Not saying I hated Ginger or anything, mind you. Just, you know, a little kid who's pretty much just discovered girls has to stand by one of his first TV crushes ever no matter what, right? ^-^

Of course. I suspect Ginger’s personality was the draw. She was confident and that quality is present in the characters I like. But they can be equally transparent and vulnerable. They’re complex. You don't realize that as a kid of course.

I liked Daphne on Scooby Doo. Definite pattern.

She was okay. But Shaggy was weird and he ate dog food. I knew something was off with that!

Also, just thought I'd bring up. Checking out this band Metropolis for the first time. Before tonight, I only knew them by their one song "Darkest Side of the Night", simply because it was the theme for Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Vancouver (I mean Manhattan =P ).

Yup, definitely reminiscent of the 80's, all right.

Just heard that actress Dawn Wells died only a few days ago. A pity, but apparently she led a full life of 82 years, going by her biography. She was Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island, and in the endless debate between fanboys on who was better, Mary Ann or Ginger, I was definitely Team Mary Ann (and I wasn't even that big a fan of the show itself ^_^ ).

RIP, Madam. *salutes*

I was meaning to ask if things were any better with her. I think I have my answer. I'm very sorry you have to contend with someone like that. :(

I've had a busy day! I did some heavy lifting this morning and tackled three closets. We've outgrown this place but I'm making the most of it until we move. I need a craft room and a studio. When you're taking photos you need props and boards and equipment. Sewing added more to the fray.

But I'm adhering to my self-care initiatives. I'm journaling, spending time with the Lord, and making some important shifts in my private life. I peeked in the group a little while ago and I'm glad I joined. My coach focuses on femininity and attitude. Their comments were a breath of fresh air. It was worth the expense.

Like most, I'm doing a dry January and avoiding takeout. We're cooking and enjoying the pleasures of preparing a meal. The little things are important. I like to focus on orderliness in the beginning of the year and reinforce my mindset.

I set my reading goal for 50 titles in 2021. When I added the numbers I was a little short. I've read 929 books in five years. I changed it to 71 to reach one thousand. A 1,000 books in 6 years. One thousand morsels. That's incredible.

Now I'm tackling sewing and design to create beautiful clothes and spaces. My Cricut and Silhouette machines are gathering dust. I think they'll get a workout in my creative group.

That's the beauty of intentional living. You don't do everything at once. The small acts add up over time. Before you know it you've learned a skill, developed a hobby, or interest.

I still have to tackle French (next year) and I'd love to play the piano. But this isn't the season for it. I'm focusing on the qualities that enhance my character, work, and companion. That's my priority.

They brought joy and laughter to so many people. I loved that show as a kid, but haven't seen it in years. Maybe I'll watch a few episodes for old time's sake.

Is it on Netflix? Maybe I should try going through the whole thing, to remember - aside from her obvious physical cuteness, of course - just why it was that I was always Team Mary Ann. ^_^

Was taking a nostalgic trip through another forum community I used to be a part of (technically still am, but the place is practically dead by now), RPGMaker Magazine. And I came across them gem of a story I once told in it's own WYOM thread. I had not thought about it in a while, but here it is, having occurred in a far-away time of my freshman year of college but a not-so-far-away place (it actually occurred just two streets east of where I live right now and type this post; although the house we lived in at the time was torn down a few years ago).

I'm taking my blue belt exam tonight. I'm going to be honest, this smug kid Noah really gets on my nerves, and after he tried every form of treachery last night during sparring, I'm tempted to just put him down again tonight and make him cry like the last time (it was an accident last time, though). And it's probably not even really his fault that he's such a know-it-all, unsportsmanly punk; his Dad's clearly way too critical of him, so he's got to put on a show of being the best in front of him.

But for some reason tae kwon do reminds me of a pain Lantis so helpfully caused me to experience with the backside of his car about ten years ago. He was off to get the pizza for our weekly "guy hangout" night, and as he ws pulling out of the driveway, he looked out his window and shouted an obscenity at me or something, so I pretended to come running down the driveway after him in revenge, whereupon he felt obligated to pretend to back up and run over me. Unfortunately, he ended up pushing the accelerator way too hard and I received my first and hopefully only automobile uppercut in life. Face went right into the back windshield, and I must have dashed my chin against the wipers, because I started bleeding pretty heavily.

Another guy in our circle, Adam, stayed behind to tend to me at the house while Lantis went on to grab the pizza. I feigned unconsciousness in the chair when he came back, and Adam played along, saying "Dude. He's been out cold ever since you and Josh left. We've used up half a roll of paper towels to stop the bleeding." And Lantis was all, "Oh, man, I feel so bad. Crap I hope he's going to be okay."

Now, Lantis'll probably try to act all cool when he sees this and deny that he fell for it and was fooled into being gravely concerned and feeling guilty, ... but I know. I heard it all. ^_^

It was such an embarrassing story, though, that when the girls at school the next day asked me how I got such an awful-looking scar, I quickly made up this more awesome-sounding story about how I got into this fight with three muggers the night before while walking home alone in the dark, and they were just wanting my pocket change for beer money. I put up a brave fight, but all three of them were bigger and managed to subdue me long enough to drag me over to their car and bash my face into the windshield. I fainted, and when I woke up alone on the side of the street, I found the money in my wallet was gone. So, it's like, "Wow, SK, you're so brave!" Only they never said that. ^_^

No, of course I wouldn't lie about such a thing just to impress the ladies with made-up heroism NOW, but I wasn't Sarah's Knight ten years ago; I was - *gasp* - Id!

2021 is going to be explosive. :happyblush:

I love scaling. When you’re in that season everything clicks and doors open. You meet the right people at the right time and forge connections that aid your ascent. There’s nothing like it.

This morning I read a few comments from the ladies in my coaching group and the one I’ll work with later on. They’re serious about their betterment and attracting comparable suitors.

They’ve leveled up. I don’t use the term very often but it fits. They’re operating in a different sphere. It’s amazing to behold. Seeing a woman in her element exuding her feminine essence is priceless.

They’ll rub off on me for certain. I thank the Lord for bringing it to pass. I asked for it in a different guise but He gave me the better option.

I think this is the year the missing link is resolved. Things are coming together to bring it to pass.

Today is planner day! The Powersheets arrived last night. I’ll grab them in a bit. It takes a couple of days to work through the prep. I’ve gotten a head start and it shouldn’t take long.

Ahh, pit stop. I love the wide open pandemic roads and wonder what traffic will be like after. I'm hearing more and more about people getting vaccines in the nursing homes and hospital staff. But also more cases in the area of covid-19.
