  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

...to find a Star Wars thread! Woo! :D

Around the first part of August, when changing my password I somehow messed up so badly that I didn't know what I changed the password to, exactly. I requested a reset password e-mail to be sent -- several times -- but they somehow disappeared into the ether (I have had that problem at times with my Verizon.net address)

Then this morning a 3 day old reset password e-mail plops into my Verizon account. The link was expired, but I immediately re-requested the reset and got it immediately!

I feel a bit like Darth Vader must have felt at the end of Episode IV when he finally got his Tie Fighter back under control :D

Anyway my Star Wars favorites:
Movie: The Empire Strikes Back
Character: Yoda or Aayla Secura (the latter is the blue Twi'lek Jedi briefly seen in Episode II; she's a frequent character in the comics)
Line: "Do, or do not. There is no try." -- Yoda
Scene: Tough one...so many great scenes. :D I'll go with the Luke/Vader duel in ESB

Well, I've been away for a while, and I come back to find a star wars thread at a Christian site! This is good as all the other places I had to go were full of people who just wanted to see nat portman naked if they could. I think I may already have posted something in this thread earlier, but that's fine.

To tell you the truth, star wars used to be very big with me as a young boy. Recently however, I have become more interested in getting to know God and Jesus alot more on a personal level. Not that there is anything wrong with liking star wars don't misunderstand me, I just had spent long enough in that part of fantasy and I wanted to move in a different direction. If you're not careful, you can go a little to far with some of these things. Besides, I wanted to also focus on getting started making movies of my own and such. Star wars mainly served as a way for me to understand just how much of an impact film has on today's society. It persuaded me that film is a worthwhile persuit for bringing people to Jesus.

Oh my gosh! I'm so happy! A star wars thread! **sigh of contentment** I have all the movies plus the Special Edition. Mom got us hooked on them when she bought the original for Dad when I was around 5. We've loved them ever since
Now if I can only find a LOTR thread...

Does anyone remember watching the "Star Wars Christmas Special"? Boy was it bad...
Never heard of it - I do remember an Ewok offshoot though, but don't ask any details it's probably been 15 years since I've seen it

George Lucas has stated somewhere (don't ask me for the exact reference) that if he could, he would hunt down and destroy all copies of the Holiday Special.

On the other hand, the two Ewok TV-movies are coming to DVD in November.

It was an interview I beleive that was released before Ep. 1 was put out in theaters - it was where he confirmed for sure that he wouldn't do 9 movies, simply the 6 (3 original, 3 prequel) as planned. The question came up about the holiday special (I've seen it... yuck...) and he said indeed that he wish he could destroy every copy of it.
