I just got diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. They want one more scan before they design a treatment plan (brain scan). I have my first meeting with my surgeon tomorrow. I know this will be a long road ahead, and I will really appreciate your prayers. I am at peace with God regardless of what the future holds.

Oh Tom, I'm so sad to hear this. As I was thinking about you, the verse Isaiah 26 v 3 came to mind:

"You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you." (NIV)

How good that you feel at peace and I trust that the Lord will lead you through this step-by-step. I'm praying that He will guide those designing the treatment plan so that every bit of it will be according to His will. I'm also praying for as much comfort and freedom from pain as possible. Also praying for your wife and family and that you have a wonderful Christmas together as we celebrate the birth of the One who holds the future.

Dear Lord, please help Tom and his wife through this time ahead. Give them an extra awareness of Your love and presence and be with them every step of the way. In Jesus' name, Amen!

I posted this in the prayer forum, but also wanted to post it here.

My daughter-in-law may have ovarian cancer. She was just informed that she has 5 masses on her ovaries and the doctor is very concerned. He wants to remove them as soon as possible, but DIL and my son want a second opinion first.

Please pray for them. Thank you.

Praying for your son and DIL BookishGirl. For guidance about getting a second opinion and, if they do so, for that to happen soon. Praying that the Lord shows them what treatment to have and that your DIL regains full health soon. ​

Praying for your daughter-in-law, BookishGirl, and the doctors, that the removal of the masses on her ovaries will be done successfully, and there will be no cancer. Praying for her healing and a speedy recovery.

Medical technology has advanced a long way in treatments, surgery and medications for getting rid of cancer and new medical cures. A really good surgeon says he can deal with it, stage 3 bowel cancer, also problems in the bladder that they are following up. More tests. Then localized chemotherapy and then surgery. Thank you for your prayers.
