This is the week and has never changed from the very beginning of time. Isn't God so good to preserve His Word for us so we can obey His commandments?

Jesus rising doesn't change the week from creation.

Jesus rose early on the first day Mark 16:9 which could have been what we call Saturday evening (after Sabbath) or early in the morning on the first day.

Then you would have gone hungry for one day each week for 40 years had you been traveling with Moses in the wilderness following God as he specifically led the people and specifically rained down manna on every day but one each week.

Ex 16 "TOMORROW IS the Sabbath" is followed by Ex 20:8-11 "the seventh day IS the Sabbath"

On the first day of the week. That’s what Mark 16:9 specifically says. Shabbat can also mean a week when used in that way. First of Shabbat means the first day of the week. My point was that the scriptures state that Jesus rose on the third day and that phrase “the third day” didn’t refer to Tuesday it referred to the third day after His death just like the phrase “on the seventh day” can also refer to the seventh day after working six days, not necessarily the seventh day of the week.

This is irrelevant today because we don’t rely on God to rain down manna for food. Also I’m not an Israelite, I’m a gentile.

true - "the seventh day of the feast" etc. or "The seventh day of the month". But the week is set by the Sabbath alone - there is no other metric for it. And the Sabbath commandment in Ex 20 follows the statement "tomorrow IS the Sabbath" in a scenario where no food was showing up on that very day of the week.

it is relevant because an exact day was kept as "the seventh day" not just "pick anyone you like". God had an exact day in Gen 2:1-3, and Ex 20:11 says it was that very - exact... day. that is the Sabbath

Ex 16 "Tomorrow IS the Sabbath"

Gen 2:1-3
And so the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their heavenly lights. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Ex 20:11
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Also I’m not an Israelite, I’m a gentile.

So say we all - but as it turns out both Jews and gentiles are humans - members of mankind.

"Sabbath was made for mankind" Mark 2:27.
"from Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL MANKIND come before Me to worship" Is 66:23

Almost all Christians on the Earth admit that the "first day of the week" is Sunday and that this is when Jesus was raised from the dead. So while you are free to select any view you wish - the issue is essentially settled. Even the Jews admit to it. the "first day of the week" is Sunday leaving no ambiguity at all about the 7th day.

According to Scripture, Christ died on Friday, the sixth day of the week, and rose on Sunday, the first day of the week.

"This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near" (Luke 23:52-54). This is strong evidence that Jesus died the day directly before the Sabbath. It was called "the preparation day" because it was the time to get ready for the Sabbath.

Let's now look at the next few verses: "And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment" (vv. 55, 56). Please notice that the women rested over the Sabbath "according to the commandment." The commandment says, "The seventh day is the Sabbath" (Exodus 20:10), so we know they were observing the seventh day (Saturday).

The very next verse says, "Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb" (Luke 24:1, 2).

Jesus died on Friday, the preparation day, the sixth day of the week. He rested in the tomb, "according to the commandment," on Saturday, the Sabbath, the seventh day of the week. And then Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday.

The week has never changed from Creation. The first day will always be the first day and the seventh day will always be the Lord’s Holy Sabbath day, which according to God is on the seventh day. Exodus 20:10

Friday is when He was crucified and in three days He would rise (on the first day) Mark 16:9. The third day represents in three days He would be persecuted, crucified resting and risen. On the third day (of Him being crucified) He rose.

I know that, that’s my whole point. The term “on the third day” does not refer to the third day of the week. It did not mean on Tuesday it meant the third day after His death. That’s why I’m saying that the term “on the seventh day” doesn’t have to refer to the seventh day of the week it can also refer to the seventh day after six days of work. I get the fact that God specifically chose which day the Jews were to keep as a sabbath but I’m not a Jew and Gentiles were never told what specific day of the week to rest. In Romans 14 Paul said that we don’t have to honor God on any particular day and in Colossians 2:16 he said we don’t have to observe the sabbath days. So I can still keep the commandment given in Exodus 20:10-11 by resting on Sunday.

