CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could you please continue to pray for me, I have Covid & have visited the ER twice now & have viral pneumonia for which I cannot take antibiotics. Forgive me, a sinner.

My mother will be going into surgery today to clean her carotid artery as she has been suffering mini-strokes. She'll be in the ICU for a few days after that so here's praying all goes well.

My mother (who turned to Islam a few years ago) had a super-complex operation for cancer last year, lost insurance for over a year after that (thanks, "Obamacare!") and only last month got it back, has a lesion on her liver now. She's always lived an extremely healthy life, but is in her late 70's.
And for myself, still feeling very much like a worm crawling alone in the dark, far from God, broke, unable to scrape up the money to go visit my mom (I last saw her in '05; I had had hopes of saving up money for a family visit, but the collapse of the ruble in 2014 crushed those hopes).
If anyone is so moved to say a prayer, my thanks!

My mom has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I am having a hard time dealing with this. No idea how I am going to get back there, but I must. I’m trying not to fall apart and take all these various things out on my near and dear. Prayers appreciated.
