CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

please pray for the repose of the servant of God, the Deacon Mark. he really labored for STOTS as a board member, and did a lot as an MD.

My cousins parents are going through a divorceI figured with the new year, we could start a new prayer thread. I like to write down prayer request and then incorporate them into my evening prayers! Please feel free to post! I would love to pray for you!
My prayer requests are:
For my husband (and all of our other military) who has 8 months left in Iraq. For the separation, the lonliness, etc.
That I may be able to find a job soon and be happy with it!
For my brother who called last night and is having marital problems (contemplating divorce now). There is a 9 year old involved.
For my twin who also has marital problems. At one point they sought counseling, but since have stopped and still problems exsist. There is a 3 year old involved.
*Neither family goes to church and I don't believe either children have even been baptized (well, the 9 year old may have, but that is about it). Both of my siblings call me with their problems and I just listen and I don't know what to say, so I just pray. It breaks my heart!

Praying in agreement with the other previous people in their prayers. Lord Have Mercy.
For a personal prayer, a close associate came out of a cult recently (Last July) but his children are still trapped in it alongside his wife (on the level of Jim Jones with the brainwashing present) - who pushed him out of the commune home they lived in with the cult leader and other leaders there who were having multiple affairs. The Lord has been very faithful in bringing him healing/restoration and he has been investigating/learning Orthodoxy. Nonetheless, it has been very difficult for him with how the kids were suffering a lot of abuse. If I may ask, please be praying for him to continue (as the courts were initially in her favor due to a lot of lying going on leading into his court case) and that he'd be able to gain favor with the courts - and all of the abuse/mess being hidden be exposed greatly since there's a lot of witchcraft occurring. Pray also for the kids to be preserved and that God would speak through them - and pray for his wife to come out of things as well.

I also could really use some prayers from you all. I just found out that my cousin has breast cancer. She is in her mid-20s, with a toddler. They are distraught now. Please pray for them!
