This is a terrible idea that would magnify the damage hackers can do.

And the timing of this is stupid. Congress knows that Trump will be out of there in a month and a half. With the House being Democrat-controlled, and staying Democrat-controlled, and with a Democrat taking his place in the White House, where is their incentive to go along with him?

That's probably a good thing. Most of these bills contain way too much pork. Defense bill probably includes way more than just defense spending.

I can't comment on the contents of the bill I will however say
1) There's nothing in this move that eliminate the pork
2) Im guessing there's at least some defence spending in there somewhere.

However, I entirely agree the US spending less on the military is a good thing.

This would be a terrible precedent. It would let the president create whatever legislation he wants by threatening to veto everything. It's too late to impeach him, but presumably Congress won't give in.

You seemed to be confused. Trump is threatening to veto this bill unless it also contains a repeal of Communication Decency Act section 230. So he's not objecting to the bill, but rather saying he won't sign it unless they ad a unrelated rider to it.

The thing about the NDAA is that it is usually a huge compromise bill to begin with. After all that work I don't see it not being able to survive a veto.

threatening the safety of an ally unless they do things for trumps personal use is blackmail . Trump’s Running for re election had nothing to do with giving Ukraine money to help with their defense . He misused his office of the presidency , placed an ally in danger and deserved his impeachment
