I used to deny liking country/redneck men, but I won't deny that I like a scruffy, athletically built guy with a four-door pickup truck. I guess that'll help me during a zombie apocalypse.

I just bought an AK-74 in 5.45 x 39. I'm really excited to take it to the range tomorrow! I hear it's just about the straightest dang bullet you could possibly shoot. The ballistics on 5.45 are much better than 5.56 NATO out of AR's. The Afghanis back in the 80's called it "the poison bullet" because its yawing effect is so nasty it just rips your guts open. The Russians switched to it for a reason!

The 74 I just got is a Bulgarian. It's amazingly well-built by DDI.

I have 3 AK-47's and one 74. Big fan.

By the way, my dad was in Vietnam. He said he was blessed to come in 1966 when the M-14 and M1-Carbines were still available. The M-16 piece of kaka had just arrived. My dad carried the 14 for his whole tour. He recently bought a new one. He thinks it's the greatest rifle he's ever shot. I've shot it, and it's dang nice! The M-16 in my dad's estimation is a Mattel brand toy jamming pile of manure. He hated them then, and despite the fact AR's have improved, he still hates 'em. I don't like 'em either. I'm an AK guy. Easy to disassemble, last for eternity, more accurate than urban legends lead on, awesome-looking, no-nonsense.

Much better than a M-16, I heard stories from old vets at the VFW, my grandma use to bartend at about NAM. The vets would say that the vietcong would leave there AK's in rice patties and start blasting on one of our side patrol, while our guys had problems with M-16's jamming up during a lot of confrontation. I want a ak-74 model. You like handguns at all? 38 specials can do damage to anybody tresspassing.

This is true, it like watching a porno, and also some of the violence can be over the top at times, that one son of the Queen was brutal, and quite possibly evil. However I wonder how much of that show is accurate in real life?

Robert Deneiro is a good actor, Depp is an annoying pain in the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. I can't stand Depp. The ONLY movie I like him in is "Ed Wood." He was a treasure in that, worthless in mostly everything else. Oh, Nightmare on Elm Street he was fair LOL!

Have never watched a whole film annoying my family by complaining how sinister he is . But he is product of a vacuous culture . I pity him when he wakes up, and find the delusion his life is .The longest Nightmare in human history .
Have people seen the video of him and his latest in Australia ?
Holywood is such a trap for the unwary .

How are you today Brinny ? Would you like to join us in Saint Jordis festival in Catalonia tommorrow, where you would recieve a Rose and the men a book ;everyone is incuded ,if you can fly over in the morning to the Ramblas in Barcelona .
My first visit to this festival but there are many in this lovely country .
lots of this I am not very cuddly physically (northern frosty) but am Inside .

My two dogs and I were joined on our afternoon romp by two very earnest Mormon Missionaries. One of them asked me if I knew any Mormons or knew anything about Mormonism. I told them I used to work with a lot of Mormons and had done a lot of reading about Mormonism - including reading the Book of Mormon - several years ago. They asked me what I thought. I told them I thought it was stuff and nonsense and Joseph Smith was a false prophet. I think they were offended.

How am I suppose to get the Mormons to stop approaching me to convert me? I shouldn't judge these folks, yet they creep me out, like they almost comes across as robotic, and their attitude just as annoying as Jehovah Witnesses as far as door knocking goes.

remind them that Joseph Smith was arrested for fraud prior to his "revelation" and the blatant sexism and racism at the LDS' founding. that usually sends them away. it's also easy to punch holes in their claimed history and lack of consistency (even within their own history).

personally, I would invite them in. as long as they are failing to deceive you, they are not out duping someone else.

Easy on the judging caution. In a few posts you've mentioned it and seem to worry a lot about judging people. It's no sin to look at a lunatic science fiction cult with disdain, distrust, and scrutiny. And the people in it, though often really nice and clean cut folks, aren't that bright to buy into it. Critical thinking solves the problem of all of that crud. It is in some ways a selfish religion. It's really more about humanity than God, and God to them is nothing but an evolved man. It degrades God, it creates a mother goddess, it feeds egos and promises people eternal marriages with spirit babies, power, transformation into God through following cult laws, it has a strong history of racism and polygamy, it's chuck full of false history and anachronism, and it's cheesy. I'll judge it all day long. And I think people need to wake up to reality. I don't care if someone was raised in it or not, it's silly.As you point out, both LDS and J-dubbs are goofy. They share several things in common---being modern man-made cults that both deny the Trinity, that claim there was a "great apostasy" and they re-write Scripture. That right there should tick all of us off! Saying that the Church went apostate and men like St. John Chrysostom, St. Cyrill the Great, St. Augustine, St. Irenaeus, St. Justin Martyr, St. Clement of Rome, Pope St. Leo the Great, St. John Climacus, etc. etc. were all APOSTATE!? The Council of Nicaea was a false and evil council of apostate phonies!

I can't stand both those religions.
