How is your job hunt going?

Got nothing. I know what the problem is too, but unfortunately that isn't going to go away for a while.

My husband's car is going to be repossessed tomorrow, and mine will be soon after that I'm sure. Things are going downhill fast.

Well, I finished my first icon yesterday and now it's being varnished at the moment. Should be good and dry for the trip home in just over a week... The photo doesn't do the colors much justice but I'll take another one as soon as it's at home in better light...

Photini, write a letter to St John Maximovich! A friend told me that you can write a letter to him that is placed under his relics. She said that recently a young women placed a letter under his relics but the thought crossed her mind, "There is no way he'll read my letter". That night St John appeared to her and said "I always read all my mail!". I sent a letter to him on Monday and on Tuesday I already had answers for two of the matters I wrote to him about!!!!
Here is how you can write to St John:

Write the letter to Saint John and put it in a small envelope.

Then write a note to Protodeacon Dimitri: "Dear Father Dimitri, please put this letter under the relics of Saint John!"

Then put the note and the letter in a bigger envelope under this address: (write it exactly as below)

Do not lose faith and courage. We have been there with my husband and it was taugh. Things will look up you will see just do not lose your cool. Christ is in control. Many people lost their homes this year and their jobs. You are in my prayers

I'm so sorry your car cost so much to repair...every time I hear something like that I'm grateful for Mr G...he's jobless and running a repair shop out of the garage here at the house...but when it's my car all I have to pay is parts ... well that and a sack full oof double cheeseburgers from McDonald's LOL)...but he also does stuff for free for people who are struggling...

Darn. I've been trying to find a YouTube video that one of our ladies here posted in one of the Mariology threads in GT. I can't remember who posted it or which of the three huge threads it was in. I think it was in Arabic, it had the translation into English subtitled in it and showed landscapes. If that rings any bells for anyone, let me know.

Has anyone here ever had an older dog (or cat) spayed and then had the animal get really fat within a few months of the operation? We had Brittany spayed this summer at the age of 9. We waited this long because I finally gave up trying to get Brittany interested in another male so I could breed her. The only male she ever took interest in was her half-brother Tikhon, and being Tikhon himself is a line bred dog that simply would not work. She weighed about 10 lbs when we had her spayed but now she is pushing 12 lbs and is very, very, very, very, very fat. Any more weight and I doubt her little legs will be able to support her! We told the vet about this when we took Ruutu in because she got stung by a bee and the vet just shook her head and chuckled.

It's very common really. They are not hormonal and aren't searching for a mate anymore and get a bit more sluggish. You have to adjust her diet and exercise accordingly when she is spayed, to avoid any future medical issues. The fatter the more risk on liver and heart...

Will do on the excercise, although the food thing is kind of an issue. The puppy needs puppy food to grow and the other 3 love to eat her food and it is very hard to keep them from getting to it. I guess I will just have to take Brit for brisk walks every day to keep her functioning properly because she is getting very lazy and sluggish. Being English Toy Spaniels are naturally lazy dogs it really isn't a good thing when they get even more lazy than they already are.

You might have to separate the pup while they eat. The puppy food is definitely heavy on the liver and system for an older dog. We keep ours separate when someone needs to look weight too... now they've gotten the clue and try not to eat eachothers food.

Awww, poor Brittany. I remember when my aunt's dachshund needed to lose weight, the vet said to limit the number of treats. He said that two or three dog treats was like giving him one king sized snicker's bar.

I have completely cut back on her treats. She used to get about a half dozen a day and now she is lucky if she gets one or two.
