The first time I ever asked a Saint to pray for me, it was a dire situation for jobs (I'd been out if work for several years, and my husband had to rent a room and live 600 miles away to work). I tentatively asked St. Xenia, and within days I had a flexible job that let me attend Church anytime I want, and within two weeks my husband was back home and has been in the same job ever since (almost unheard of in construction). It may have been that God was so gracious because I was very leery of asking intercession (newly baptized former mostly-evangelical Protestant), but I always like to repeat how well her prayers worked for me and express my thanks.

You have my prayers.

Thank you, Anastasia. I have my own "miracle" story related to asking for intersession from St. Xenia. Perhaps I am not being as fervent in my prayers this time.

Ah, well that is for you to decide. I am NOT suggesting, ever, where the "fault" is when prayers seem to be "not answered". All I know to do is ask in prayer, and try to trust no matter what happens (or do my best anyway).

No worries. Wasn't insinuating that you were making any such suggestion. If anything, it was just a little too much of my self-depreceation showing. Truth is, I could always do with using the ante on the ferventness of my prayers / prayer routine. Hence, my going to the vigil being done at my church this evening.

I could really use prayers for employment. I and my family are down to surviving off my measly military retirement, and what I can earn doing "handyman" work for relatives or friends. I've been searching for just about a year now, and I only have FOUR interviews to show for it, despite having submitted hundreds of resumes/applications, visited nearly a dozen job fairs/recruiting/hiring events. I'm back in Pennsylvania now for those who didn't know (Lancaster area) so any connections in the areas of Facilities Management, Operations Management, or Customer Service Manager/Director - please private message me and we can work out details there. Thank you dear brothers and sisters for your love and prayers.

Lord have mercy. I get memos about such jobs from head hunters now and again. If I here of any thing in your area I'll try and pass it on.

I need to ask for prayers for a safe and peaceful life for my family and I in Russia. My current residency is coming to an end and they are doing nothing to extend it. I'm an older man with nowhere to return to. Starting a new life somewhere else feels beyond my strength. Political declamations of Russia by the US as a "threat" have made things worse for me as well.

I need to ask for prayers for a safe and peaceful life for my family and I in Russia. My current residency is coming to an end and they are doing nothing to extend it. I'm an older man with nowhere to return to. Starting a new life somewhere else feels beyond my strength. Political declamations of Russia by the US as a "threat" have made things worse for me as well.

I have been to the emergency room 5 times and seen every doctor imaginable in between, and no one can find anything wrong with me. I've had to quit my job, one that I absolutely loved and worked so very hard to get. It has all really taken toll on me mentally and physically, not to mention the burden it has put on my family. It has also tested my faith, which is probably the biggest hurt of all, as I never want to question God's will or reason.

If you could keep a lady in my parish in your prayers, she could definitely use them. She was helping to put up Christmas decorations at church today when she fell and hit her head. She's currently in the ICU. Her name is Jennie.
