Speaking of pets....I forgot to post the picture I took of our cat Samwise. He's grown this amazing mane around his neck and chest over the past few weeks.

I wish I could have a dog or a cat, but I'm not home enough to take proper care of a dog, (not to mention the increase of rent and $500 deposit to my Apartment Complex is more than I can bare, and I'm terribley allergic to cats.

Plus, I just feel my one bedroom apartment is too small for an animal to be comfortable.

Ah well, guess I'll just have to enjoy looking at pictures of yours for now.

I wish I could have a dog or a cat, but I'm not home enough to take proper care of a dog, (not to mention the increase of rent and $500 deposit to my Apartment Complex is more than I can bare, and I'm terribley allergic to cats.

A one bedroom apartment is definitely too small for a large dog, but a toy dog might work in one that small. However, you do need to be home quite a bit for the dog. My cocker spaniel puppy has entirely too much energy and plays entirely too much to be kept in a small apartment. Sometimes I think my house isnt even big enough to house all of her energy. But the English Toy Spaniels I have are very lazy dogs and they did well when I had a small apartment.

I saw a beautiful sunrise this morning. It made my heart soar. Has anyone heard the choral piece "Oh Day Full of Grace"? I've sung it in a high school and collegiate ensemble. It basically is a musical portrait of a sunrise with beautiful lyrics. I imagine the composer saw something similar to what I saw this morning when he wrote that piece.

O day full of grace
which we behold
to us from the sea ascending;

good cheer to all mortals , lending
that children of light of every clime
may prove that the night is ending".

Just a little snippet of it. I'm at work so can't youtube the song for you guys, but it is truly worth a listen.

Good morning!
It's been a cold rainy weekend here...and I wound up sick as a dog in bed for the last few days...
Jack, our faithful dog has been staying in bed with me and licking my hand every so often and whimpering...silly thing knew I was sick...the cats were ecstatic since their "bed" was laying fairly still...so all in all I spent the weekend in bed with my animals...all 5 of 'em...they did keep me warm

I'm feeling a bit better and am actually able to sit in a chair all by myself again amazing the things you get happy about being able to do ...

Kaydra continues to feel better, and she did attend the MC Ball this weekend with her friends...and had a good time...fortunately they didn't leave the base...and she's returning to being a barracks rat ... but it's safer for her...

Kira is doing well in school...got her first grade card of hte year and she's managed all A's and B's

We are just suffering with wind , rain , sun [ occasionally for about 10 mins ] rain , wind etc etc.

It's been like that since the start of last week and now we are told it's going to get colder

Autumn - what Autumn - seems we are now into winter

Well our clocks did go back at the weekend after all

It helps with the shedding....and also helps reduce the amount of hairballs they get. Bleh! I hate it when they cough up a hairball.

Besides...they love getting brushed.

I have one that won't tolerate it too well...she lets ya get a few strokes in and then attacks the brush (Emma, the fraidy cat) the rest love it...just stretch and squirm it's hilarious

Why do cats get hairballs? I have not seen my dogs cough up a hairball yet.

Cats are obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleaning and licking their fur. Check out this cat tongue picture....this is why I don't like them licking me:

Mr. Tom used to do that... He would attack me and the brush too ...lol... was not worth it. But he was a stray cat before i got him so was too "independent" to be brushed... Ah...well, cats survived the wild before we domesticated them ... Dogs? I gave my dog a bath last week and she did wonderfully except if I try to dry her head...She gets too mad so I let her dry naturally. ... I tried to clean her ears and she growled... So I am making an appmt with the vet just to check them out... I think she has yet another infection although not too serious....
