Spoke with my mother yesterday and she is doing well but will require surgery to clean out a blocked artery. Not sure of the time. Then two of my daughter's roommates have Covid, daughter has to go back tomorrow for a second test. So we can't see her for a few weeks now.

Here I am, mooching for prayers again.
The new US government is “sanctioning” Russia for “interfering in the 2020 elections” (as if it mattered in the least), and so Russia said, “OK, we are going to forbid Russian citizens to work in the US Embassy”. The US says, “Oh, yeah, well in that case we are going to stop issuing visas to Russians and stop serving American citizens in Russia”.
That last one is ruining my life. My passport is about to expire and they won't renew it because of their tit-for-tat. That could leave me as a man without a country, unable to leave Russia, and if not resolved, at the end of the year, unable to stay legally in Russia even, to extend my residency. I’m even looking at Russian citizenship, though that requires doing so with a valid passport. I feel like my country is hanging me out to dry with a storm coming in.

The American embassy sent me an automated reply that they won't help me. They even have computers respond. No human hears your plea. How convenient.
I'm going to the Russian INS tomorrow. I'm very nervous about the whole thing, and beg your prayers!

They relented and gave me an “emergency” appointment yesterday. But they refused to give one to my daughter, whose passport is expired, because she was born in Russia, and they say “she has no immigration emergency”, and are treating her as a non-American.

A young woman I sponsored was in a very bad car wreck tonight but walked away with no injuries yet that we're aware of. We are saying prayers of immense gratitude tonight that she's alive!! But, please pray for this young woman as her life has been one thing after another this year and she can't catch a break (her baptism name is Mary).
