CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayers for all who have requested prayers: Rus, Archer, everyone.
It seems that my beloved Sonoma County, California is on fire again, this time with the Kincaid fire. News travels more slowly to me nowadays since I don't have TV and haven't lived there for the last two years, but I was there for the last major outbreak in 2017, which was pretty bad. I guess this time it is really bad, too. I just heard from my former roommate today that apparently my hometown (along with several other nearby towns) has been evacuated ahead of what are projected to be 80 mph winds. If I understand the latest evacuations correctly, parts of Santa Rosa (where my brother and his family still live; also home of St. Seraphim of Sarov church; may God protect Fr. Lawrence and all the people there) have also been evacuated. Santa Rosa was probably the hardest hit of all the places by the last round of fires in 2017, which completely obliterated entire neighborhoods, so I'm sure they don't need this.
Please pray for the many thousands of people who have been evacuated, are on the verge of being evacuated, or are otherwise threatened by this latest disaster. Thank you.

My younger daughter is being proposed for a 2 year secondment for a job [ in her line of work ] outside the UK .
She will be able to be accompanied by her husband and dog

I've googled the area/situation and I have to say I'm rather worried at the wisdom of this.
Please keep her in your prayers - that she makes the correct choice and also is accepted by the receiving authority. Her life will be very very stressful should she go
