CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did you ever see Star Trek, Generations?(the movie with Kirk and Picard working together) He couldnt defeat an old scientist, much less a jedi knight trained by Yoda. Dont get me wrong, Picard rox, but he is not the fist fighting type. My Fave scenes:

He already said no to the next three. It's not happening. And anyways, would you honestly want him to further destroy the EU like he has already with his prequels? It seems to be a bit of an insult to the EU to pay the authors and authorize their stories and then totally ignore it later on. And which storyline would he choose? Thrawn series? X-Wing Series? NJO series? Black Fleet Crisis? Which one? Or would he invent a totally new story, again, and destroy the hard work and amazingly-well written base for fans to enjoy in the future? Just for him to make money? I suspect he would.
Plus, Episode 1 and 2 are kinda... sub-par movies. Do you seriously want 3 more terribly-written movies to tell the rest of the "story"? The original 3 were amazing movies and had decent acting and well written lines for the actors to use. Episode 1 and 2 were so terribly written I was left wondering if Lucas has suffered a head injury and lost all ability to write dialogue. I was left cringing so often when Anakin (young and older) opened his mouth and then same with Amidala even. Yoda... really overdid the "dyslexia" or whatever in his lines... I don't ever recall hearing him mix words up so terribly in the original. It just didn't feel right for Yoda's lines.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with ^^^Wroth...^^^
The original 3 were classics...However the first and second episodes, (most likely the third) were TERRIBLE... I favored some scenes, but the overall movie was a big fat disapointment!!!

Has there been any update on the new SW TV series that Rick McCaullum was talking about? Last I heard Kevin Smith was dropping hints about being involved with it, but there wasn't much info that was given.
I say get Dennis Lawson back in the saddle....er....cockpit and make a series based on the Rogue Squadron books with Corran Horn, Tycho Celchu, etc. If done well, it could be excellent.
Only thing concrete I've heard is that Mark Hammil has talked about being on it as Luke, but not regularly....just sorta like how Conner McLeod would have cameos in the Highlander TV series.

The X-Wing series would be awesome. They have all 9 books to draw from (Rogue *AND* Wraith) and have a really really really awesome base to use.
Either that or delve into the New Jedi Order series. No need to go through the whole bit of Jaina, Jacen and Anakin being kids, just start us out with them as teens and absolutely ripping things up. (ANAKIN ROCKS!)
