Never had Netflix in my life but this really seems interesting and the type of movies or series I might check out at the library. Maybe someday they will have it.There’s an interesting period series on Netflix that looks promising. Bridgerton selected a multiracial cast for the production. The costumes are decadent!

Ughh, just don't know how to answer the question a co-worker, believer, encouragement in workouts, sort of friend. Her question had to do with how to approach her mother about covid-19 because her husband has it and she wants her to get tested to protect her grandmother. Her mom is a firm believer that God will protect from all of it.... In the end I think the best answer I could give her was that I would be keeping her in prayer because it's a tough discussion to have when someone's mind is made up. But I also think her being the daughter, that her mom might have a soft spot to hearing her and possibly doing it for her so she can rest.
I think so. I am betting that the church that they are part of teaches that you have a lack of faith if you don't trust in God's protection from this. I can't confirm it but I think that denomination most likely endorses that kind of belief.Regardless of whether this mothers believe God will ultimately protect them all from the sickness or not, I don't understand why she wouldn't want to at least get herself and others in her family tested. Like, does that demonstrate a lack of faith in God or something in her eyes? I don't get that.
Yeah, I'm not sure. I tried to look up the doctrines but couldn't see it. They attend a Sabbath keeping Church of God.The situation veers close to Christian Science teachings. It's unfortunate. They should be tested.

Yes I don't know all the ins and outs. But I have a feeling that it's more than one person, and maybe it's not the denomination itself. It could be political also. I don't know. The best thing I can do is pray and if you will pray with me I thank you.If so, then they are definitely wrong on that front. I've only heard of the Christian Science sect but never really looked into their tenets of belief, just that my beliefs in conditional immortality have been condemned a few times in the past due to conditionalism's association with a short list of other denominations that the majority of Christians seem to view as heretical such as Jehova's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists, and Chrisitans Science also seemed to be one of them that was thought to primarily believe in the conditionalist view of the human soul and what happens to the unbelievers as punishment.
Of course I always rolled my eyes at being judged or condemned by those in the past who said I must be a heretic or whatever simply because of guilt by association with JW's and SDA's and other groups who take the conditionalist view like I do, but I admit the title alone - Christian Science - always did seem sketchy to me. And I can say that if they are the type to believe that you are demonstrating a lack of faith if you act in any practical way when it comes to guarding personal health and the health of others around you, then that's definitely wrong. ... and a bit crazy.
I will. The best thing I can do is pray and if you will pray with me I thank you.

From this poem:
For Whom the Bell Tolls
by
John Donne
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
For Whom the Bell Tolls by John Donne - Your Daily Poem
I believe that is the short version.
Sorry, sometimes I am too cryptic.
Yah bless you sister.
*The bell tolling would sound the passing of someone.
Just heard that actress Dawn Wells died only a few days ago. A pity, but apparently she led a full life of 82 years, going by her biography. She was Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, and in the endless debate between fanboys on who was better, Mary Ann or Ginger, I was definitely Team Mary Ann (and I wasn't even that big a fan of the show itself).
RIP, Madam. *salutes*
I always like Ginger. I couldn’t relate to Mary Ann. I was a child then. But I drawn to a certain type. My favorite is Blair from Gossip Girls.