Creation is from the beginning. God created the days from the beginning. The first day will always be the first day and the seventh day will always be the Sabbath according to God. Exodus 20:10

Seems like you're making three different arguments 1. you don't know when the seventh day Sabbath is and it can be any day, but that's not what God says. Exodus 20:10, Genesis 2:1-3

Then you go into, well the Sabbath is just for the Jews and follow-up with the annual feast days in Col 2:14 that are ordinances and handwritten by Moses and confusing that with the Sabbath commandment that is a commandment Exodus 20:8-11 Exodus 20 and finger-written by God.Exodus 31:18

Jesus clears up any confusion on the Sabbath and says the Sabbath is made for mankind (anthrōpon) Mark 2:27. Mankind was made on the sixth day Genesis 1:26 before Jew or Gentile, just man. The Sabbath is never called the Sabbath of the Jews. God always takes ownership of the Sabbath and He calls it the Sabbath of the Lord thy God Exodus 20:10 and My holy day Isaiah 58:13. I don't think God could have made it more clearer. God commanded us to keep His Sabbath holy Exodus 20:8-11, because it is the same day that is holy to Him since creation Genesis 2:1-3 and we are made in His image, to follow Him. When we follow what God commands, it shows we place our trust in Him and not our own works. We cannot save or sanctify ourselves God does that through His Sabbath and though His Word. John 17:17, Ezekiel 20:12

There is no Jew or Gentile just one in Christ through faith. Galatians 3:26-29. There is only one God and one people. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

I don't know about you, but I want to be one of God's people and God identifies His people as keeping His Sabbath day holy. On earth and in heaven. Ezekiel 20:12, Ezekiel 20:20, Isaiah 58:13-14, Exodus 20:8-11, Hebrews 4:9-10, Isaiah 56, Isaiah 66:23

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Colossians 2:16 is not about feast days it’s the same message he gave in Romans 14.

“Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1-6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Both the dietary laws and observing the Lord on a certain day are no longer an obligation for us. That’s exactly what Paul is saying in both Colossians 2:16 and Romans 14. Of course your Old Testament verses are going to say to keep the sabbath because the New Covenant had not been revealed yet just like the Old Testament will also say that you must be circumcised and offer sin and peace sacrifices but all that was also abolished in the New Covenant. Nothing in the Old Testament said that we would no longer need to observe the Passover, or that sin and peace offerings and circumcision would be done away with, because it hadn’t been revealed yet. I guarantee you that if Paul had said we must keep the sabbath in Colossians 2:16 then you wouldn’t be saying that he was referring to the feast days.

In reference to Hebrews 4 you need to consider verse 3. Those who believe have entered into His rest.

1. Neither Col 2 nor Rom 14 mentions the weekly Sabbath - unlike Acts 13, Acts 17 and Acts 18 which all do specifically mention it.

2. Matt 7 "judge not that you be not judged" is an OT rule at the time of Christ - unchanged in Col 2. Still the same rule.

Neither Rom 14 nor Col 2 is about ending or deleting any text of scripture.

Col 2 is specifically about avoiding man made traditions invented by humans as opposed to the actual Word of God.

Two great examples of saying nothing at all about "the third day of the week".

Rather as Luke 24 states "today is the third day since all these things happened" rather than "The third day of the week". The context for the term -- matters.

Luke 24: 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.

So how in the world does that get "lifted out" of its context to make a "third day" case?

Hebrews 4:3 is a correlation to Hebrews 4:6 and the topic is obedience in reference to Hebrews 4:9-10. We can never get true context by just a verse in a passage much like Col 2:14-16 and Romans 14.

We have already been through these discussions, so looks like we will have to just agree to disagree and wish you well in seeking His Word. :)

God bless.

That verse in Matthew 7 is about being a hypocrite. He’s telling them not to judge others for doing things that they themselves do. That’s why it’s immediately followed by “before you worry about the speck in your friend’s eye, get the beam out of your own eye.”

I don’t understand your question.
