CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

please pray for the departed servant, Levi. he was not Orthodox, but had a very simple, black and white faith in Christ.

Please pray for the Orthodox community here in Hanoi. A very devout priest from Russia has been visiting every few months and was supposed to visit during Christmas. However, a new archbishop has been appointed to Vietnam. The Russian community has asked that we have a permanent priest, but I was told that this is a very long process and it may be a while before a priest can visit us.

I could really use prayers for employment. I and my family are down to surviving off my measly military retirement, and what I can earn doing "handyman" work for relatives or friends. I've been searching for just about a year now, and I only have FOUR interviews to show for it, despite having submitted hundreds of resumes/applications, visited nearly a dozen job fairs/recruiting/hiring events. I'm back in Pennsylvania now for those who didn't know (Lancaster area) so any connections in the areas of Facilities Management, Operations Management, or Customer Service Manager/Director - please private message me and we can work out details there. The first time I ever asked a Saint to pray for me, it was a dire situation for jobs (I'd been out if work for several years, and my husband had to rent a room and live 600 miles away to work). I tentatively asked St. Xenia, and within days I had a flexible job that let me attend Church anytime I want, and within two weeks my husband was back home and has been in the same job ever since (almost unheard of in construction). It may have been that God was so gracious because I was very leery of asking intercession (newly baptized former mostly-evangelical Protestant), but I always like to repeat how well her prayers worked for me and express my thanks.
