JAMES in the NEW COVENANT says that if we break any one of God's 10 Commandments we stand guilty before GOD of SIN. *JAMES 2:10-11; as does JOHN *1 JOHN 3:4. PAUL say God's 10 Commandments when broken give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7.

God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. According to God's WORD, ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD *PHILIPPIANS 2:13. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

    CONCLUSION?

HEBREWS 4:9 SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH

    Hope this helps

Hello brother it is God's WORD not mine. Your using your own words to argue with God's WORD so your argument is with God not me. Did you have any scriptures to share in relation to the OP?

Forgive me brother James. My intention is not to shout if that is how you have interpreted my posting style but simply to highlight words. I am not shouting at any one here.

    God bless

My comment about the weekend simply comes from worship practices of Early Christianity that are carried into modern times by folks like Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and certain Anglicans and Episcopalians and the alike. I'm not directly quoting Paul. But the weekend exists because early Christians tended to treat both the Jewish Sabbath and the Day of the Lord (Resurrection) as sacred (They would have church services Friday evening and on Saturday, besides on Sunday. Often Saturday was used as a preparatory day for Sunday, especially if that was a big feast day like Easter/Pascha were new believers were baptized and so on.).

I was thinking maybe the Lord's day could be the Passover, [which is when the Roman army encompassed Jerusalem 70ad]

Here was the Passover for the Hebrews:

    Exodus 12:
23 And Yahweh passes to strike the Egyptians and He sees the blood on the lintel and on two of the jambs and Yahweh passes-over<6452 pacach> the portal and not He shall allow the ruiner/destroyer<07843 shachath>/<1842 oleqreuonta> to come to houses of ye to strike.
29 And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sat on the throne, to the first-born of the captive-maid in the dungeon, and the first-born of all cattle
    [Revelation 9:11 Revelation 17:16 Revelation 18:10]
    =======

Jesus warns His Jewish followers to pray their flight not be on a sabbath...why mention that?
    Was Passover a High Sabbath?

    Mat 24:20
    and pray ye that your flight may not be in winter, nor on a sabbath;

John starts off being in spirit on the Lord's Day.
    Rev 1:10
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's-day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying,

And just as in Exodus 12, the destroyer/Gentile army is sent to destroy the rebellious Jews in Israel and Jerusalem:

    Egypt is mentioned:

    Rev 11:8
and their dead bodies are upon the broad-place of the great city (that is called spiritually Sodom, and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified,)

The destroyer [gentile armies God uses to destroy 70ad Jerusalem:

    Revelation 9:11
and they are having of them a king the Messenger of the Abyss, name to him to Hebrew abaddwn <3>, and in the Greecian name is having destroyer/ruiner

    Revelation 17:
16 And the ten Horns which thou saw and the Beast, These shall be hating the Whore,
and they shall be making Her desolated<2049> and naked,
and the fleshes of Her they shall be eating<5315>
and shall be burning<2618> Her in fire.

And behold! The day Titus encompassed Jerusalem and settled on the Mount of Olives:

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover ; and it is deserving of the very particular attention of the reader, that this was the anniversary of that memorable period in which the Jews crucified their Messiah !........

    Lamentations 4:12
The kings of the earth didn't believe, neither all the inhabitants of the world,
That the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem.

Hey Codyfaith, he posts this so much to me I got it memorized. I think you understand we have a New Covenant that doesn't include his shadow law mumble jumble. In fact his shadow laws including the sabbath are done away with in Col 2:16-17 which is all one sentence.

Not really brother your mix up you shadow laws from the MOSIAC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 with God's ETERNAL LAW that gives us the KNOWLEDGE of sin when broken *ROMANS 3:20

COLOSSIANS 2 is talking about the SHADOW laws in ORDINANCES from the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 which are fulfilled in Christ as shown in the God's WORD in previous posts to you in posts # 472; post # 473; post # 482 and post # 483 linked. Please feel free to respond to these posts and all the scriptures in them if you disagree?

Your mixing up God's SHADOW laws in ORDINANCES with God's ETERNAL LAW (10 Commandments) which God's WORD says in the NEW COVENANT give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4 and leads us to Christ that we might be forgiven by faith *GALATIANS 3:22-25; ROMANS 8:1-4. If we have no law then we have no KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is and no need of a Saviour. If we have no Saviour we are lost because we still in your sins and the wages of sin is death to all those who reject the gift of Gods dear son *ROMANS 6:23.

    Hope this helps.
