Cats are obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleaning and licking their fur. Check out this cat tongue picture....this is why I don't like them licking me:

I just finally got Jack to the vet this past week...he's healthy and in good shape for being a stray when Mr G brought him home...no heart worms all good to go now

Everytime I think of letting him I hear George Carlin's voice in my head screaming:

"Cats aren't clean! They're covered in cat spit!!!" and I just can't do it...

Their grooming is pretty "rough" though....and true it is full of ...cat spit. Not that canines are better I do not car what they say I still do not let my dog to sleep in my bedroom she has her bed downstairs...Michael's dog needs a "tongue reduction"... I am sure he drools a lot the poor thing....

Why do cats get hairballs? I have not seen my dogs cough up a hairball yet.

As for brushing, my wife brushes the cocker puppies ears because she says I am far too rough with the brushing.

Dogs shed all over the floor instead... their hairballs are called tumbleweeds...

Not kidding here, a guy one day approached me in the park while I was walking Brittany and Oliver and says to me: "Man Gene Simmons (of KISS) would be so jealous of your dogs tongue!"

Yes but I have yet to see a dog cough up a tumbleweed.

As for shedding, Brittany and Tikhon blow their coat all over me every time I pick one of them up to get one of them a hug.

He does drool alot but I would never consider giving him a tongue reduction. His tongue gives him a bit of character, that and Nutroll is very affraid of Olivers tongue!

The reason (part of it) why cats clean themselves is because they sweat via the tongue. Since cats must consider drooling "not proper" they probably figure its a good method to mix recycling and cleaning.

Good news: I don't wash dishes this week!


All five days I work I will be making pizzas! And of course that college stuff.



This last weekend was funky. We hired a new dishwasher who speaks almost zero English. I, speaking almost zero Spanish and sign language, was tasked with training the new guy. Our kitchen manager, who speaks Spanish and English fluently, did teach me a few words and phrases that helped greatly.

I am completely blown away by the fact that in three days of broken English, broken Spanish and non-verbal gestures we were able to communicate at all. All that he really needed to know was where stuff goes and how we clean sinks and so forth. The new guy started Friday night and by Sunday night he was closing stuff down like he had worked there forever. It all worked out.

Winter has come

Just been out and found the pavements were all gritted last night and it's really cold My nose feels frozen and I'm thawing out in a nice warm house .

Time to get my winter fleece back into use

I love the story about teaching the dishwasher despite not knowing spanish

My kitty sheds EVERYWHERE and she's been getting terrible hairballs and then being sick wherever. She climbed up on my sister's lap today and started to gag and sister very unspympathetically put her on the floor and told her to puke there not on her. Kitten glared and stalked off.

I've been brushing her, and she copes, but hates her belly brushed...is there any way to deal with that? She's very white and very fluffy and sheds on EVERYTHING especially my dark church clothes when I'm about to walk out the door on Sunday...
